Sunday 1:30pm. Tried to call to order for pick up, went straight to voicemail. Got to Kusina at Lumpia around 1:30pm, supposedly they close at 2pm on Sundays per Yelp. Placed our order for tapsilog ($15.99), tocilog ($13.99), and pork lumpia ($10.99). Took about 20 minutes for us to get our food. This has to be the WORST Filipino food I've ever had. (I've been here before and had much better experiences.) The tapsilog and tocilog were not at all like the pictures or what I've had before. The tapsilog we got were chunks of the cheapest cut of beef. Very tough and barely marinated. It felt as if oppose to telling us they were out of tapsilog, they decided to just cut up some beef and sell it to us. Absolutely disappointed! The tocilog was not any better. Tocilog is a sweet cured pork. There was not sweetness to it. Lacked flavor! The eggs in both silogs were overcooked! The only thing salvageable was the pork lumpia, 10 pieces for $10.99. I feel cheated as a customer and will not be returning. Food is overpriced and inedible! read more

Checked out Kusina@Lumpia during lunch for some Filipino food. It's a small place however it's clean and tidy inside with a few dining tables. They also have some bread, dessert and snacks. If you like Ube stuff, this place has some. Located in a small plaza so there's ample parking. This visit I ordered the Chopsilog ($14) (marinated pork chop) served with garlic rice, eggs, cucumber and tomato. Also ordered 5pcs lumpia ($6) and 2 pcs turon (fried banana with lanka/jackfruit $1.50 each). The meal was pretty good and delicious!! Good service as well! Family members commented on the pieces being cut too large and too much fat but it's pork belly so I guess what do you expect. The sauce that came with it was delicious, next time I would order extra sauce but luckily we had some Mang Tomas at home (yes they started selling this again hallelujah the drought is over) The location is in a parking lot with many other stores and the entrance is kind of interesting. I've been craving silogs, were going to pass by Sacramento so I looked up Filipino restaurant around the area and found this. The price was decent and it comes with great portions which is a plus! The portions were decent, but it felt a little pricey for what you get. The food itself was really well seasoned and tasted good, I just wish there were more veggies.. both dishes only came with one slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato. They were fresh though, not soggy, which was nice. The place was clean and well kept. Came here for the first time to this family-owned business. So cute and cozy here. Lots of Filipino decor and they even have store with Filipino products here! Menu has 16 home styles Filipino items that looks pretty authentic. We ordered our food, paid and shopped in their store while waiting for our food to go. Updating my review regarding my rice when got my longisilog meal. It was delicious! Actually tasted better than my homemade garlic rice. I'm not ashamed to say it. Of course the little lumpia's were yummy. Prices seemed to have increased since last year. For me it was a lot of food. Prices are cheaper than what we saw online so that was a pleasant surprise. There are few tables outside and tall tables inside. Food is generous and the rice has the perfect amount of garlic. I do wish they offered more sauces than vinager, especially for those who don't use vinegar or even hot sauce. My friend and I were desperately craving Filipino food and stumbled upon this place, and I'm so happy that we did! Located in the Natomas area of Sacramento, this mom and pop shop serves Filipino cuisine and is best known for their silogs. The interior is cozy with a couple of seating options inside, although most of the seating will be outside. I originally ordered the tosilog, but they ran out (it must be popular!) so I went for the longsilog instead. It was so delicious! Generous portions and a perfect ratio of longanisa, rice, and egg. The silogs also come with a slice of cucumber and tomato and is also served with vinegar. I had a little taste of my friend's order, the BBQsilog, and it was TENDER and the marinade was so good. They also have a little market area to buy common Filipino ingredients. There is a rack with fresh baked pandesal for a great price. I got the ube cheese pandesal for less than $5 and each piece is huuuge. Love that! Service was spectacular, the one who helped us (I'm assuming the owner of the shop) was super kind! I ordered the Tapisilog. This was our second time here. The meat is always tender and not a lot of fat. High quality meat for sure! The garlic rice is also very flavorful and not salty at all! The thing that made this visit different is we met an elder homeless man who greeted us a good day. The lumpia especially, you can tell it was previously frozen not fresh. It had that freezer burn taste. Again the wedding was on New Year's eve so we didn't taste the food until like 10pm. I ask several people what they thought of the food and they thought it taste old as well. My dad is a chef and he said that the lumpia was old. We ordered their tapsilog, tosilog, longsilog and one with fried milkfish but they were all disappointing. Easy to find as you walk in is the little takeout with your basic Filipino food like chicken adobo, different type of lumpias, pork dishes, Pancit bihon, sisig, garlic rice, pork singang. It's a cute little place where you can find Filipino groceries as well for someone like me who rarely ever cooks Filipino it was nice to find little packets that let me make some of my other favourite dishes like karekare. Okay so this used to be my go to place and I would come here at least once a week because I loved the Tapsilog with garlic rice. Most recently when I stopped in, my jaw hit the floor. First they raised the prices on all of their dishes by $5, then in addition they removed one egg from the dish due to inflation; but you can pay more for that egg, so now you get less food for a higher price. I wound up spending $20 on lunch and was disappointed to find my lumpia was cold. The staff has always been welcoming when I've visited and I love browsing the shop for different snacks, sauces and ingredients. Their menu is also great! The Silog options are some of my favorites to order, they come with two eggs and garlic fried rice along with the protein of your choice. They are very generous with the rice and it's super tasty. They also have plenty of other great dishes like Lumpia, Adobo, Lechon Kawali, Pancit Bihon, Dinuguan and more. They also let me know they have Sisig on Fridays- yum! On my latest trip I brought home Pork Lumpia, Pancit Bihon, Tocilog and some chocolate Pillows (if you see the Ube ones they're also so good), sauces and Turon.
