I go to this Southern Grounds for meetings often because it is a convenient location to where I live. Their coffee is good, but not my favorite. I usually get an iced americano or an almond milk latte. I do really love their pastries! The vegan pumpkin muffin is the best! The staff are always friendly and the ambiance is nice for a business meeting. I like that it's not silent inside, there are many people talking which makes it a comfortable atmosphere. I've gotten a breakfast sandwich here before and it was delicious! Their prices on lunch food are high, so I haven't tried it yet. I've also visited around 4 pm for a glass of wine. 5 Stars for lovely service, yummy food (with great portions), and a bright atmosphere. OK, let's talk about Southern Grounds parking. It's a small lot that gets quite full and backing out of it onto the street is a bit treacherous. There, now that that's been said, everything else about your experience will be seamless and FAB. I ordered the ancient grain salmon bowl (thankful for the patient gal at the register because literally everything on the menu looked good, so your girl took a sec or two to decide). Come hungry because this bowl is plentiful. I was expecting a tiny sliver of salmon, but what I got was enough to feed two people and the salmon was cooked to perfection. If I'd been staying in town, I could've taken home enough leftovers for another meal. I also opted for a nutter butter cookie (again, it's a big one!) because it was calling to me. We shared it and I still had some leftover for the drive back to Orlando. It's prettttty sweet, but perfect when paired with coffee for a sweet/bitter combo. I'd always heard great things about Southern Grounds and thought it was just a coffee shop, but recently discovered they offer a full menu of food items and is open until 9pm. I haven't tried the food yet since it's on the pricier side, but their Iced Caramel Macchiato with oat milk (less ice) has become my go-to. I've visited seven times over the last couple of months and always get the same drink since the location is close to my work. The coffee is good, but the quality varies--likely because different baristas prepare it each time. One day, I overheard a barista telling another that his secret was mixing the caramel directly into the espresso, which made the drink taste less bold than I prefer for a macchiato. The one downside is the parking situation. There's a narrow strip of spaces right by the cafe, and if those are full, the overflow lot by the train tracks can be inconvenient, especially if you get caught waiting for a train. All in all, Southern Grounds has a nice vibe, and I'm excited to try some of their food soon! read more

Stopped by Southern Grounds for the first time. It was a clean, welcoming and quiet space where you can grab great coffee, sandwiches or desserts. You order and it's brought to your table. The wait staff was friendly and pleasant. I ordered an Americano iced coffee with creme and sugar. Excellent, robust and delicious. We had just come from lunch so we decided to try a couple of desserts. We ordered the nutter butter cookie along with the salted-caramel cookie. The Nutter Butter is actually two cookies held together by a peanut butter flavored crème in the center. Despite its appearance, it was light, nutty and sweet, and the sweetness was not overpowering. Just a fantastic dessert. The salted-caramel cookie solves one of life's greatest ambitions. It was THE perfect combination of salty and sweet. The cookie is soft and sweet. The caramel rich, the salt present in large flakes and what makes this one unique is the crystalized icing on top. Amazing!!! Highly recommend this place. I regret is not trying Southern Grounds sooner. We had lunch somewhere close but it was disappointing so we were hoping to redeem the meal with a coffee and something sweet. This San Marco location was great, clean and open with plenty of seating options. We chose iced Mocha Latte with oat milk and regular iced coffee with cream along with a salted caramel chip cookie and nutter butter cream sandwich cookie. Seeing the selection of food, we were sorry to have had lunch somewhere else. We brought our cookies to a table and our coffees were brought to us. Staff were lovely and helpful. I have been wanting to try this place put and my friend and I finally got a chance to. The place has super, and very limited parking space. Finding a place to park at was a struggle. When we walked inside, it was super crowded. There were rarely any tables opened. We ordered a vanilla cappuccino with an extra shot, a cafe con leche, a brownie, a chocolate croissant, avocado toast, and a grilled chicken sandwich. The cafe con leche was good. It had the perfect amount of coffee and milk. The chocolate crossaint was a little cold, but not as bad. Not sure if they warm it up for you or not if you ask. The brownie was delicious. The avocado toast was bomb. It was packed and jammed with so much flavors and the richness of the goat cheese and avocado together blended in so well. The grilled chicken sandwich was just amazingly heavenly tasty!!! I loved everything about the sandwich! Also their chips were crunchy and yummy. Saturday early afternoon...looking for a late, late brunch as most places were about to close. First time to Southern Grounds but not the last. Everything was really good. Design your own omelet was authentic, folded and not the mix often used that just makes them puffy. Cheese grits and toast. Perfectly prepared. Also a French toast with sides of bacon that were just right. Ate on the patio in dry 80 degrees weather and soft breeze. It was the ideal brunch. This is more than a coffee shop. What a cute little spot with a huge menu! They have lots of gf/vegan pastry options and lots of real food ranging from avocado toast to salmon bowls to breakfast. The staff were so sweet! I got the avocado toast and it came loaded with tomatoes/feta. The pumpkin muffin was so delicious you couldn't even tell it was gluten free. It is counter service with plenty of seats both inside and outside and lots of outlets. Wife said the meet was tough and the sauce was horrible. I was a bit concerned when the Ruben didn't come with the traditional sauerkraut, but figured I give it a go. Was told the fries that came with it were amazing by the order lady. My sandwich was so sad, toasted bead was soggy , there was maybe two thin slices of meat on each 1/2 of the sandwich ( really upsetting for the amount we paid) Now on to the fries , they were as if someone left them sitting under a heat lamp and weren't even hot on my plate. Although the turmeric drink is excellent at all the southern grounds places I've went to. The one in Atlantic blvd is my favorite, because of the staff, parking, and cozy atmosphere. I've tasted a couple of meals and all of them are great but sometimes it can be little overrated such as the Burrata toast. It's almost 11$ for just one toast with pretty big amount of cheese and small amount of tomatoes & balsamic glaze. It would might be better if there's two toasts and balance the meal out. Brunch options I love are their smoked salmon on toast. They have healthy power bowls too! If u wanna do a charcuterie board they have that as well! I'm a huge fan of their sandwiches, my most recent order was a Smoked salmon BLT with a side of quinoa salad. Other options include tacos... you name it, they probably have it! I love their seasonal menu. There's always something new to try! My new fave is the pecan lavender bar. Deeeeelicious, pecan pie with a nice whipped topping with sprinkles of lavender. Their desserts are immaculate. I once sat in front of two ladies icing the cakes... they do it right in front of you and it's such a relaxing thing to stare at lol. I got a seasonal latte and the quesadilla. For being pretty grounded, we got our food so quickly and everything tasted so good and fresh! We were a pretty large group but the service was so quick and the staff is so friendly! My friend invited me to try this place out. I will say that it does get busy so parking can be difficult because it's a small one-way at the cafe and then there's another parking area (unpaved) passing the railroad tracks on your left (if heading east towards Atlantic Blvd) OR before the tracks on the right (if heading west, towards the cafe and San Marco). Because there was no parking, I had to park around San Marco Plaza and walk about a quarter of a mile to the cafe. The interior decor was great and love the colors. You enter and will order first at the line - I asked about Keto options and they can accommodate as long you know what you want, if salads aren't what you want as an entree. This is what I ordered as a Keto friendly option -- House Burger replacing the bun with lettuce and instead of fries, I chose the small side house salad with balsamic vinegarette. The House Burger had grass fed beef, gruyere cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, herbs, and mushrooms. The burger was very juicy and the taste was phenomenal. Loved it! In addition, I ordered the dark roast coffee with Splenda and sugar free vanilla syrup. The bathrooms are single occupancy and clean. There is also outside seating very close to the train tracks. If you don't like train horns, I suggest to sit inside. Overall, this was place was really good and curious if trying the other foods such as their breakfast items and desserts.
