Autumn was the person that assisted us, will say patient as explained the process. When Autumn saw I was struggling with the on-line menu, Autumn brought us paper menus, THANL YOU! The selection was great, plentiful, which made difficult to select. My friend got the portable mushroom Benedict, the sauce was cold and it had very little flavor (I tried it and yes cold and no flavor). When asked to heat the sauces, it returns to the table even colder. Must say that was a disappointment. I had the Irish hash, cornbeef was fresh and the cabbage was good. Sad enough, not much corn beef and even less cabbage but LOADED with hash browns. Again, not as much flavor as hoped for. Love the feel of the establishment, more so the decors and ceiling. I not sure I would go out of my way to return because the food temp, minimal flavor, and using a large amount of potatoes to hide the minimal corn beef & cabbage. .

Neat cafe in reclaimed spaces with eclectic vibe. I found menu options to be delicious and inspired breakfast/brunch selections. Service was helpful in deciding but also sharing the flow of the restaurant - self serve coffee bar. Food arrived quickly and tickled all 5 senses. Fun brunch date location... will be bringing my girlfriend next time.

Our Airbnb was right around the corner from here, so we decided to stop by for breakfast. Service was excellent. There seemed to be a good amount of regulars dining in, but newbies like us were warmly welcomed. We let our server know it was our first time. She walked us through the menu and even brought us some delicious, complimentary griddled carrot cake to try. The coffee was self-serve. They were several yummy blends to try. Our classic breakfast dishes were very good. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you stop by and support this restaurant.

The breakfast was excellent, good temperature of the egg and corned beef, grits very good too. Our server she was very pleasant and attentive. We were sitting down outside area very nice accommodations, peaceful atmosphere.

Came here for brunch with a friend and I can't complain, everything tasted great! I made my own omelet and it was truly stuffed to the brim. They don't skimp on portions that's for sure! Just remember to come with a charged phone so that you can order and pay from it (this was new for me). It really streamlines everything and the servers are pretty on top of it all.

Been meaning to come here for a while and it didn't disappoint! Received a grilled muffin as first time visitors- so good. Pancakes were fluffy & largeeeee serving size. Breakfast sandwich was good but nothing special. Atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Good service..you can order online or at the counter (prices are online but not on paper menu). Great experience overall!!

This place was packed when we got here for breakfast, parking was a the same. We were immediately greeted and were able to take a seat outdoors. Thankfully, it wasn't a terribly hot time of day and we ended up being moved indoors before our food arrived. The place is has amusing wall decor. The coffee station is self serve and endless. There were several unsweetened flavored coffees along with unflavored coffee. Freshly brewed and piping hot, it's a good cup from nearby Screaming Cat Ice Cream & Coffee. Hubby ordered the ultimate sandwich and was shocked to be unable to finish it. A half sandwich is more than enough for a single serving. The taste was right on with a nice crispy bacon and gooey cheese. I had the southern duo, which was tasty, but needed a little extra kick. The biscuit was a nice treat with the gravy. The chicken was good, but I wanted something more with it. Some more crunch or even additional flavor profiles. Was more than enough to share or have another serving later. Servers were highly friendly. To be noted, there is an automatic 10% tip added to the bill. The server made me aware they aren't able to accept any tips. At the end of the check, I was prompted to leave an additional tip on top of the automatic tip. I am concerned this is not going to the employee directly. Overall, would definitely come back here.

I took my sister here as a first time. She absolutely loved the service and food. Cool Moose is such a vibe and it's such a relaxing environment. I had coffee, eggs, cheese grits and potatoes. They brought our table a complimentary cranberry muffin and it had both of us speaking a secret language. Everything was fresh and we saw the customers evolve from silent eating to conversations with neighbors. This is a small business that always delivers and caters to all who enter. Please visit if you want a a quaint breakfast that packs all the emotions and seasonings of a mother's kitchen. Everything is made with love.

This was our first visit to this establishment and we will be back. I had the Irish hash for breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the unique mix of flavors. This is not your average hash. They were plenty busy, but the tables were rotating just fine. Staff was very friendly and answer questions about my gluten allergy, too. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Nice ambience.

Decided to check out Cool Moose Cafe for breakfast. It's a pretty casual-style establishment with a waiter/waitress to assist you but you have the ability to order/pay through your phone which I thought was neat. We got there early so it wasn't much of a wait but after 11:00 it began to get pretty busy. I ordered the French toast and a side of home fries with added chorizo and American cheese. I will say the food was pretty standard - not bad but definitely something I could replicate at home. On a positive note though, the service was good and the host at the door was super kind!!

Cool moose cafe is a small cute breakfast/brunch place in the Riverside/Avondale area. We went on a Sunday morning and did have a little bit of a wait time, ~30 minutes but we went down the street to a little book shop while we waited. The food was good, it was flavorful, typical of most brunch places. They had buy one get one mimosas which was nice and those tasted great! They also gave us a complimentary toasted muffin since it was our first time there. The coffee is a self serve bar and you have to either order from a QR code or go up to the counter so not much interactions with the waiters. I would definitely consider going back to try something else on the menu!

Rise and shine breakfast. Very good.

This is an interesting place. The menu that is handed to you does not have prices on it. The scan of the menu does have prices. And you can order and pay for it thru your phone. Or you can walk up to counter and order but you get hit with a 10% fee. Either way it is very eclectic style of restaurant. Had the rise and shine breakfast and did the self serve coffee bar with a pretty good selection of regular or flavored coffee. I ordered my breakfast with English muffin. And it was grilled. Very good. Breakfast was very good and people that work there are very helpful. Just a bit different style of restaurant. Still worth going and possibly going back now that I know the routine.

    Grilled Hot Stuffed Veggie Pita
    Nelma P.

It's been years since I've been to Cool Moose & my has it changed. I wish I could say for the better. They only take orders at the cashier or on a QR code at your table. The food choices have not changed much. The menu does not show pricing. This forces you to go online to see prices. The Grilled Veggie Pita was tasty with Pesto & Feta Cheese. The 2 egg breakfast with 2 Turkey sausage patties were ok. Ambiance is informal. Though the two wait staff I saw are very nice, they lost the warmth I remember so well. I might as well get my food from a vending machine. Not a favorite anymore. They've lost the lovin' feeling. Sad.

Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! We loved the gambas al ajillo -- the shrimp had great flavor and just the right amount of heat -- and the grilled sourdough was perfect for soaking up every bit of the delicious sauce. A few things fell short, though. Our table for two felt cramped, especially since it was positioned directly against a wooden divider. I was facing the back of the restaurant, so as right-hander, sitting up against the wall felt awkward and made the space feel even tighter. I'm a huge fan of seafood stews and almost always order them when I see one on the menu, so I was looking forward to the Sicilian Stew. While the overall flavor was good, it leaned a bit too salty for my taste. More disappointing was the fish itself -- it seemed cooked down and stirred into the broth to the point where it acted more like a thickener than a distinct part of the dish. I would have preferred visible pieces of fish with more texture and presence. Overall, the staff was warm and attentive, the service was excellent, and the food arrived promptly. The overall restaurant looked clean and great for a date night. We weren't feeling too hungry so we ordered the following based on the waitress and our friend's recommendations: 1) Crispy Brussels sprouts 2) Duck Fat Corn Bread 3) House made pasta + sugo The crispy brussels sprouts were a bit undercooked and lacked flavor but if you prefer a less crispy Brussel sprout dish I would recommend it over the duck fat corn bread. The duck fat corn bread was disappointing. It was an odd combination of flavors that did not mix very well. The corn bread was mushy and the crisp Napa cabbage with the random ranch/spicy sauce combo did not pair well and left my mouth feeling confused. I had high expectations for their house made pasta as they had a pasta maker out for viewing. The pasta was overcooked and every bite was an interesting mix of flavors...some bites salty...some bites unseasoned. There was barely any meat present and overall we ended up not finishing our meal and wrapping up the night. The only good thing we had was the homemade soda that I did not get a picture of but I believe was the hibiscus one. Overall I would recommend this place for drinks but not dinner.
