I'm glad to see that people with kids don't get to jump to the front of the line completely. They now board after group A. It says it is limited to families with children under 4, but that isn't enforced. It still isn't right that they get any sort of priority, but after learning my lesson last time I paid to be in group A for a little more money. read more

The flight crew is always friendly, and leave you alone if you are sleeping. Cabin is clean. I love the early bird check-in, and the two free checked bags! Just wish they would let larger dogs in the cabin. read more

My flight was for 10:55. I got there and forgot my anxiety medicine around 10:30 and had somebody drop it off. Next thing I know I got there at 10:50 and already left. Plus the fact I notified the attendants and they did not give a **** .. Way to go southwest. You disappointed me again. read more

The City really needs to hurry up and shut this airport down. It's a really big germ fest in here. Hated hated hated to take off my shoes because the carpet is so nasty.. if I ever travel through here again I will be sure to bring socks I can dispose of when I get through security then take out some clean ones. There are no great places to eat in here and you'd think they'd have some of the best restaurants that represent this city but they do not. They don't have a Starbucks in here so I thought I'd try a different place so my boyfriend went to get me some hot chocolate and as the lady was making it, three roaches came from under the maker. The worker just continued on as if nothing was happening which let us know that they've been around. He quickly declined the drinks and moved on. This makes me not want to eat anything out of this airport. Sometime just small changes can go a long way.... please start with getting rid of the roaches. First, I want to say that Southwest has ALWAYS been my first choice when it comes to flying. With that being said, the representative at NOLA airport, Southwest gate B2 at the last 7:15pm flight to Nashville on Sunday 9/2/18 may have changed my choice going forward. We arrived to the airport 3 hours before our flight and was told when we checked our luggage to be at the gate at 7:15 for boarding. We arrived at 7:15 to find the flight had already boarded and was ready to pull off the tarmac. The rep greeted us with "Oh now you show up, a little too late"....to our confusion. Told me he called us multiple times, however mispronounced both our names, told us it was the end of his shift and threw two boarding passes at us. I asked where and when were we leaving and he said "read your boarding pass" I finally asked him to stop with his sarcasm and be-belittling of me AND my daughter and please help us this had never happened before, and he again said "Read your boarding pass and I suggest you not be late this time!!!" ... I have NEVER been treated so rudely before and was appalled at the lack of empathy for us and our situation. He basically left us stranded at the airport with no direction whatsoever. read more

I always have a great, no hassle experience flying with Southwest. This is easily the best of all the discount airlines with mobile boarding passes, free checked bag, etc. Never had trouble flying with my pets either. Overall I have nothing bad to say, especially when you compare to sh**ty airlines like Spirit. read more

2 weeks ago I flew Southwest Airlines out of New Orleans for the first time to North Carolina I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. I did not know how it was going to work because they do not assign seating but instead of confusion it worked very well. There was plenty of leg room in between seating and I had great seats. If southwest comes to Mobile look out Delta and on Southwest you can have up to two bags with no charge. Great flight! read more

My parents was on a round trip from Msy to Dallas-love.. The trip there was straight.. But the ride back just went down hill.. Sister drop them off late but still on time.. Turns out plane had problem so they went on different flight.. But no one told them it not direct flight ( they didn't speak English.. Lol) so they got off in Houston thinking it was New Orleans.. The staff in Houston was very helpful got them transfer and back at new gate to get home.. Thanks Guys for watching out for them read more

Just recently flew SWA to Orlando with my family. The flight crew was not that great,and the in-flight service was very disappointing. I guess this is what you get with flying a no thrills airline though. The plane was extremely clean,and plenty of leg room! I did enjoy the free carrion bags,and the Checkin desk people "very helpful,and friendly" all in all for what I paid it was a good flight. read more

I will never fly southwest ever ever again. They don't sh*t together, they can't tell us what is going on with our flight to Arizona!!!!!!!!!!! They told us it was going to be 20 min delay and then we would be able to board our flight, after 30 min and then another 10 min went by they come and tell us that we will not be flying till 2:22 or we will have to switch flight. I've flown South West a couple of times out of New Orleans, and I have very mixed emotions. They treat thier passangers like cattle during boarding, and the gate agents are less than thrilled to help you when somethings wrong with the plane, or the flights been cancled or delayed. I'm not quite sure why people love Southwest flight attendants personally I think there quite obnoxious, and Southwest does not offer very good leg room. For anyone who doesn't mind to pay a little more for alot better service I would reconmend Delta, or Jetblue out of New Orleans. read more

OK i'm not entirely sure if I'm reviewing the airline itself or just the hubs in the airport so I will review both. This was my first time flying Southwest and overall I must say that I am very satisfied and will be flying SW as much as possible. A) they were the only ones offering nonstop to NOLA when I bought B) the price was reasonable C) for an extra $20 being able to get on the plane before other people was priceless. IDK what it is about this airline, I honestly was prepared for a giant shit-show. In general when the public must fend for themselves so to speak they don't do very well. It seemed to me that the ability to sit wherever you want, first come first served worked really well. The plane felt like it boarded faster and more efficiently than any United flight I had been on previously. No tv's but they do offer wifi for $8. They do the typical beverage service, and peanuts/pretzels. My flights left and arrived on time...I was a happy girl. The hubs were also quite pleasant. Way less crowded than United usually is, clean, charging stations available. I will definitely be flying SW again. read more

Always fly Southwest and don't usually have any issue but today's experience led me to feel compelled to say something. Flew from Houston to New Orleans. I had checked a bag in Houston. When we arrived, went to the baggage claim, and waited.. A long time. Everyone seemingly got their bags and left. A few of us from Houston did waited for over 30 minutes. Another flight arrived on the carousel. No indication of why my bags and theirs were not on the carousel. Another passenger came and announced to the group of about 10 of us that she found her bag at the Southwest counter. So went over there. The attendant acted like she could care less and yes there were everyone's bags piled up. Swa put them on a different, earlier flight. It was only about 50 feet from her counter to the area where my flight had gathered. She should have made an announcement or something since the luggage was all from our flight. No sense of urgency no great customer service and her name tag tucked in so we could not see her name. For whatever it's worth it was Oct 8th flight 1689. Maybe someone from corporate would take the time to figure out who was working the baggage claim counter. Horrible service from that person. read more

The only reason I gave the airline two stars is the fact that the flight crew are competent. Our flights to Memphis we're delayed 4 hours, our flight to Houston was delayed and the people checking us in were very rude. We rarely fly Southwest and now remember why, very poor on time flight service. Lenny, at the check in desk was especially rude. All four of us agreed no more Southwest Airlines. read more

I have to say, I am a very nervous flyer. I mean, I don't have to, but I should. I don't like the taking off part. Not a huge fan of the landing part either. Come to think of it, I really don't like the part in between all the much. Anyway, I've never ridden AirTran and was really happy with the outcome. Even with our flights being delay due to weather they were super helpful. But I really couldn't care about the flights being delayed, cause if they are taking their time with something or avoiding something to keep me safer, I'm for it. Now about the weather; it was really windy, rainy and foggy in every part of the country on both travel days. So my anxiety was a little higher than usual. But all four flights I took with AirTran, from Boston to Atlanta to New Orleans and the reverse, were very smooth. The pilots and the rest of team were great. All in all, I'm happy with how everything turned out and am actually looking forward to my next flight, which will definitely be through Southwest / AirTran. read more

First and last time I will fly Southwest. The flight attendants were so rude. I ordered a cocktail, and when he was charging my card, he asked "would you like to donate money to my sons's college fund?" I really didn't know exactly what he was asking, so I said no. Once I started getting an attitude from him, I soon realized he was asking for a tip. I was planning on tipping him cash when he brought my drink, but after his rude attitude I didn't. Is that okay with the company be asking for 'donations' for his son's college fund? If I was the CEO of Southwest, I would be upset that the flight attendant were making customers uncomfortable. read more

Mooo is what you should be saying on this airline. It's a no frills cattle carrier. I love it because you get free bags and a soda if your nice. They even throw peanuts to all the monkeys in the seats. It's great and they out up with your bs or stupid people that have no idea how to fly. Jump on in line and off you go... read more

Everyone here in the New Orleans Southwest Airport was so disrespectful. For the amount of money I paid for these flights the service was ridiculous. I understand it was a crazy day, but you don't ever tell your customers to step aside because you don't want to handle that problem now. read more

Not a review on MSY. I had to talk to a representative on the phone a few days ago. They asked me for my credit card number. I gave them a card number I rarely use. Today I get a call from that credit card company that there are questionable charges. Yep! My card information was stolen and illegal charges made. Not sure if it was the SW rep, but I never use that card. I can't think of any place else... very suspicious! read more
