And the fact that there's an area for the kids to play is a huge plus. Initially, I was hoping the play area would've been integrated into the main room so adults could drink their coffees and chat, but it's not - it's a seperate room with no food allowed and only adults can bring their drinks in. However there is an advantage to this setup - kids can be more easily "contained" and patrons who just want to enjoy a cup of coffee can do so in relative quiet without kids running everywhere. read more

We went on Saturday night and there was live music playing and they were pretty good. This place have a lot of board games so if you just want to chill out with your buddies it's awesome. If you happen to go when they are playing then it becomes cherry on top. We ordered English toffee with hazelnut cream the coffee was okay. Nothing too extraordinary. I would not go back for the coffee but the place as a whole. Hopefully next time I get something which might want me to go there for the coffee. Okay so we were out for a drive and husband craved coffee, and so we found this place. It definitely looked promising from the outside, but it wasn't anything special aa we entered. He got the hazel mocha which was a 3/5. It's a casual spot and maybe good for students or even adults looking for a spot to just sit and enjoy coffee and provide play board games (that they offer) but the coffee didn't cut it for us. I'm not sure if I'd visit again but if I do, I'll update my rating if I have a better experience. read more

What a great place! They are located next to the largest candy store I think I have ever seen. The coffee is great, and the friendly staff are even better. The prices are very affordable, which in my book, drives up their quality. There is a stage off to the side that is filled with drums, mics on stands, floor monitors etc. The live shows must be pretty good. They didn't skimp on the equipment. You can tell someone has a background in music. I would love to catch a show one day. My favorite part of this place was how wide open with PLENTY of seating. I'm talking sofas.....really comfortable seating. I was drinking coffee and studying, and I didn't want to leave because it was so comfortable. One of my favorite places for coffee. I came here with my boyfriend and the barista asked him if he wanted "an inch of creamer" in his cold brew wtf? He ended up giving him 80% creamer and splash of cold brew. It was sooooo bad. This place seems really cool and fun but we love coffee and this was not good coffee. Anyone could've looked at that cold brew cup and saw that it was basically white. A local Chandler Coffee Shop that has very talented local artists taking their turns entertaining the crowd as they relax enjoying their favorite cup perfectly concocted to their liking. The atmosphere is comfortable, open and chill. Seating is plentiful in either oversized leather chairs or couches or have your group gather at individual tables. I love this place. When I walked in I instantly felt welcomed by whoever was working there. The space didn't feel overwhelming at all. If you're looking to get work done here and spend quality time with a friend this is the place to go. Their slogan is "coffee with a cause" and they live that out. I asked about which tea to get and the person walked me through and recommended flavors very kindly versus a barista who thinks the customer should know everything. SoZo is really just so so. Admittedly this is from one trip and that too on a mid afternoon. The cold coffees we asked for were identical although one was asked for with an extra shot and the other with light ice. The atmosphere is laid back , open seating, enough space to kick back and enjoy the music (I believe they have bands play) but nothing really making it a stand out coffee shop. Very impressed with this shop. I don't drink coffee anymore, but as a former Cartel Coffee Lab barista, I can tell the baristas understand and love specialty coffee! They have single origin beans and do pour overs. My favorite thing about this place is that they have a great tea selection from Maya Tea Company. They have yerba mate!! As I only drink herbal teas, love the coffee shop culture and environment, and desire caffeine, I prefer every coffee shop to source yerba mate! The barista did not over- concentrate or over-steep the drink. He was very friendly and informed about SoZo's coffee beans and teas. It's a really good place to go after school and study but the drinks are very inconsistent. Meaning that your drink won't taste the same every time you go. I had ask for a cup ice because the barista didn't completely ice my drink and it was warm at the bottom but not the tip. I even tried mixing it with a straw. I was told to grab a little plastic cup on the top of the water machine in the back. He took the cup and put ice into it. I then notice the barista hair had fallen into the cup of ice I asked for and when I confronted the owner about it he made seem as if I placed it in there. When I know that I handed the barista the cup it had no hair in there. My friend asked for a latte with cold foam and was told that he couldn't make it because it doesn't go in there but let me remind you that she got a latte with cold foam about a week before. He just didn't want to make it and when he made her the drink that he suggested go with cold foam it tasted horrible and when I told the manger he told me that I need to be specific and still preceded to make the drink incorrect. I'm not sure it was just the barista who was working at the time but I personally would not being going back when he is working a shift. read more

i came here a few times for my friend's open mic performances. although having heard some of the worst mid life crisis kenny rogers try hard esque garbage i continued to go to support my frien d. i was neutral about going and would often bring my migraine plugs with me and do my homework until she went. that was until the owner (like mid 60s) decided to dm my friend (18) and offer unsolicited advice that crossed the lines into cyberbullying. she told her that her singling is awful. i was especially not impressed when she continued to talk about how she knows business. really? because as someone who is graduating class of 23 at asu for business studies, i would assume you wouldn't cyberbully your customers and people you openly invite to your business to perform. additionally, she had left angry replies to other google reviewers? I am amazed and confused by the 5 star ratings by most reviewers of this coffeehouse. My first visit to SoZo Coffeehouse was a grave disappointment. I think they mean well, but the execution was quite flawed. The menu board is cryptic at best, with no explanations or prices, so you have to waste everyone's time asking for explanations. At least the young woman who waited on me was very friendly and didn't seem to mind explaining the menu. Co-chata (a latte made with horchata instead of milk) sounded interesting, but I chickened out and ordered a small latte. It was not especially hot, and the flavor was mediocre at best. I'm not sure where they source their beans, but the final product was weak and did not have a good roasted flavor. Some friends had heard that there would be live music at SoZo on Monday night. I love live music and was thrilled to hear that this local business supports it. Friends were told it was a national act, so we decided to check it out. The music started half an hour late (not uncommon with live performances I know, but still annoying). The band, such as it was, (normally 5 members, but only one regular and a substitute showed up) was definitely aimed at a younger crowd than my friends and I. Very screamy with uninspired guitar playing, but the lead guy sure could stomp his foot. We left as soon as we thought we could without being rude. I threw away over half my latte on the way out. The place is quite large for a coffeehouse, however the ambiance was not inviting, comfortable or cozy, in my opinion. I realize everyone's taste in music and coffee is different, but I thought both the music and the coffee left so much to be desired that I won't be going back. We wanted a coffee drink for desert one night after dinner, but the more popular places (like the place with the mermaid logo!) close a little early to make that sort of thing happen. We looked at the trusty yelp, and found this gem! Live music, games available, casual seating options, in a super casual setting. Not pretentious at all. All ages were in there. Service was a little slow. The guy at the counter seemed a little . . . . high? Still pleasant and enjoyable though. Looked like a meeting space in the back in a separate room. We had a warm cookie. I had a chai latte that was to die for - and I've had them from all the more popular places. It might be my new favorite!! We'll be in again! read more

This is by far my favorite coffeehouse I've ever been to, way better then the ones in California. I just recently moved from California about a week ago and I went into SoZo and Dean was working, SUPER sweet, I had explained to him that I had never been there before and I'm new to the area and he helped me choose a drink, the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte. I went in everyday after that and got the same thing, then I went in on Friday and dean wasn't working, it was Bri, she is just one of the sweetest and nicest people I've ever met, I told her to surprise me with a drink and I LOVED it. So I really like the place. The atmosphere is great and quiet when you need it to be. However I am not a fan of their coffee or tea. I was especially disappointed with their latte anyway ago. I came back to see if it changed. Nope. Tried a dirty chai last time I checked in. They use a powder but the powder TASTES like powder. Call me a coffee snob, but with the horrible espresso and the powdery chai it was not a win for me. I ended up leaving and studying at another coffee shop. This coffee shop is not a comfy, cozy coffee shop feel. It's really big and there's scattered leather couches, tables and chairs. There's a HUGE stage which is neat but just the entire atmosphere felt so off. There's a random playroom tucked in the back corner of this place which was so weird to me! Like it's sweet and all for the kiddos but not a great utilization of space. I would think having it for meetings would of been better for the type of demographic of people that come here. My Toddy was super weak and very watered down maybe an off batch. Probably wouldn't be back. I am surprised by the amount of good reviews for this place to be honest. read more

I did not get a chance to go inside because when we walked up really loud music was playing, so I couldn't go in because I had my infant daughter with us.
