How this place has anything over a 2-3 star average is beyond me. I walked in at 9:25 on a Saturday morning and ordered myself a cold brew and white mocha for my wife. I also ordered 2 breakfast burritos since they didn't have any muffins. The gentleman taking my order seemed to have forgotten my order about 4 seconds after he took my order and wrote it on a post it pad. Both staff members working were , what I would consider, shirt and odd standing. No friendly attitude in the air and it seems like me being there was a burden. My cold brew was about 3 oz of coffee and I watched the rest filled with purified water. The coffee was terrible for both drinks and the burritos were the microwave style from your local gas station put into a panini press. They are still frozen on the inside when I got them home. I had to heat them up myself to get them to be warm and they tasted like cardboard. 1/5 stars. I wouldn't return under any circumstance. read more

Depresso: The feeling you get when you run out of coffee. SoZo knows what's up. This place gives me energy all day and all night to the point where my heart is about to jump out of my throat still... 12 hours later! They make some fun flavors like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and offers Italian cream sodas wihch are my favorite. They also have an exciting ever-changing drink of the week menu you should take a peek at. This weeks, Aloha Hola [macadamia nut syrup with horchata], is amazing. It's a much more casual spot than the snooty hipster place across the way. It's brighter, there are lots of artwork for sale on the walls, and there are comfy squishy couches all over the place. It's roomy with ample seating! The baristas are nice and are always pleasant to talk to and offer suggestions when you're being wishy-washy. All in all, this is a great place to relax and hide from the hot summer sun. read more

nice large coffee shop with evening hours. They've improved a lot since I tried it a couple of years ago. They use Cartel coffee which is the best. But they only have plastic cups which I don't find inviting for a coffee shop. And the service isn't that great, (make wrong coffee, forget your order). They have bands at night, poetry nights. I think that's great for our community. And tons of room with comfy seating which most coffee places lack. I recommend a visit!! read more

Wooooooooow.... What in the world was that? That was terrible. Heartbreaking. The female owner (I think that's who it is anyway) is the problem and should be embarrassed of herself. It was open mic night and this delightful young lady, maybe 13 years old, built up the courage to play in front of people. Halfway through their first song, this lady walks out and starts to berate her. Absolutely disgusting! Wrong key? Who cares!? It's open mic night, at a random coffee shop, and she's a young musician just trying to do her thing. Let her cook! How does the owner sleep at night knowing that she kills the dreams of young women like that? That was crazy. Beautiful place, really a cozy setup inside, they've got a bar to sit at, tables and chairs, couches and an awesome stage. Great coffee and food. Love the open mic nights and the free shows. They really support artists there, if your open mic set is good and you show you know how to engage the people, they'll invite you to play a show and then even pay you for it, it's really a cool gig and they make you feel very welcome. I can't believe I stumbled into SoZo one evening when I desperately needed coffee to make it through my nephews school orientation. When I lived in Chandler I passed it all the time but never thought to stop. As soon as I walked in a felt so welcome. It happened to be open-mic night so there was a cool crowd and live band playing. The barista was super cool immediately recognized that it was my first time in so gave me a rundown of the place, a little history and the cool monthly events they have. The overall place is very cute. The coffee is tasty and the treats are really good however we had a horrible experience with Molly. Her rude attitude made my children upset and we felt uncomfortable being in the establishment. After she harassed my son we chose to leave immediately. I schedule almost all of my business meetings on the SE side at Sozo Coffee. #1 the have a kids room. Riancito, my 3 yr old son, goes with me everywhere and this makes it very convenient. #2 their vegan pastries are delicious! #3 it's a locally owned business that has top notch staff and service. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the chandler area to use for business meetings. read more

Great lattes, good breakfast burritos, huge cafe so you can spread out and be with more than one friend at a time, couches/tables a plenty. I've worked from this shop a couple of times, it is a bit loud [this was not during the live music nights] and the Wi-Fi is spotty. Other than that, this spot is fun. read more

Love Sozo! This is my go to coffee shop now! From the drinks to the staff and the environment and vibes, this place just has it all. This is not just a typical coffee shop where when you ask for a hot coffee they'll pour it out of a batch that's been sitting for hours brewed early in the morning. No, instead each cup is made to order and it shows just the little details they do so well! The staff is great, I have never came across someone working that I had a bad experience with! Each staff member is so personable and sociable making for a great experience at the coffee bar. Also what this place has that most coffee shops do not have is its sheer size. This coffeehouse was packed with people on a Saturday. It seems like a perfect spot to meet with friends or see a local musician on their stage. I enjoyed the location, but the coffee was only average. My husband ordered a cold brew that was very watered down and lacked flavor. I ordered a dirty iced chai with light ice. They still filled the entire cup with ice. It was a little sweeter than I normally like, but it still had good flavor. I have a dairy allergy and the baristas were so accommodating! When I told them I had an allergy they immediately offered to let me read ingredient labels and worked with me to figure out a drink I could have. I was able to get a vegan pastry (they even had a few different options) and they made me a special drink - a Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte! This a great find, especially for Chandler!!! I prefer this place more than Rush Coffee. The lay of this place is open and LOTS of comfy couches to relax and mingle with your friends. This has a very modern feel and look that is very inviting. Not only is the design of the place good, but the company is partnered with organizations that have a cause to fight: Blood: Water Mission, Kiva, Boys & Girls Club, World Vision, The Water Project, and so much more. They welcome donations to help fight causes throughout the community. This is going to be my new place to come!! Although, they have limited hours - which could deter some new clients... maybe if they get enough traffic through the door, they'd think about changing their time schedules. read more

Love the concept and my latte was delicious! This coffee house is big, roomy and has lots of great options for your seating of choice. I agree that they should list their pricing on their big list of menu items and perhaps offer a little more in the bakery selection, but the coffee is reasonably priced $4 latte and the big biscotti was delicious. I went here yesterday because I had a living social deal for 6 coffees (whoa!). So the place is kind of hidden in the 99 cent store strip mall, but once I was there I realized the coffee shop space was huge! It's a nice space, not super 'coffee shop' -esque, but nice. There was not lack of places to sit. Also, the barista, I think her name was Christine (?), was very friendly, and I learned she was volunteering there yesterday to cover someone's lunch.... that is super nice. So I ordered a latte and a chocolate chip scone. The latte was just alright, definitely not the best I've had in town, but I would still prefer it to Starbucks. The scone was extremely sweet, not bad, but not something I would necessarily order again. If you like very sweet desserts, that one is for you! I think it'd be nice to support this business as it does donate to charity and it has a nice family owned feel. p.s. they have live music on Saturday nights. read more

When I visited today, there was a piano recital by some young children (cute and unexpected). I appreciate the engagement with the community. I guess the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the aesthetics; the place is kind of plain and boring when you compare it to the vibe of some other coffee shops. I know it's not the most important consideration for a lot of people, but if the ambiance was a little more interesting I would give it 5 stars. read more

One of our favorites. Live music, free WiFi, affordable drinks, board games, relaxed seating. Their open mic nights are great to enjoy some local music (almost every 2 weeks). Get an Italian soda! I've only been there a couple of times in the morning, but I really like the place. I'm retired, so I like to get coffee in the morning and people watch (exciting, huh?). I like the seating here, a lot of soft chairs and sofas. Coffee is good, friendly staff, and they seem to know a lot of the people that come in. They have a big area for entertainment at night. I'm going to go see open mike night tonight, to watch not participate, I'm no sadist OR masochist . I'll let you know how that goes. All in all so far, it's a bit hit. read more
