I live in Glendale but have my hair done in Claremont. I was in Claremont for my hair appt Saturday thought might as well get my nails done here as well. Reviews for Spa Boutique were good so I thought I'd give them a try. I went in for a Gel Manicure on Saturday by Wednesday one of my nails had already chipped. I wasn't going to post my disappointment with Spa Boutique until I noticed a second chip on my nails. My Gel manicures always last at least 2 weeks sometimes 3. The woman who did my manicure was very nice. The Spa Boutique is small, clean, and quiet. Just wish my $30 manicure would have lasted more the 5 days. read more

Only $15 for a pedi, then I realized why. When they saw my nails, the said I needed "extra treatment" for an add'l $5 which was only wax in a plastic bag that did nothing for my hands. Later that night, I realized that the polish was already coming off and that they did not polish my nails like a professional. Even my daughter noticed, as she thought I polished them myself. I have mixed feelings about this place. The atmosphere is chatty and happy -- they include new clients in the conversation and the owner tries to get to know you. My mani and pedi were good enough to go back, but not astounding. What bothered me, like the other annoyed reviewers, is the assumption on my services. I wasn't asked about pedicure options... I guess the default is the most expensive one, which I feel is borderline deceptive. My pedi looks fine, but the whole experience (scrub, so-so massage and hot rocks that I could barely feel) wasn't worth the extra bucks. I also feel that for the prices they charge (for Claremont), they should have a better polish selection. I'll try other places.... but might be back. read more

Just moved back to the area, and I went in because they have a sign that says, "Threading by Tanu." I prefer threading for my brows and lip. Tanu was amazing! Lightning fast and it was not at all painful. I've had some threading that was painful and some that was more manageable, but this was pain-free. My daughter and I have been a regular customers of this salon for over 4 years. We are LOVE IT soooo much. Natalie and Tammy and other ladies are super friendly and very sweet. They know your names, chat, and pay attention to you the whole time you are there. All services are excellence. My gel manis and pedis last at least 3 weeks. The waxing is very good. We got pedicures done for $25 each and I left a $4 tip per person. $25 is on the low end but not amazingly inexpensive. The hot stone massage made it worth it, though. So far, it's been a week and it's lasted. It's smudged a little so the texture is off but that's probably my fault for doing something while it was wet. I've been coming here since my daughter was in a baby seat and would snooze quietly while the owners cooed over her. She's five now and a big treat for her is a little pedicure from Tammy or Natalie. Spa Boutique is clean, comfortable and quiet. The pedicures are the best in the area. Three words: Hot Rock Massage. My husband will even agree to get his feet maintained with the promise of that hot rock massage. I don't do acrylics anymore but the manicures are always nice. I went to this place in August of 2011 with my wife, 2 kids and sister in law who was in town and had never had a pedicure. My sister in law got the "new" girl which we did not realize until the middle of her pedi as the owner kept checking on her and then finished up. I too was given services as was my wife that cost money and were not asked or told until it was time to pay. The owner did my nails and filed them so hard that it rubbed my toe skin raw. When I called the next day she told me to put some neo-sporin on it. I told her I did not want to put neo-sporin on a $40 dollar pedi. I went in to get $10 refunded for services charged and she looked at my toes and said "oh yeah, they just got filed too close, just put some neo-sporin on them". I re-stated that I did not want to have to do that and she said "Oh, do you want me to do it?". Obviously we have not been back since. read more

The women nail salon-istes are really wonderful! I was going here weekly for a while , and they always recognized me and said hi! Even when I walked by their store when I was walking around Claremont village, they would say hi! They also sometimes didn't charge me for flowers on my nails since I always got flowers! I only stopped going once I started getting to be more stingy! Also, I love paraffin wax, so you just have to ask--also if you're concerned about pricing you can ask for the cheapest option! :) Also, the atmosphere is really nice and calm--no TV to bother you, nice music (sometimes it's in French!) and super comfy chairs for pedicures! read more

Went for the first time today and my experience was very nice. The women who work here are very friendly and talk to you the whole time (unlike other salons I've been to where they only talk to each other). I had a full pedicure and gel manicure and it cost me $60. A little pricey but they did a great job and the pedicure massage was really nice. The shop is very cute and clean, definitely well maintained and their customers are mostly regulars that they know by name so obviously it's a good salon. I have been here two times now, and each time has been extremely disappointing. I waited an hour before even getting in the chair and only one person was there! Then, Natalie did my toes and put the water on a scorching hot temperature that burned my feet. She then rushed through cleaning up my toenails and then massaged my feet for less than a minute. When she began painting my toes I noticed mistakes, that I assumed she would clean up when she was done. She left me with paint all over the skin on my toes and with horribly trimmed nails. And then charged me for a very expensive pedicure. Over all, this is a horrible nail salon and I will make sure to tell people to not come to this salon. read more

Absolutely do NOT GO HERE for waxing! This woman should not be certified in waxing. Im worried that my bikini line is permanently damaged. She didn't hold the skin taught so there was bruising and bleeding - something I never normally get from waxes. The wax job was patchy, the wax she used stuck on me for days, she waxed in weird places and not others. I eventually told her to just stop. I honestly don't think she knew what she was doing. She didn't use any antiseptic wipe prior to waxing. Overall very concerning. I have never written a Yelp review, but this experience was so bad, it prompted me to make an account just to inform others not to go here. read more

i'm in love with the two ladies who run spa boutique. i came in on a recomendation of a friend's friend who's now kinda my friend so i guess i'll say a friend. the shop is way cute. the ladies are way friendly. they speak english the whole time which i thought was a considerate thing to do considering most salons i go to. i'm pretty positive that even tho MY pedi lady told me the lady next to her just told her i have pretty eyes..she probably really said my feet are ugly and smelly. otherwise why would my lady have laughed after she said it? seriously. i digress... i was told that for $30 (yes..that's kinda steep) i would get scrubbed and there'd be hot rocks involved. so while i was weary at $30 i was in it to win it with hot rocks. and honestly..i don't know about you..but i usually end up spending close to $30 anyway cuz i add calus remover and extra massage and salt scrub and cooling creme..and i've never even HAD the option of hot rocks. so...the $30 was well worth it, i promise. i am very happy with the quality..and the amount of time. she took her time on the right things...scrub, cooling creme, massage...and was very efficient when it came to trimming, filing, painting, etc. they don't push flowers or a design on you at all. i'll definitely return. read more

I had a terrible experience here. My friend came to visit from out of town and I called to make an appointment for both of us to have mani pedis. This was actually a big deal for me as I had some time off work and my son was in daycare allowing for some really rare girl bonding time with a friend I don't see often. Our appointment was for 3:30 and when we arrived a few minutes early they told us they were running 10 minutes behind. They had taken an entire bridal party and all the stations were full. About 30 minutes later, they finally set up pedicure stations for us... and then left our feet soaking with no service or communication for another half hour. Finally, one full hour after our appointment time, we got up to leave. As we were leaving, one of the technicians told us not to go and that they would get started on one of us right away. Just one of us? We said no thank you. It is a small place with only four pedicure chairs and three manicure stations, so it's not like they didn't know we there and waiting. We were never offered refreshments or updated on the time. This really pissed me off. It's too bad because I was trying out that place to see if I wanted to get regular services there and they lost a potential loyal customer. I will not be going back and I will recommend people away from there. I know they were busy but we had an appointment. That's just horrible customer service. Shame on them. read more

I have been going to spa botique weekly for almost 10 years and I would never even consider going anywhere else. The women are so friendly and they remember everyones name which i think makes me feel special. they have magazines to read in case I forget to bring my kindle and they will talk to you or leave you alone depending on your mood that day. I usually have my service done by natalie and she is totally amazing. She really pays attention to detail and will soak my feet in paraffin if they are dry without me even asking or charging me extra. I had been to other places before i found this one and what really bugged me is fake niceness or pushing designs or other services on me. I never have that experience at spa botique.they are genuinely nice and make you feel pampered without nickel and diming you to death. They charge 30-40 straight up and give you the works. I have taken all of my family there and my daughter loves getting her mini pedicure there too. I recommend it to everyone who asks me where I have my toes done. read more
