Unlike most nail salons they only tell you to come in if they know they have time to fit you in. I've come here once to get waxed and let me say Kim is the best waxer I've ever had. She was fast, friendly and efficient. I recently came here for my pink and white acrylics fill. Helen did a great job at fixing my terrible nails and making them look pretty. My only complaint was how ridiculously expensive they were compared to other shops. $45 for a fill!! I got them put on in LA for less than that and they honestly looked flawless so I was a little disappointed by that. I'm definitely going to go back and hopefully a normal fill won't be so expensive. read more

I didn't have an appointment but needed a wax and popped my head in. They said they could take me in 10 minutes and I was OK with waiting. Kim took me upstairs and was extremely fast which at first concerned me because sometimes when people are really fast they do a really poor wax. Boy was I wrong! Went with a friend for a brazilian wax - first timer here! I had been dreading this appointment as I have been reading horror stories online of everything that could go wrong during the wax, and how much it would hurt. Appointment was at 6pm, my friend called Kim around 4pm to see if she had availability, she said come in right away! Got to the salon, very friendly staff, greeted as soon as we walked through the door. I went upstairs first for my wax. Kim asked me to undress and to lay on the table. She did a very good job about making me feel extremely comfortable. I told her it was my first time and she told me not to worry. She talked to me the entire time, which helped take my mind off of everything. She would check with me to see if it hurt, to which I would respond, oh my god, and kind of giggle. She was very straight forward and everything was done in about 15 minutes. I felt around - hairless! She put a cream on me and recommended I purchase it for my ingrown prone skin. I went down stairs to wait for my friend to get hers done as well. Overall a great experience, Kim really made me feel okay about everything. Spa Elysee has excellent service at great prices. I am always very pleased with my manicure and pedicure treatments; I typically get gel manicures, and they dependably last at least 2 weeks (I'm not sure if this in an issue of technique, or what, but sometimes when I get gel manicures done elsewhere they don't last nearly as long). Wax treatments are super quick (which is always a blessing!) and super affordable. I've tried our a number of surrounding boutique wax salons that have gorgeous facilities and equally friendly staff; but they can charge twice as much and take twice as long as the ladies at Spa Elysee. Spa staff is always very helpful and remembered me after my first visit (I have had Kim and Sarah for both waxing and nails). This salon is not a luxury spa, but I'm always very satisfied and feel like I've gotten a great deal. read more

Just visited Kim's Perfect Skin & Nails for the first time and was not disappointed. I made an appointment with less than 24 hours notice and was able to pick my time no problem. Upon arriving at the salon I was greeted immediately and sat down right away. I was doing Shallac, so Kimberly (the owner's daughter) gave me the samples to choose from. She also wrapped my nails in the foil to begin the removal process. Jessica did my nails, did a nice job and was very friendly! PROS: price! $25 for shellac (including removing the shellac I had on already) friendly, attentive staff!! gave me water and a magazine to read while I waited for my nails to soak hand massage- quick, but great touch! clean! CONS: nothing really. The one comment I would say is that my nails are longer on my left than my right-- they didn't get evened out to match completely. Although, Jessica made sure each hand was even. The other comment would be the clear coat got on my finger tips so when I put my hands in the UV light, my fingers felt a little toasty. My first time here and I can say I will never go back. So I went in to get a shellac manicure and pedicure . Not too many shellac colors to pick from. So I wanted a white color then the owner tells me she didn't have it ... Ok then why are you displaying it (she was kinda rude about it ) I didn't feel very welcome to begin with. Wasn't offered anything to drink or a magazine . But then one of her usual clients walks in and she offers tea /water I thought this was just rude! So I get my nails done by Karen and 5 minutes I leave the salon I'm driving and notice that my nails are chipping And the shellac is lifting!!!! And my toes looked like a disaster! This has never happened to me! So I call and Kim the owner tells to come in and they will fix it ...I come the next day And they redo everything and the owner had gone to get the polish I wanted ...well now my nails have Bubbles!!!! Nope never again.... there goes $50 dollars down the drain! I have gotten shellac many times and never have gone through this ..very disappointed expected way more read more

I tried many places before finding Kim and I have been her customer now for 15 years. I went back to her because she was the first to treat my breakouts and actually extract blackheads. I had my adult onset acne under control with her facials and products.. Every facial is customized to your skin and it's needs .She does teen facials at a reduced price. Now that I am getting older her microdermabrasion is great for collagen stimulation and wrinkle prevention. She also does permanent eyeliner, lash and brow tints and waxing. Her products are plant based and she has the latest equipment /technology and she regularly attends esthetician conferences in Paris and around the USA. Healthy skin is her passion. I hadn't been to kim's for a few years until yesterday. I decided to get a brazilian wax and it was very quick and painless. The best part about this shop is that Kim is very knowledgable about skin care products, she really knows her stuff, I mean look at her, her skin is beautiful. I think i got my nails done by a lady name jessica. She was very nice and did a great job on my shelac and pedicure. I have been a customer here for over a year now, starting out getting basic manicures/pedicures (super awesome chairs and massage too!), then advancing to having some waxing done. I went here for my second ever eyebrow wax and was very very happy with the end result. My eyebrows looked damn good after. I also just recently went back for a brazilian bikini wax. Kim herself preformed the waxing and was really awesome. I had not had a waxing done in a very long time and she was great. I felt very comfortable with her and she knew how to make the process as painless as a bikini waxing could be, lol. This Place is fantastic!!! My sister has been going here for 22 years and my wife turned me on to Kim's facials and Yonka products when we got married in 2012. Kim, the owner, her son Anthony and Kim's mother Rosie are the best! They really know their stuff. I have suffered from adult acne and rosacea for most of my life. After using Kim's products for 3 months, it was as if I had new skin (for the better). Me and my wife have been very consistent since October of 2012 with getting facials, using the Yonka products and getting great skin-care advice from Kim and Anthony. My wife, Paula also gets eyebrow threading, manicure and pedicure. She say the staff is awesome and won't go anyplace else. This place did a really good job on my French pedi, I was very satisfied with the job the nail tech did. My friend even got a massage which she said was pretty good. We went back again, but this time they weren't so welcoming. They just said "come back tomorrow!!" Great pedi, but they need more staff. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SPA. i normally don't go to nails salon because i work in a podiatrist office and i have a lot of patients got infections, fungus nails and ingrown nails due to the improperly nail care from nails salon. i came here because i am on vacation with my sister, after i saw the pic on yelp showing that they sterilized all the tools before use on the customer and of cause with all the good reviews, i decided to give it a try. WRONG DECISION!!!!! first of all, i didnt see any sterilized implements or did they really sterilized?? usually nail tech opens the package in front of the customer but maybe she did, maybe i missed it,but i wouldn't know, at least she didnt do it in front of me. Then, she asked me soap my hand in COLD WATER!!! seriously? it was hella cold today, whats the point to soap in cold water? ok fine, but why my nails turn brown after i soap in the water? i asked her, she goes, "because you put polish too much." This is so funny because i dont do polish on my hand!!!!! ok, skip the story, here is the whole point that i gave 0 star, she file my nails with an USED nail file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how the hell you guys protect your customer if you use a clean tools but a used file???? excuse my words. OMG, i cant believe it. luckily, she didnt cut me which is good. Finally, paint job. she didnt disappointed me of cause. yes!! my polish came out so UNEVEN. my dog can do better then her, and since she didnt buff off the brown which i mention before, so i can still see the brown color under the polish. very good! i end up ask her to remove it all and i would rather have nothing on my nail. she really pissed me off, i will not never ever come back!! my tech is called HELEN. I don't go to a salon for regular mani/pedis because I do them myself. I am pretty picky about who does my nails when I do get them done and am more likely to get pedicures if anything. I have been going to this salon for at least 10 years and they are great. Always professional, clean and they remember your name when you come in, even if it's been more than a few months. They do book up quickly so it's best to call first. Although I have walked in on the occasional Sunday and they have been able to take me. Kim the owner is always so put together and really knows her stuff. She really takes pride in her business and she strives to offer the best customer service. read more

Came here for the first time today. Kim was working on my nails, we were getting to know one another ect. Told her I lived in South San Francisco (south city) and currently attend university in San Francisco. She was rushing my nails, doing them pretty badly because she had a facial to do right after me. I pointed out one nail she had messed up very nicely and she started redoing about 4 more because they had the same problem. I was frustrated and politely asked for her to just take them all off at that point so I could go somewhere else. She proceeded to say "none of my burlingame clients complain, this is so typical of south city scum like you". I told her how horrible that was and explained how much it hurt me and she started to apologize. She caused me to cry and I left upset and very humiliated. Kim may seem sweet, but be aware of her horrible work ethic and customer service. She obviously thinks less of certain customers just because of where they live. When I arrived for my appointment and told them I have an appointment at 6pm, they asked me if I could come back later as they are busy at the moment. They forgot about my appointment helped two people before me. Then finally i was helped at 6:30pm. 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment.
