Cat owners: please stay away. We were very uncomfortable leaving our cat here. The cats are kept in a separate room from the dogs, but we could still hear lots of loud barking and it was stressful. The bath and haircut our cat received was dissatisfying and inconsistent. It was also extremely expensive. We were charged more when we picked up our cat than what we were told upfront and felt it was not reasonable. Absolutely not recommended for you and your cat. read more

Can you give negative stars? I made arrangements to board 3 cats here starting today at 9. We waited outside for over an hour for the shop to open before giving up and struggling to find another kennel. We were having the house fumigated so couldn't take them home. I am sure something happened - perhaps the owner is ill - but I have no sympathy after sweating in the car in 90 degree heat with 3 screaming cats (two of which peed themselves!). Never again. If you plan to use this kennel, get an emergency number UP FRONT as their phone goes to voice-mail after a long wait and there is no emergency contact info on the voice-mail or website. read more

Spa for Pets is GREAT! I have a Yorkie and I like to do different lengths with her hair dependent on the season. Yumiko always listens to my requests and we always get the perfect cut and length. The new owners at Spa for Pets do a good job. They really try to accommodate my specific requirements for my dog's grooming. If I ask them to not take anything off his tail or his ears, they hew close to my instructions. I think they really care about the animals. I wasn't aware how much experience Janet (owner) has had with rescue animals, so knowing that is very comforting. I'd recommend Spa for Pets to anyone who loves his or her dog(s). I only wish my Pookey wouldn't tremble every time we take him there (he's a chicken!). read more

The owner, Janet, is a true animal lover - having worked at the Humane Society and local wildlife center. That's why I took our spaniel there for her first professional cut. I figured Janet would hire only true animal people. Awhile after I dropped off our spaniel, the groomer, Tina, called my cell phone. She asked me questions and we discussed the best approach for grooming my dog. That was just great. They called me about an hour or two later to tell me my dog was ready to go home. My spaniel looks gorgeous and is enjoying her summer hair cut. As the ridiculous reviewer below noted, Tina has tattoos. She also has a warm soft voice and clearly cares for the animals in her care. We have taken our bichon there for almost all of her 7+ years. We have ALWAYS been happy with her cut upon picking her up, both before and after the ownership change. The groomer does a great job in shaping our little girl's hair and she looks adorable each time we pick her up. She goes in once a month, so we are very familiar with the job they do. The Spa for Pets is a distance for us to travel and we have thought of changing to a closer groomer, but we can't find anyone who can do as good a job for the same price. We go back because they can't be beat around here! read more

What a great place to take your pet! Our opinionated Siberian Husky needed a bath and serious claw trim. They took fantastic care of her, her white fur was so clean she looked neon and despite her outspoken attitude they trimmed her overlong nails and fur. Plus, she smells great now! read more

NEW OWNER AND MANAGEMENT!! I went to this shop years ago . It was bad then, but needed to find another groomer as I have two dogs. I then heard that they were selling and there would be new management. I stayed there at that point and wanted to cry every time I picked up my dogs. The 2nd owner's groomer poked my dog's cornea, and they lied and said she came in like that! That day was their last. I started going to Paws Crossing where I met Yumiko. I have a miniature Yorkie and a Shih Tzu . Yumiko was my groomer for years. My dogs loved her and she gave them lots of love and attention. Britney, the Shih Tzu had the bad eye and was aging and had arthritis, but she cared for her like her own. Yumiko eventually left to open her own shop. I stayed with Paws Crossing for a bit and had terrible results and all the groomers were leaving. I got hold of Yumiko as I heard she bought Spa For Pets. She took us immediately, with a days notice. I was so very happy to be back with her as were my dogs. When I picked them up, they looked beautiful, and smelled so good. Britney had been very ill and failing fast. I think we both knew that would be the last time she would see her. As fate would have it, Britney passed away the next day. She was clean and happy at least because she had seen her favorite groomer! My husband & I were devastated for weeks. We received a delivery from a florist of a dog made of carnations with black eyes and nose and sitting in a dog basket amidst a variety of flowers. It looked just like Britney. That arrangement and the card with the most beautiful words, came from YUMIKO! It made us feel good that she cared so much for our dog and is such a beautiful person. She truly loves her work and animals. As fate would have it, we purchased our 3rd Shih Tzu as a puppy this weekend. She is 4 1/2 months. Guess who will be grooming Sasha? I would not trust anyone with my dogs again as long as this beautiful person is around. Stop in and talk to her. Yumiko is simply the best groomer around!! She has groomed our Yorkie since he was a puppy (going on 4 yrs) and when she left Paws Crossing we were crushed. We are thrilled that we found her again and that she is the new Owner of Spa for Pets. She does an excellent job whether we take him in for a bath and brush or full haircut. Yumiko and the staff are wonderful. The front desk check in is always smooth and she asks for any changes, etc. So kind and patient with my 2 dogs who can be quite a handful! My scottish terrier mix is always groomed perfectly and my "large" mini australian shepherd looks clean and trimmed where I like it. I used to go to another groomer in LG but switched and I'm very happy here. It's well worth it. Yumiko recently identified some lumps on my dog....which thankfully turned out to be fatty tumors. She was so concerned and made sure to tell us and show us where they were when he was picked up. I can't place a value on someone caring for my pet like that. I've been having Yumiko at Spa for Pets groom my dog since they opened in 2012! She is very gentle and skilled while grooming my Bichon Frisée. Definitely the best! She even noticed a health problem (while grooming) with my dog before my vet did! I would recommend! read more

Yumiko gives the greatest cuts! She understands and respects the dogs, and knows how important each animal is. In addition, she knows breed standard cuts, but also understands that owners of non-show dogs don't care about standards and just want their dogs to be easy to care for and cute. She'll also alert you to health problems that may need attention. I am always thrilled with my dog's cut, and trust her to take care of my dog. read more

it really hurts me to read some of the reviews that are not a 5 star review, I know Yumiko and her staff, they do such a great job on my Happy, she gets a braid on her long hair at the top, she has no mats when she leaves, her comb outs are done with a very gentle manner, and she likes going there, (and she is a fussy dog). We've taken our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels here for grooming. They come back smelling good with real soft hair. I've gone to many groomers and I am pretty happy here. Their service is good and their work is consistent. My dogs do not like going to the groomer but they don't complain too much about going here. We still need to trick them to get them into the back room. Overall, I'd say we have had a positive experience and we recommend this groomer. read more

We have been customers since the new owners took over - they are fabulous - we especially love TIna the groomer - we have a difficult dog and she is fabulous with him - we also have three small dogs that they do a wonderful job with - all four always come home happy - not too thirsty or anxious to "go" as if they were never let out of the kennel during the day - I never request a specific haircut for our dogs - TIna always knows best and they come home looking beautiful, healthy and happy. My dogs have also boarded and come home with the same results. Check out the owner's credentials - they don't come more qualified or respected. read more
