A now CO-ED day spa in Koreatown, Spa LA is a large underground jjimjilbang with a bevy of different treatments and saunas. My wife and I visited on a weekday, with the service and sessions being good. Spa LA recently finished a large renovation/expansion resulting in the opening of a co-ed in early 2026. Previously, it was female only, with my wife/daughter coming for a mom/daughter spa day when we were still living in Santa Monica. This time, I wanted to treat my wife to a Simply Classic Body Scrub ($125 for one hour) and Mini Facial ($85 for 30 minutes), booking it on-line. They open at 9:00 am, so figured we could come a bit early for the appointments starting at 10:00. We took the train, and it was an easy walk from Normandie station on the Purple (D) Line. Once entering, the check-in desk is right in front. The attendant could be doing a tour, so need to wait until they come back. There are specials to reduce the price a bit and the knowledgeable front staff (Angela) helped us to apply what was applicable. The main one (follow them on Instagram) was to get 20% off a full facial for my wife, which also resulted in my entrance fee being reduced by half ($50 drops to $25, with wife fee being waived since she was having a treatment). The facial change required changing of the reservation times and esthetician availability, but it was no big deal (so must have good availability of staff for same day changes). You pay first with credit card, allowing a tip to be added later (though like most places, cash is preferred directly to the provider). We were both given locker keys that went around our wrists, and then Angela gave a tour of the underground facilities, focusing on the co-ed sections that I would use. Swimwear is mandatory for the co-ed sections, with the female section being exclusively no-swimwear (provided robes only, and au-naturelle in the spas). I was the only person (besides my wife) using the co-ed facilities during the 4 hours I was there. This meant 1). I could take pictures to post here 2). I could imagine the whole quiet place was mine, definitely making the $25 charge worth it for me. The spa closes at 9 pm, so one could spend the whole day if one want to. The male locker room was a typical set-up, with my locker containing slippers (so no need to bring your own), light robe, and towels. There is a large common area where they intend to put in a light snack bar in the future....for now, it is pretty barren. The centerpiece of the area is a foot-deep waterfall fountain, where you can lounge. I really liked the constant sound of moving water that it produced. There is a very large deep whirlpool and cold/ice water plunge pool (no thx). The steam sauna was fully prepped, with enough steam to make visibility non-existent...I could only last about 4 minutes at a time there. The dry sauna was pleasant, but not particularly hot, with the machine not producing much heat (the controls are out of the customer's hands). There are filtered water stations everywhere, private bathrooms which were nice, and cold water showers to rinse (before and after). Phones ARE allowed, with a decent private Wi-Fi (ask the attendant for the password, since cellular doesn't work down there). My wife went to the female section after checking out the co-ed area, and later told me the female-only area has a lot more facilities/treatments, including many different types of pools: akaline, citrus, mineral. As for the treatments, my wife later told me that both the esthetician (Michelle) and the masseuse (Helen) were very skilled, and took their job very seriously. My wife likes whole body scrubs in general, and knew what to expect. As for the full facial, it ended up being a bit too painful for her, so thinking if she does it again, a mini one would be more appropriate.

Just got back from an amazing day at Spa LA! I'll admit, I was a little nervous when I heard they switched to a co-ed format, but no worries, there is still a women-only section. I arrived around 10 AM and it was pretty quiet, maybe six other people total. Staff were walking guests through the new co-ed area, and honestly, it's beautiful. I would come back just to hang out there. The co-ed section allows bathing suits, but the women-only area is still no-clothing. While I was there, I noticed staff constantly cleaning and checking temperatures, which I really appreciated. I got the Simply Sugar Scrub and it was amazing. I didn't catch the name of the woman who did mine, but she was so good, totally worth the money. They also have an $85 scrub-only package if you don't want a massage or hair wash. The only downside was a group of ladies talking loudly, but I did see a staff member ask them to lower their voices. Tip: If you're a bigger woman like me, you can ask for a larger robe!

I loved the vibes of this spa! It was super relaxing. I have never been to a Korean spa so it was a bit of a culture shock. I got the Lavender Scrub and it came with a facial, scalp massage, body scrub, and regular massage. I almost fell asleep with how peaceful it was. My friends and I enjoyed all of the sauna rooms and baths. My favorite was the clay room I underestimated how deep it was. They offer free coffee, tea and water in the lobby. Additionally, they have an area to blow dry your hair and do makeup etc after enjoying the amenities. The only downside is that near the end of our visit we noticed roaches in the entrance to the saunas. :((((

his spa is quite nice! It's in K-Town and even though I took Uber, I noticed there was a parking structure nearby. It was a confusing to get to at first, the address routed me to the Bank of America on Wilshire which was incorrect, once I walked around the block - I found out where it was. I wish there were more detailed instructions on the website on how to get there. Check in was easy, got my own locker and was given instructions on where to go downstairs. It is on the bottom floor, so no windows. The service was amazing! I booked the Aphrodite with Wendy. I would come back just for that! I also really liked the mushroom tea that was provided in the sitting area. I didn't get a chance to try out all the rooms but was thankful they marked each room by order number. I haven't gone to many spas in LA so don't really have much to compare to but overall it was a pleasant experience!

Would you like to go to heaven, become a baby seal, and leave with a glow all in one afternoon? I managed to snag an appointment on the weekend and went by myself bc a Korean body scrub is a solo adventure unless that's a bucket list item with your friends. Do not do this unless you're comfortable being in your birthday suit in the pool area or if you aren't wearing your glasses. I didn't have my glasses on most of the time so that made this even easier. You get a key (shower, towels, and slippers), hop in the shower, and then you have the option of the steam or sauna, jacuzzi of varying degrees and benefits, and the all the detox zones. Follow the first timer guide depending on your chosen treatments and try their homemade reishi tea, I would dilute it if you're not a tea drinker. Turn off your phone and turn it back on if you get the SOS signal. There's a co-ed area but I did not go into that side. Huge thank you to Angela and Nadia for helping me at the front desk and on the phone, Yoona is an absolutely angel who got me to the right spots whenever I got lost, and thank you to Helen and Michelle who got me so relaxed that I spent most of my time asleep.

I loved this spa! The 3 soaking pools were all different and provided unique benefits. The sauna and steam room were a little small, but did the job. I loved the other rooms that they had though. Especially the one with the clay balls. They have showers to clean up with after, and the amenities you would expect from a spa.

This review is based on when I went in February 2020. Clean and basically such a great value. It is so cute and you truly can spend 3 hours or so there. Definitely can't wait to go back! Wish Bay Area had more places like this. The customer service was also really sweet. If I lived locally I would definitely make this place a weekly thing for me! read more

Spa LA offers amenities that are carefully thought out to pamper your body back into health. From Himalayan salt room to V-vapor chair. Their special blend of complimentary tea must have been concocted by an herbalist and the most sophisticated pallet of a true tea enthusiast. Every corner of the Spa LA is well designed to accommodate my fatigued body. I loved that it was small enough for me to visit each room with ease distance and cleanliness due to daily water change unlike many other spas and big enough to accommodate all kinds of different body care rooms like earth clay and dry sauna. I really appreciate that I was able to pamper both my external (massage and exfoliate) and internal (V-vapor detox)body into feeling 10 ponds lighter by the time I walked out of the Spa LA. Traveled all over the world both high and low, enough to recognize a diamond in the ruff. Spa LA was for me an exceptional experience that left my aching body feel like a new person. If you are cultured enough and confident enough to be naked in front of another woman( trust me it only takes a change in your mind set)this is the place for you to get rejuvenated to face your next challenge. read more

Spa LA is my favorite Korean spa experience in Los Angeles. The facilities are always very clean, and most days I have gone it has been pretty quiet and peaceful. The front desk staff are so friendly, and make sure you have an exceptional experience every time. I love going by myself to decompress after a long work week. Mmmkaaaay! I never knew a love like this before. I've always been hesitant to try out a Korean Spa for sanitary reasons (I am a little OCD) and also I'm prude when it comes to strangers all up in the Birthday suit bidnesssss. But my girlfriend convinced me to give it a try as both of our stress levels have been through the roof. What a JOY! This experience was everything and more! You walk into this zen spa that's located on the second floor of an unassuming plaza. (I got dropped off but there is valet available. I think it's under $5) and your life changes! Everyone is shoeless, most likely naked under their robes and then you are given a robe and two towels (1 large , 1 hand towel) there is a smell of homemade Asian style food as you walk towards the back area which I LOVE that there's a kitchen area for you to get some eats in while relaxing. It came across They have signs indicating the order in which you can enter the rooms or you have the option to do it in however order you please. V-steam is the service I did and doing that granted me a $10 entry fee to the spa. So $40 for the few hours. I am LIVING for that $40 being so well spent! This was my first Vsteam I had been wanting to try one for the longest time. I would like to do some more and then I can gauge on the improvement of some of my issues but it was for sure a new type of experience and sensation. The woman cooking the food prepared herbs in a pot and then took me into a room where there are square boxes (chair height) with holes in them. Kinda like a cushioned box toilet with no lid. She put a sanitary paper/cloth over it and gave me a pink sheet-like cover that exposed only my head and arms and would drape over the box to enclose the steam. The pot of herbs went on a portable burner underneath the box and voilaaaaa after about a minute or so there's steam floating up your PumPum! It felt great and I had to take breaks and also turn down the setting. (Didn't wanna burn my vag up) it's about a 30-40 minute transaction. They have magazines, i recommend bringing a book and if you can sneak...bring your phone to quietly listen to some meditation or spa music. Very peaceful. I enjoyed it. Overall wasn't really THAT uncomfortable it was just the initial nakedness in the shower that I felt like my soul was visible for all to see but then when I got over it. It was amazing! read more

This is my favorite low-key K-Spa in LA. It is the perfect place to detox and enjoy the labeled 1-10 experiences inside of the spa. Not typically as packed as some of the others, the sense of relaxation is wonderful and needed living in SoCal. The Himalayan Salt Rock Room is amazing as are all the other specialized rooms in this underground oasis - they also have good WiFi and an area to chill, drink water / tea / coffee and just relax. Extra service wise I love the Goddess package which includes shiatsu, deep tissue and Swedish massage and most come with a stimulating scalp massage and mini facial. My friend took me here for my birthday and got us the silver package (scrub, seaweed wrap, and 60 min massage). It was life changing. I literally feel like a new person !!!!! It was so calm and clean and just lovely. The scrub was the best part - so satisfying seeing and feeling all the gross stuff coming off your body. Who knew!!! read more

I randomly booked a massage on a whim. I did no research on this place at all. I had no idea it was gonna be a experience!! I was so shocked to see all the hot tubs and spa rooms! I booked a Pearl Massage and Suzan went crazy on my skin! I never had a scrub before! My skin feels reborn! She took such good care of me. Also had no idea it was a women's only nude spa! I was so unprepared to be naked but, I quickly felt safe and comfortable and got booty naked too. I tried all the spa rooms and it was unworldly! I felt like I was ona different planet down there. Between the women vibes and the care I was given to by Suzan I felt a deep connection with womanhood and self-care. This place SHOCKED me because I thought i was gonna just wait in a room and be called in for a massage and go home. I had no idea the experience I was in for. I will be doing this once a month! I haven't stopped talking about and thinking about this lol! read more

Disappointed is an understatement. I was excited to try this place and booked the lavender soothe which included the body scrub, hair wash/treatment, and face mask/facial. The majority of the treatment was the body scrub which I didn't care for since my skin is still burning 10 hours later, but I was expecting a decent massage for the price tag of $145 not including tip, which was nothing but a super fast moving oil rub; not even a mediocre foot massage you'd get at a nail salon. Even the hair wash that I though was at least going to include scalp scrub/massage, was just a 30 second wash and I don't recall receiving a facial, just a face mask and no hair treatment, which would usually sit on your hair for few minutes. When I brought this up to the front desk I was told that I'd have to book a private room massage to get an "actual massage". Just be aware that the "therapist" is not an actual masseuse. read more

I came back to the spa and I haven't been for awhile and they changed the parking rules to only validation for 3 hrs. Which really sucks because I don't want to be rushed at the spa like 3 hrs isn't really enough 1 hr massage and then 2 hrs to relax..? I used to come here and relax and not stress or worry about the time. After I pay for massages and the spa fee the last thing I wanna pay for is parking. Even thought I love this spa I might have to go elsewhere! read more

This was the first time I've been to a day spa. I found this hidden gem off Groupon, amazing deal. $15 for admission ‍. I am in love in love with this place, I came 2 days in a row. It's a 10 step thing which I thought was cool. Made it easy to enjoy the whole experience. Step 1: Shower and Jacuzzi Step 2: Sauna Step 3: Eucalyptus Steam room Step 4: I wanna say it was the treatment add-on room Step 5: HIMALAYAN SALT ROOM. My personal favorite, heated, very relaxing with Himalayan Salt rocks and slabs all along the walls and floor. Step 6: Charcoal Mud Room(also a favorite and is heated) you have your own bed of these heated balls of clay Step 7: Infra Red Room, didn't care for this room much but I did buy a little $2 mask at the front and put it on in here. The lights in there have toning and tightening properties. Step 8: I can't remember lol Step 9: Ion Cooling Room , it was definitely needed after all the heat and detoxing. It cools your internal temperature and closes your pores up. Step 10: I want to say way the Nutrition room. I didn't have any nutritions so I skipped that step and drank the fruit h2o and coffee lol. Day 1 I took my sweet time and spent about 20 minutes in each step and it was about a 3 hour stay. Man was it lovely, gosh... I loved every minute Day 2 of my experience wasn't as long as day one, I came 2 hours before closing. I did an Herbal V Steam. You are naked underneath this cute geisha like gown they wrap around you, its long and covers the cute little stool chairs when you sit . The chairs have a good sized hole in the middle which they cover it with a special kind of paper on top of the hole for sanitation and protection. Underneath the hole is a single burner about 6 or 7 inches from touching the chair on the bottom. Theres a pot with all different kinds of herbs and leaves with water. The chair has an opening where your legs go so you turn your burner up or down as needed. It DOES get hot lol.. I jumped a few times, but once the steam dies down you feel no heat, atleast I didn't so I'd turn the burner back on. It was a 35 minute treatment. It's a coochie detox and helps with cramps/menses and stuff uterus and vagina related and its the cheapest item on the menu lol ‍. I had a good time. The staff were very kind. It's not awkward at all. LADIES ARE NAKED, I repeat NAKED lol All shapes, types, and tones. Come here with friends or alone like I did. I enjoyed myself for my birthday weekend and I'd definitely come here again my next visit to L.A. read more

I went to the spa this evening and got the classic package. It was my first time at a Korean spa and I loved it. My attendant was Grace and she was fantastic. It included the scrub, massage, face mask, and hair treatment. So relaxing and the three different jacuzzis were awesome. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back on my next visit to LA. read more

Super small but gets the job done. 2 hot tubs, 1 ambient tub, 1 steam sauna, 1 dry. Wish there was an ice pool. Clean facilities but bring your own caddy and shoes. Scrub was great but not excellent. A good replacement now that Natura is gone. read more

Amazing place. It's very clean and has hot and cold pools. It has a dry and wet sauna. They also provide free water. Even though there is no restaurant there are plenty of restaurants around. I highly recommend it to anyone needs a rest or a nap! read more

Went to Spa La for mother day hoping to have a great experience with my daughter. First, I understand that Korean spa women tend to walk around in the nude witch is completely respected. Though we did not know it was something with had to do ? The women were very condensing with the fact we were completely comfortable walk around in the nude. And rightfully so.... I am glad I didn't because I get home and I have a horrible rash on the side of my face and under my nose. God knows where else it could have ended up. (?) This was far from the mother's day experience I was looking for. read more

I've been looking for a small, clean spa ever since Natural closed down, and a few spas later, I've found my new favorite. LA Spa in extremely clean, and spotless. The staff are friendly, and professional. I opted for the Milk Scrub, and it was the best scrub I've had in a long time. I highly recommend this little gem of a spa. read more

This is my favorite spa in LA. So clean, peaceful and somewhere where I can really lose myself. The infrared sauna is amazing as are the other rooms and the ice water on tap-with a pen to write your name on the cup-is a really nice touch-as I am extremely worried about the environment, paying attention to those little details is important to me. parking is available and robes are provided. The only reason I'm giving this place a one star is because I payed $45 for a brown sugar scrub, and I was barely scrubbed! My scrubber was Mina, and it was honestly one of the WORST scrubs I've ever had, she seemed angry and was treating me almost like a rag doll, and it lasted 25 or 30 mins?!?!? WHY!?!?!? Everything else was beautiful and clean. But I regret getting the scrub, not worth $45 or the drive to Ktown. So SAD! :( read more

Loved it and they have pink robes to top it off with a cherry on top! :) I bought a coupon on Groupon, for me and my friend. First off, I only paid $29 for 2 people. Super cheap for a spa in LA! I was really excited to go here and experience it for my 1st time. After reading through other people's reviews, I brought a hair tie and sandals. I had read it was an all nude policy for the Jacuzzi room and yes, that is true. Which I didn't mind, since I didn't feel uncomfortable with anyone that was there. I went on a Sat afternoon, not as packed. The place is really clean, calm environment, super cute spa. They have 10 rooms, one of the lady's working there instructed us on the steps of the rooms, like where to start etc. They have 3 jacuzzies, a steam room, a sauna to begin and the other rooms are for relaxation on muscles, skin etc. They have a "tea room" towards the end of the steps. Which is a cute room to hang out in, read a book or have a chat with friends. They offer lemon water or coffee. Parking was validated. All that to say, I will be coming back very soon!! read more

A lot of my usual spots recently increased their admission fees, so I was looking for a new Korean spa. I found a really good deal through Groupon for this location, so I decided to give it a try. It was really easy to redeem my Groupon. The employee at the front desk just scanned the voucher on my phone, and I was admitted. The spa itself is small, but very clean and has everything you expect from a Korean spa. Just keep in mind that this particular spa is for women only! The whole location is underground, so you definitely won't get any phone signal down there. Luckily there's free wifi, so I was able to do some work on my laptop in the lounge area. I would recommend bringing your own flip flops/shower shoes. There's a parking structure right next to the spa (entrance on Mariposa Ave), and the spa validates for free up to 3 hours. I would definitely return to this location! read more

Hands down, my favorite spa house in Korea town, LA. Facilities are great but my favorite thing about this place is the diversity. For starters, they have a diversity of options in the hydrocircuit including alkaline, himilayan salt, and citrus pools. They've also got more diverse rooms that I've seen at other spas, although my favorite was probably the mud room. I love how you sink in like a kid in a ball pit. Found the negative ion room to be very relaxing as well. Most of all, I love the diversity of their clientele. Patrons come from various background and speak different languages. So if you're looking for a 100% authentic korean spa where you'll be surrounded by exclusively other koreans, this might not be the place for you. But if you're looking for a Korean spa that embraces the diversity of LA and makes everyone feel welcome, check this place out! read more

I will start with this -- BY FAR THE BEST MASSAGES I HAVE EVER HAD. Ive been to other Korean spas. I'm a junky. I went to Spa LA and got body scrub and massage. I can't praise it enough. It was sooo good that I stayed and got a 90 minute deep tissue massage the same day! My headache, neck/shoulder pain, jaw pain... felt so much better after that I'm going back in two days for more. The clinicians really listen to your body and use various techniques that were beyond words. The bath house and rooms were clean and each was pretty special. I'd give this more stars if possible. A MUST!!!!! read more

I went to Spa LA with my friend last weekend and it was clean, inviting, and relaxing. There are 8 different rooms - baths, saunas, an infrared room, a Himalayan salt room, a clay room, and a couple more. We left feeling super relaxed and my skin looked visibly better. I stayed for almost 2 hours and they validate parking for 3 hours so you don't have to pay extra or deal with street parking. Plus, the day pass alone is super affordable. I'd highly recommend it and plan to go back! read more

I went for the first time this weekend and I'm absolutely in love. I will definitely be a regular here. The staff were so skilled and knowledgeable about each treatment and made me feel so pampered and relaxed. The place itself is peaceful and elegant, really the perfect spot to meditate and feel refreshed -- mind and body. Friends... JJ knew exactly what she was doing. She found knots in my skull. My actual skull. Then proceeded to perform some kind of kung-fu Thai magic where I felt what used to be my brain turn back into mush--in the best way. She moved to my shoulders and back, mixing deep Thai stretches with light kneading, locating muscle kinks like five-carat diamonds and polishing them until they no longer existed. At one point I'm fairly certain I was purring. HR would not approve. Then came the oil and relaxation portion. Pure bliss. She was gentle, focused, and so intentional that I may or may not have teared up slightly. One hour was simply not enough. I could've moved in. If you live in LA--go see JJ. That made a huge difference. The spa itself has everything, it's 24 hours, and the valet situation makes it convenient for LA. If you're someone who actually knows how to use a Korean spa properly and wants to hang out for a while, I can see why people like this place. That said, it was busy. Like very busy. They had even run out of robes at one point, so we had to wait for one, which was kind of wild. And compared to the other spas I've been to, the massage prices here were also crazy expensive. I'm still personally a little shy with Korean spas in general, so I don't think I fully relax the way other people do in these spaces, but this was the first time I felt like I actually understood the flow of it better. I'd come back to use the facilities, especially since it's open 24 hours, but I probably wouldn't come here for a massage at those prices.

This spa experience was okay, but not great…read more First, the good. Valet parking is available for $4. The spa treatments were the redeeming part, even though they were inconvenient to book. More on that later. I ended up getting the Buff (body scrub) & Aroma Massage. As someone who exfoliates almost daily, I didn't expect to get much out of the exfoliating part, but that woman scrubbed off my sins from a past life. That was THE most thorough exfoliation I've ever experienced. My skin was so smooth afterward. Every time she splashed warm water on me to wash away the dead skin, I felt refreshed. At the end of the service, she even gave me the exfoliating glove she'd used during the service. After the scrub, she applied the most hydrating face mask to my slightly sunburned face. After the scrub, she applied a hydrating face mask that my slightly sunburned skin desperately needed. While it dried, she performed my massage using what smelled like eucalyptus oil. The massage was thorough & occasionally intense but overall, I felt amazing. My only concern was sanitation. Services are performed completely nude, & I would've preferred to see the table sanitized in front of me or at least know what products were being used between guests. It was a little uncomfortable knowing someone else's most intimate parts had been on that table moments earlier. The café on the second floor has a decent variety of Korean food, water, juices, smoothies, & cold-pressed juices. I grabbed an apple, ginger & beet juice that was spicy in the best way. At $10, it was cheaper than many cold-pressed juices I've had elsewhere. That's about where the positives end because unfortunately, this is not a great place to relax. I was hoping for an outdoor pool (this is LA, after all). Nope. Just a rooftop deck. The "Ice Room" was about 57 degrees. Cool, but not cold. What WAS cold, however, was the water dripping on me from the ceiling. The Clay Ball Room is a death trap. Nearly everyone who entered after me either fell or almost fell. One poor woman went down so fast she didn't even know what happened. They really need signage warning guests about the slip & fall risk & explaining how to enter safely. I also expected more relaxation rooms. There were only one or two beyond the main spaces. The second-floor common area wasn't the quiet retreat I expected. Despite signs asking guests to keep their voices down, loud conversations were everywhere & no staff seemed interested in enforcing the rules. I thought I'd have better luck in the women-only spa area. Just when I found a quiet spot in the wet sauna, a staff member barged in & told everyone to leave so they could spray something into the air. We were completely naked, the steam is so thick you can barely see a few inches in front of you, & I was just starting to drift into a light sleep when the door flew open & we were told to get out. There was no explanation, no calm communication, & no indication whether this was routine maintenance or an emergency. Even afterward, nobody explained what was being sprayed or why. If this is routine maintenance, there should be signage letting guests know services may be interrupted throughout the day. And if there was such urgency to spray whatever product was being used, it raises questions about whether guests had been been exposed to something concerning. The wet sauna is also another place where hot water drips from the ceiling onto unsuspecting patrons. Very unpleasant & frankly pretty gross. The women's-only section includes a hot tub, warm tub & cold plunge. Unfortunately, I don't believe these pools are cleaned as thoroughly or frequently as they should be. I noticed visible buildup along the tile line at the water's edge, the kind of thing that shouldn't be there if the pools are being properly maintained. Anyone sitting their most intimate parts on those tile seats does so at their own risk. As I mentioned earlier, booking services here is a pain. There are signs advertising treatments but no clear guidance on where to sign up. Helpful patrons told me to go to the front desk, so I had to shower, dry off, get dressed & head upstairs. Then, despite my credit card being attached to my wristband, I couldn't use the wristband to pay. I had to go all the way back to the locker room to retrieve my card. So inconvenient. At my local Korean spa, there's a concierge in the locker room who handles all bookings. If that's not feasible here, at least install a kiosk so guests can book services without leaving the spa area. Online booking would also help, but I couldn't find that option on the website. My intention was to spend the entire day here before heading to my 11:30 pm flight. Instead, I left several hours early because I was so unnerved by the disruptions & disappointed by the limited relaxation options. I'm glad this wasn't my first Korean spa experience because it definitely wouldn't have inspired me to come back.

So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I trusted the front desk staff to guide me, and was quoted $80 for Gel-X, builder gel removal, and French tip. At my appointment on Friday 7/18, I was unexpectedly charged $110! I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

Within 24 hours, I found myself at urgent care, grappling with a severe full-body rash that had rapidly spread. I made two attempts to contact the spa, aiming to bring my distressing experience to their attention and, ideally, request a refund. While their website does mention a strict "no refunds policy," I held onto the hope that their management prioritizes doing what is ethically right over rigid adherence to policy. Unfortunately, my efforts to communicate with them were met with resounding silence. A Disastrous Experience at Spa LA - Avoid at All Costs I recently had a terrible experience at Spa LA that I feel compelled to share. From start to finish, the visit was marked by a series of frustrating issues. Upon checking in, we were informed that the steam sauna was out of order, which was inconvenient but not unexpected. However, things quickly went downhill from there. One of the jacuzzis malfunctioned, creating a geyser of water that sprayed everywhere and made a mess. To add to the frustration, the bubbles in both jacuzzis then stopped working, rendering them useless. The situation was further exacerbated by an ongoing issue with the fire alarm. Although the alarm had been triggered before we arrived and there was no siren blaring, the flashing lights persisted constantly over the entire course of our 1+ hour experience. This relentless distraction made it impossible to relax or enjoy any of the amenities. The lack of professionalism extended to the massage services as well. My friend had booked a 75-minute massage, but the session ended after just 60 minutes. When we brought this to the attention of the management, they offered a paltry $10 discount on our next visit--an insultingly inadequate response given the series of problems we faced. Spa LA failed on every front--service, facilities, and customer care. The entire experience was marred by inefficiency and a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. If you value your time and money, avoid Spa LA at all costs. They clearly don't prioritize providing a relaxing or professional experience. read more

Has been coming to Spa LA for over 8 years now, even after they changed the location. Mina is my favorite in regards to getting massages, body scrub, body wrap etc. Today I have discovered my number 2 favorite Korean lady, her name is Lee. Spa LA have everything you need to get ultimate mental/physical detox. I believe Spa is the place where you should go by yourself, maximum you can bring your friend, otherwise you're not recharging your inner body, mind and overall emotional state, you'll be chatting and talking about each other problems or gossiping about other friends, so the best is to come by yourself and enjoy your Devine Zen time Himalayan Salt mineral room especially design for everyone who wants to release their body from toxins and extra fluids which always makes us feel bloated and heavier then we really are Spa LA has so many rooms, absolutely packed with everything you'd have on your list to get done: facial, pedicure, up to 10 different massages and scrubs variations. You also not obligated to use any services at all, you'll have access to all rooms, jacuzzi, sona etc. Do, bring your flip flops, pool side slides, something to wear on your feet to walk around Spa area. They used to give you one pair and you'd have to return them after using, but they no longer provide that option! This Korean Spa is the most quiet, clean spa I've gone in LA and I highly recommend you to visit this place! Or make a regular body Scrub every month ritual! Your body will thank you for all that dead skin exfoliation you'll give it! read more

I posted this review a year ago after my experience with the spa passes, and it received a lot of attention. To thoroughly answer any lingering questions, I purchased multiple spa passes worth approximately $80, only to find out that they were considered expired and unusable. There were no terms and limitations provided at the time of purchase. In response to my review, the management clarified that these passes were sold at a discounted rate with a one-year expiration noted on them. They also mentioned that due to the pandemic, they extended the validity of the passes for an additional year. However, this information was not disclosed at the time of purchase, nor were there any terms and conditions provided. While I appreciate the context provided by the management and the extension offered post-pandemic, I believe it's important to highlight that, under federal law, specifically FDIC regulations, gift cards and similar prepaid services cannot expire until at least five years from the date of activation. This includes admission passes. Even though my situation may be past the expiration date now, I want to warn other potential customers about the lack of clear terms and limitations and the expiration policies associated with purchasing passes in bulk. Make sure to carefully read any provided terms and consider the expiration dates before making a purchase, and be aware if no terms are given. This is my first time writing a review for a place. It was an unique experience. My friend and I stopped by few days ago to check this place out for my friend's birthday. First of all, there are some spa that are located underground. However, this spa felt a bit overextended. Our main purpose of stopping by was to relax, however, the air circulation here was horrible. I had hard time breathing in and out ( especially, after using their hot rooms). Which left me a bit anxious. Also, the pathway into the spa gave me an unpleasant vibe as if someone was watching me. It could have been just me and my friend but the atmosphere felt surely spooky for us. Lastly, we did ended up getting a service. There's not much for us to say regarding the service except the fact that I was able to tell she did not know the pressure points at all and that she wasted so much time preparing the supplies. ( which I think she should have done before the actual service started). Although, the service itself lasted 70 minutes, it really felt like i received a 50 minutes service. By the time, we were done with our services we left immediately. When we first got here the whole purpose was for relaxation but we left being anxious. It was not a pleasant experience. If you guys are sensitive about someone's presence or have somewhat of a sixth sense. I do not recommend you this place. read more

Fantastic First-Time Experience at Spa LA! My friend and I visited Spa LA for the first time, and we had an amazing experience! This women's-only Korean spa is incredibly clean, peaceful, and well-maintained--perfect for a relaxing self-care day. We booked the Cleopatra Honey Scrub, and Joan did an exceptional job. She was thorough, professional, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. Our skin felt so soft and refreshed afterward! The customer service was top-notch--the owner was fantastic in accommodating our last-minute appointment. They also provide complimentary tea and coffee, which added to the relaxation. A few helpful tips: * Parking is validated, and we only paid $2.99 after validation. * They accept Apple Pay, making checkout easy. * If you prefer to tip in cash, bring some along. They provide an envelope at the end, but you can also add a tip to your card. * There are great restaurants next door, making it easy to grab a bite after your spa session. If you're looking for a spotless, relaxing Korean spa with excellent treatments and great service, I highly recommend Spa LA! We'll definitely be back. read more

I can't believe how hard it is to get one extra towel at this spa. I had to look for one of the assistant to come by to ask her for it. If not, you will have to walk up the stairs all over again. I have had countless deep tissues massages at other spas, but, I will never return to Spa LA for any kind of massage or scrub treatments. Why do they waste so much time doing other things, gathering materials, washing the scrubs, etc. I understand that they need to prepare those things, however, do they really have to do that during their client's service time? I mean I paid for the service not for them to prepare and waste like 20 mins of my service. This spa needs to organize themselves better. read more

Had an amazing time at this spa! It's super relaxing and has everything you need for a perfect self-care day. I loved the variety of hot jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms--they really have it all for ultimate relaxation. The staff is super friendly and made me feel at ease the whole time. I also tried the V-steam, which was a new experience for me, and it was surprisingly soothing! The herbal tea and rice crackers they give you during it were a nice touch. The facility was clean and well-maintained, with a great atmosphere for unwinding. Definitely coming back next time I need to de-stress. Parking can be a little tricky, but they validate, so it's not a big issue. Highly recommend this spa! read more

However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when I received a notification just 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment (I drove for an hour), informing me that they had overbooked for the time slot I had requested. Not sure of why people are so excited about this place. I was fairly disappointed with their service. The therapist seem like they were not aware of what they were doing. My cousin and I both got the aroma scrub and massage treatment. On the website, it clearly states that the service comes with a deep tissue massage, however, all I got was strong rub against my skin and strong pressure on random area. My cousin's skin was left raw and red at the end of the treatment. This spa is located underground and it left me breathless after using their dry saunas. This wasn't my first time visiting Koreatown, and thought it would be nice to experience a Korean style spa, however, i regret doing so. I stopped by this spa after reading all these positive reviews. I don't know if these reviews are even accurate... Yes,it is clean but the air circulation is horrible.The location might be the problem, but they really should focus on trying to improve their air circulation. If you have asthma ladies, I do not recommend this place to you. Their services were alright but I am planning on trying out different places the next time I visit this area. read more

This establishment was great and services were spot on. I had the Swedish massage and my daughter and sister had the deep tissue massages. I have been here twice once for the body scrub, which was amazing and the massage which was worth every penny. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and this is the perfect place to unwind from a long week or if you just want some me time. Everyone was professional and provided excellent services. LADIES PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. I hate to leave negative reviews, however, I cannot believe that they are literally asking for their own customers to write them good reviews.. When I was here , I did not see one single worker cleaning after BUNCH of ladies have checked out. During the massage, the therapist whom worked on me was WILD. Almost, as if I was being slapped non-stop. I informed the therapist please slow down, nothing changed. Quality of services should taken more serious. read more

I realized that I've never left a review before, even though I'm a regular. All the amenities work great every time I'm here! I booked the Aphrodite massage and it was absolutely amazing! The massage itself was so relaxing and thoughtfully done--I felt completely rejuvenated afterward. I was here many times since it opened. The service is getting better and the amenities get upgraded. It became my monthly regular. Tried milk honey massage recently and it was the bomb. My skin is like baby's. Unlike other Korean spas, their hot sauna rooms like Himalayan salt room and hot clay balls rooms and the common area are separated.
