FABULOUS EXPERIENCE! Every single person at Spa Terra was friendly, helpful, and kind. The spa was impeccable with all the amenities a person could want: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hairbrush, razor, shower cap, towels, water, etc. I was given my own locker with thick robe and spa shoes to fit me. I truly enjoyed the steam room with eucalyptus. Outside the door was cold water and icy cloths. The jacuzzi looked great, but I didn't have a chance to try it out. There were lounge chairs just for relaxing. I was able to use a private dressing room and shower. I received a massage and facial from VICTORIA that was outstanding. First, Spa Terra at the Meritage Resort has a lovely and intimate atmosphere; hence the two stars instead of one. I had a facial that was one hour and $165-- Ok, that is to be expected at a resort spa. With that said....the facial should be at least a good one! The aesthetician was nice and polite; but she didn't seem genuinely interested in my skin, future skin care, or me for that matter (she didn't ask me anything about my routine or say much about my skin or what it needed). She forgot to do the extractions after the steam; and then did them without the pores open enough. In addition, she barely massaged my Décolletage...and didn't include the shoulders, arms or hands. She didn't tell me what products she was using (except for facial stones) . I found that strange as they usually like to sell you something! I had an extra eye treatment that was not worth having either. It is concerning that just because at a resort you may not be a return customer, you don't get the same attention! To top it off, the 18% tip was included! I was compelled to write this review even though I have never written a negative review because I just had a facial at a local spa in my area and it was AMAZING! I had a very professional aesthetician. She gave me great advice, a nice massage, used great care and good products; and a showed a genuine interest in her job! read more

Lovely spa in Napa. My sister and I brought our mom here for her birthday, and it was a wonderful girls weekend. I got the vino bello wrap and I have no complaints. The amenities were luxurious: the best locker rooms i have seen a a spa with the spa brand sampoo/conditioner/body wash, and anything you anything you need available to prepre for treatments or to get ready for a day wine tasting or night on the town after a spa day.. We could have spent all day at the heated spa, sauna and lounge areas, and the staff was super friendly and will actually serve you and chat with you instead of just hovering around. The caves were so peaceful! We got to see some of the treatment rooms, and I can't wait to bring my boyfriend here for some of the couples treatments. Book ahead of time because the appointments fill up fast. I definitely recommend this spa in Napa! read more

Spa Terra was the perfect way to end the little Napa getaway. The space is tranquil and beautiful...hidden deep inside a cave, which provides shelter from daylight, noise, and the crazy boozing that accompanies Napa wine tasting. Had an awesome treatment there and wish I could have hung out longer in the comfy robe and loungy chairs, sipping my iced tea. But alas, we had to keep moving. -1 star for the steam room which was out of order (the spa is a year old, yet it seems they haven't figured out the steam machine). this spa is located in a cave, so there is no reception for your cell phone [probably a good thing]. this was a girls' day out, a perfect sunny day for a massage and lay by the pool. my bff & i do everything together! we both had a 50 minute massage in the same room - this room is also perfect for couples! she had the terra massage and i had the deep tissue massage, meaning more pressure points. after your services, you have all day to relax at the hot tub and steam sauna. they provide complimentary hot & iced tea and refreshing water with cucumber and lemon. everything is soooo clean. from the showers to the locker room, even the bathroom is spic & span. they provide shavers and shaving cream, Q-tips, blowdryers, even combs with disinfectant jars like the salons. the atmosphere is serene and look for a journal located in the waiting room and you will read everyone's thoughts and how much fun everyone had, including us! the therapists are super sweet and accomodating. they have a wine tasting room right next the spa. now, all i have to do is stay at the resort to get the complete experience! read more

So, i was there yesterday. Awesome place, awesome ambiance. Well what fascinates every eye, in my opinion, is the cave style...it's really cool. So enough of it already , right?! haha so, here's the real deal. We reached there an hour and a half earlier ..coz we wanted to use the other amenities before our messages and facial.We were greeted with a smile at the reception and then were shown the locker rooms. The women locker rooms were nice, clean , loads of towels every where...iced water, iced tea, wet towels for your eyes. The steam room was also good A+. I did not try the jacuzzi... So, i was pretty much impressed. So the time came for my message... the lady was very nice, well spoken...but i hated the way she maessaged. I may have chosen the wrong style of message (deep tissue) but my body is aching till now as if i was punched on my shoulder and certain places on my back. On the other hand, my husband said he's message wasn't that bad (European message) So i would say a C, for the message. Then came my facial and that lady was AWESOME. I chose the European facial and she was very very good at it. She even messaged my neck and my shoulder 100X better than the lady who actually messaged me!! I dozed off for some time and woke up and she was still messaging my neck and i dozed off and woke up and she was still messaging my shoulder.....wow i thought to my self...depp tissue was a waste of time and money and i still have aches...So Facial was A+. The resting room ( real sense was the waiting room) before you woul dbe called for your message or facial was nice. Dim lights, comfortable couches, plenty of blankets, water, hot tea, iced tea , water flowing from teh wall...but for a resting room a/c vents were quite loud...overpowerd the water fall ambiance and the dim lights. So my verdict is, Recommended? YES ( try it at least once) Message : NO ( but again, do your research before you choose what kind you prefer, luckily you might find a good one....but who know??, so save your money!) FACIAL : YES 2 messages 1 facial and 2 glasses of champagne total =$400 with gratuity.....$$$ hell ya...but we deserved it , it was our anniversary! I was in total relaxation mode at Spa Terra. I came here for a bridal shower over the weekend and it took me away...There were 7 girls in our party and our spa appoinements were staggered from 9am to 10:30 but it all worked out because after our massages we enjoyed their amenities of using the steam room and jacuzzi. So no one was left waiting. Katy did my deep tissue massage and I literally felt like jello afterwards. We had lunch at the Siena in the hotel which was awesome and then came back and used the pool. Apparently, if you get a spa treatment you can use their amenities until 8pm without an additional charge. Spa Terra was beautiful and they provide everything from showers, changing rooms, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, combs, hair dryers, lockers, robes, slippers, etc. Spa Terra topped off our wine tasting weekend beautifully! read more

Husband & I booked the Amore package for our wedding anniversary. Booking went smoothly although i wanted to add on a body wrap for us in addition to the package and was told that couldn't be accommodated because the special couples room we were in wasn't equipped for wraps. Lame; you just missed out on $200 more in sales. Day of, we arrived early to do some hydrotherapy before the services. The facility was absolutely gorgeous! Staff was friendly and helpful. Paid for services before hand and they automatically add the industry standard 20% tip. The 25 minute bath was very romantic; lots of bubbles and they set up prosecco and chocolates while we enjoyed our couples bath. Massages were in the same tub room and unfortunately our massages were terrible. The spa music was overpowered by the sound of the tub draining and running water. If you frequently get massages, the spa terra massage is so basic. It felt like a cat kneeding you or someone rubbing lotion on you. Didn't work out any knots, wasn't relaxing and left both my husband and I needing to book massages with our regular masseues the very next day. Not cool when we just spent close to $800 on this spa day! The facials were superb and good amount of amenities in the locker room to get ready afterward. read more

Today I went with 5 other friends for a wonderful spa day and for all but one of us, it was our first experience with this spa. Each of us had a massage or body treatment and each one of us was thoroughly elated with the service we got from our massage therapist and the people who work at the spa. From the receptionists to the assistants in the locker room to each individual massage we were impressed and thoroughly satisfied with what we received. I had a deep tissue massage with Edith and she's by far one of the best massage therapists I've ever had. But each one of my friends had the same feeling about their massage so that tells you pretty much anyone you get to work on you will be great. Over the top! Best spa I have ever been to. Bring a bathing suit and plan on staying for a couple of hours. The men and ladies locker rooms have hot tubs and steam rooms. They are also stocked to the max. I wasn't planning on showering because I didn't have my things, but no worries they had everything. Hair brushes, combs, q tips, hair dryers, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, shaving cream. Everything! We had a couples massage and they were great. Everything was great. We just hoped that we could've soaked in the tub a little bit longer. We were only allowed 20min in the tub and then the massage. The relaxation room was supposed to be quiet and tranquil, but there were groups of people who were so loud and obnoxious.. it really was annoying when i'm trying to relax and take a nap. Got a very good prenatal massage, with the right pressure and kneads at the right places. The spa is relaxing with all amenities- sauna, jacuzzi and a serenity room. I booked Spa Terra's duetto package on a one day trip to Napa from the city. I chose spa terra over Fairmont's Sonoma Mission Inn based on reviews here that the facility was beautiful. I needed a place to relax. Here is my review. What it does well: The facilities are immaculate and beautiful. The Spa Terra facilities are new, and as other reviewers have stated, very beautiful. The ladies' locker room and the entire spa are in a cave, everything is immaculate and it feels like old world Italy... All the ceilings are curved - as if the builder carved the ceilings out of the cave. The steam room is very large and very hot (just like a steam room should be) and the jacuzzi is well sized and adorned by a wall fountain that spans the entire back wall. It feels like a destination spa should feel. My massage. I had a deep tissue massage and my therapist was excellent. He did everything and then some during our 50 min session, a lot more than i normally get at a destination type resort where they know you won't be coming back. What it lacks: Customer service. The customer service is not quite up to par with what a destination spa should be. It's a 5* facility but with the attentiveness and attention to detail of 3* service. Cell Phone reception. There is absolutely no cell phone reception in the spa. For some, this may be a plus (relaxation/no ringing phones) but for me, this was problematic as I couldn't communicate with the outside world and the reception desk was constantly going to voicemail. The showers. The shower with 6 shower heads was out of order on the women's side, but my husband said his shower was great. The downpour showerhead is impressive, but the water pressure could be better. The spa menu. I ordered lunch from the spa menu. I had a club sandwich, which was served with some chips. The presentation could have been better, - very sparse, nothing to rave about, and there were no drinks on the spa menu. At the refreshment station in the spa, you had a choice of water, iced tea, or tea. No coffee. I would have liked some coffee. The apples which were available next to the jacuzzi were all bruised and didn't appear to be fresh. The facial. I had the European facial from the lead therapist, and having had facials for years now at all different types of spas, I would have to say it was just ok. It wasn't bad, but it was by no means good, and it didn't merit the price I paid. After a facial, I want to feel like "wow, that was awesome," but I was left disappointed. Consider getting a massage or scrub instead (as other reviewers have commented they've had good experiences with these). Overall, if you're looking for a place to lounge around and relax, this is definitely it, beautiful facilites, clean, spacious, well decorated, and cozy. A perfect getaway. If you're used to 5* service you might consider waiting until Spa Terra grows up. The foundation is there but the execution needs to be fine-tuned, in my opinion. Please note that this review is based on 1 visit. Perhaps they had an off day. If someone who goes there regularly has a consistently better experience, that might be more helpful than mine. My "BEST" overall spa experiences to date have been at the Mirage, the Bellagio and Canyon Ranch in Vegas (in that order), and the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok. My friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday - we all really loved it! The entire experience is excellent. Arrive early so you have time to enjoy the whirlpool and relaxation room. The cave is relaxing and serene in every aspect and definitely worth the money (although it is pricey). I got the Mare & Terra body treatment which includes a sea salt scrub, mud wrap, and mini scalp massage. I loved every minute of it. The best part is that the lady giving the treatment didn't keep blabbing like at some other places. She was also really considerate and careful in keeping my private areas covered - she really made me feel comfortable since I was little uneasy about taking off all my clothes. My friends and I came here for a bridal shower/girls day at the spa. We all had massage appointments and had a full day use of the facilities. When we arrived, we were taken to the locker room to change. There's a steam room and jacuzzi. It was extremely busy that day. There were only two restrooms in the womens locker room. And one of the toilets was clogged. The 'waiting room' was nice. Large wall fountain and some seating. Water, tea and towels available also in the waiting room. Massage was great! I got the deep tissue massage. My therapist was Jackie. She's this tiny little person with the strongest hands! I would definitely request for her again! The massage table was warm. Normally that would be nice but it was a warm day and I was just in the steam room area. I really liked the neck/scalp massage and the hot towels wrapped around my feet! After my massage, the girls and I spent the rest of the day lounging and catching up, quietly, in the waiting room. It probably would have been a better experience if it wasn't so busy that day. Two other negatives that happened that day but worked out, one of girls didn't get her scalp massage add-on that she requested. The therapist said he didn't have it in his schedule. But told the front desk to comp her lunch and give her add'l 10% off for forgetting. And two of the girls had a cheese plate in their package and that was forgotten as well. I had contacted the spa and they said they will give that to the two girls as a comp as well, the next time they come in. Overall, I recommend the facility. It's very serene and relaxing. read more

There's a reason this was awarded one of the top 100 spas in the world... It's unlike any other spa I've been to! It's underground technically so once you get past that it's amazing! My boyfriend and I got the seduction couples package which included our own private room with a bathtub that we got to enjoy for 25 minutes before our massages. Complimentary champagne and chocolates were provided! The lady's we had massage us were Kollette and Victoria. I had Kollette and she was awesome! Prior to the massage, the spa and steam room were so enjoyable! There was hints of eucalyptus in the steam room that honestly has made my skin glow for the past 2 days! You are in for a treat if you choose to come here, it's worth every penny!!! read more

Came here for a facial, and it was so relaxing. I had Mirjam, who was really professional. Asked the right questions before starting, and also gave me a play by play of all the steps before we started. The spa itself was really relaxing too. There's a waiting room with a water fountain and fluffy couches. The only prob was lack of good magazines. I had to read "calico cat" a childrens book, but it was still relaxing. They have iced tea and hot tea, and apples also. ' The women's locker room was super nice too. You get the usual robe, towel, slippers and beauty products, but its the showers that was fun. They have one shower with multiple jets of water coming out of the wall, very big waste of water so I just tried it out for a little bit. The decor is traditional but very neat and clean. I luv facials, body treatments, massages! Anything that has someone else working on me that makes me feel like heaven! I had an extraordinary weekend at my sister's bacherlorette party. We were all invited to Napa for a weekend of wine and food. I had the Dolce Body Treatment. It was actually invigorating. The lady rubbed me down with exfoliating rub from head to toe and back and front. I didn't mind the total nakedness since hey these ladies seen all shapes and sizes! Then she hosed me down, literally with warm water while I laid on the table. I forgot to mention that the table is covered with layers of plastic and towels. After the wash, I was rubbed with honey! Yes, real honey that I can lick off if I really wanted to. Then she wrapped me in the plastic and towels and left me in the candle lit room with nice sleepy tunes. 10-15 minutes later, she came back and washed me again. Then the last step was a rub of passionfruit lotion... oh I felt like baby after all this. This spa resort is amazing. The location is great, and the staff was really professional and nice. Everything was wonderful. Definitely will bring my hubbie here and share the same experience with him. read more

This place is a really earthy type of zen... the corridors make me feel like i'm walking through a scene out of either an old euro flick or down the halls of hogwarts! Locker rooms are clean. Staff is friendly and the treatments are great! I had the euro facial and the cool eye treatment and although the extractions hurt, the esthetician I had was really informative. I also liked the hair treatment even though I could have done it at home my self. Both of the technician's I seen gave me a decent foot rub which I think only came with one treatment. You have full access to the facilities until 8 PM so you can leave and come back to use the spa and steam room... that's a good deal. I will be coming back to try a massage from Mercer! I think I have become a spa brat, or at least I hope. Anyway in a cave, I really doubt that. The spa is located outside (back ) of Meritage Resort, which looks lovely by the way. In my mind I picture walking downstairs to a dark cave, but to my surprise it was a separate building with construction of a cave. The paint and wall decor definitely painted the idea of a cave, but NOPE to me it was not a real cave. The staff was friendly. The locker rooms were clean with friendly staff that kept up the cleanliness. There was a jacuzzi and a steam room. I found myself looking for a suana room, but did not find. They were missing some toiletries, such as make up remover, moisturizer, and hair items to fix yourself up (nice and pretty wink wink) and seats. It was over priced yes it was and felt very touristy. I had Samantha for my couples massage and she was great. I prefer to have quiet peace during my massage so she was very respectful and let me do that. She focused on my requested areas and did her thing. My hubbs, who therapist name, I can not remember. Almost had me laughing.. why? Well when I looked over for a glance she was massaging his ears, which my hubbs did not request. Maybe she was killing time, who knows. Anyway it was a lovely idea... would I go back definitely not... why? Very touristy and expensive and it was an automatic 18% gratuity. Went here for a girls trip to napa. Pure heaven. We did the tasting by the spa entrance first. I had a vino wrap treatment. My therapist was friendly and professional. I felt so refreshed afterwards. Love this place! David might be the best masseuse ever! He gives a wonderful deep tissue massage and is one of the only people ever to get this one stubborn knot out of my shoulder! They also have a wonderful jacuzzi and steam room you can relax in prior to your treatment. OMG! This place is like a dream. No really, like a place that you may see on a movie set. The instant you walk into this wonderful cave, your blood pressure probably will drop a few points. This is the ultimate spa in Napa. I don't remember the person who did my massage because I went there several months ago but she was incredible. The locker room is equipped with your robe and slippers. After the massage you can relax in the sauna or hot tub. You are welcome to stay as long as you wish.
