Came here for my Bachelorette weekend and booked 110 min couples massage with my friend. The massage was nothing short of amazing (I even embarrassingly slept for 20 mins of it). I visited this spa over the weekend and sadly we didn't have a great experience. It was very difficult to get a hold of someone to make the appointment in the first place as they do not answer the phones often. We finally made appointments, showed up at 2pm, then had to check in, get shown the locker room, find lockers, change in the locker room, go to another room, fill out paperwork, then our treatments could begin. Sadly that meant we only got 30 minute massages that were supposed to be 50 minutes and it cost over $200 each, plus 20% tip included. I have never been to a spa that did not give you the full time of your treatment, especially at that price point. We were never told we needed to be there 30 minutes early since there were so many steps involved before you even get to the treatment room. The person at the front desk gave us 15% off and some wine, but we still spent nearly $200 each for a 30 minute experience, which is absurd. After the short treatments we went to sit by the pool, which had a DJ playing and lots of loud/drunk people acting like they were in Las Vegas - not relaxing at all, but good for people watching if you're into that sort of thing... Overall, there are much more sophisticated places to go in the Napa and Sonoma region, so I cannot recommend this place. read more

This spa never fails me!! Very clean, organized, and great ambiance to achieve relaxation. Got a 100 minute CBD massage today and it was worth. Skylar was my therapist and she was amazing! Because it was a long massage, I got a complimentary eye mask warmer and a foot scrub to go with it. Going in there, there is little to no reception, which I love, so just be aware of that. My massage was good, however,the first half of my massage was spent thinking about my check in experience at the Spa and how it was racially insensitive. I could not help but to feel perturbed about my experience. When I arrived to check in there was one gentleman in front of me checking out. Once he left, the person checking me in looked at me and asked, "How were your services *insert Asian last name, not of my decent*" I was perplexed that she would even ask me this since I was the only person standing there. I was taken back she assumed who I was, likely because I am Asian, however I am of Filipino decent. It is these type of comments that can be considered micro aggressive and racist. I would have not taken it personally if she did not include to call me using an Asian last name from her screen. I have my husband's last name, which is not of Asian decent and feel she should have not assumed. From that first encounter it had set the stage for my service. During my massage I was so anxious because of my race, that I would be treated differently. I became subconscious because I was a minority. The person who checked me in could have left out saying a name rather than picking an Asian name from her screen. The situation could have been easily avoided. Given the current rise in violence and xenophobia in the AAPI Community, you should take this opportunity to educate ALL staff about micro aggressions and xenophobia that can occur in the workplace. I booked a "Couple's Escape" package here for a Saturday in July. It included a private room with 30 min soak in a tub + couple's massage. The highlight of the visit was my massage. Kolette did a really good job working into my knots. I'm dinging off stars for a couple reasons: 1 - We were told that each locker room (men/women) had spa amenities that were available to us all day. My boyfriend said he couldn't enjoy the amenities since the hot tub in his locker room was out of order. I feel like the spa workers should have let us know that when we arrived or at least tried to accommodate us since this is one of the amenities included in the price that we paid. 2 - During our couple's massage, the masseuses/spa workers decided to drain the tub during our massage... the loud sound of the water draining down the tub definitely threw off the "zen" vibe in the room. Not sure why they had to do that then and there. 3 - Not sure if they overbooked but I personally couldn't spend much time in the spa amenities because my locker room was overcrowded with a party of 10-15 women all around the hot tub, making an incredible amount of noise (like, screaming/yelling/hollering). I know the spa isn't responsible for the actions of the guests but it was a shame that I couldn't stay relaxed or use the locker room amenities... Overall I think this place was a bit disappointing considering how much it costs, but improvements could be made easily. Awesome spa right in the Napa valley. Came here on a whim and was lucky they had one same day appointment left on a Saturday. There is tons of parking right outside the Meritage'smain entrance, just turn to your left when you come in to the cave and you'll be right at the spa. I was initially bummed to see I had a male masseuse (Jameyson? With a Y) but he gave me one of the best massages I've had in my life! He was also very professional and quick with draping, and aaaahhhhmazing with his hands! Shower areas are also A+. The amenities are great and I loved the combo of the jets and overhead shower. I was a little surprised to see everyone in the jacuzzi wearing swim suits but it wasn't really clear if it was suits optional. Only cons- the co-Ed waiting room is a little small and tight. It was completely full at 6 PM on a Saturday. Compared to other spas at this price point ($165 base for 50 mins + 20% gratuity) I wish they had an array of snacks and a larger area to sit. I ended up sitting in the middle of the room but felt uncomfortable and started wandering instead. Will definitely come back with my beau! read more

After reading some of the negative reviews about this place, I was a little nervous coming here considering there are other places I can get a massage at, for a more reasonable price. My cousins and I came here for a spa day and to relax. I was impressed with how beautiful this place was, and their attention to details. We were greeted at the front, and escorted to the ladies room, and given robes and slippers. Right when you walk into the ladies room, you are instantly relaxed with the different smells of aromatherapy. If you forget toiletries, this place pretty much had it all! Their showers were amazing. Before our massages, we went into the serenity room to wind down, where we had spa water and snacks. I got the 50 minute massage and my therapist was awesome. Her pressure was on point, which I preferred medium/firm, and the room was very comfortable. Hubby booked the couple's seduction package. The staff was very helpful in emails prior to our trip. The day of, all the staff were great and on point. The spa facilities itself I would rate 5 stars. It was so gorgeous and definitely better than the one we went to last year for our anniversary. I'd rate that package 4 stars. It included 2 glasses of champagne and 2 chocolates. It was silly, really, seeing 2 pieces of chocolates. Last year, the spa we went to included a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries which was much more legit. I liked that the bath and massage was in the same room so we're not shuffling from one room to the other. The massage was ok. I usually get Thai massages so I'm used to more hard core massages. I travel all over the world and have visited many spas, however this has to be the worst experience ever. I've had many events here at Meritage resorts and they have been excellent. I decided that I should try the spa and make a day of it. The staff on the phone made it sound wonderful, so I booked it. When I arrived, I was taken back to the women's area and rushed with a quick location of restrooms and showers. My massage was ok, typically they ask you if you mind them spraying oil all over your face before doing so. Things were ok, I sat in the steam room and jacuzzi and for the 2 hours that I was there, not once did someone check on me. As I was getting dressed, another guest came in and they explained to her that they had wine by the glass and food available. They also mentioned the pool which they gave her a tour of. That's when I thought, hmmm I didn't know about any of this. I would have absolutely purchased a glass a wine while I was relaxing. I explained all of this to ladies at the front desk who really different have any authority to do anything. Finally, the manager I think she was the manager came out and I explained everything again to her. She offered me a glass of wine and a meal but by this point I was irritated and wasn't relaxed. I wasn't looking for a free meal. I was disappointed with service, which ruined my spa day. A little hard to recover from that. Finally, after at least 30 minutes we came to a mutual agreement and it was fair but my day was still ruined. I will not come back to this spa. read more

Girls weekend and random trip to a Day Spa we found on Yelp? HELL YES! We scoped out spas and Spa Terra did not disappoint. What we really were looking for was a real day spa. Not just a spa with a "sitting room." This spot comes with a whirlpool and steam room (both of which were DIVINE). If you book an appointment here you have access to these all day. We came about an hour early to enjoy and it was exactly what we wanted and service inside was great. For the service I got -- Deep Tissue Massage (60 min): $165 Lavender butter upgrade: $25 Total with tip: $228 Friends got the Orange Blossom Bliss treatment and said it was magical! The massage was one of the better ones I've had. The body butter was nice, but I felt like $25 was pretty steep. If you compare $165 is actually one of the cheaper massages in the area and actually on par with Cincinnati prices so I went ahead and splurged. Lastly, we enjoyed the showers and got ready for tastings here. We used their makeup mirrors, blow driers etc. They really had everything we needed and were very accommodating. Minor complaint: would be nice to have access to the pool (people reading know that the pretty pictures of the pool you see should be on the hotel listing and not the spa. I don't know if they used to offer this or not). Very happy with my service and spa experience. And the grounds are absolutely beautiful! I enjoyed this Spa a lot. I came early Sunday morning with my friend in which we both got a couple's massage. The price for deep tissue and regular massage was $140/each but with tip & gratuity, it came to $198 each.. lol.. kind of expensive. Th whole process was great. I got to change into a robe, wear slippers, lounge around the men's locker room, shower, shave, drink unlimited teas, etc. Unfortunately the men's jacuzzi tub was broken at the moment but their steam room was excellent! It was hot, steamy, and the eucalyptus was potent. My eyes started to open up as well as my nostrils. I like it a lot. The deep tissue massage by (Linda) was great. She introduced my to different aromatic oils before the process. She even questioned what type of body-mood I was trying to accomplish at the end of the session in which I said "soothing". She did an excellent job with my back, legs, head, etc. The massage could've been a bit harder I feel (my type of deep tissue) but other than that, she did great. I enjoyed lounging in the Serenity lounge while waiting for my massage. I did like this Spa but I wish there were a bit more options for guests. I recommend getting a treatment done if you're planning on staying here at this resort; it's not a must BUT a great option if you're looking of something to do around here. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT GO HERE. I made reservations for 3 facials an entire MONTH in advance, called directly to double check that same day that they were booked online. Verbally received a confirmation by the front desk that the reservations were confirmed. The day before I never received a confirmation email or call so I called twice beginning at 9 AM and never received a call back to check if my reservations were still set. Mind you Ive emailed twice as well and don't get a call back until 7 PM DAY BEFORE that there is no record of our reservations. NO SERVICE RECOVERY OFFER and nothing was done to help remedy the situation. It should not be my job to get ahold of someone for the entire day when i'm spending an arm and a leg for a facial. My husband and I just got home from enjoying our anniversary together with the couples Seduction package. Private massage room with soaking tub, champagne and chocolate! It was pure bliss! Our masseuses were Jennifer and Collette. They were both amazing. Our 50min massage felt like 2hours it was jus perfect. When they left the room my husband whispered, "everywhere else sucks compared to this" lol. The amenities were perfectly fine and many were paraben free! The showers were spacious with rain shower heads. Comfy robes and slippers. A beautiful common area to sit with my husband as we relaxed with blankets and listened to water trickling down the rock walls. Very nice and clean jacuzzi tub and large steam room. We had all access to the pool, went and did some wine tasting, are sandwiches in the spa cave, and bowled at Crush Ultra Lounge. Perfect service. Perfect Spa. Perfect Day! Cost: $162 for the 50min "spa terra" massage with aromatherapy ($15 extra ) gratuity is included at 20% ( equaled $27) Ambiance: the cave is nice . Tables with water and pitchers (apples as well) line the tunnels. The serenity room was comfortable and spacious . Wish I would have utilized it during my stay. The room includes light refreshments Bathrooms : clean and spacious . Great amenities including a pool and sauna . Lockers include robes and slippers . Attendants : pretty kind. I think we had 1 who wasn't used to orienting customers because it seems pretty hectic at first, and they made it seem as if I needed to wait outside the serenity room 5 minutes before my scheduled time . However this wasn't the case :-( Massage : I had Manuel and I enjoyed him ! The massage included a warm compress for your back and foot wrap. I appreciated the small touches such as laying the robe over the Table for me so I could reach it easier at the conclusion of my massage. I found this place while Yelping for a weekend trip to Napa and I am so glad that Yelp has taught me to A) find a place B) read the reviews of the Elite before I actually decide. This place is amazing! I don't need to pull the "It's in a cave" rant because it's likely that every review starts with that already. This place is pretty large. Men's locker room was practically empty and I had it all to myself. I felt like it was My Own Private Idaho so I just set up shop in there while I was waiting for my massage. I read the paper, sat in perfect silence for a few, drank some tea, sat in the steam room and it was heavenly. The hot stone massage (50 minutes) was really good. I would say it's a bit over the top as far as the price, but what can you do? When your woman says find a spa, you can't hit up the spa that's on the side streets and has non stop chatter going on just to save $25. Service was very good. We were given the tour by a very pretty, young and kind young lady and she made sure we were taken care of, which I love b/c it makes me feel much more important than I really am. Being the first spa that I have ever attended in my life, I was in total awe when I walked into this beautiful underground gem. I'm almost positive that it's going to be hard to beat this. Literally everything about it was perfect. I made reservations with my two cousins for a 50-minute facial and I couldn't be any happier with the services. When we first walked in the concierge gave us a quick tour of the spa and all of it's amenities which was definitely helpful. They offered a comfortable robe and sandals just in case you didn't come prepared, as well as lockers. They had the cutest vanities with hair brushes, hair spray, hair ties, tampons, q-tips, pretty much everything a woman needs lol. Everything was very neat and tidy which made me feel very comfortable since I'm a germaphobe lol. They have private showers and changing rooms. The jacuzzi and steam room part of the spa was simply beautiful. What stood out to me was that they had water and cucumber water available throughout the whole spa which was really nice! My facial was simply fantastic. They wrapped my feet with warm towels and she gave me a brief foot massage which was a plus! She knew exactly what she was doing and make my face look automatically much better. She even gave me tips on what I should do to better take care of my facial skin. Its a cave. What more do I need to say?! The feeling of going underground to "get away" and relax is unmatched with any other spa experience. Kudos! Upon walking in, you just feel the natural serenity and transformation into peace and exclusivity. You walk a good 500 feet before getting to the counter, then they walk you back through double doors and further into the cave until you reach your locker room. Their robes are better that most robes I've come across. The massage tables are heated and they even heat up your feet by wrapping warm towels around them. I opted for their Terra Massage and was not let down whatsoever. Ask for Katie if you go there, shes got talent! The facilities are pretty clean too. I enjoyed the wet steam room all by myself in yet another cave like room and you must try the huge shower that sprays from all angles. Another nice touch was their waiting room with a waterfall wall and these journals you can read of all their visitors comments. I would have left a comment if there was a pen available or if I had more time. You can enjoy tea or lemon water while waiting too. I would suggest they add refreshments like fruit or nuts, where I've seen at some other places. read more

Second time here at the spa and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. Facility was clean, atmosphere was nice, and the massage was not bad. I asked for the Swedish style massage but didn't feel like my masseuse had much strength. I didn't feel too relaxed afterwards. For the most part, it felt like she was rubbing lotion on me, rather than massaging. I asked for a little more strength but eh, didn't quite happen. I heard from my sister that the tension tamer was actually really good, so I'd probably give that a try next time. Again, facilities is amazing, and definitely worth coming to. read more

Truly a magical experience! This spontaneous spa day was so worth it! During our summer trip to Napa, we decided to see if there were any spas with open appointments and thankfully Spa Terra was able to accommodate us. I opted for the orange blossom bliss treatment, which includes a reflexology foot cleansing, a lymphatic dry brush, and massage. It was quite possibly the most calming treatment. The dry brushing was something new to me and way less intense than I imagined it - the hard bristles are brushed lightly and quickly in a specific motion that actually feels quite nice, followed by calming massage motions across the skin. The room I was in was like a giant cave with a tub in it, but my treatment was all on the massage table. I highly recommend! I think I'm now hooked on treatments over solely a massage because you get extra perks and elements to the massage experience, adding to the relaxation. We took advantage of the whirlpool and steam room in advance of our appointments, it is a day spa after all, so it's worth coming before your appointment. Bring your bathing suit! There are chilled washcloths to keep you cool and refreshed, along with citrus water. There aren't many hooks so we had to pile a few robes on top of each other and I think someone took my robe on accident, which felt a little skeevy because after my steam I had to put on someone else's robe (also the fault of the robe snatcher, not necessarily the spa). They also have a room where you can wait for your appointment with cozy chairs and tea. A great option if you want some quiet reading time. Following our treatments, we took showers and utilized their blowdryers and mirrors to get ready for our day of wine tastings that followed. It was well worth it. The spa is literally in a cave, you don't have cell service (and shouldn't be using your phone anyway), but it was a wonderfully peaceful afternoon. It also would have been so fabulous to have access to the pool. It was a beautiful day and we would have loved to stay longer, but I believe that access was just for hotel guests. read more

My first visit this summer and I'm already dreaming of returning as soon as possible! First, don't be alarmed, its in a wine cave. But as soon as you walk in, the staff are very welcoming, putting you in the "oh-la-la relaxation mode" and you know you are going to LOVE this place. Before our services, we made use of the pool and in June, it was perfect weather for laying for some sun. Then we moved inside to enjoy the facilities, which were clean and well maintained by the staff. The only daunting thing was the complete and freeform nakedness of some folks (OMG!) - which in turn made me uncomfortable. Services were awesome - my friend and I had a scrub first, which smelled amazing and left you feeling soft, smooth and well moisturized. Following that, was our massage which was heavenly, great pressure and technique. By the time we were done, I only wished it was longer (which I could have chosen). We were relaxed. Then waiting for us, was our snack that included, champagne, fruit and beautiful cheese plate. Oh...so yummy! The spa is part of a hotel, which seemed great as well. Putting it on my list of possible stays next time I visit Napa. But returning to the spa is a definite. read more

Took my friend here to try this place for a second time. Pre-treatment we actually spent time at the pool and ordered lunch. It was amazing and we had a great few hours lounging while we waited for our appointments. Check-in at spa was easy. The women's locker is great and the entire area is tranquil and well equipped. They have all the essentials, including steam, plunge, showers, etc. The treatment rooms are great and my facial was the best I ever had. The gift shop is cute and smells great. I feel obligated to provide feedback with regards to the poor hospitality and lack of customer service displayed by the staff at Spa Terra for our massage appointments. While vacationing from the East Coast, my four guests received 15 minute-mediocre massages, but paid for 90 minute sessions. I contacted Nikki, who is the Director and I have yet to receive a response. The visit to Spa Terra was supposed to be the highlight of our trip, but instead it was a huge let down. Came today and did the duetto package (think that's what it's called?). I had been here once before and love the atmosphere and ambiance of this spa. It's very relaxing, clean, and unique being inside a cave! My massage by Kate was excellent. 5 stars. Had a 50 min Swedish massage and it was very nice. Wish I could have laid there all day! Then I had the Organic Bliss Facial by Cindy, which was also great. She described everything she was doing, explained the products as she used them, and even massaged my feet and shoulders! I caught myself falling asleep several times throughout the facial, that's how relaxing and enjoyable it was! As I'm writing this review 12 hrs later, my skin is still as soft as when I left the facial. It feels like silk! When friends are in town, this is always a place we like to take them for a spa day. Also a great way to spend a birthday or special occasion. I live in Napa and always enjoy coming to this spa. Overall, 5 stars for the ladies who provided me with my treatments today! Fairly good, but a bit pricey. If you're willing to drop some $$ this place is worth checking out. I really liked my masseuse--she applied just the right amount of pressure for my deep tissue massage! (unfortunately, I forgot her name!) Love, love the cave! They have redeemed themselves since my last visit!! From the warm greeting at entrance, to the attentiveness of staff and touchups of the spa facilities, to this time ensuring they had a male staff member servicing the mens locker room, I felt I was back in tranquility. During the week, as a guest of the resort, you can do a spa pass for only $25. That includes the serenity lounge, separate mens and womens locker rooms with cozy robes, that include rain showers, steam room, and private jacuzzi. Also later in the week, the jacuzzi at our condo next door wasn't working, and I really needed a good relaxing soak. I stopped by the spa during their last hour of being open, and they were more than accommodating to allow me to use the facilities at no charge which was very nice of them. I am so glad to have this available to me when I visit, will definitely revisit next time we are here. read more
