Nothing my gf And i dont love about this place. Super friendly staff, their food is BOMB like i would be confident in every item on the menu type bomb, and the drinks are tasty and actually hit. They do not slack on the liquor nor is it overkill- yes, an actual drink worth ~$15! Small spot, but table turn over seems quick (naturally, not bc they rush you out) even on a Friday night. Pretty loud for dinner like on a Wednesday night if you just don't feel like cooking at home but for a Friday/Saturday night it fits the vibe. Havent come for brunch yet but thats definitely next! I've been here a total of 4 times each time, the experience has gotten worse and worse. First time: Got two margaritas and steak quesedillas, everything tasted amazing and I could not wait to come back with more friends. Only con was that service was a little slow. Oh and it's an extra charge to pay with card, so bring cash. Second time: taco tuesday. Service still a little slow. All drinks were good and both the steak and shrimp tacos were great. Mind you, on taco tuesday, shrimp and fish tacos are an extra $1. Oh and did I mention any flavor for any drink is an extra $1? Third time: taco tuesday. My friends and I got the exact same thing we got last time except this time the steak tacos were insanely spicy. To the point they couldn't refill my water fast enough. In addition to the meat being prepared with a spicy green sauce, the steak looked more like ground beef... Also the music was so loud it was impossible to have a conversation or talk to the waiter. Oh and if you order chips n guac but run out of chips, it's another $2 for more chips. Fourth (and last) time: ladies night ($5 margs all day thursday). Again, music much too loud. Got the hibiscus margarita which tasted like medicine and my friend got the watermelon margarita which tasted good; however, this time our drinks were served in a tiny glass!! Much smaller than the glasses our drinks have been served in before! Also got the steak quesadilla that I've gotten previously, which was priced as $15(+$2 for steak) but we were billed for $19. Told the waiter about this discrepancy and she said she would tell her manager. Overall, they keep finding new ways to upcharge you and rip you off. First, they charge you an additional 3% to pay by credit card. It is never mentioned until you get the bill and the menu has the cash prices. We had half cash and they still tried to charge us 3% for the portion that was cash. They gave us back that portion of the 3% and a free dessert after we complained but it is still wrong. The food was good and fresh. It is overpriced and the 3% makes it worse. We went on a Tuesday and they are understaffed. It has limited Mexican but does have some tacos and other dishes. Octopus was excellent. Drinks were good but not very strong. Not sure if I would return, mostly because of the 3% up charge. read more

To start off with, greattttt ambiance ! The wall art, the decor , the lighting... amazing. The margarita's are beyond what was expected. They have a bunch of flavors but we got the tamarind. You can actually taste the tamarind in the drink not just some artificial tamarind juice. And a pitcher is only like 35 I think. The food was okay, not great. Definitely not authentic; an American twist . The enchiladas are my fav, it has its own flare of being really sweet at first then spicy at the end. It was kinda odd that they had a DJ there playing music, especially for such a small place. Do they expect people to dance? I don't get it. But it was too loud. We had dinner reservations for 6:30 for happy hour but it was not needed. The décor and the atmosphere gave you that warm comfortable feeling and we were greeted with our server who was very attentive. We shared the Guacamole Classico, the Pollo con Achiote Enchilada (since it was their special) and we had to try the squid. Compared to other Mexican restaurants, they give you a lot of Guac for $11! There are no affordable options, from the outside it seems pretty low key but when you go in it's a whole other story. The biggest surprise was the 3% discount at the bill if you have credit card. Which isn't a real discount because you pay the menu is on the cash price. So if you don't have cash your paying a 3% on top of your bill. WTF?! Seriously?! The food here was absolutely amazing!! I would have given 5 stars but I was really taken aback by a couple service issues and concerns. There were 3 empty tables in the back and the hostess asked us if we wanted to sit inside or outside, we said inside - she showed us the worse table right behind the hostess stand - so we said ok we'll sit outside then, we don't want to sit at that table. We then proceeded on going outside and it was about to pour rain so we decided we didn't want to sit outside anymore and we would wait for the next available table besides the one by the door entrance. The hostess said ok we will sit you guys in the back but if we get a larger party we will have to move you. I was in utter shock and disbelief that this statement was made. I really wanted to just walk out the restaurant but we were already there and hungry and just tried to make the best of it. **see below update *Came here last night (Sunday). This was one of our three dinner options. What made us pick this place was it was busy but not packed and a new kid on the block so intriguing. I also like the big windows that allow you to see into the restaurant. It draws you in. It's a small place so I would recommend coming on an off peak time. One of the 1st things you notice are the Mexican artwork and wood tables (the grain and the shapes are a beauty). A smiling waiter came over with the menus. It didn't take long for us to decide what we wanted. We started off with the civeche de camarones (a good way to judge a place) and as for entrees the paella and camarones al chipotle and maduros. While we were waiting for our app the waiter asked for our drink orders but we didn't know what we wanted since there was no menu on the table. He grabs one and I quickly notice how expensive the drinks are. I didn't want to gamble on mixed drinks for those prices so I go with a glass of Albarino (the waiter let me try it 1st) and my friend a Corona. The appetizer took a little longer than I thought it should but when it came out you are fixated on the presentation which makes your mouth jealous. I almost forgot to take a pic! The civeche had the right balance of ingredients and was fresh. All that was left on the plate was the decoration. Again our entrees took more time to come out than I thought but I don't mind if it was going to be anything like the appetizer and the music was a good distraction. The waiter approaches and asks who ordered the paella and I waved my hand with excitement (portion was smaller than I'm used to). Then he says to my friend here's your camarones enchiladas and I say no we ordered the camarones al chipotle. My friend is better than I and said it looks good so I'll just try it. Problem averted. I'm not a big enchilada person but I am greedy so I immediately put my fork into one and you know what. It was tasty! I thought it normally comes with rice and beans but this did not. Back to my dish. The rice was cooked perfectly! It was flavorful and there was plenty of seafood in the mix (although I didn't remember seeing octopus)! *We were happy and very satisfied until it came time to get the check. We waited a loong time. Then as I normally do look over it with a fine tooth comb and at the bottom of the bill it says technology fee. A who? So we call the waiter over and ask for an explanation. He says this is a new thing for credit cards. I say I eat out a lot and I have never heard or experienced this. So in other words what they get charged by their company to process cards they are making the patrons pay for. Here's my gripe. #1. It should have been posted or explained on the outset when we sat down giving us an option #2. It was already on the bill. How do you get to assume we were even paying with a card? This left a bad taste in our mouths and as I left I really read through some other reviews and saw that there is definitely some issue when it comes to this restaurant and cards. Despite the slower service I would have given them 4 stars if it weren't for that surprise on the bill. **We're in this area a lot. Tried a new Korean restaurant. Spanglish was having Sip and Paint night. My friend had never done it before so perfect. It was around 7pm. The restaurant was busy. David the owner was there. I immediately talk to him about our previous experience . I know as a new restauranteur there are growing pains and I gathered that he is proactively making changes. Specifically in his pos system. The technology fee that we saw on our bill now reads credit card surcharge fee. A sign will be posted regarding this. He even showed me that other restaurants are doing the same thing but they call the fee something else. He was really concerned about the mix ups and showed us hospitality. Contrary to me thinking he would be a rude chef he's actually pleasant and modest. We had a great time at sip and paint. Good vibes all around. We didn't have a problem with the food the other time. I came back to my review since I noticed a fee charged by the restaurant the other day and I haven't been there since December. Reading through the reviews, it's a tip. I have to look through my statements to make sure this is correct. I don't remember what I left as a tip. Not sure why it's being taken again months later. To the owner, I did leave a cash tip. Not sure how you say you have my receipt to post since you don't even have my full name. Also, I am not going to call you so then you can have my cell phone number. From what I am hearing from fellow Yelpers, you harass customers to take their reviews down. If you have this so called letter from the bank that explains the mistake on their part, why don't you post it? Since I left the tip in cash, the cc mistake wouldn't apply to me. The food & service here was fantastic. I only removed one star because I felt the Mexican Mixta was a bit on the salty side. However, it was still great . The food overall was flavorful, cooked well, and the portions were large. We ordered a mango margarita pitcher for happy hour which was also great. I'm really pleased with the food & experience. This was fabulous. We came here for dinner on a Friday and split the queso with mushrooms which we thoroughly enjoyed. My parents and I each got a different type of taco and we loved ALL of them. We came around 12:30 on Sunday and was immediately seated. The server was friendly, always had a smile on his face. We ordered the classic guacamole to start, and you can tell it's really fresh. They give you more chips when you run out too! We've ordered the chorizo guacamole before and that was really good as well. We didn't do the bottomless brunch, but ordered a bellini. The fruit puree was strawberry, and it was DELICIOUS. What we got for the table (other than the guac): Chilaquiles (brunch menu item): the tomatillo sauce soaked tortilla chips were full of flavor, but I'm not into soft chips, I prefer them crunchy. It's pretty obvious that if you order this the tortillas are going to be soft though, so this isn't a critique, just a personal preference. The others really liked it. Croque Monsieur (brunch menu item): pretty good, eat it while it's hot though, the side of fries are the soft kind rather then the crunchy kind. Mexican omlette: so good, I recommend this! The egg is a circle that's folded in half over the ingredients. They didn't have ceviche during brunch, so we got the Mahi Mahi Baja (3 small tacos), it was fine. We saw them make the sangria at the bar and they literally used A WHOLE CAN OF GINGER ALE, filled it up with MORE THAN HALF OF BIG ICE CUBES, added a little bit of red wine, and some blueberries, strawberries and two thin slices of oranges. Their drink menu did not specify the price $14 - whether it was per glass or a pitcher - but whatever we thought it wouldn't be too much. I personally thought the pitcher was $14 because it was literally ginger ale with ice. But. A pitcher of red sangria was $60.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went there on a Tuesday night, Bell blvd was pretty empty. The food was very good (we got a burrito and quesadilla and wings as appetizer). The reason for the 3 stars is mainly the experience we had with their pricing. Their display clearly said "Happy hour all day" so we ordered drinks from the happy hour menu, but then were charged full price for both even after asking about the sign. Their reasoning was that the "happy hour" only referred to the classic margarita. Next, when it came to pay the bill, they add a 3.25% fee to credit card transactions, but that was very clear on the check. Plenty of other places to choose in the area. read more

ok so listen I've been going since it opened up...prices big time raised, pitchers up$10 since opening and service and smiles used to be great. When you got the big bill they used to serve a shot of tequila on the house so that would make it easier to swallow and it was done consistentl! past 3x we went nothing! no shots at end, service was sub par and really was nothing special anymore. I guess when you are in business u get lazy and really don't try to impress anymore. I enjoyed it for a while but have crossed this restaurant off our list....no more, and we went 2-3x a month. Considering bell blvd turns restaurants over every month they should have gone out of their way to make this place what it should be! Sorry to say u didn't for a small place and u lost our business! Again don't get me wrong it's ok but for the money I can head over to Avo Taco for cheaper and actually a fun place jus a few miles down...best of luck to u guys! read more

This place was phenomenal I am so excited to have this amazing new restaurant in my town! I couldn't wait for it to open I went straight after work, and when I arrived I noticed they had valet parking which made me very happy because sometimes parking on Bell boulevard can be very difficult I got there at about 6 PM on a Saturday night I walked in the door and was greeted by the owner, who was extremely friendly and got me a seat at the bar. it was already pretty crowded the bartender was extremely friendly there were two behind the bar and honestly both of them were very helpful and super friendly the one bartender helped me decide on a drink because I was extremely undecided everything looked so good. I got a drink with cucumber LOL and jalapeño but I don't remember The name of it either way I definitely recommend it a little bit more on the light, sweet side but not overwhelming sweet I suppose it depends on your taste but it was very refreshing very delicious. After speaking to the bartender again and the owner came over I decided on the tuna tartare and for sure it was a great decision I loved it! I know I was only here one time but I cannot wait to go back again and again and again! And try everything on the menu if the friendliness of the staff And the quality of the food stay as terrific as it was today I will become a regular! read more

The restaurant is quite cozy, nice set for a date. Low lighting, clean and fancy environment. The guac and chips were a nice starting appetizer followed by the ceviche which was my favorite. Chicken tacos and the shredded skirt steak enchiladas went well with the Cabernet. However, the 2016 Cabernet was the priciest I've seen so far at my local restaurants. Food: we had the ceviche, Chile relleno, and camarones chipotle and it was soooooooo delicious. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas also, it was NOT watered down at all.
