I've came to eat here several times. Usually get the same order ( Nachos) Now when I placed the order I had asked specifically for no jalapeños. My order came out, it had jalapeños on it, No problem. I asked for it to be removed, there was no real structure in the restaurant. I had different servers coming to me as if there wasn't a server assigned. I understand places get busy but that's why there's more than one server to serve and attend the tables. I got the plate again for the second time & By the time I got it, I wasn't really hungry. As I'm putting it To-go I see that there is still one jalapeño in my dish which seems to me they hand picked it out of my food? I don't see how ONE jalapeño can appear in my dish after I asked for them to provide me with a dish without jalapeños. What if I had an allergic reaction. These orders should be throughly checked before bringing them out to ensure a customers safety if they're making requests for their meal. read more

The food was pretty good, no complaints. However, the service was very slow. Also, they added a 18% gratuity to the check. I've seen this policy elsewhere for large parties, but there were only two of us. Additionally, they added 3.25% to the check for using a credit card (see photo). Came here on a date with my husband (new parents!) There was no one else in the restaurant, but we were in between meal rushes. So the service was pretty great. We enjoyed the food - and the drinks! Everything was fresh and flavorful. I had the suadero tacos, which I'd definitely order again. The chips and salsa for the table were tasty as well. Couple of disappointing points... the service was slow... and we were the 2nd table in the restaurant on a Friday late afternoon. There was no salsa and chips when you first come to the table -- I had to double check if this is a Mexican restaurant. We did order chips and guac. and queso fundido but did not get any chips and salsa. We order 4 items, carne asada (delicious) comes with rice and beans, shrimp enchiladas was delicious but disappointed it did not come with rice and beans. Chicken quesadilla - good. AND Mahi Mahi tacos - fish was about 2 inch long and deep fried --- which came out last about 10 minutes after all the other dishes was on the table. Therefore, our dishes were cold by the time the tacos came out. OVERALL it was a delicious experience. So glad its in the neighborhood. Better than the selections we have now. IT's a ticket shocker! Went for early Father's Day dinner. We first ordered some drinks and chicken nacho chips which were delicious and service was excellent. For main course I had the fish tacos which was not good. Too much batter and the fish inside was soggy with no flavor. The others 3 dishes my family ordered the meat were really salty, and the medium well steak was tough and dry, The side dishes that came with the main dishes were good especially the rice and beans. I was really on the fence between 3stars or 4 stars because the main entrees (carne asada and pollo al sarten) were great but the simple sides (regular guac and the rice and beans) weren't. We were the only ones dining since it's like zero degrees outside!!! So maybe that added to the attentiveness of the waitress. Either way, the waitress was very nice and friendly. Pollo al sarten : "the adobo sauce was bangin!" Says my partner. He really liked it and was very satisfied. Carne Asada : great flavor, super juicy. There were so fatty parts mid cut which i had to cut around but otherwise, almost perfect steak! No sauce necessary! Regular guac : it tasted like a really freshly made guacamole but it was almost flavorless. It didn't do anything for me. Maybe that carne guac would be a better option but I wouldnt recommend the regular one. The side rice and beans : the rice to me tasted like it was made from a microwave. ok so listen I've been going since it opened up...prices big time raised, pitchers up$10 since opening and service and smiles used to be great. When you got the big bill they used to serve a shot of tequila on the house so that would make it easier to swallow and it was done consistentl! past 3x we went nothing! no shots at end, service was sub par and really was nothing special anymore. I guess when you are in business u get lazy and really don't try to impress anymore. I enjoyed it for a while but have crossed this restaurant off our list....no more, and we went 2-3x a month. Considering bell blvd turns restaurants over every month they should have gone out of their way to make this place what it should be! Sorry to say u didn't for a small place and u lost our business! Went to get a car inspection that was going to take at least 3 hours so we decided to go on a hunt for dinner and found this place. My husband, 9 month old son and I took a seat in the first of the back 2 tables in order to accommodate a stroller (this place doesn't have high chairs). We decided to get the guacamole with pineapple as an appetizer, the paella and pork tacos to share, and mashed potatoes for the baby. Well the guacamole was so good that even the baby ate it up and cried for more! The paella was nice and flavorful with plenty bits of meat, and seafood, and 4 mussels. It was a very healthy portion. I know mashed potatoes are simple to make but I like that these were mashed well enough that my toothless son was able to enjoy because it wasn't overly seasoned. The carnitas were delicious but would have been even better with some type of greens guacamole and sour cream. Overall the ambiance was nice, and very clean. The staff was pleasant and very attentive. My only suggestion would be that the bathroom needs a changing table for anyone with a baby. read more

What a nice addition to Bayside. I really enjoyed the food here. We started off with guacamole and chips. The guacamole was great. I had the pollo al sarten. It was very good. I enjoyed the potatoes and seasoning. I had this cool dessert that was a melting white chocolate dome with ice cream. You pour hot milk on it and it melts and you are left with ice cream and melted white chocolate. The servers were great. The interior was great. The owner and his girlfriend were great hostesses. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I fell in love with this place! I've always heard good things so my husband and I decided to give it a try! Let me start by saying, hands down they are following all guidelines during this pandemic. They checked temperatures upon arrival and had you write down your contact info. The menu was also touch free; they have you scan a barcode from your phone! I felt very comfortable with how spaced out they had the tables and they had plastic shields between each table as well. Now let's get to the good stuff, I ordered the red Sangria- they did not disappoint with the flavor or the amount of wine! Next, we tried the Mexican wings. They deserve a round of applause for the wings themselves. Have y'all ever been to the restaurant called Tangra? Well it immediately reminded me of their lollipop chicken. It's also worth a trip! But let me focus back on Spanglish! I really appreciate this place. They dimmed the lights, the music was just right and it was just the perfect date night! I also had the chicken quesadilla, which was also really tasty and I maybe ate too much. We finished off with dessert; the churros and the chocolate cake! As we stood in line to get drinks, one of the managers (woman with red head) yelled at us telling us to get out of the restaurant and to form the line outside as if we knew. We had masks on and there were no signs or servers telling us what to do to get take out drinks. When I informed our waitress she explained that shecis aware that they keep changing prices and there is nothing she can do. Bad chip on her shoulder or just doesn't care. Pretty good. Sidewalk shed felt a bit cramped. Get rid of the faux plants. They're kinda tacky and get in the face of customers. Had four different types of tacos: shrimp, pork, fish and steak. The pork was a bit dry and the fish had a mayonnaise based sauce I didn't love but, nonetheless, a solid place for Mexican in Bayside. Definitely helps that it's in the stretch of Bell Boulevard that is closed off on weekends. Creates a lively atmosphere. Will try it again at some point. read more

My husband and I have gone to Spanglish about 5 times this year, and I must say we feel it gets better every time. Hands down one of the best service on Bell! We love love their guacamole with chorizo so much we ordered 2 from our most recent visit with friends a couple weeks ago. Really nice ambiance and we were pleasantly surprised by the live music with a female singer for a couple hours. Restaurant reminds me of establishments you'd find in the village.... I really love that small cozy feel with high energy.... lighting is fantastic. Their cocktails were right on point! And I'd go back there just for the flan! read more
