I had a great experience with this company last year. But it seems like now they are just unreachable. Being a realtor, I have been contacting Herman for 2 different cases for about the last 2 weeks. At first, I thought we would clean right away (so I contacted him to try to book a date), but after the tenant left, we realized that we needed to reschedule because we needed time to redo the carpet and etc. After the estimation of the the completion, I tried to schedule something early next week. Literally every text takes more than an average of 3 days for any response. I really liked this company, so I wanted to try to use them but my patience is not only wearing thin, but now I am so annoyed, I am offended. If they are as busy as they say they are, I think it is wise for them to just send me away than to just ignore me every time I am trying to schedule something. I have held off on writing this review for some time now because I understand that things happen and would not want to penalize a person/business' reputation based on one incident. HOWEVER, after months of trying to contact Hernan with no response, I have no other option. I hired Hernan somewhat last minute to clean my property before tenants were moving in. I was initially thrilled with his quick response and his prices, and relieved to have a professional cleaning staff coming in to reduce some of the stress associated with the new tenant's arrival. The cleaning crew was scheduled to arrive at 1pm on March 30th. I received two separate text messages from Hernan informing me that his crew would be late- first, pushed back to between 2 and 3pm, and then confirming that they would likely be arriving after 3pm. No problem, I said- thanks for the update. I received a voicemail later that evening, around 8:30pm, informing me that his crew had forgotten to clean my garage- one of the most crucial and time intensive portions of the clean that I had hired them to do. He said that he would be happy to come back and clean the garage sometime early next week. I told Hernan that I had tenants moving in the next day, and asked if there was any chance that they could come back and complete the job the next morning. He says "Sorry not tomorrow. But if you make arrangements with the landlord for us to come and clean next week, we will take care of it." I am the landlord. I will just have to clean it myself, I tell him. Even at this stage, everything could have been fine. The cleaners were late, and they forgot to clean the garage, but at least the house is clean. Or so I thought..... CUE THE BAD REVIEW I arrive the next morning early- around 9am- because I now have to clean the garage in addition to putting the finishing touches on the property to get it ready for the tenant to move in. FIRST THING I SEE WHEN I WALK IN THE HOUSE IS A GIANT WHITE SCRATCH IN MY BAMBOO FLOORING. I had an arrangement with my tenant to leave some furniture in the unit, so as such, there was still some furniture inside. For whatever reason, the cleaning crew decided to move all of the furniture pieces to the corner of the living room, rather than leave the items where they were and clean them and clean around them. In doing this, they dragged a white closetmaid organizer from my laundry room to the corner of the living room- about 20 feet- scratching my floor the entire way. Deep scratches, with white paint etched into the scratch, showing a clear path from where they started to where they ended. The rest of the furniture that they piled up in the corner had not been dusted or wiped down. They did not clean any of the windows. They did not clean my balcony. They had closed all of my blinds, and one of the blinds had a plastic piece broken off the bottom of it. In the kitchen, they had removed a cabinet liner from one of the cabinets, and in doing so, pulled paint off of the places where it had been taped down. Remember, I had hired a cleaning crew to ease some of the stress associated with moving and welcoming in a tenant into my home. Now, I have a 20 foot long scratch in my hardwood floors, a damaged cabinet, more cleaning to do, and various other evidence of careless cleaning and no attention to detail. So not only was I dealing with the issues of damage, I was also having to go back over and re-clean (or clean for the first time) various areas of the house. When I inform Hernan of the situation, he seems surprised that they would have moved any furniture (as was I) because their policy is to not move furniture for this very reason. He says he will ask them about this and get back to me. He also asks if these are issues that were caused by the old tenants and I was just noticing them now. I had been living in the property up until the day before, and was absolutely certain that these issues were caused by his cleaning crew. At this point, I had been trying to speak with him over the phone for the past couple of hours, rather than texting back and forth, and he was not answering. He texts me back at 12:30- 3 hours after I first reached out to him- and lets me know that he is having lunch, and that he will call right after. At this point, I have a clear picture of all of the damage and have documented it clearly for him to see. I sent him numerous photos and videos so that he could see exactly what I was talking about, so that there would be no question as to the damage, and so that we could resolve this matter in the most professional, respectful, and timely manner. Every interaction I had with Hernan following the discovery of the damage to my property and his crew's haphazard cleaning job was defensive, argumentative, and frankly, rude. I sent him an estimate for the repairs that need to be done, and he said he would also schedule his own estimate. I have not heard from him since. read more

I had a great 1st experience with Sparkling Kleen and a disappointing second. Their rate was $30 per hour, which was fair, and I loved the service the first time. I was excited that I finally found a go-to cleaning service. Unfortunately, for the second booking, Maria and her partner were 45 minutes late, and because I wanted to be home to make sure the cats were in their carrier while they cleaned my bedroom so that I could let them out afterward, and we had to be at an event, we couldn't move forward with the cleaning. Hernan, the owner, was very apologetic and rescheduled the same team for the next morning. When the team showed up, I gave them instructions and let them work. Although I expressed that cleaning the pet hair from the sofa was most important to me, the sofa looked like it had barely been touched, even after I asked the other cleaner to do it again (he used tape and not his vacuum). They forgot to vacuum the dining room chairs, and the dishes they washed were streaked and dirty after I left. I did laundry at the same time, and there were several times I came up from the laundry room and saw them standing around and talking. This was especially common close to the time they were scheduled to leave (which they did right on the dot) so they seemed to be waiting out the clock. They seemed to be in bad moods for having to be scheduled that morning. I had guests coming over that evening and had to scramble to finish cleaning and re-cleaning myself, even though I don't own a vacuum and it took longer. I texted Hernan that I was disappointed and he asked me for photos, telling me he wanted to talk to the team first, which I respected. A few days later, he offered me an hour of free cleaning on the next visit. I told him that I didn't care to schedule another cleaning with them after this experience, and asked if I could have that hour refunded instead, which he sent over quickly. Although the quality of the 2nd service and the attitudes were terrible, I did appreciate that the owner was responsive and wanted to fix it, even though he only refunded one hour of a completely useless cleaning job. I won't call them again, but hopefully this was just an off day and I appreciate that he cared to look into and rectify the situation. read more

Although the ladies that "cleaned" my apartment were nice, they should be in another line of business because they did a terrible job cleaning my apartment. I certainly won't be going to this cleaning company ever again. They charged $120 for a 1 bedroom 2 bathroom and I ended up having to re-clean after they left before my guests arrived. Take a look at the photos I've attached to this review...the granite countertops still had spill stains on them, the glass table had dried streak marks, the bathtubs were horribly cleaned (the chrome faucet & handles weren't even touched), and the floor was still extremely dirty. In fact, I got a wet paper towel and simply wiped the floor and the paper towel was black. Pictures say 1,000 words. Ladies were nice, but they will not be coming back. Very disappointed. read more

I was excited about trying sparkling kleen based off the amazing yelp reviews that were given and scheduled a time for Saturday morning. I had to leave early in the morning with my husband so I had left the house once the maids came. Upon returning, I was disappointed in the cleaning job. Our shower doors were still dirty, the floors weren't mopped because they were still sticky and you could still see the stains on the floor and there were dust around items that should've been lifted when cleaned. We also noticed one of our hardwood floors had a dent that wasn't there before. I was really disappointed in the quality of the cleanliness. The floor definitely wasn't mopped so my husband and I ended up cleaning the floors which we shouldn't have had to do after using a cleaning service. Maybe our service received was a fluke but to not have the basics cleaned, ie shower door, not lifting things to clean floor, mopping the floor...etc just seems extremely sloppy. I'm also really disappointed in their lack of care on this matter. I had left Hernan an email addressing the issues and I received one followup email saying he would look into it and nothing was heard from him since then, no messages, no "i'm sorry you were disappointed.." A simple acknowledgement in my disappointment would've have made up for the fact that we had to reclean the floors that should've been cleaned in the first place. I had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The maids told me off and took things from my home. I actually wrote a review earlier but I wanted to re-write it because the owner Hernan told me to temporary remove my post until they resolve it. It was NOT resolved at all. I didn't want to discuss with the owner, but I would like the fellow yelpers to know that the service I received was disappointing. It's been a week since they left and I notice more things that were missing from my home since their one-time cleaning of my home. First of all they took a shopping bag of mine from Victoria's Secret which had a very important receipt in there. I called them to ask where the receipt was and they told me they took the shopping bag home but was they told me they left they receipt but they put it on my kitchen island and it is not here. Why would they take anything of mine in the first place? Unprofessional. They also took my windex and left their empty trash windex in my kitchen cabinet. It's not a big deal to use my materials such as my windex, my paper towels, my clorox wipes but to take my things that I bought and have my home is not ok. When I was paying, I previously had messages from Hernan about a quote for the price that I was supposed to pay. However, when I was paying the maid, she told me a different price. I called Hernan to make sure. He told me that the original price was right. Then the maid gave me major attitude saying "I shoud've NEVER called Hernan." Very uncomfortable. Today I stepped outside of my comfort zone invited people into my home to clean it. I was a little bit leery just because it was people that I did not know but I will let you know I do not regret having them in my home one bit. Maria and Elizabeth were very efficient quick and kind and made me feel comfortable in my own home. They did not waste time. My home is a little overwhelming which is why I ask for help because I can no longer keep up without some sort of assistance due to my schedule. I saw some reviews online that said people were complaining about them not moving furniture around and I will be the first to testify that they do move furniture around as my house was so messy that it required so. However, they were 30 minutes late (for the last 10 minutes, I need to give them a break, as it's very difficult to find a parking spot) without notice (I had to call to the company and the owner texted me back, which I thought about it was weird...Why couldn't call me back?), and the maids asked me if there's a bottle of Ajax for them to use. I let them use it, but any cleaning companies suppose to bring their own cleaning equipment and supplies? First off: the cleaners did not show up on the day they were supposed to. I received a text message saying they would be an hour late. After the latest arrival time quoted to me, I texted back asking for an ETA. I received a call later saying they would be another hour. I asked if they could come back the next morning. They showed up right on time and I started to feel better. After working for two and a half hours, however, our granite flooring was streaked and smeary, cobwebs remained in all rooms that had been cleaned, soap scum remained on our glass shower door, and one carpet had not been vacuumed because the cleaners ran out of time. They did a decent job cleaning our kitchen and bathrooms but I will have to re-clean quite a few areas as many things were done quickly and haphazardly. I would not use this company again. read more

Recently used this service to clean the apartment I was moving out of. Hernan was very helpful and quoted a reasonable price. An added bonus was the fact that the staff was prompt, quick, and courteous. They cleaned a 900 sg ft apartment in 2 hours. Although, I did have to do a little follow up cleaning in the kitchen (stove and walls)...everything else was great. They did a really good job cleaning the hard water stains in the tub. When my landlord did a final walk through, he said the place looked "amazing". (But it also helped that my place wasn't filthy to begin with. Came to my studio, cleaning was fast, professional and cheap. Usually you have to sacrifice one of these when dealing with cleaning companies. I was quite impressed. I would have given 5 stars however they forgot to clean the heater vent panels. I'm not upset about it or worried for they will be back to do an after contractor clean/move in ready for tenant cleaning for us. Everything else was spotless in the kitchen, bathroom, and studio living space. I also received an amazing price for the work they did. I will use them again for more rental properties In the future. Being a single guy who works all day I don't have too much time to clean. I finally called Sparkling Kleen house cleaning service and the maids they brought were very thorough, friendly, and worked very hard. You forget how great the house feels and smells once the people who are professionals clean. I bought this house thinking my shower floor was never going get these old stains removed. The maid first tried to use this non toxic green stuff but it didn't work. They asked if I wanted to use janitorial grade material which works better against stubborn stains, and the results were excellent. I had a feather pillow that ripped and we had feathers *everywhere*. The 2nd one got rid of them all and it looked like a real pain. These guys are great! As a single guy with a dog my idea of clean had always been no dirty cloths or dishes viable and lots of febreeze but after having Sparkling Kleen come I now see how wrong i've been. My place looks amazing, I honestly didn't know it could look this good. They even made my bed like they do in hotels (I have now reverse engineered this technique and use it whenever anyone will be seeing my bedroom). I can usually get an appointment within a day or two and they're very accommodating on timing. Prices are very fair and lower than I saw most other reputable companies were charging. One thing I discovered and maybe it can be useful to you is that they have a team of two clean instead of just one cleaner like most other companies I talked to. Instead of 4 hours for one person they are done within 1.5 hours. This is really useful for me because I feel uncomfortable sitting doing nothing while someone cleans around me so I always leave while they clean. Instead of finding something to do for a half day I can just take the dog for a long walk and they're done and locked up by the time I get back. This was a super nice perk to the two person team. Plus I feel like they probably enjoy their job more with someone to talk to and joke around with and stuff.. I mean I don't know for sure... but just sayin! read more

I'm glad I purchased a promotional voucher vs. paying full price for a 2 hour service. I was left with a clean house just felt some of the details were left out. Manager sent 2 staff for one hour which was fine and they were very nice and professional. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they cleaned the microwave and even dusted my ceiling fan; but was disappointed when I saw that one of the sinks in the kitchen wasn't touched and felt that the exterior bathtub and shower doors lacked attention. I hate cleaning and I do it only because it has to be done, but I don't do a very good job. With a baby on the way and with people coming over, I needed to get the place in shape ASAP. Sparkling Kleen was recommended by a friend so I didn't even bother researching other services. I totally trust her judgment and she was spot on! I was quoted for a 2-2.5 hour job. I thought that was about right because my place is relatively small. However, it ended up taking 3.5 hours. I guess my place was super cruddy and was in serious need of a deep clean! I always thought that those spots I couldn't get off was attributed to cheap apartment finishes. Nope, it was just me! Everything was as white as it could be. No more yellow, orange and funny colors around the sinks and tub areas. I guess I'm just that bad at cleaning. I have nothing bad to say except for the fact that living in an apartment does eat up some cleaning time. After parking, going up to the unit and explaining what needs to be done, the actual cleaning didn't get started until maybe after 20 minutes on the clock. I would definitely recommend Sparkling Kleen and I am looking forward to monthly maintenance. Some people might think that cleaning service is a luxury, however it's totally worth it! Used Sparkling Kleen for move out cleaning and they were excellent! I called them the week before our move to get a quote for our 1/1 apartment in Santa Monica. I chose them because I'd seen that the local manager, Hernan, was pretty active in responding on Yelp and really seemed to care about making sure people had a 5 star experience. I liked that. So, i called Hernan. He ran through a list of standard move out cleaning items that they'd take care of (thorough scrub of oven/stove, bathtub+toilet, sinks, vaccuum and mop, clean inside of fridge, wipe windows and baseboards, etc) and also asked if we had any special requests. Because we couldn't be home for the actual cleaning (all our stuff was moved out the day before), Hernan checked in to update us with progress pics as the cleaning took place. We had discovered an issue the day before when a "non-stick" cabinet liner ended up leaving some gunky residue. When Hernan asked what we wanted to do because the cleaning team was having difficulty getting it off, I said to skip it and I'd take care of it later that night because I'd rather they not spend too much time on it. What a pleasant surprise to not only have Sparkling Kleen deliver a final quote of 2.5 (instead of 3 hours), but to also discover a clean, white cabinet when I stopped by later that night. They did a good job cleaning my apartment and really concentrated on the areas I was hoping they would: the floors and bathroom. And they washed all the dishes in the sink. The only thing is that they don't move things or furniture to clean underneath. One table went uncleaned (which is fine because wasn't that dirty to begin with). I was optimistic about this and looking forward to hiring someone to clean after moving out of our apartment. Moving is hard enough... cleaning on top of it was something we wanted to leave to the professionals. However, I want a professional and someone who would clean my place like it's their place and that's not what I got here. I hired two nice ladies for 3 hours. I was outside trying to sell some of our things at my yard sale while they worked but checked in every now and then to see how things were going. After two hours, they said they were done and I came up to them being packed and ready to leave .... I'm thinking great! Saving me some $ Upon inspection, there was still work that needed to be done. I asked them if they did the windows. They said no - so I told them to please go back and do the windows while I run down the street to grab cash to pay them. I was gone maybe 10 minutes and they were waiting outside for me... again packed up. Not sure how they could get the windows cleaned that fast and doubt they did. I went to look again and saw the kitchen floors weren't clean, though they did go over it. They missed things like the outside and sides of the fridge. They didn't do the windows, spots on walls or doors, etc. Though clean, the tub could have used more of an effort or "elbow grease". I ended up asking to borrow their cleaner to go over some places in the kitchen and I think they understood... they came back in with me and started cleaning the floor with me but at that point they were checked out and ready to go. I let them leave and then they charged me $20 more than I had agreed upon! I didn't fight it because I was exhausted and I don't speak Spanish. My boyfriend and I spent another 90 minutes cleaning the next day. This was super sub par... won't be hiring them again. Hired them again for a general house cleaning of my new place and they did an amazing job at a reasonable rate. ----- Needed a moveout clean.  They sent two nice ladies that showed up on time and got to work right away.  They were very efficient and did the work in less time that most companies quoted me it was going to take.  With the great and seamless experience that I had, I had them do a movein clean on the place I'm moving to.  Same result.   Definitely two great experiences that as soon as thing settle down, will be calling them for a regular maid service. We get weekly cleaning services for one our apartments on the Westside. Company does a great job with putting up with all my "you missed a spot" requests. Price is very fair and reasonable. Had booked a maid service from another cleaning company, who didn't bother to provide notice that no one was coming.  I had guests coming over the same day and was desperate to get someone. Called through the list in Yelp and most didn't pick up phone or couldn't do same day service until I got ahold of Sparkling Kleen who fully booked that day but went out of their way to ask other clients to see if they can make time adjustments in order for me to be squeezed in.  Thanks to those clients that were flexible and to Hernan who made it happen, a team of two awesome ladies came in, did their magic and saved the day.
