Alen came by and replaced a toilet for us today through our home warranty company. He was great from start to finish. The first day he came out he diagnosed the problem and told me he would have to order a specific part for our leaking toilet. He got on it right away, but he wasn't able to find the part, so he ended up replacing the entire toilet. Woke up one day to no hot water in my condo. American home shield assigned Spartan to the job. They came out and advised me I would need a new hot water heater and they were going to have to charge me $1000 for "permits and upgrades" very vague. I needed hot water, so said ok. They installed the new tank, And the result - lukewarm water. Well, I'll get it hot for about 60 seconds and then it goes lukewarm. Awesome if you want to take a 45 second shower but anything beyond that forget it. Can't run a hot tub. By lukewarm I mean like a cup of tea that's been sitting for half an hour. Anyways, I called them out again and they advised me they didn't know what was wrong and then I would have to take it up with American home shield. He was able to identify the problem immediately and took his time fixing the problem, which consisted of removing metal stuck in the faucet and replacing 2 old rusty faucets. He did all the nesasary repairs and The New pipes fitting , new straps which look like for the first time ,will hold the heater in place in case of an earthquake are sensational! Fast and qualtiy service! The pipe by the water heater exploded the night before and Alan was able to come immediately the next morning. He called me first and communicated with me the rest of the way. He checked out what was wrong and was able to find out the pressure cap had come off becuase the pressure had apparently been set too high. So he to go buy a new pressure cap and was able to repair the damage to good as new. Good customer service and excellent work! read more

Initially I connected with Alen through our home warranty -- our toilet was constantly running, so I gave him a call. Allen responded promptly and was very knowledgeable, professional and honest. Allen found and repaired a section of my main sewer line that had been punctured by roots. I haven't met Alan in person but I have to say that attempting to work w/ him by phone was an awful experience. Indeed the worst I have had with a plumber. He was invited to diagnose an issue with hot water and a shower in our home, and when he called me to discuss told me quite proudly that in his 20 years of experience that he was sure the problem was the water heater. So I agreed to his servicing terms, and as he drives up for our appointment tells me that his diagnosis is only 50-50, which was never stated before. Even worse, when I told him that this made me uncomfortable and was not communicated before (certainly not clearly), he tells me, "thanks for wasting my day", when he in fact wasted mine and those of my partner who arranged his services. I would never recommend working with him for anyone else - in our experience he was neither accountable, professional, nor at all customer-facing. read more
