This restaurant is inside the Doubletree Hilton hotel, and they serve breakfast and dinner. Actually pretty good. I got the salmon plate and it comes with this thick, garlic aïoli sauce, a side of broccoli, and fingerling potatoes. The fingerling potatoes are big and flavorful with the Parmesan. I love the salmon. A little crispier than usual, but I like crispy so it's not too bad. It was a little slow cause they're understaffed, but it was a very busy night so I can understand everything came out fresh hot and ready. I like that the broccoli didn't have much seasoning either. Also the clam chowders was tasty and they offer it in a cup or a bowl. The burger was juicy, the pickle spear was yummy, and the fries were well seasoned. I also love the turkey club sandwich. The bacon was nice and crispy and the bite of the sourdough bread was fluffy. I really do appreciate Brittney our server for being so nice and having a great attitude. read more

This is a challenging review. They don't have enough staff for the restaurant 2 yrs in a row when we come for our Event, however, no one seems to want to work so it's not really the workers fault that are there. They were awesome! And hustling. The same with the Bartender, very nice. With the lack of workers the menu is very limited. All I chose for dinner was a Caesar salad. Which was yummy! We went to Speaker's today for the Mother's Day Brunch. We had a reservation and the staff originally had us set up for high top tables but once they saw we had small children kindly and quickly offered to move us to a different table, even though it required them to move a flower display. The waitress quickly greeted us and brought over coffee and mimosas. The food was delicious, the waitress was attentive in refilling drinks and clearing plates, and they had a make your own flower bouquet station which was included with breakfast! This review is based on the Sunday Brunch I had very recently. Speaker's Corner is the hotel restaurant at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua, which serves American cuisine for breakfast (express buffet offered), lunch, and dinner. The Sunday Brunch Buffet ($16.95 adults/$9.95 children) is served from 9AM to 1PM, which includes juice and coffee in the price. The buffet area is in a separate room adjacent to the dining area. There's also outdoor patio seating with umbrellas. I arrived here for the Sunday Brunch around 12:20 and was seated at a comfortable booth. I was immediately offered beverages (I had both OJ and coffee). The Sunday Brunch Buffet offered a decent spread including: scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, bacon, sausage links, red skin home fries, corned beef hash (from a can), mixed vegetables (not so fresh corn, peas, carrots, lima beans), roasted chicken/potatoes, baked haddock, French toast, Belgian waffles (with strawberries & whipped cream), omelet station, carving station, peel & eat shrimp, dijon potato salad, leaf spinach salad, fresh fruit, danishes, muffins, bagels, and plenty of desserts (cakes & mini desserts). For enhancement, this buffet really could've used a saute dish and some pasta salads. Highlights: The baked haddock smelled a bit fishy, but otherwise tasted okay. The roasted chicken & roasted potatoes were pretty good. The made to order "everything" omelet with cheese, vegetables, & ham was pretty tasty (kudos to the young omelet chef). The French toast was on the dry side. The Dijon red skin potato salad with crispy bacon was very good. The leaf spinach salad was very fresh. The desserts were very rich and sweet including two chocolate cakes, mini cheesecakes, and mini tarts. The service on this visit was good. Used dishes were cleared between buffet trips. I was offered more coffee & juice when I gave a glance to my server on the other side of the dining room. I enjoyed my brunch while live piano music was playing in the dining room, a nice touch. Many of you know my deal. I travel a lot for business, and at the end of a day working a group, all I want is to be alone having a quiet meal. Normally, I'm nonplussed by the food I get on the road, and was expecting nothing special in Nashua, NH. Speaker's Corner Pub surprised me not once, but three times during my recent stay at the Crowne Plaza. I had three delicious meals with no disappointment at all including the Lobster cobb salad with large chunks of lobster meat, a French onion soup dripping with cheese and slow-cooked flavor, and a bacon-wrapped filet mignon stuffed with brie and...once again...lobster. (Not all on the same night, of course.) The kitchen even welcomed substitutions or extra veg in place of the starch. (Hey, you have to make trade offs when you're eating on the road, or risk ending up round and bloated like so many other business travelers.) The martinis shaken by Cindy and Wendy (the lovely, friendly and fun bartenders) were copious enough to garner two full martinis from each one ordered. Plus, and this is a personal thing, they let me enjoy my V2 electronic cigarette at the bar. It helped me relax, and strike up a few interesting conversations when patrons wondered why I got to 'smoke' and they didn't. I had a choice of where I ate during the week, given the fact that my car was right outside the door. However, even still, I chose to stay 'in situ' at the hotel, enjoying delicious food and good company at the bar of the Speaker's Corner Pub. MISLEADING MENU IS ONLY THE START... Came here before a wedding eager for some good food and cocktails. Our first mistake was to order the Rum Bucket. Although it did bring me closer to my brother in law the size was insulting, we're both 6' 5" 270 lbs while there were 110 lbs. women drinking this. It should be called a sand pale with ice. We decided to look past the drink and order a pizza. The waiter seemed too overzealous to tell us they didn't have dough ready for us. We then proceeded to see said waiter smugly walk by with a pizza and a smirk to another table. He speedwalked by us right into the kitchen. We drive by this place all the time and finally decided to give it a try. The bartender, Frank, is a great guy, He gets 5+ stars for being friendly and engaging. The bar is nice but dated, apparently they will be updating it in the near future. The restaurant was empty and there were ~ 6-8 people at the bar. The food is average, at best. We started out with the Korean ribs, which were thin cuts of bone-in meat that were slathered in a sweet sauce. They were tough and overdone. but at least they were thinly cut. The coleslaw accompaniment was bland. The wife had the fish tacos, she said the haddock was well cooked and not overdone. Other than that, nothing fancy. I ordered the lobster roll - it had a decent amount of meat but the bun was yuuuuge and the meat got lost in the bread. The lobster roll could have used some seasoning and was also a bit bland. The fries were lukewarm. Two beverages (2 beers, 2 mixed drinks), an appetizer, and two entrees were ~ $100 (including tip). The servers were great, but the food didn't match their professionalism and enthusiasm. Hopefully when they renovate the restaurant they will also work on updating the kitchen. read more

We arrived around 12:30pm for Sunday brunch - 30 minutes before it closes. There was nothing happening. It closed with a sign that indicated that they are closed for the evening. We checked with front desk and they said it closed early because only 16 people showed up. Early? Really? Brunch only opened at 9 am. We've been to Speaker's Corner a couple of times now. The food and service were excellent. When it comes to restaurants, the devil is in the details. Speaker's Corner does the little things that make it stand out. They bring fresh bread - we had two kinds of bread, an herb bread and I think a tomato bread, with 2 flavors of butter, while we were waiting on the entree to cook. We had our youngest son with us, who is a chow hound, and the bread kept on coming. I think he filled up on just the bread. After the bread, we had salad. Fancy iceberg lettuce wedges with assorted veggies. The dressings appeared to be freshly made. The entree was priced in the $15 to $25 dollar range, which is a bit higher than you'd pay for a similar meal at a diner or home style restaurant. It seemed reasonable to me, given the quality of the meal. I had the pork, which came with 3 large slices of pork, mushrooms, sweet potato fries, and broccolini. My wife tried the prime rib. That came with a freshly made popover, broccolini, and whipped mashed potato. Our son had the kids meal, which was a full sized cheeseburger and a fruit cup on the side. The entrees were garnished with fresh herbs, and what was probably an edible flower. If you go to Speaker's on a Thursday night, they have an all you can eat prime rib buffet. Kids are 1/2 price. In addition to the prime rib, there were several salad choices, breads, 2 types of chilli, 2 types of veggies, ham, pork, mashed and sweat potato, and a baked potato bar. Ate here one morning and drank here a couple of nights as I was staying at the hotel. Each time was a good experience. Breakfast was good with large portions and we were unrushed and were pleased with the service as they kept the water glasses and coffee cups filled. They have a Breakfast buffet which is a little less expensive than the menu items and they have an omelets station included in the buffet but we wanted specific items so we went with the menu. Friday night we went to the bar area and even though the bartender was slammed by the amount of people there he kept up, remembered what we were drinking and was courteous and fun. They have a nice bar where you can watch sports games and grab a drink after work. If you don't want to sit at the bar they have tables as well. Whatever you decide to get, you should definitely try a cup of their clam chowder. It's not too thick or too runny like at some other places. We go here for brunch often enough, most recently on Mother's Day. The rest of my family is happy with the brunch buffet, but I find it terribly disappointing and over-priced. For example, Mother's Day brunch was $29 per person, and as far as I could tell, offered nothing different from the normal brunch buffet except larger crowds of people, more over-worked waitstaff, and having to sit in the huge ballroom rather than the smaller dining room. It never feels like there are enough servers for brunch, be it a holiday or not. They work very hard, but it must be difficult to keep up with clearing the dirty plates and refilling beverages and everything else when there are only a handful of waitresses for the entire restaurant. The servers are always very pleasant--there just are not enough of them. I believe brunch is supposed to come with a mimosa--of course, of the dozen or so times we've eaten here, I've only been offered one twice. It's not that it's a good mimosa--it's made with low-quality orange juice and the kind of champagne that probably comes with a screw top), but it sure would make the food taste better. The rest of the beverages are fine--it's not hard to mess up orange juice or tea. The food is pretty all-around mediocre. Unless you have the omelette station make you scrambled eggs, which requires a wait, you get eggs from a carton on the buffet line, which, more often than not, will be lukewarm and sitting in a pool of watery runoff. The bacon, while not terrible since it is, after all, bacon, is not usually crispy and is usually cold. The homefries are not crispy when served, and never were crispy unless they are undercooked and slightly raw (which happened today). The seasoning would be delicious if they were ever warm. Rounding out the buffet are things like soggy french toast made with what seems to be Wonderbread, and the leftover dinner special from the night before (even if it isn't, it tastes like it is). There is a selection of small mystery pastries that always look dry and crumbly and completely unappealing, as well as some "fresh" fruit of questionable origins. There is an omelette and carving station, but I don't really want roast beef at 11am, and the line at the omelette station is long. The deserts are probably the best part of the meal, but they do taste store-bought. It's not that I won't go back here--the rest of my family is just fine with the food quality. I feel for the price I pay here, I can go to a diner and get a delicious meal for both the boyfriend and I. Failing that, I can buy a cheap bottle of champagne and some fresh OJ from Market Basket and make myself a mimosa, which is really all I want out of brunch anyway. read more

November 2014. Was out with my father and decided to come hear since Bertuchiis was packed On a Saturday night. My father came here before and raved how good it was so I thought it was a good choice to go. Boy was I right! Service was very personable and friendly. We started off with mussels which had amazing juices of lemon. I would recommend keeping the mussel broth for dipping the homemade rolls in. One thing about most restaurants is that they don't make their own bread. Come here and they do! For dinner I ordered the scallops dish but got risotto instead of rice. My dad got the bacon wrapped lobster stuffed beef. We were both impressed with our dishes. We were full but I really wanted to have dessert and these are homemade. Chefs recipe. If it wasn't homemade then I probably would have had dessert. We got the peanut butter pie. Out of this world delicious. With our meal I had the Riesling wine while my dad had red wine. Our night out was perfect. Wonderful food, great atmosphere, wasn't crowded at all surprisingly. The presentation of the food was also top notch. I would come back here in a heart beat. Well- my appetizers of salad and mussels, along with my prime rib and my fiancés burger all came at the exact same time; so not very enjoyable. Not sure why my salad and muscles weren't served first. My soup which came with the meal was completely forgot about. However since all my food arrived at once I opted out of the soup. The mussels and the prime rib were cold. I sent back the mussels, but didn't get to try them again as I was already working on my main course. Kayla, our waitress was super nice- the best part about our visit. Walked in and was greeted quickly however that's when the wheels fell off. Sloooooooow service. Ordered the fish and chips...the most blan fish ever. And who plates a deep fried piece of meat on paper?? In the end it didn't matter they tasted the same. I had to order dessert to get rid of the taste and then the waiter forgot it. Came to the Speaker's Corner for a glass of wine and a quick meal. Frank was Amazing!!! So attentive and friendly. He made our lunch experience amazing! Then to top it all off, we had to leave our rehearsal dinner early and came to the bar again. Kyle is a godsend and helped us so much. We ended up there this week, with our two children, for an impromptu lunch. Due to some event/improvements in the hotel (i didn't pay attention to the reason), we sat in a booth immediately adjacent to the bar. Not a problem, the kids felt "cool." Bartender (Frank) was friendly and efficient. One of the best lounge meals I've had in a while, and that says something, considering we were with our children. I would come back specifically because of his service. The food was decent. Not spectacular (although my tomato bisque was REALLY good). The kids had grilled cheese and spaghetti and meatballs, my husband tried some buffalo tenders and a pretzel, and I had a burger and the soup. For me, the burger was forgettable. Not offensive, just nothing I'd recommend you go out of your way for. So come on back. In a sea of mediocrity, this is about what you'd expect. Waited 45 minutes for soup and a pretzel. Pretzel was good, but our unsupervised proximity to the dirty service and prep area of the cluttered, tired back bar -- not at all prepared for the Saturday onslaught -- had us more inclined to tossing salt crystals down the open jars of straws the two harried barmaids grabbed at to fill drink orders. Basically, I just go to Speaker's Corner for the Sunday buffet, and the Thanksgiving Day spread. I'd probably give them a higher rating but it is a little pricey although they do have great chefs, great cuisine, and fantastic desserts. Not to mention, it's part of a 5-star hotel. If you're trying to impress a friend, relative or date, I highly recommend hitting the Speaker's Corner for either a Sunday buffet or Thanksgiving dinner. read more

My wife and I live in Nashua and dropped in for a bite at dinner time. Our server, a young lady, was a real pro. The food was decent. Most importantly, it was the little things. The rolls were warm. She brought them over asap and we didn't need to ask. PLENTY of butter. When dinner was served there was a lot of condiments...2 ketchups for 1 order of fries, 2 servings of dressing for 1 salad, huge ramekins of sour cream and salsa for the nachos. Very nice hotel restaurant. The staff was punctual and friendly and not to hard on the eyes. The manager did manage to pay me a visit and chat for a moment. Overall very clean. The breakfast buffet was sub par (as any other) but al la cart was remarkably good however not spectacular for the price. Dinner meal (two days after breakfast) was the seafood sampler, prepared Cajun seasoned/style, and was quite good. The fish was cooked excellent-moist and flakey and tender through out. The scallops were on the verge of undercooked but I prefer this ten times over, than rubbery overcooked scallops, yet seasoned perfectly. The shrimp were not properly cleaned/de-veined but I believe the chef wanted to serve the shrimp deheaded only. Peeled to tail leaving the end for presentation and butterflied would be an excellent alternative but would require a little more attention regarding preparation and not overcooking. I do have to say, the waitress's recommendation on the French onion soup was magnificent! It was one of the best french onion soups I have had to date and the presentation was beautiful also. I can't wait to visit the restaurant again just to order the soup. The soup is actually worth the visit if nothing else. 4/5 stars. read more

This place is crap! Ordered room service and was quoted 25 min. I called and asked were it was and apparently it was sitting there getting cold. They brought it to me after I called again asking where it was. I called them backed and said they can come and take it because it was cold and nasty. They said they would be right up. They then called me back and said that I could keep it. I don't want cold nasty food. I had to take it back down there and bring it to hem. What good is room service if I have to leave the room. Well not the place is closed. I give them 2 stars because they made it again for me. But this time it took only 10 minutes. Where was that from the beginning??? If they could do that now, then obviously I was not important until I complained. This is and add-on, I think they just re-heated my meal. I will never come back... Changing to 1 star. read more

We really, really, really wanted to like this place. The buffet was decent. Avoid the syrup! Unfortunately the service was a little haphazard having two waitresses attempting to serve us and neither brought us water for the table. We asked several times. They finally brought one glass of water which was odd because we have four people. Then came the problem that every restaurant hates to have happen. We were brought syrup for our kids pancakes. It took us a little bit to notice what happened. Our kids poured the syrup and began eating. We happened to look over to see the the syrup was infested with ants and the kids had poured the syrup all over their pancakes. The staff was amazingly apologetic. The manager asked if there was anything he could do. Unfortunately we were so grossed out by what happened that we just asked that he credit us the meal. Unfortunately, the bad reviews are fairly accurate. We decided to take a chance on the restaurant because we had a large group and they could take a reservation on short notice. The restaurant itself was in a good location and attractive. It was clean and the servers were pleasant. However, there was hardly anyone there, yet service was slow, my food was ice cold, one meal didn't come out at all, and there was nothing like bread or crackers to tide everyone over while we waited. The food itself was OK - - rather underwhelming and at typical hotel prices. It's a good place to go if you are there primarily to hang out and talk but our group was actually very hungry so it did not work out well. I hope they are able to work out their problems because there is a lot of potential there. read more
