We had two different pour-over coffees, and both were excellent in their own unique way. Not being Starbucks is always a good thing but there's a point where the anti-Starbucks business model goes way too far. Spearhead is a confluence of locals and tourists. You'll get plenty of "no", "we don't do that" here which will rub the tourists the wrong way. Their drink menu is pretty limited and their idea of flavoring is vanilla honey or almond honey. A little hypicritacle that they look down on anything artificial yet they offer the really bad artificial sweeteners on their coffee bar. One of the baristas was "out-of-tune" and was really snarky and didn't like their job, but the cashier was nice. My drink was a latte with coconut milk. Though served lukewarm it was very good. That was the lone highlight of this experience. In summation, this was a coffee shop with limited options. It's probably better quality than most but somehow they'll rub you the wrong way. - They sell more logoed merchandise than they have drink options. - If you buy some ground coffee they give you a small coffee drink. - Parking lot behind the coffee shop is confusing to tourists. They all say Business Pass required. While I found parking elsewhere it wasn't until I looked online on what "business pass" meant and how to legally park there. Very cute coffee shop with a great vibe. Hubby and I both enjoyed our lattes while we people watched. It is right in the middle of town, so it was very easy to walk to from our hotel. Service was also excellent. If you are looking to get a latte, cappucino or espresso, this is the place! read more

Their oat milk chai latte is second to none. Their homemade Maple pop tart is incredible; a nice treat but not overly sweat. Staff is very friendly and plenty of seats to set up and spend some good, productive time here. I'm not from the area, but will be sure to stop by again when I'm passing through. read more

Solid coffee shop. They had a seasonal menu with some enticing options. I went for the Rhizome Latte (honey, turmeric, ginger, and white pepper). It was delicious and hit the spot. Food/drink: I got the hazelnut latte with oat milk and it was delicious. It wasn't sweet enough for me so I had to add an extra pack of sugar but I know sweetness is just a matter of preference so I'm not going to hold that against them. The blueberry lemon scone was ssoooo good. There's crystallized sugar pieces on top of the scone and that added a whole new dimension to the texture and flavor. It also was just the right amount of sweetness (not too sweet where you feel like you'll get a heart attack). The texture inside was moist and soft and outside was crisp and crunchy... just perfection overall. The apple spice bread was okay. It was a little bit too sweet for me and it was oats on top but nothing super special to me. If you like apple and cinnamon flavor, definitely order this but otherwise the blueberry lemon scone is the way to go Location: it's located in a good area surrounded by a ton of other businesses. I saw a few folks walking around the block so overall it feels pretty safe. There's also a park nearby so you can grab your coffee and go for a walk afterwards Parking: we came on Tuesday around 8:30am ish and we found parking easily. It's busy inside th sop but outside is peaceful Customer Service: staff was super friendly and welcoming. I even asked them to refill my 2 water bottles with water and they did it for me without issues so I really appreciated that. She even washed her hands beforehand so def 10/10 customer service Misc: the aesthetics is super cute inside. There's Christmas decorations and the vibe is chill and cozy. There's chatters but not too loud unlike some coffee shops where it feels like everyone is yelling. Overall experience: 10/10 would recommend. My hubby and I popped in for a quick coffee while on a day road trip. When we walked in, there were no customers in line to order nor waiting for their drinks and there were two employees behind the counter. We said hello and were told someone would be right with us. One lady was wiping down counters and doing cleaning behind the bar while the other lady was apparently making herself a drink. We waited...and waited.....and waited, until I finally asked them "Aren't you going to take our order?" I was told that they were now off duty (2:02) and the next shift wasn't in yet. Seriously??? One of them never even made eye contact with us and the other saw steam coming out of my ears and finally made my husband a cup of coffee-acting like it was a big sacrifice on her part. Husband said his coffee tasted good but I was so pissed by then that I didn't even want to taste it. I don't know if it's because of their young ages or what but I will never return to a business who treats me like that. read more

2 stars for effort! The workers are working hard to create a good environment - friendly except when we asked for heavy cream, the barista told the cashier "not too much". The coffee was not to my liking - very acidic and bitter. The photography on the walls was inappropriate (scantily clad women in seductive poses) and didn't fit the cool Indian "spearhead" theme. The macchiato was done perfectly! Many times I go to a coffee shop and they have Starbucks versions of drinks and not true espresso drinks. This place has the latte art as well as great coffee. We had the house drip coffee at a local restaurant called Brunch and decided to try other styles here. The nitro cold brew was ok. It was very light in flavor and not robust as most other places. I got the pumpkin cream cold brew. It was so sweet and had too much cream that I couldn't even taste the coffee. I'm a big cold brew gal, and this just didn't really hit the spot. It felt like coffee for people who don't like coffee because it tastes like straight up cream. I've really tried to like this place. Been here a few times when I'm visiting. When you look at all the reviews and most are all high stars, I just can't get behind this place. I live in San Diego and they have some of the best coffee shops. This place has mediocre coffee and terrible service. How a place can move so slow is beyond belief! Every time I come here it takes 20-30 min to even get to the counter. I've come when there were 3 people in line and it still takes forever. If you can't move the line along in the morning when people need to be places that's a huge problem. To top it off the coffee isn't even that great! Go somewhere else. read more

The coffee was so good and really cool to see it looked like a brewery inside. I got the SOLEIL with Oat Milk and my friend got the MIEL with Almond Milk. I personally liked mine better because there was so much flavor going on: lavender, cardamom, and honey. Yum! We both got our drinks iced. There were 4 tables outside but only 2 of them were in the shade. They had some seating inside but not much. Also, when we went there was a long line but it moved fast! So don't get scared. Tip: Buy some Brown Butter Cookies nearby and have them with your coffee. Perfect pairing! COVID REVIEW: First time customer during the quarantine! Came here shortly before closing on a weekday and they were pretty much out of all the specialty lattes (which is really all I came for). The lattes sounded fun and inventive, with the menu illustrated stylishly on a chalkboard. Was kinda disappointed, but I suppose that's to expect before closing. Staff attempted to make friendly substitution suggestions. We wanted to come in after we read the great reviews here and really glad we did. This place has bright open space with seating around for a number of patrons, (to me, if a place is full then it is good). When we got our orders, mine was called a Solstice I believe that had honey and cardamom in the latte I was right in my feeling this was going to be a good place to stop from now on each time in Paso. The service was friendly and quick and the coffee was great....so buy LOCAL and not global (rhymes with star-smucks). I saw a few lower scores here, but in my opinion they are worth the full five. While waiting for wine tasting at Symbiosis Wines, we ventured across the street for a quick coffee. As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted with a diverse variety of aromas! I got the Aztec Mocha. I NEVER get flavored coffee and this was SO DELICIOUS! My friend got the vanilla latte and she said that it tasted so pure without any extra chemicals or sugars. Our favorite stop in Paso (yes, even over the wine!). Delicious coffee and tea. Highly recommend a Miel latte for here so that you can sip it slowly out of a giant mug and take in the soothing surroundings. Their coffees aren't overly sweet, just a hint of sweetness, so it's an opportunity to try flavors I wouldn't at other coffee houses or chain coffee places. Highly, highly recommend all of their quiche (we tried five of them while we were there and they were all delicious. Perfectly cooked egg with a flakey, perfect crust). Their scones are a biscuit style and they're delicious, highly recommend the flakey, crisp on the outside savory scone (usually up by the checkout). First off I want to start off by saying my dad told me not to come here because they weren't friendly and the coffee was average. I ignored his comment and went anyways because everyone has a bad day or maybe it was my dad. NOPE. Worst experience I've over had at a coffee shop and I hope nobody wastes their time or money here. When I first walked in nobody greeted me and said hello. Then when it was my turn at the register I told the lady it was my first time and if she recommended anything. She looked so annoyed and irritated by me asking questions. She said the "menu is behind me. " didn't walk me through the menu or offer any suggestions. I went on to ask what house syrups they had and which one was her favorite. She told me the syrups and said do you know what you want yet. I asked her if I could do an iced latte with half vanilla pumps and half hazelnut pumps and she said we can't do that you can only choose one flavor so which one do you want. She was extremely rude,impatient, hostile, and just looked upset the entire time helping me. After I explained it was my first time their and in the area and was camping. I asked if she had any recommendations for dinner or wineries nearby and she said you can look places up. What???? There was no kindness or courtesy at all. She ruined my experience and I should've listened to my dad. Once my drink was called I watched to see if they called my name out and nope. They just let my drink sit there and I finally went up to grab it and they didn't say thank you or have a nice day. Worst experience I've ever had at a coffee shop. Ruined my day and left a terrible taste in my mouth for the day. I felt compelled to write a review to say somebody's time/energy/money. She needs to be retrained on how to treat customers or get out of customer service. Basic rules is to be nice and not roll your eyes. I would prefer a robot to help me. Really nice vibe however only one barista made it a longer than expected wait for one cup of coffee. I love dark roast coffee however and it seems that most hipster coffee houses all do only medium roasts and they all have citrus notes. If you like your coffee citusy, then I guess its great but I need me a smoky earthy Sumatra. Why is the only place to get a dark roast Peats or Starbucks? I really want to support local coffee houses as the vibes are cool, music great but the coffee is always weak and citrusy. btw-I got a double shot of espresso in my coffee aka a Red Eye but it still was not a good cup.
