I wanted to get my car tinted to protect my babies from the sun and found this place on Yelp. I contacted Jae, the owner, via email and he promptly responded to all my questions. I made my appointment via email and that Saturday, I took my car in to get tinted. At my appointment, Jae walked me through the different types of tints and their pros and cons. I decided to go with the LLumar ATC which was the middle choice between 3M and Sungard. After about 3 hours, Jae gave me a call and my car was done. When I picked up my car, Jae walked me through how I should take car of the tint and how it will dry over the next few weeks which I found very helpful. Overall the tinting experience was great. I felt confident I went in there to drop the car off I chose the middle Grade quality he gave me all the disclosures about legalization of window tinting and the front windows and then began to doubt and question me of my comfortableness of doing the tint. I agreed to the price and to move forward and when he went to my car I asked him how long hes been in business he sarcastically said 2 hours ago and then He told me on my model of car which is a BMW 7 series He said my back windows would be Less than perfect didn't explain why but then woods continuing to talk about how nobody's perfect.. I continue to listen and I let that go thinking hes just a crazy guy.. Then he added another touch of fear and said my model of car will have elecktronicks current causing lights to go out and radio waves to change the dynamic of my car and it's the most challenging car to do window tinting... This place deserves 5 stars! Compared to other places they offer the highest quality tint for a reasonable price. Don't be fooled by other places that tell you they offer the best tint around. They are all going to say that. Do your own research and you will find 3M is the top of the line auto tint. These guys also use a computer to cut out the tint for the most precise fit on your windows. Other places just use their hand or claim they have computers (used to do other cutting jobs) but I personaly watched the machine cut out my tint. My trip to Specialized Auto Tint was great. I called in the day of and they had an opening (but I would reccomend making an appointment) and it took about 3 hours to do all around tint. The guy explained all his products and was very helpful. They offer lifetime warranty for the 3M tint and also have a protectant you can put on your body paint. I would definitely go back to this place if i needed to have my car tinted. Here is the first critical review of Specialized Auto Tint. I wish I had the 5 star review that everyone else had. My experience was so so. I had an issue and I was only partly satisfied with my experience. I understand that things happen, but how a person handles this is the true test of customer service. The good. I agree Jae is friendly and pays very close attention to detail. I really liked how he convinced me to purchase the top quality 3M tint. It was a little bit pushy to get the high end tints and I know he's in a hurry. The more questions I asked the more he reminded me that there are more customers. I chose the Crystalline tint with 70% clear front and 30% medium all the way around. I freaking love this tint!! It is amazing. At night time, I can see perfectly and the tint looks natural. I would have given 5 stars, but I noticed some defects and glue.Service was fast only about 1.5 hours to complete. He called me as soon as my car was done. The Bad: 1. I followed the rules and did not roll down the windows for about a week. I noticed some sticky glue like substance on the driver front door. I didn't think much of it because I figure that this was part of the drying process. 2. Every time I got a car wash this glue went away, but it would always come back a week later so I was convinced this was a defect in the tint. 3. After multiple visits Jae cleaned my window with his solution, but by the 4th visit I was feed up, because we need a solution. 4. I called him before the 4th of July weekend and he made an appointment for the following Saturday. He said what every the customer wants he will do it to resolve an issue. He will replace the window tint. 5. Later, when I got there he told me that I had to wait 3 customers before this could be fixed. WHAT THE F!! We have an issue! F everyone else. Plus, I made an appointment. He said that we serve customers in order first come first serve. I argued with him for about 30 minutes and we tested the window. He concluded that there may be glue under the window and that it may be window defect, but he will still change the tint. I call BS. He kept telling me that there's no defect and the installation is fine. In the end, his logic did make sense, but I don't like that I had to come 4 times to figure this out. My conclusion. Yeah he's nice... sorta but he should really take care of his customers issues and concerns. And by customers I mean PAYING customers. I don't give a F about people that keep walking in. I don't like Jae telling me that he has other customers. Resolve my issue first. I don't deny the quality of his work and I am satisfied with my product but the customer service to solve issues could be better. It could be a language barrier so I didn't push too much. I like the guy, but my experience was sub par. I rather save my time and not have to get pissed off to get results. This issue could have been dealt with sooner. I felt that new customers took priority over existing customers always. Not cool bro. I am 50/50 whether I can recommend this place. If you have no issues, yes this place is awesome but if you do have issues. Hold on for a fun ride and waste your weekends coming back because this shop does not open outside of standard business hours. read more

This is a small local tint shop right by the Irvine Spectrum. I called last Friday and got some general pricing for removing tint on my lifted Ford F250 Super Duty truck and took it in today to get it done. Overview: GOOD 1: They give general quotes over the phone so you get an idea of what you're in for price wise before you go. I called a few days in advance as I shopped a bit over the phone. They were right in the middle of High and Low quotes I got from other places and had a solid reputation on Yelp so I selected them. In my case it was $100 for tint removal on 7 windows (crew cab + split rear window) and when I showed up they confirmed and kept the quote I was given. GOOD 2: Jay, (the owner maybe?) was very helpful on the phone and also in person. When I initially called I asked about removing horrible limo tint work done before I owned the truck. I told Jay that I really only wanted a very light tint for UV protection. He suggested removing it first and then looking at it again before deciding on new tint because the rear of the truck might already have factory tint on it. Sure enough it did and it was plenty dark enough for me. GOOD 3: They were prompt and accurate on their time estimate. When I dropped off my truck they told me it would take about 90 minutes to remove tint on all 7 windows (crew cab + split rear window) and sure enough I got a call 90 minutes later telling me it was done. Personally I'm ok with most time estimates as long as they finish close to the quoted time. This allows me to do other things in between. GOOD 4: The shop is neat and organized. It's not big on frills, but the install bay was setup nicely and I felt comfortable leaving my truck with them. BAD 1: I usually point out things that can be improved, and most places can use improvement in one area or another... but in my experience with Specialized Auto Tint everything went smooth and I really can't complain about anything. Overall..... They did a great job removing the horrible double stacked limo tint from my truck and as soon as my schedule permits I'm going back to have them re-tint my front doors strictly for UV protection. If you're looking for a solid tint shop with reasonable prices I would give them a try. I'll happily tell my friends about this place. read more

Very recommended Auto Tint place. The guy work on tinting himself with an assistant. He only works on A car at a time. The whole tinting process takes 2-3 hours. (I recommend you come drop off a car with a friend, so both of you can go somewhere like Spectrum while work is being done instead of seating and wasting couple hours) Price starts at $150. But I recommend you get at least $200 one, which is the lowest price for 3M brand with lifetime warranty. I got mine with $200 one and I'm very satisfied. My first trip to Jae was to get tint removed... Simple right!? His approach towards quality, craftsmanship, and doing the job right is impeccable. So, I brought back my new Optima SX to get tinted with 3M's crystalline film. This has to be one of the best installs I have ever seen having been to numerous tint shops from House of Tints, to A Terrific Tint in MV, to Specialized. I am extremely happy I don't have that typical 1/8" gap at the top of the window where the tint stops. It looks seamless and fit perfectly. Great and honest facility!! I took my friend's 350z to un-tint his previous, poorly tinted windows. The owner was great and gave us precise directions of what will be done and how. When I called to set up an appointment I told them my next day off was over a week away and they said if I worked in Irvine near the shop they could drive me to work when I drop off my car so I wont have to be with out my car on my day off. That was perfect for me so I got an appointment the next day!! When I got there he went over the prices and warranties and shades of tint. I wasn't sure before if I wanted medium or dark tint and they had the tint displayed on some large windows inside their shop so I could clearly see what each would look like. They have 3 types, a 5 year warranty and 2 types of lifetime warranty. Obviously, each is a different price. And that is nice so it appeals to all types of people.. I guess some may think if they are not going to own their car for more then 5 years then why pay for the lifetime? I usually own my cars for a long time so I got the mid level price lifetime warranty. And it has been a few weeks now and they look great!! read more

I found this place on yelp when I decided I needed my car tinted. I contacted Jae via e-mail and was able to set up my appointment for that Saturday. When I got there, he explained the different types of tints available and I decided to go with 3M (lifetime warranty). He was very efficient and knowledgeable. We did a walk through of my car together and then I gave him my keys and was told it would take about 3hrs. He has a lot of experience with IS250 as the side panels need to be removed in order to tint the windows (side speakers). I went home to take a nap but about 2 hours later, he called saying he needed my other keys to open the truck (since it was locked from the glove compartment). I asked my friend drive me back to the tint shop to give him my keys, which really wasn't that big of a deal b/c ended up shopping at the Spectrum :] After about an hour, Jae called saying the car was done. When I got there, I carefully looked at all the edges, etc., which were perfect. He then showed me the 3M markings on the window tints, proving that in fact, they were 3M branded and then proceeded to erase them with alcohol. He said some companies switch to a lower quality tint (because you would never know, so he wants to show the consumer that they are really 3M). I haven't met a person who provided such great quality customer service and attention to detail. I will definitely recommend him to my family & friends! read more

Another gorgeous tint job by Specialized! As I mentioned a few months ago, I was taking my new car in for tinting. This time, I dropped my car off on the way to work & they gave me a ride to my office. Super convenient touch! Got the "Better" tint film (as in Good/Better/Best, which is essentially how they explain it) which is what Jae had upgraded me to for free last time. (I paid for it this time, though.) I'll definitely recommend Specialized to anyone. Just be aware that Saturdays fill up quickly. And if you come right when they open, Jae (owner) may not be there yet. His assistant opens up, and Jae comes in about 30mins later. So definitely make an appointment if you need to drop-off early. read more

I originally called this shop back in June to get a quote after reading the Yelp reviews. But then made my final decision based on my phone call with Jae, the owner. He was very friendly, and offered me a ride home as I wouldn't be able to wait and didn't have a ride home. His quote was not the lowest, but he sold me on his customer service. He tinted all windows but the front windshield in a couple of hours using 3M film. He did the usual care spiel afterwards, including showing the 3M marking before the final removal. For a one-man shop, he has pretty good business going. After 6 months, I'm still very happy with having selected this shop as well as the tinting shade and material. What made me feel like I did the right thing going with Jae instead of the other Irvine window tinters I contacted for quotes, is he said although my car is technically labeled an SUV it's too small to truly be considered one so he gave me the "car" pricing. Hmmm so that's why all the other guys were $50-$75 more expensive than Jae on my particular car/SUV. This showed his integrity & honesty & that he wasn't into trying to squeeze me for every penny! I also love the touch of placing those bright green stickers on the automatic window buttons! I mean I've had tint done to dozens of cars throughout my life & I don't know how many times I've been in a car with a friend & of course they don't know I just got them done & they proceed to roll the windows down, then I just freak out on them! Jae's also very thorough about what to do in the next few days & what not to do. There's really nothing that's changed in the 20 years I've been getting my cars tinted but just taking the few extra moments to let me know the procedure was nice as well. Just got a new Prius Plug-in and searched Yelp for window tinting. I've used another shop for previous cars, but decided to shop around when the previous shop wouldn't budge on price, even though I'd taken 2 cars there previously. The Prius has 2 small side windows both in the front and rear, along with a 5-6 inch section on the hatchback. You better know what your doing on this car....Jae is an honest, hard working, customer focused small business owner that understands that building your business is based on referrals.
