After reading all the other reviews here I'm really disappointed in our experience..communication is NOT their forte..basically came as we'd requested estimates for fencing and tree work, gave us a good quote for tree and last comment was he'd get back to us with a quote after he checked lumber prices.."no longer than an hour".. 2 days later after hearing nothing, I texted him again and got a very snarky response about my not being understanding that he has a child, and a new puppy?!..and then blocked all communication after saying he's happy to not take our job..so..oh well?..guess what..we're happy too! read more

Amazing business with really great people! There was a cat stuck in a tree for days in Sacramento. It had climbed about 50ft up and was trapped at a branch where it couldn't get down. I called fire departments, animal shelters, and other tree services but none of them even tried to help. I was so lucky I got the number for Speck and Sons. Will was willing to drive over an hour to help save the cat for a fair price. The cat fell out of the tree and was rushed to the vet while Will was on his way, but honestly he was the ONLY person who was willing to help. This is an incredible business with wonderful employees. These guys were great. A neighbors tree fell into mine and needed to be removed without doing additional damage to mine. Ken was quick to give an estimate and showed up when promised. The company was recommended and I would like to say that their prices compared favorably but none of the other Placer area tree companies returned my calls. I've had tree work done before though and the price seemed very reasonable. Ken did the dangerous climb and cutting and had a crew of 4 others on the ground. They were very careful in my yard, marking sprinkler heads and using safety ropes so the logs didn't embed in my lawn. Ken trimmed the damaged limbs on my tree and showed concern for its health. The crew cleaned and cut all the debris leaving me with a spotless yard. I would definitely use them again. read more

We found Ken's name on a list of people who do cat rescue and were so thankful that he was't too far away from us. We had already tried the fire department and they came out but didn't want to try to get her down. She had been up there one night already. I found the cat rescue website that night and called Ken the next morning. Our poor kitty had been up there for about 36 hours and Ken and Monica came to the rescue! She was at the very top of the tree and we were worried about Ken trying to climb up as high as he did to get her- we were praying for his safety! He did it though, and was able to cut the branch she was on so it would fall on the roof where Monica was waiting. Our cat came down and took off like a shot! We brought her in the house so Ken could say hello to her before he left. What caring and brave people to come help us and our cat like that!! If we ever need any tree trimming, firewood, or anything of the sort, we will be calling Ken! A great pleasure to meet him and Monica! May God bless them!! read more

Ken and his guys are the best! Ken responded quickly to my request for a quote, came out to look things over and gave me a very competitive price. I really appreciate that Ken worked to accommodate my travel schedule by squeezing in my tree removal during a very busy time for Speck and Sons (they're in the middle of a big job.) He and his crew quickly removed a large tree with no damage to surrounding plants that other tree companies told me would be crushed if not moved. The crew were easy to communicate with and continued to work with focus and diligence even after Ken had completed the climbing work and moved on to his other job site.
