He was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant and patient with us. I can't say enough good things about him as well as this Spectrum store. Spectrum causes so many problems by sending their presumably legit salesforce out to your house over and over again at all hours day and evening to bother you about signing up for services. These people make a nuisance of themselves and won't take no for an answer. This happens even after you fill out the Spectrum do not knock,call form. The fact they even have one tells me lots of neighborhoods have this problem. Wth is wrong with this company? Further, there is covid epidemic and Coronado, So CAL is supposedly on lockdown yet Spectrum still camps out trying to get you to open your door. The service was okay, and the technicians were good, BUT THEY DON'T PRORATE BILLING, even if you are on a subscription/month-to-month. So be sure to check when would be the best date to cancel your service so that you don't get charged for a full month when you only had it for a few days that month. Obviously this is another bad example of what happens when there's a monopoly that's sanctioned by the government. I'm in another state now where I'm using only NETFLIX and HULU PLUS. I love them so far since there's no cable, no dish, no monopoly, and they're significantly cheaper than the same services on cable or satellite. read more

I know that we here on the island are stuck between Time-Warner, Cox, and AT&T U-verse, with no Verizon FiOS in sight. That being said, I am giving TWC of Coronado 3 stars based on its service staff and technicians. I have 20/2 UHS service at my place, and things have been pretty shaky lately, what with service outages and the like. When I call TWC for help, I *usually* get someone: polite, knowledgeable, and patient. Service calls are scheduled for the next day, and if they're running late, they call. My technician today, Paul, removed two old cable splitters that I didn't need (one outside on the second floor, one inside on the first), and replaced the cable link from the pole to my house as well. My modem was replaced two weeks ago with a new one. You can certainly argue that access to the internet should be better here in So Cal, and I would agree with you. As I noted, I'm giving TWC 3 stars because they are polite, their staff is knowledgeable, and problems are resolved within 24 hours. read more

I've lived overseas several years and never had to worry about all the procedures that went into getting a Wi-Fi and phone service set up. I made my appointment at the Coronado Office through their on-line website and the process was simple and quick. I ended up talking to Josh, the service representative, and could not have been more pleased. Josh took the time to explain everything to me, as well as other services they offered, and worked to help me get the best possible deal. When I was confused about the hook-up process, Josh went over the directions of installation in a reassuring, step-by-step manner, showing me the various cords and where they all went, making it clear and easy to understand. To be fair, the internet service & phone is fine. But today I tried to cancel just my TV cable service. Took three tries and almost two hours! Returned the cable box to the Coronado store, and they did take the box and give me a receipt, but said I had to call the Spectrum # to change the service. The very nice service agents were clearly sabotaged by Spectrum's computer system - presumably deliberately designed to "discourage" customers from cancelling selected services. Called the Spectrum # and after about 20" on hold, connected to another very nice agent, who tried and tried but could not cancel my TV service! How convenient for Spectrum! And, they do NOT pro-rate! The agent said I would be connected to a "different" department very quickly -- more than thirty minutes additionally on hold, finally reached an agent who was able to cancel the TV service. Two hours to cancel a portion of the service - even when you go in person ... really shameful how Spectrum, ATT, & the California legislature conspired to limit our choices. read more

The service is adequate when it works but it usually fails multiple times a day, sometimes for a few minutes but sometimes for hours. If you need something reliable this is not the service for you. The people you complain to are generally pleasant but nothing changes and you will never get an apology or a refund. Someday someone will put something in that resembles modern 1st world infrastructure but this is based on copper wires stuck on a 50 year old wooden pole and it sucks. My landlord ordered AppleTV with Spectrum. AWEFUL! Cable is entirely unpredictable. Constant frustration! The closed caption floats into language you do not want more than what you want. Another harassing call at 8am from Spectrum. Its is no wonder to see so many negative reviews., not just from very poor customer service, or lack thereof, in the office or over the phone, but the service itself is terrible, I've had Cox and ATT, and then Spectrum. Neither of the others had problems, only Spectrum. The internet kept going out, and who has time to be on the phone for 30min to 1hour each week with customer service, followed by waiting for a technician again and again? This was my experience. I finally just gave up and lived with only part of what i was paying for with no internet. I eventually canceled service and of course no refund on services I never received, or no billing adjustment. Spectrum employees are strapped to do anything that would please a customer? Including no refunds retroactively for lack of service if you did not call in immediately. Since canceling my service, i still need to turn in my equipment. But now they put me in collections and call at 8am almost every. %#+#%!#! morning! This started during the pandemic while most peoples financial lives are at risk or have crumbled already. I am now being harassed for not returning my equipment yet, even though the office hours have been limited to do so, and for the small bill remaining for service that was on and off. They wont refund me or excuse their terrible on and off internet service. And what tops off Spectrum PROVING they are NOT a CUSTOMER based service company, is to get an unsolicited knock at my door DURING QUARANTINE by Spectrum trying to sell services to me. Unbelievable. Heartless company with unreliable service and no customer care whatsoever. If they fix those 2 issues, that clearly 12 out of 15 reviews have on Yelp alone, they would not be fearful that ATT is finally an offering on Coronado Island. When you have great service offerings, PLUS great customer care, then no one would want to give that up. My guess is Spectrum will not survive much longer here. Another thing to point out, not one time did Spectrum reply to any customer reviews with issues, showing no care whatsoever. A big red flag. Today at the Coronado location, 1110 Orange Ave, my mother's care provider was treated very rudely by a young man named Cameron, who was working the counter. I don't know his job title, but if it includes either of the words "Customer" or "Service," get this boy a dictionary! He yelled at our helper, told her to get her stuff off the counter, get out of the way, there were other customers to take care of! Our helper went in to return the equipment we no longer need because we have cancelled our service. She had a monthly bill with all the necessary account information. Cameron stated he could only receive return equipment from the customer herself. This particular customer is elderly and unable to take care of her own errands which is why she has a helper. Cameron did not offer any other options, only that the customer had to return the equipment herself. I called a service phone number for Spectrum and added our caregiver to the account as an authorized user. Our helper went back and was finally able to make the return, but Cameron was angry and threatening and continued to have a nasty attitude. She would not have felt safe there without the presence of other people. We are certainly glad we won't be doing business there any longer. FYI - we switched to AT&T and are saving $80/month for the same bundle of services! read more

My fellow yelpers had bad experiences with Time Warner and they are right to express themselves. If I encountered the same problems, I too would vent. I have to be truthful with my experiences. Every time something goes wrong with our remote, they are prompt to replace it. My modem was inoperable and they switched with a new one without hesitation. I had issues with the internet and their automated trouble shooting guide help me restore it. So far nothing but favorable experiences. Often positive or neutral experiences are not posted on Yelp because that is what is expected. When people are upset or frustrated, they vent on Yelp and that is okay too. read more

As I scan the variety of reviews for this OFFICE, I feel it may be getting collateral blow-back from many folks' bad experiences with the OVERALL TWC CORPORATION ?? Like maybe the telephone assist system, telephone reps, billing structures & policies, etc-etc. My 5-***** rating is for our Coronado OFFICE and my experiences walking into it and dealing face-to-face, in vivo with the helpful, courteous, professional & competent folks there. This review also covers the local techs they send to my 84 year old moms' small apartment to take care of her when the modern technology overwhelms. Within the last six months, Anthony has come twice, spending between 45 minutes to over 2 hours in helping her to install digital adaptors, change them, etc.-etc. Just yesterday, he came after her big, complicated cable box started freezing up when changing channels, the morning after she called for help. He switched this out to a simple digital adapter and then even went to his truck for the newest remote control with fewer and BIGGER (lighted) buttons. She couldn't be happier as she recovers from a hip dislocation -- and to make it even better there is no service charge for this help; and in fact they don't charge for their tech calls in general (unless new plugs / cables need installation in a residence). SO, no TWC hating here :) read more

This rating is mostly for Spectrum itself, and only in part for the Coronado office. My visits to this office for other occasions and for other purposes have been a good experience. But my visit last October deserves this one star rating. Primarily because the Spectrum TV Choice program is a SCAM. I researched the options regarding minimal streaming TV services and the Spectrum TV Choice program of 10 cable channels plus local stations for $24.99 (the two year introductory offer) seemed best. When I signed up for it in October I specifically asked the customer service person "is there any other cost beyond the $24.99?" The reply was "no, that's it." So it was a surprise when I looked at my first bill and saw under "Other Charges" the line "Broadcast TV Surcharge.....8.95". I called the number on the bill and explained that I felt deceived by the $8.95 charge since it is not noted in the website promotional information and was not mentioned by the office customer service person. The billing customer service person, who was very pleasant in following the script, said that it was a passthrough charge that Spectrum had to pay to the local stations. I responded that if Spectrum is required to pay it as a cost of doing business then it should included in the monthly cost. The billing customer service person stuck to the script and would not delete the $8.95 charge. It should be noted that there are mentions of Spectrums "Broadcast TV Surcharge" on some websites that focus on TV services. All I've read so far indicate that the surcharge stays with Spectrum and is not passed through to local channels. It appears that Spectrum's TV Choice program is deliberately deceptive and a corporate SCAM. read more

I made an appointment at the store because my bill keeps going up but my service keeps going down. The lady in the store doesn't let you finish a sentence and can only sell you new services but if you want helps with a current service she told me I have to call "billing". When I made the appointment online, the category I selected was "billing". If they can't help me in the store then why let me make an appointment? It would help if the lady in the store was good at general customer service and not rude. They also send marketing material to me literally everyday in the mail with great offers for new customers but can't help existing customers. Maybe if they put some of that marketing money into helping existing accounts they wouldn't lose so much business. The internet service itself is super unreliable too. It cuts out constantly. HORRIBLE business and DECEITFUL staff. I went to cancel my cable service & only keep internet. The young woman at the counter didn't talk to me the whole time she was on the computer doing the transaction, when she finally looked up, she said it was complete & my new bill would show new cost. I asked if I would be prorated or I wanted the cable extended until my billing date. Her supervisor, Jim, stepped in & Stated it is not Soectrum's policy to ask or tell the customer that the service does not prorate and money is not refunded. Jim stated his supervisors told him not to tell customers. When I loudly complained, he stated he would turn my cable back on, which when I got home, my cable was not on. I called Spectrum for assistance, the woman said that is not their policy as she knows it, as she tells customers what to expect. Buyer Beware!!!! Call Direct tv or anyone else! I am not one to complain but felt compelled after this experience with TWC. Worst Customer Service ever! After upgrading my service to a faster modem/internet I walked in to the Coronado office to return the old modem. The representative at the counter made a mistake and shut off some of my service. While I was at the counter another customer walked in ranting about her horrific experience...go figure. After countless hours on the phone (over the holidays no less) and no less than 6 different "technicians" promising service would be restored within 2 hours and 6 different times they promised to call back within 2 hours to confirm ...not one of them ever called back and the service still is not restored to what I was sold when I dropped off the old modem. I walked back into the Coronado office today and was told the offer I was sold with the upgraded modem was no longer available and I would have to switch to a slower modem and pay a bit more to get all of the channels turned back on. WTHeck?! Soooo frustrating and worst customer service ever. Direct TV seems to be the best option...at less than 50% of the cost of TWC plus you get the Direct Cinema technology for free (like netflicks). read more

If there had been a negative number to use for a rating, I would have chosen it!! In Feb of this year when I lived in Coronado, I paid my last bill and turned in the equipment to the Coronado office on 4 March because I was moving. I ended up moving to an area that does not have TWC. Little did I know that I would be OH SO THANKFUL for that. In March, I received a bill from TWC. I called their 1-800 number to let them know that I had moved. I was assured by the person on the other end that the TWC billing system would catch up with the fact that I had moved. In April, I received another bill. This time, adding the charges from March. I called and, again, was told that the system would update soon and that I should receive another bill in May but that would be it. Well, it is now November and I not only received another bill in the mail but also a notice from a collection agency. I called the TWC 1-800 number twice more and have been told that I now owe a 'service fee' of $212 and change. WOW! I stopped my service back on 4 March and turned in my equipment to the office in Coronado in Feb, continued to get billed, called numerous times to try to get them to understand that they were billing me in error and....yet...they continued! Now, I have a collection agency wanting me to pay this "service fee" that I should not have acrrued to begin with. I have no other option now, but to go to the BBB to try to get help to clear this up!! I will NEVER, EVER use TWC again!! Hell will freeze over NUMEROUS times AND I WILL STILL NOT USE TWC again. It's bad enough the people in the office didn't do they job back in Feb, but now even calling and trying to get help over the phone doesn't work. At some point, you would have thought I would have reached SOMEONE with common sense INSTEAD I HAD TO TALK TO GREEDY people.
