I had a wonderful experience at the Costa Mesa store while changing over to Spectrum mobile. There were some preliminary steps that were required prior to activating my phone. Not being comfortable with what needed to be done, I went back to the store once I received my sim card. Alberto was fantastic. Despite the store being quite busy, he spent a significant amount of time with me correcting a glitch which was encountered. He was knowledgeable, persistent and most pleasant, He obviously knows the importance of good customer service! And I'm pleased I'll be saving almost $300. a year as a result of changing over. read more

As a new customer this company could careless getting my service installed. They provide confirmation numbers that do not show when you come into the store. Then I self check in at the kiosk and the spectrum employees call other ppl who came in after me. This is by far the worst experience ever. I cannot express how much I hate this company and especially this store. After being an "ignorant customer" for over 20 years, this is not just a rant this is a real life experience of how crappy the services with this company and this store. First, they beg you to go to paperless billing and direct withdrawal payments, just so that they can "accidentally add services" to your bill which you really don't notice until a few months later. When you call them up and you realize that you've been paying for services that you did not request then they claim they can only go back a month or two to fix the problem. "Ooops you should noticed the change in your billing as we slipped it in your mass spam of emails..." It's the biggest crock ever! Then when you try to drop off equipment and some lazy employee does not give you a proper receipt for it they charge you for not returning the equipment. Odd how you rent a modem for $10 a month for 2 years = $240, then they charge $200 for the purchase of the equipment? What the hell is that? Also after being a customer with them for more than 20 years you find out that new customers get cheaper services at better rates unless you call them to confirm all this - they keep charging you the higher rates and crappy service. Then when you call them up to say that you want to cancel them all together, then they go out of their way to basically match at best what other providers offer. Zero customer loyalty. ZERO! The final icing on the cake was today when I try to drop off my modem in person (after learning to get a receipt so you don't get charged for it) I walk into the store where there's only two people working and only one person waiting... Don't be fooled.... it still took me 45 minutes to drop off my damn modem. The unbelievable part is, my entire process sitting at the counter for me was 30 seconds. They scan the modem and handed me a receipt. I had to wait 45 minutes for that. WTF! I had to wait for all this "other stuff" that they keep "busy" with. One the people there was trying to sort out that they too dropped off equipment and were being charged for it. Hmmmm sounds familiar. Obviously it sucks when you have to deal with major corporations and giant conglomerate is like this, but this group is the worst of them all. So pick the lesser of the two evils and definitely don't pick this group! They are terrible. I wish I could post negative stars! read more

You have to make an appointment to go to the store. They offer high speed internet service even though they can not deliver it!. But they will charge you for it! Every day at the same time my internet service goes down, they have NO solution. The wifi router is junk and I can not use it, But I am paying $85.00 a month for their services and equipment. I am so sick and tired of getting Robo calls from Spectrum, virtually every single day from a different phone number no matter how many times I block that number I still get their damn calls. I hate spectrum I will never ever ever do business with spectrum because of the way they market. if I was interested in the cable company, I would reach out to them, but i continue to get on almost a daily occurrence their Robot calls when I am busy in my day. is so irritating it is unbelievable I do not know how to stop their damn calls. I would recommend customers to switch to Frontier over Spectrum any day. They unfortunately lack the customer service responsibilities of being a fair provider while canceling services. We cancelled 5 days into our service for the month and are being threatened to go to collections and owning $190 for the month. Understaffed and the employees are not afraid to raise voice at people. They kept telling everyone who walked In to sign in. So the people that could just pay on a kiosk ended up signing in which pushed the others who actually needed to talk to an associate back to a waiting time of one hour. When they finally figured out that people who can sign in on a kiosk signed in on their name they just left it off. The worst customer service in the store. Rude and talked down to you. This fat guy named Matthew is super annoying. He not only likes to argue, he repeatedly calling me "Maam" like 25 times the entire 5 minutes we're in the store. Who does he think he's talking to? Will be a new customer. Bringing business to your company. What an idiot! Then they asked us for a copy of our deed of trust because we just bought the house and would like to start a new account. We didn't ask for the existing account to be terminated. Our seller is moving out tomorrow. Stupid company policy. And I thought Cox was bad but at least their customer service was good. Horrible horrible billing "customer service.!!" Needs to be de-regulated so not forced to use only one cable service. Call today for the umpteenh time about same billing overcharges month after month. "Harmony" couldn't understand the simple math error & wouldn't get a Supervisor. Actually THREATENED me w exp of a promo. When pinned down, confirmed "promo" doesn't expire until 9/16/2022!! In a nutshell, unlike every biz on planet, no one sends out a confirming email re any billing correction so next one doesn't understand & I, as customer, have no proof. I have had spectrum for about 2 years now. The internet was good at first, but started having many problems afterwards. The last year it has stopped working many times with us having to reboot the modem. The cable has also had many problems within the last year with us having to reboot more often then we would like. Now the cable box is a glichy mess. When it comes to billing they have raised the price within a year about $60. I called today and spoke to Rob and he said that I basically had no options they could not help me with any promotions, and that they will only do promotions for new customers period! When I had AT&T they never raised my price that much, they also never said no to helping customers renew or get another promotion. The only option I have now is to shop around and cancel my service! I called to cancel my service, because they increase rates constantly and the only way to get them down is to call and threaten to cancel. It's too much of a hassle to do this dance every year with them, such a scam. Then they told me I was required to pay for the entire month even though today is 12/8. They were super rude to me over the phone. Then the provider told me they would cancel my service as of tomorrow morning because that's when I would have my new service installed. Every year Spectrum increases your rates. We've been paying $213+ which is pricey and of course every year for the past many years they say "oh your promotion has expired" so you now owe over $28 more per month. That is a significant increase per year for a service that is not stellar with not great tv service nor great internet speeds. I have had spectrum television service for about six months and I am ready to cut them off. All of a sudden they started putting extra charges on my bill supposedly for things that I had ordered which I never did. When talking to them on the phone, after a long wait, they told me that they couldn't remove the charges that they could only stop them from happening again. The second individual I talked to was even rude and he obviously had no intention or desire to help me. I recommend to anybody that has service with spectrum to look at your statements closely you could be paying more than you have to. read more

The process to get Spectrum Mobile is an unnecessarily poor experience. Verified the phone and IMEI number on the website. Even verified it in store just to be sure. Turns out despite Spectrum claiming the S8 works, it doesn't. Even Best Buy's unlocked S8 didn't work. S9 worked right away. Terrible experience. Multiple customer support agents, multiple Sim cards.... huge waste of time. read more

I switched my internet to Spectrum from At&T a couple years ago and I find their service is vastly superior. I always get help in a couple of minutes when I call and the employees of the Costa Mesa store were very efficient and welcoming (Matthew, I think). They also bumped up my internet to 200 mpbs last year. I cannot speak about the TV service but for the internet, they do a good job for me. read more

this is the worst spectrum store I have ever been to. Their self serve pay machine has been out for months. in the past prior to having these machines every spectrum store I've been to will have a separate pay your bill line as it's a very rapid transaction. But this store makes customers wait in the same line as those initiating new cable service or a new phone etc. transactions that can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. This is horrible customer service. all that time people are forced to wait 30+ minutes to pay their bill, a transaction that takes less than five at least for me I'm asking myself why the hell do I have spectrum?? To management you should really consider having a separate line for those there to pay their bill. The other thing I've noticed there's 5 to 6 customer service reps working..Yet they will only have One dealing with customers when there is 8 to 10 people waiting in the queue.. read more

i have had spectrum for a few years and I've called a couple times about why I'm being charged for home phone when I've never had one. i asked them for a refund but they said there is nothing they can do . i find that odd and possibly illegal. but I've talked to couple people who have said it would be taken off my bill well. Spectrum is a nightmare and I'm glad to be done with them. They have the worst customer service. My mother passed away so I needed to disconnect her service. I looked online and of course, they won't let you just take care of it online. I tried the online chat - again, couldn't help me with chat and said I needed to call or go in. I called customer service - message said 40 min. wait for the next available technician. Got in my car and drove to the Costa Mesa location. Signed in at the front and took a seat. Big mistake. I didn't have an appointment, so I sat their for over 30 mins. while folks with appointments strolled in and were seen ahead of me. They only had two technicians working, and they were spending on average about 10-15 mins. with each customer, sometimes even a little more. Even with all the people waiting for service, they were still pushing other services with sales pitches and making small talk with the folks they were helping, rather than moving along quickly to reduce the wait times. After about 20 mins. of waiting, one of the guys took a break, so that left one person working in the store. I finally got called for my turn. Went to the desk with all my equipment, told him I just wanted to disconnect services, and he asked if I was moving and wanted to transfer service. I said no, I was cancelling this because my mom had died. He said some condolences. He then started to work on the disconnection. Since I was only a couple of days into my billing period he said he'd back date the transaction to save me the month's fees (they don't pro-rate). I thanked him. He then kept working and working on the computer. He kept saying just a couple more minutes. After about 10 mins., I asked if there was a problem and he said the system wasn't working. The other guy came out after his break and my guy called him over to help. The other guy said he'd never seen that problem before and suggested that he just do it manually and give me a receipt. He then went back to work on the computer and again kept saying just a couple more minutes. I said, can't you just give me a receipt and fix this later (at this point I'd been standing there about 20 mins.) He said that Monday's were the busiest day and it was just going to take some time. He was trying one more thing. Of course he had stopped working to give me this attitude and lecture. I asked him to just keep working so I could leave. He finally finished, had me sign the receipt, and then he started typing on the computer again and going on and on about how he saved me money by back dating the service and how I wouldn't have gotten that on the phone, and how I was ungrateful and didn't even say thank you. I said, "can I go now," and he said yes, he was just checking to see how much money he had saved me, so I walked out. Please remember that the entire reason I was there was to cancel my deceased mother's service. This was the rudest I have ever been treated in a customer service setting. I was in the store an hour to just cancel service - something I should have been able to do online. I think they don't want you to cancel online because they want to try and keep you as a customer by pushing transferring services, or by offering deals. Over the years I've been able to do everything else online. Spectrum (and previously Charter) has always been a nightmare with customer service. read more
