Quality of internet: poor, I had the highest gig they provide. It wasn't even fast. I would always have problems with them towards the end of the month. Mind you, I used auto pay so the money deducts automatically. Until they received payment, my internet would always slow down by the last week of the month. When I complained about it to them. They would say, you need to upgrade your modem. I upgraded my modem three times since I was with them. I had to be with them because my subdivision only allowed them as internet and TV provider. Thankfully, AT&T came in. We switched. I don't recommend them at all. The customer service was good though. They always came out to see the issues, the phone people were polite. I've been a Spectrum customer since it converted from Time Warner. I rarely have outages with Spectrum. The internet speeds are excellent. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. It seems like my neighbors with AT&T constantly have problems. I don't know what AT&T charges, but Spectrum is not cheap. read more

I broke my phone a week before Mother's Day. I was constantly going back and forth to the Frisco location, and every time I went, I was greeted, and was taken care of, and received information that helped along the way every time. Long story short, Brenden, Shawn, Cayce, Krista, and the manager at the Frisco location were ALL very kind and very willing to help me no matter the problem I had. Got a new phone a week later and advice on how to deal with a "sticky" situation in the meantime. I was very pleased to see all of these kind representatives giving a helping hand and information to help with my situation. They have the "screw the customer whenever you can" attitude. This is third time. First two time the increased the bill and charged my card without informing the price increase. After three years I wanted to give another try. Ordered the service. Got an email stating that they started billing, before even I installed. When I called customer service "we started billing but you don't owe anything now". I didn't understand why you bill customers before even the service started. Avoid Spectrum at all costs. There's no customer service, when you inquire about options, they will tell you there are none and until you submit your cancellation in, which is too late. Been with spectrum for 3+ years had not been able to use any other service provider. I was paying for their top speed of one gig even though my speeds were reading 1/2 of that and they made it a point to tell me that my service was nowhere near what I should be getting so they had to send a technician out. Service also frequently drops and is not reliable. when I found out my discount was being removed by then immediately called to cancel my service at that time I was two days past my billing cycle and it was too late inspector said I'm so sorry there's nothing that we can do and that even though I canceled today because I was able to go through AT&T fiber optic who offers better speed upload and download significantly faster who is charging me $37 a month. Company of scammers. I called them to ask if their internet could be used at my apartment complex and was told yes. I get their equipment and no matter what outlet I plug it into it doesn't work, so they send out a technician who ends up calling me and informing me that I was lied to, and that service could not be provided to my address. I got busy and will admit that I took a while to return their plastic box, so I was expecting a frivolous charge for that but as it turns out they actually activated my service without my permission and with being able to see in their system that I never was able to set the box up and began charging me normally as if I was. I now owe them almost $200 for no service provided and the lady over the phone would not do anything about it. Basically they're scamming me, as I wasnt able to use a single Kilobyte of their internet but have to pay a month and a late charge regardless. Do not go with their internet service. Worst provider ever. I suffer from no internet 3 to 4 times a day and they told me it maybe because I am not on their 1 Gig plan and to upgrade. The apartment chose our plans and it is a service associated with it. People in my building suffer droppages and at random times during meeting and events. Horrendous, the rudest customer service on Earth. I own several rental properties and I have never ever been talked to the way these employees have dealt with me. Closed the account, new renters took over new account months ago and so-called customer service will still not stop harassing me...they call me everyday from a 800 number for payments even after the account closed, for the "equipment". When I finally answered one day, I told them I won't pay anything over the phone, send me a statement, they get hostile and threaten to send me to collections. Worse company ever. Spectrum has the absolute worst Wi-Fi. spectrum has the worst download speeds and they have the worst upload speeds I have ever seen. I get 20 Mbps upload speed Max. And 200 Mbps is my max download. I don't recommend getting spectrum Wi-Fi. AT&T has the best home Wi-Fi and it's great for gaming, office work, and more. I get around 60 to 80 ping while playing games and I have Ethernet directly going from my router to my Xbox And it's still has horrible ping, download, and upload speeds. But my friend has AT&T fiber and he gets 2 ping and 900 to 1,200 Mbps on both upload and download. So if your a gamer or someone that enjoys high speed Wi-Fi I don't recommend spectrum. Plus, You can get the AT&T Fiber 1 gig Home Wi-Fi plan and its only 10 more dollars a month. Now if you don't need high speeds you can get their 300 to 500 Mbps plan that actually gets speeds well over 500 Mbps download and upload. Also, if your looking into the 1 gig spectrum Wi-Fi plan its 10 dollars cheaper for a very good reason. It doesn't even get 1 gig speeds. DON'T GET SPECTRUM!!! read more

I moved from an Apt to a home. I called and had my cable/internet service stopped effective April 20. I returned all the equipment as directed without problem. Then I receive my final bill for approx $150 for service from April 15 thru May 15. I think that it is clearly a mistake so I call. I spoke to 2 different CSR's and finally the "shift leader". They all explain the same thing. "Spectrum bills monthly and they do not pro-rate". So I clarified with the manager. I asked him "Are you telling me that although I cancelled my service 5 days into the billing cycle and am not under any contract that I must still pay for the entire month in advance even though I have already returned the equipment and cannot even use it"? He said "yes, that is correct". "Because we have already issued the bill". I explained to him that I have NEVER heard of any company with that kind of policy and I thought it was unethical and borderline illegal. No one was friendly or offered in any way to help resolve this. As if they did not care about customer service at all. Now I am forced to pay for a service that I can't use.
