I switched to spectrum mobile from Verizon. What a huge mistake. I got the worst phone service ever. Intermittent, and dropped calls. Sometimes I wouldn't receive calls at all, and my iPhone 11 wouldn't even know someone called me. I called Spectrum customer service. Most people I spoke to were incompetent. They gave me the run-around transferring me between departments. One of them deactivated my line leaving me without service. I moved from out of state. They took advantage of the fact I didn't know about their average cost, and set me up on a plan for $200 month claiming it was the best. It was their plan that's normally $70. to everyone else. I complained about the cost and asked to be dropped to something cheaper. They lowered me to their "cheapest plan" which is $170 a month. When I asked why I can't have the $25 plan my neighbours have, or even the $70 plan they said that it's cuz my original rate locked me in a bracket. The only way to escape it is to pay it all, close my account, go 30 days without internet (I work from home) and then have my roommate open an account in their name for the affordable plans they offer literally everyone else. read more

While I LOVE NY1, I am disgusted with Spectrum. They increased my bill by over $100 a month for pretty basic TV/Internet, then when I called to get a new package, they told me I'd get a free galaxy tablet with it. I did not want or need mobile service or a tablet, but they insisted the tablet was free. Needless to say, it was not. They charged me $200 for the tablet (can find it cheaper on line) and $20/month mobile service fee and never sent a chip so I can't even use it. After HOURS of speaking to representatives and supervisors, the last one was "Chris" who assured me he would get to the bottom of things and comp me the mobile service and look into the one offer I had to reduce the cost of the tablet. However, ,during our conversation I can easily say that "Chris" needs to take an implicit bias course -- his assumptions about me based on my voice and gender were revolting. So? Never heard from the again. I thought I'd write to the CEO, COO and head of Retention. Good luck finding their info. Their numbers lead to a loop of useless "representatives". I've reported this to the Better Business Bureau and will be looking to change all my services, despite how much I love NY1. Spectrum, the only real monopoly left in LA, is the most inept, inneffective, and horrible service I've ever encountered in an internet "provider". This beaurocratic nightmare that charades itself as service must be broken from the top down. How is it that an internet service doesn't have the capability to update a customer's PHONE NUMBERED?! We switched our mobile service from ATT to Spectrum to consolidate our services, and the offer from Spectrum was quite a bit less than ATT for the same services. IT HAS BEEN A HUGE AND NIGHTMARISH MISTAKE. A month later and we had to cancel with Spectrum. 1st: Our new sim cards came and we could only get one phone working. We called Customer Service and were passed around for hours. Finally, we talked to a tech rep who assured us the problem would be fixed within 24hrs. 2nd: 24hrs came and went and no service. A variation of this song & dance went on with Spectrum Customer Service for weeks. Each time we were assured the problem was fixed, and it actually got worse. Both phones became inactive for a time and our phone numbers were changed. 3rd: After 4 WEEKS of this we finally cancelled the service and have decided to go to another carrier. I rue the day we tried to change carriers. One month later we have no service and our long time phone numbers with ATT are gone, baby, gone. This was the most frustrating dealing with any so-called Customer Service department I've ever dealt with in my long life. I went to spectrum from Verizon because the rates are low. I had a change in pay dates and asked for an extension after a year of service with them. This was the only extension I asked for. They said they don't do extensions. Even Metro pcs does extensions. Customer service is also the worst. Transferred all around when trying to talk to someone in mobile. Also, you can't move to another carrier with your spectrum phone like you can with other providers. read more

I lost my phone and had contacted spectrum to shut off my phone and transfer my number to my newly purchased Samsung Galaxy A13 5G. Well, the rep transferred my wife's phone number to my new phone. Now both phones are inoperable. I called them four times to explain the situation and finally I reached a spectrum rep who understood and told me that it will take 72 hours to fix. Since I contacted them on a Thursday, it will not be 72 hours but, a minimum of, 96 hours. Besides this, the new phone, Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, does not connect to the Dexcom G6 app, which is the whole reason for buying the new phone. Now I must purchase another new phone that will connect to the Dexcom G6 app. The service and ineptitude of spectrum mobile is beyond description. They changed my phone number. Without me asking. It took them 2 minutes to kick me off the network, and reconnect with a new phone number that nobody in my family knew how to contact. It then took them 6 days to switch it back. I had to call probably 10+ times to get them to change it back. Bad coverage? High prices? Funky contracts? I feel like most companies have these problems from time to time. But my God, a mobile company has ONE job, and that's to keep your phone number the same. Spectrum can't activate apple products properly i've paid $20 trying to activate my watch. 1st time when they initially set it up and it didnt go through so they had to cancel that activation and had to pay another $10 for a 2nd attempt at activation and its still not activated. Also found out they were under a class action suit. Stay away from Spectrum mobile. Lawrenceville, Georgia store was useless. Spectrum is a nightmare. For months I've tried calling in for support and every agent has thrown their hands up and said "there's nothing I can do" when they couldn't find my account. Just said it didn't exist. I wasn't able to get any support or service. But I'm being billed, so it must exist somewhere. I finally had an amazing customer service rep dig until they found it because I'm trying to switch to another carrier (wonder why...) Spectrum is supposed to be fixing this issue so that my number can be released, but it's going on 5 days since the ticket was put in, and no resolution yet. If you value your time, I "HIGHLY" discourage you from switching to Spectrum (regardless of the promised savings & their claim that they use Verizon towers). We are going on over 9 hours (between calls & in store visits) to try to switch our lines & they still didn't get it right (they switched 2 lines & left the other 2 with Verizon). We were instructed to go to the store to resolve it and at the store they said they couldn't help us. Extremely poor training & total incompetence. The employees don't know what they are doing. On top of it all, the calls are constantly dropping and the texts have to be resent several times to go through. The advantages with Spectrum Mobile are several. Comparing it to other mobile services it's the best. Why then? You might ask. First there is an extended grace period when you're late paying the bill. Also, with unlimited, they'll send you a message after you have reached 20 GB that your service will be slower. This is not true because I have had to use my hotspot a lot, and there is no limit. So far have used 130 GB! But my phone is not slow, only for uploads.
