I've been coming here for nearly 10 years and I've never experienced such bad service. The staff are extremely rude and condescending and when I try to call about a simple request they ignore me and tell me to calm down. Then they say how busy they are and hang up on me. I guess they're so busy with patients they can afford to lose one. Update: I visited in person to get help because they were ignoring my texts and Peter Liu refused to speak to me. He literally walked away from me and slammed the door in my face. He gaslighted me, said I have no manners and that I don't know know what I'm talking about. I do not recommend this business at all. This is long overdue. I meant to write a review a long time ago, but for some reason I completely stopped using Yelp for years and then picked it up again a few months ago. And here we are. I've been coming to Spectrum for what feels like 7-8 years. Back then, I only went to their other location at Diamond Jamboree due to convenience, but then I moved closer to the Walnut location so started going there more often. Also, deep down I always hated the Diamond Jamboree parking lot. Regardless of the location, the service has always been consistently good. The staff is very friendly and some of them got jokes (everyone knows I'm talking about YOU, Peter). The optometrist I see every time I visit is Dr. Gun. He is a cool guy with a cooler name. We get along pretty well which I think is important if you're depending on the guy to help keep your vision healthy for the rest of your life. It helps that we're around the same age (I think). I think he looks a couple of years younger than me but it somehow feels like he's a bit older. I've known him for so long and now I'm too scared to ask... Anywho, Dr. Gun was the first person I spoke to about LASIK. When he told me I was a good candidate, I told myself I'm getting the procedure done ASAP. Best decision I ever made and I appreciated Dr. Gun's expertise and advice on the subject. It's been about 9 months since I got LASIK and ironically, I'm visiting Spectrum more often now than when I was wearing contacts/glasses. Turns out LASIK requires a lot of follow-up appointments for about a year. But hey, I'm not complaining. I'm in and out in 20 minutes tops and I spend most of it chatting with the employees. Plus, there a lot of great places to eat within walking distance but I digress. To wrap up, I'd like the folks at Spectrum Optometry keep doing what they're doing. I don't know if they're accepting new patients, but I'd highly recommend them if you're looking for an optometrist. read more

I explained on the call that they have limited understanding of English and would like to be accompanied by me at the appointment and the person in the call(Peter) agreed. At the time of arrival to our appointment the staff did not let us in. They told us they can only attend one person, event hough this was discussed. They were very rude and the manager(Peter) came to the door and after saying hi, told me that from his understanding my parent's English is completely fine and do not need me inside. He didn't speak a word to my parents and rudely closed the door on me and almost hit me and told me that if I cannot respect their rules I should take my business elsewhere, meanwhile he wasn't even wearing a mask inside the store. read more

I called to inquire about purchasing designer prescription sunglasses. I have my own prescription and know what I want but the person on the phone was extremely rude saying "you're not following me" and "You should have said that sooner. We didn't have to waste time talking about this." Their website says they carry Chanel but when I called he said "You need to call another shop that carries that brand". The only reason I called is because the website says they carry it. I don't mind an outdated website but this gentleman was beyond rude and was not helpful at all. The most funny thing in this business is they still ask customers to make an appointment even though customers have descriptions and only need to purchase frames and liens! That's ridiculous! The frame options are limited and pricy. When I decided to go somewhere else to get my glasses and I asked for the description, the service manager (seems like Tracy, don't remember clearly) took a long time about an hour to keep me waiting. When I complained a little bit, the doctor (seems like the business owner) said:" she is doing her best. Watch your tone! I never experienced the rude service like this. I rushed out and find another optometry and get my glasses with a reasonable price and far more friendly service. Never go to this place. Unfortunately, after a 10+ year relationship I'm taking my family's care elsewhere. Such a shame because Dr. Wu is a good doctor. The self-proclaimed "lion of the den" at Spectrum Optometry, Peter, is a cancer to their business. He is rude and has the absolute worst customer service. Additionally, their attempt embrace technology via text messaging is not efficient and creates confusion. Where other doctor offices have succeeded in this, Spectrum Optometry has failed. Ultimately, doctor's offices are businesses. They should provide exceptional care and exceptional customer service to all their patients. Especially to those patients who selectively spend $3-4k a year at their business. read more

I already thought it is your right to get your record from your doctor. It is not the case for this store. They claimed they are not allowed to print (when I was at store) or email you your prescription. They can only text you a link ONCE. If you cannot find the text, too bad it is your problem. I have exchanged more than 10 text to request a link without success. I finally gave up. I did another eye exam from my Ophthalmologist and he is willing to print it out. Just want to let everyone know that unless you are 100% sure that you will buy glasses from there, don't get eye exam there because there is a risk you can not get your paid eye exam prescription. The old lady once complained we didn't buy glasses from them. I understand they want us to buy glasses so they can make more money. We were originally committed to buy one from the store until we learned there was additional charge (out of stock order) on the top the hundreds dollars we need to pay if we wanted the one my wife saw earlier. so we didn't want to buy it. Before we left, I asked the distance of my pupil which they checked during my exam. They refused to provide it to me. The old lady said I should ask where I buy the glasses. :( By the way, the young optometrist is really nice. This is one question for everyone. Do we have a right to get one printed prescription or email version after you pay for it? read more

Go anywhere else. Technician snapped my glasses in half! Zero stars if I could. Doctor who does not care about patients or eye health at all. This is a waste of your money, time, and insurance. At the end of my short eye exam, the technician snapped my only pair of glasses (that were previously damaged, only legs were a bit bent) in half with no apology. This technician told me "not to touch" when I attempted to grab him from bending so aggressively. He left the room and came back with them snapped down the middle, he also blamed me for this.
