For starters, the customer service is consistently top of the line. If for some reason they miss your call, they call you back promptly even if you didn't leave a voice message. I've found most mechanics to be terrible at answering their phone at all. The ones that do answer are very short with you and seem inconvenienced if asked more than 2-3 basic questions. In comparison, these guys are friendly, enthusiastic, and actually helpful! They work with your schedule as best as they can and even recommend the best local businesses for work they don't perform i.e. auto body shop. Don't just take my word for it; do yourself a favor and call them; even just to get info regarding your specific need. From the initial phone call, you'll see what I'm talking about. Even more importantly, Bennett's Auto Shop is honest and operates with integrity. My very first experience with them was when my car started making an alarming rattling sound while driving on the highway. I was sure it would be a minimum of several hundred dollars in repair. Bennet made a way to fit me in the schedule toward the end of the day, took the time to jack the car up, and saw that a simple loose screw was causing all the racket. He was completely transparent, and even showed my husband what he had found. How many of you know that the majority of places nowadays would have slapped you with a large bill and you wouldn't even be informed of the simplicity of the repair. He has been happy to tell me when I DON'T need to spend money on something and also been careful to try to find the most cost effective route to go. While they are beyond capable of handling normal service / repair work on daily driver cars, where they excel is on high performance and track prepared cars. Bob and other members of his team have extensive experience racing, servicing and building full blown race / track cars. That was my experience ELSEWHERE... My experience with Surreal Customs has been nothing but great so far (I'm one day from picking my car up). I found them while searching online for body shops who specialized in customization, such as: widebody, fender flaring, molding body kits, customizing bumpers by hybridizing 2 different bumpers - to be merged as one, etc... I had big plans for my car.. I saw their Facebook reviews, and was thoroughly impressed, nearly 5 stars out of half a hundred or so people, that was saying something. I gave the shop a call, and spoke to the owner, he responded to all of my inquiries thoroughly, and I asked if I could swing by to see some of their work in person.. A MUST DO, for any body shop you're considering, as photos never tell the whole story. I visited the shop, met with the owner, he showed me some of the stuff going on there, some fender widening in progress, some paint jobs, a frame off restoration, etc, I was happy to see all of my expectations were confirmed, it looked like they did good work. I brought my car in, we reviewed the scope of work, we priced it, and we were set to go. I dropped off my car, and since I have been kept very in the loop as to it's status, any discrepancies from our original expectations, etc, in the final stages of them making my car ready for my pick up, they noticed a small imperfection had occurred during the curing process of some filler, that was previously smooth (I'd felt it smooth a few days prior when I stopped by), RATHER THAN trying to pass off the car to me w/that issue there, they contacted me, let me know the issue, and let me know they were addressing it, and asked if I could wait one more night, which I gladly will for a proper job. I appreciate the small stuff, which is so sadly not the norm anymore. Things like: not trying to "pass the buck", and standing behind your work, these guys do that, and are stand up guys. My car already looked great when I saw it today, and can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. Long story short, I've seen their paint work in person, LOOKS LIKE FACTORY PAINT, their customization is very good from what I've seen, and their ethics are outstanding, which is probably the most important part. So whether you're looking for a body shop for a simple fender bender, or for completely custom work, I whole heatedly recommend Tim & his crew over at Surreal Customz. Thanks guys!

Now that I've said that - my experiences with Tim and the squad at Sureal have been fantastic. From minor work, like putting a coat of candy red paint on my tail lights to really set off the rear of the car, to reworking fenders to really tuck the wheel and lay out. This once was a great shop . I used them for tire works and alignments for my fleet of buses. On…read moremy last repair I did a complete brake job with me rotors, pads, rebuild of all calipers. I got 100 miles and one wheel locked up due to them incorrectly installing a slack adjuster for brakes. My tire locked up and almost burnt my vehicle to the ground but I was able to cool it down and stop the smoke that was billowing out the side. That's not the issue mistakes happen it how they handled it. I bring vehicle back to them after making emergency repairs on side of road. After two weeks of listening to Billy the manager complain about how overworked they are my bus had yet to be touched. My brake job was almost $4000. Finally they put a mechanic they just hired who seemed ok but was fired a week into my repair. Billy tells me that they don't trust his work and want to go through everything he did. I was fine with that as we are now on week four (4) . Two weeks go by and they tell me the had to replace a slack adjuster for the brakes and then I had them do an oil change. Now we are on week (6) bus is done. I asked for the bill so I could pay but billy could not get a bill together. Week (7) I go down there and they won't release bus because bill is still not done . After yelling and screaming they finally give me a bill which is around $1200 $200 was for the new slack adjuster . Billy was supposed to give me a discount for all the problems but he refused and instead threatened to call the police on me. All I wanted was to pay my bill and leave. They wanted me to leave my vehicle and return when bill is ready but now my vehicle is there for 7 weeks for a one day repair but I did not leave without my vehicle .This all happened a few months back. So last week I'm driving on 75 near Sarasota and the tire that locked up blows out when the tire changer showed up and pulled of the rim you could see all the work that I had done. Except MY OLD SLACK ADJUSTER THAT I JUST PAYED $200 to replace is on there. Basically they charged for new parts and never put them on. I consider that stealing. My $700 Michelin tire that had 80% tread was a total loss . STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS THE OWNER PAUL NEVER RESPONDED.
