Alex F These guys also charged me twice for my smog check - they told me to drive my car to Santa Cruz - when I got my keys to drive my car the mechanic tells me if it passes I would only have to pay for the $9.00 smog smog certificate but when it passed they told me I would have to pay again - so I pay again and call the manager he tells me to come back and they would reimburse the $29.00 but when I get there they couldn't put the money back on my card (a lie) but they would give me a free oil change - I tell them to send my a coupon for the oil change - one week later no coupon - I wanted the coupon so I could get it done at another location as I don't want them to work on my car ever again - I called my bank and they are sending me the paperwork to fill out so I can have them put the money back on my card - these guys don't even deserve 1 star read more

Very slow to provide service. I had several other customers that arrived after me and I ended up being the one leaving after 3 hours. Seems like these guys take too long to finish an hour's worth of service in 3 hours. Also, they wanted to trick me into buying something I didn't need for my car. took my truck for a brake inspection, they called me told me all i needed was to replace the rear brake pads ($336.00), i said ok go ahead. Within two days of the repair there was a really awful smell coming from the brakes that were replaced and soon smoke started coming out of the brake pads. (i have a video by the way) anyways at that point i immediately drove to their shop and told them what was happening. They said they would take a look at it and call me back. They called me back and told me that the truck calipers were not working properly and that they needed to be changed and that i would have to pay for the parts and labor which was another $244.00. at this point i was very frustrated because i had asked for a brake inspection to begin with for the reason that i didn't wanted to spend more than what i needed to. plus this was a problem happening in a place where they serviced my car not to mention all the time wasted in order to deal with this issue and the awful consequences this could of caused me if i gotten in an accident. i didn't wanted to deal with them so i just picked up my truck. i didn't wanted something else going wrong and have to keep paying them to fix it. very disappointed how they handled their returns since i have always been a customer. read more

If I could give no stars I would! I have been going to this place for a couple years, but this last time I brought it in for a basic tune up that was to be around $88.00 ended up costing me well over $300.00. Turns out they found something wrong, then I get a call something else came up, then another call, by this time I was thinking to myself "Something is just not right". They insisted I pay this amount as they stated they did the work, I did. The very next day "ENGINE LIGHT" is on, I take it back they have the nerve to charge a DX fee and tell me it's not related to what they did. Honestly I think they did something to my SUV to make more business?? A friend had the same issue and their friend. They say "we care about our customers'...I do not think so. All they care about is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. It is so sad as I did trust them at one point. not anymore found a new place that is really honest and fair...They tell me they hear of bad stories all the time... If I could give this business negative stars I would! A few months ago I took my Honda in for an oil change and of course as other reviews stated they found my air filter as well as my belts needed to be replaced. After waiting several hours my car was finally ready. The next day when I got in my car to go to work my car started to screech hideously. I ended up taking my car back the next day and they claimed it was tricky to adjust the band just right and needed to tighten it. Well this continued to happen over and over again and finally the 3rd time I spoke to the manager I told him if they aren't capable of changing a band I would gladly get my money back and take it to another shop. He assured me he'd fix it probably and I had nothing to worry about. Now 2 months later, my car is screeching again!! I cannot even turn on the defroster without it screech during my entire drive!! Now I'm stuck with a screeching car or pay more at another honest shop that is a capable of changing a common band on one of the most common cars around!! If you are thinking of bringing your car here, think again. Something that was suppose to be simple has now turned into a nightmare! I would never bring my car here again! read more

I used them twice for simple oil/filter change and they are competent and quick and reasonable...nuf said. They also do 30/60/90K checks on most cars for about 1/2 the cost of a dealer. They are part of Midas which does the work. I am going to try them for my 60K service on my Mazda MPV....stay tuned. read more

Took my car to get it check. We knew it was a leak on the engine so we needed it done. The officially told us the car had one leak. They gave us the estimate and we proceeded to make the job happen. The seal up the oil pan and gave the car back to us. A week later the vehicle was still leaking oil. As a matter of fact it still leak the same amount. We took it back they told us there was another leak... We told them it was leaking the same amount of oil. They did not Believe (car was losing about a quart a week) we knew this already coming into the shop. They have us another estimate and now where charging us another grand for the job they didn't finish. We tried talking to owner. But never picked up the car. Month later our car made crazy noises and we lost the car. Thanks speedie. For a quick oil change and basic car fixes I'm sure they do a magnificent job. But other than that don't trust this guys for major jobs. FYI they said they used dye to check for the leaks. I told them if they did then why didn't they find the second leak. They had no answer to my question. read more

only because i cant give zero stars.. my truck didnt pass smog, at a smog only station, their computer said it was the o2 sensor, my own code reader said it was the o2 reader, so i took it to midas to have the o2 sensor replaced. on the phone they quoted me $175, so the wednesday morning i went there, and in person they wanted an additional $125 to plug it into their computer, plus another $100-$125 for smoke test to check for leaks.. they said it was required before doing any repairs to run a full engine diagnostic before replacing my o2 sensor. they also told me that the price for the o2 sensor would not be $175, but was $250. supposed to be $175 they wanted $500 to "diagnose" the problem even though i told them what it was, then fix it frusterated and pissed off, i went next door to autozone and bought the sensor. today i climbed under the truck and did it myself. took me twice as long as the 1 hour they quoted me on the phone, but only cost me $70 for the sensor at the autozone next door to midas. stay away at all costs, they will try to sell you muffler bearings, then charge you double to put them on. try to do it yourself before going here, if you cant do it yourself, there are many other shops in the area, go to them instead of midas. i didnt know they did that, but autozone next to midas will even loan you tools to install the parts you buy from them. read more

Stay away! They did a brake inspection said all ok after I brought in for noise. Noise got worse took it somewhere else and brake pads were metal to metal! I could see how bad brakes were. I now had to get a new rotor. Watsonville Midas is horrible! read more

Came into get my smog.. Engine light was on at the time..Noticibly they had failed my smog due to check engine light- the employee already noticed it... Instead of telling me to get it fixed and comeback next time or have it diagnosed ... They have charged me for a failed smogged... Even when they knew my car is going to not "PASS".... thanks for stealing my hard earned "CASH" business like these care more about the money than the customers- don't trust spots like these!!! read more

I've brought my Mercedes here twice, both times the guys were prompt, kept me posted on everything they were doing, vaccumed the inside of my car, and the best part- these guys actually leave your change in touched :-). I have been having car trouble for a little over 2 weeks, which was gradually getting worse. I had a few near misses of being rear ended, and on one particular day, it was absolutely terrible. Upset and panicking, I took it to an auto shop in San Jose (where I work), who preyed upon my worry and told me it was a problem (completely unrelated), that I ended up costing me 350 dollars for (I needed that part but didnt solve my problem)! I did some minor work myself, but still had problems. On the day I wrote this review, my car died just as I was passing the Speedee Oil Change and Tune up station that I have used for at least the last 6 months or so. The guys there are always friendly, and they never give me a cold shoulder when I have questions. So, when my car decided to give out, again, right by Speedee's, I pulled in, and was greeted once again with a smile, only this time, I broke down in tears because I was worried how I was going to get it taken care of this time, and what financial state it would put me in this time. The gentlemen who worked on my car, were patient, understanding and listened respectfully to my complaints and problems with my car. They let me talk about the repairs I tried to make without making me feel foolish, nor did I feel I was being taken advantage of because I am female. They spent an hour working hard to find out the problem. A problem that cost me VERY little. I couldnt believe it! Even if they didnt find the problem, I was and always have been satisfied with their work, and their attitude. We have gone to Midas for a couple of years. They never open on time, even if you have an 8 AM appointment. The last time I got a quote of $549.00 for a 90K tune up, but when I came to pick up my car, they took over 30 minutes to ring me out because it was ringing up at $27 below the quote and they didn't want to get in trouble. After finally getting them to just charge me the "actual" price, they would not honor a Midas $50 off $500 or more coupon. When I complained, he said, "Well, you already got a $27 discount"! This company is a joke, my vehicle broke down 2weeks after working on , then again about 3,000 miles later. Lost all oil while driving. Took to another speedee since I was in another city. The vehicle still had warranty for what the did. They told me they couldn't touch the car for weeks--too busy. Wanted me to tow vehicle back to original speedee which was 170 miles away. The engine was damaged beyond repair. Wanted me to spend more money after just paying 900.00 to have cylinder gasket replaced. The vehicle still sits waiting for them to do the right thing and honor the warranty. Poor and lousy customer service, acts like they are above the law. read more

Before i took my car here I had heard a lot of bad things but decided to give them a Try still and At the End should have listened to What Was being said to Me....Employees Are very nice but as far as having the skill to fix a car they defiantly Lack or just don't seem to put any effort. Within 3 weeks of getting a full Platinum Tuneup And Conventional Oil My car quickly started acting up and eventually Died completely which had never happened before. i called them right away And the MANAGER was just Extremely Rude!
