I recently visited them for a smog check and was impressed by the speed and meticulousness of the mechanic. Martin the mechanic that helped me embodies honesty, as I had a pre-existing fan belt issue that I requested he inspect. Martin was truthful. Martin informed me that he couldn't hear the noise, and I explained that my husband had just temporarily alleviated the problem with WD40 before I drove over. Martin suggested I return when the noise resurfaces to enable a precise diagnosis. I inquired about replacing the belt due to its age, and Martin provided me with a reasonable quote. I received the VIP treatment both visits and observed Martin giving other customers the same high level of service. In addition my fan belt replacement was completed efficiently and promptly. This place does well on timing. Came in on a Saturday so it was only open for a few hours. Didn't take them long to have me in for a synthetic oil change($96 including ) and they even checked the pressure in my tires which I'm Thankful for! Didn't even know the pressure was too high for some reason and I've could've have a blown out tire if it wasn't for these guys giving them a quick look. I forgot the fellow's name who was attentive to me once I got there and was able to check me in quick. Great guy! They even had someone come in for a smog test which didn't take more than 10-15mins. I waited over all about 30mins which I was in no hurry at all just completely comfortable trusting these guys with my 2015 Hyundai Veloster(my baby). read more

Never take your car to Val's. My husband's 2015 GTI sat there for a week. (As I post this, his car is still at Val's.) They apparently canceled the needed parts coming from the dealer in Salinas and then denied canceling the parts. Get everything in writing since their story changes hourly. read more

I hate to leave a bad review put this one is important since they usually have good review. I took my car there to get a a diagnostic inspection and oil change. The problem is I got the oil change and not the diagnostic which was more important and I was charged $98 for oil change. I clearly stated that I needed to get the car checked because I just got it but they chose to give me the oil change and then tell me I need to bring my car back to get the diagnostic. They were trying to play me take advantage of me which is not cool they are asking people to support your local businesses why if they're going to take advantage of you and trying to play you like your stupid. Danny it's not a good guy after all I would avoid Val's they bneed to get the communication together It's a family-owned business that doesn't communicate with each other overpriced oil changes ridiculous. read more

Brought my tundra in for a check engine light. Danny was awesome did the diagnostic and was able to fix the vacuum leak. Needed a new air pump. Oh my tire pressure sensor was on too Located the bad sensor for us. A couple of days later the engine light came back on. Now it was the air switch. Super awesome with the labor and the parts We didn't have to say anything Danny took cared of us. Honest and trustworthy very hard to find in a mechanic. I had contacted the Smog station last week I to know if he had time to do a smog check . The gentleman I spoke to told me I could come in anytime. When I got there he noticed my check engine light was on. So, he said I would have to come back so he could do a complete diagnostic on my car. So I said I would be back the following week on my day off. I went to another place to replace my worm tires. The check engine light went off. And stayed off. I went back today and let him know about the check engine light. He did the Smog check. And let me know I passed. Since I was there I asked if he had time to do an oil change. He said yes. He had me out of there in less than an hour. The gentleman that helped me is Danny. I told him I appreciated that I didn't have to make an appointment because I just recently lost my husband and my life is crazy right now. Do Not Take Your Car Here! My friend. Single parent with todler just had the worst experiance ever. They tried to charge her 550 dollars for a "storage" while she waited to hear from them with diognostic. Taking advantage of a young single Mom just aint cool! See letter below; "the mechanic then told me I had to pay the storage fee of 550 dollars or I couldn't take it off the lot. He never gave me a written contract or told me he was going to charge me. He said it's not in his policy to have a written statement for the customers. This feels so wrong"! read more

Well trained good mechanic you can just tell when you talk to the 30 something year old mechanic working there. He knows what he is talking about and is easy going and comes across honest and not condescending like some mechanics. Did a good job for my smog and told me to wait till gas cap miss hap went away on the cars computer to pass smog test. Waited the 60 miles and came back and boom it passes smog.
