I was hoping to just get it serviced, but because of the age and the freon it used, I was informed that they no longer carry that freon due to it was no longer produced and that I might find a company that has it. Found one that was able to give me 2 more years and very much appreciated the honesty the A COOL AIR gave. November 2025 it was time to change it out. Made the appointment, received the estimate after inspection, was informed of the rebates both for SMUD as well as Federal Tax Credits and gave the go ahead. They had it installed in 2 days' time, and let me tell you, this new system? Makes me come to terms that I never really had a real one to begin with!!! I was given options to which one would work best for my unit (I live in a condo) and wasn't swayed one way or the other. Chose one, and I am SO THANKFUL I did! These few days in the 90's so far have given comfortable and cool air throughout my home and including my bedroom which never cooled off or heated up to the rest of the house. I held off on giving a review because I wanted to make sure the cooling worked and it does!!!! But there are even more great qualities than this! 2025 in the spring we purchased a 2 mini split systems for our upstairs - it has a separate living area. An open area, 1 bedroom, and a full bathroom, and as you may know, the top floor gets the hot Sacramento County summer heat! We were so pleased with Absolute Comforts Heating and Air's outstanding service, installation, and Pricing that In the fall of 2025 we bought a central heat & air system from them for our downstairs. Their customer service & pricing far exceeded our expectations. Each experience has been OUTSTANDING! The office staff, field technicians, & owner wee wonderful to work with with. Now it is February 2026 and we have been using the systems for several months & love them! Like anything new we had a couple questions regarding the downstairs units ductwork & the fan speeds. I called hoping a technician could come look at it. I had been putting off the call because most companies would only provide phone answers or charge for a technician to come out. Absolute Comfort came at no charge! Some additional details of our experience is below. I am limited to my number of words so had to remove some paragraphs. From start to finish and top to bottom they are Wonderful!!!! The office staff, sales/ service technician & finishing with the installation technicians - they were all knowledgeable, personable, honest, straightforward and great at their jobs! Absolute Comfort provided quality work and installed great products at the best prices (we had 4 quotes in 2025 and several quotes over the years, since our upstairs addition was added in 2002) - theirs was the best prices by far - and no cutting corners or sacrifing other areas to provided those prices. Top products were installed right by qualified experienced technicians, & provided outstanding customer service by providing clear communication of the steps of the installation and answered questions as we asked them. Even our question months later In the past we had worked with contractors and several companies some were satisfactory, and a couple were awful. She asked me to wait and I could hear her talk about scheduling times she came back on the phone & said let's have our technician Jim come out and she asked when I would be available, and gave me a 1 hour appointment window! The day of the appointment Theresa called me the morning to let me know Jim was snowed in (he lives in the high foothills and there was a cold rain storm the night before - rain here, snow at his place. She apologized and said they really wanted to come today and asked if I was available in the afternoon James the service technician could come from 2-4 . I said yes. I was already home from work for this appointment - so yes this afternoon is Great! In the afternoon James texted to see if he could come earlier at 1:30. Yes again! When he arrived we talked about the duct work questions we had, then he put down a tarp explained that his ladder was went from all the rain, and the tarp would also keep the floor clean from attic insulation and dust. He went up in the attic and thoroughly checked the ductwork, plus took photos. Then showed them to us when he explained his findings and answered our questions. Turned out the duct work was doing great & we felt much better seeing the pictures and hearing what was going on. We asked about the system fan speeds which he answered and showed us on the system wall control. All at no charge! This exceptional service Absolute Comfort provided is why I am writing this updated review. We are sharing our knowledge and experience that we feel Absolute Comfort Heating and Air is the HVAC business to use. I called 6 HVAC companies, and 5 of the companies wanted to bill me twice. All HVAC Services was the exception. The contactor is right next to the capacitor and it's an additional 5 minutes of labor. It didn't make sense to me that other companies wanted to charge me separately for labor and do 2x the bill. Ricardo (aka as Ricky) was more reasonable and only charged me a prorated labor rate (based on my scenario, your situation might be different). Ricky also spent time explaining how to DIY for the future if I pursue that route. He provided a lot of helpful tips that YouTube doesn't cover. Overall, this is probably the best HVAC company you can contact for your needs. Ricky came out the same day and provided great rates among the compared to the other 5companies. He was also the most professional and seemed very passionate about his job.

We had ALL YEAR come to our home twice before to check out the system. We had water coming out the…read moresecondary drain line and wanted it checked out. The first time was late in 2022 and in early 2023 we had them come back out to check the drain situation. The water was still coming out the secondary drain after the second visit. On June 30 2023 was the third visit the employees name was Sean and after being in the attic for about 3 hours he came down and grabbed his PVC kit and proceeded to capped off the secondary back up drain. When he came down from the attic he said our system was an abortion and he needed to pick up and install a float valve in our secondary overflow drain. He called later that afternoon telling us he could come back on Saturday to install this part. This was going to cost $750.00. At this point we did not call him back due to the tone in his voice and the fact that the system was running. We also received advice from our neighbor that new the company and retired doing HVAC. At this point we had no idea that he capped the secondary drain. The capping of the secondary drain overflowed over the weekend, it overflowed in are attic causing extensive damaged and mold in the ceiling. I believe this was done in an attempt to get us to purchase a new system. After going back and forth with this company no resolution was reached. We spoke with Greg the owner on several occasions and his solution was to sent out 2 guys and have them lift one side of our system to place it more on an angle. This for the low price of $1,400.00 this was would solve the secondary drain issue. In the end I called a different HVAC company and had a new system installed and the mold and dry wall repaired. $9,440.00 for a new HVAC unit, also the repair cost in damages to our attic, hallway & mold damage.
