I originally found this place randomly on Yelp when I bought a used car. They did the inspection and were thorough, very kind and patiently answered all of my questions. And then I went back to have new struts put on the hood and the trunk. Louis and Keith were very kind, ordered the parts and did a great job. I travel back and forth between NYC and Harriman every week, and am grateful that I found a place in between that I like and trust. The boys at Speedway Automotive are TRUSTING and that goes along way when it comes to auto repair. Pricing: VERY competitive (I have a foreign car) Friendly Service: Every time. Explanations: They ALWAYS take the time and explain what is wrong along with avenues to fix. I found these guys one day while I was driving and heard something stuck in my tire. I pulled over into Speedway and found it was a nail. The boys immediately through my car on the lift, removed the nail but told me that the nail did not puncture the tire. THESE GUYS DIDNT CHARGE ME FOR THEIR TIME. That sold me. I have since brought my vehicles exclusively to them because I trust them. Another great thing they have done for me is to tell me (in one circumstance) that it would be best to bring my car to the dealer because it would be cheaper for me. They gave up their opportunity to make a buck because they obviously care about their clients. I hope these factual events help you make a decision. read more

I stumbled onto this shop after my 2000 Saab died 300 miles from my home while visiting my hopsitalized mom. These guys went above and beyond to help a perfect stranger. Example: After fixing my car, I ran into a different, unrelated problem and called them from the hosptial parking lot, 15 miles from the shop, on Friday the 13th, in the afternoon before the shop was closing for a week's vacation. They sent their mechanic to the hospital parking lot to try to get me back on the road. I could not believe it! Who does that? I have never received customer service like that EVER! These guys went so far out of their way for me, and were kind and caring. My old Saab is back on the road again, working perfectly. I'll never forget their kindness and willingness to help a complete stranger. That speaks volumes. Service just doesn't get any better than that. Thanks! read more

Woke up to a flat tire and called AAA. The AAA guy who came said he was sure it was a valve stem since when he checked the tire, he didn't see any nails or other problems so he filled my tire with air and suggested I go up the rode to Speedway Auto so I did. The guy there at Speedway had his guy look at it and came to tell me that I had a hole in my tire. I asked a few questions like "what could be done" but this guy apparently didn't give a darn if I became a customer or not. He said "you got a hole in your tire, you have to get a tire." I asked how much would a tire be, his reply "I don't know, could be 160.00," no suggestions, nothing ... except he could put a used tire on but he can't guarantee that and doesn't even know if the tire is worn. So then he says to me, "you can take it to Mavis." What the heck??? His customer service skills were that of a toothpick. So I took HIS SUGGESTION and went, not to Mavis but to someplace else. Guess what ... the someplace else took the tire off, and said there was NO HOLE in the tire. They even showed me and it just needed a valve stem. And that my friends is why I wouldn't recommend Roadway to anyone. read more
