Unfortunately it seemed getting the glass would take too long for the manufacturer (10-14 days!!!!) so we were instead routed to their service center in Dallas. Auto Glass - at no charge (!!!) - knocked out the remaining glass, cleaned out the trunk of all the loose glass shards and patched us up temporarily so we could drive the car. Over the years I have had six windshields replaced from Safelite and have been happy with the…read moreservice. However, now that I am trying to get the seventh windshield through them my experience has been absolutely horrible. I recently bought a 2026 outback and three days after I bought the car, a rock hit my windshield and it started to crack after contacting my insurance company and Safelite. I scheduled a replacement. I got an email and a text message from Safelite telling me that my windshield had not come in yet and they canceled the appointment about a week later I called and was told the windshield was in and they rescheduled me. I brought the vehicle in only to find out that the windshield was not there. I have tried calling them numerous times and they have this new AI scheduling thing. Will you never get to speak to a person I've had to drive over to their location clear across town and inquire about the windshield in person in order to get any response. The last time I was there I was given a card for one of the managers and told I could use that number to contact. I have tried calling this number several times and never gotten an answer or the courtesy of a returned. Phone call in spite of having left messages. To be clear, I am not upset with Safelite for the windshield not being available. Apparently Subaru has this windshield back ordered so this is not safe. Life's fault. What I do fault safely with is their new set up where you can't speak to anybody about your appointment. As a result, I have gone to have my windshield installed twice only to find out is the windshield is not there nor can I call and verify that it's there before I go and show up as I have already started the insurance claim with Safelite, I feel kind of stuck with them for this windshield replacement, but I will never use them again.

Sure, the service was efficient as suggested, but their business model is crooked and misleading. On the phone they said their diagnostic fee was $65, and if it was a simple issue with the power window slipping out of it's assembly, the fix would be quick and would apply against the diagnostic fee and cost nothing more. But if it's a regulator issue, she said, it would take longer. This language was rehearsed and deliberate and implied diagnostic fees applied toward repairs... Until they gave me a regulator diagnosis, with a repair cost of $315, and retained the diagnostic fee in top of that. Over $400 to fix my basic power window issue is lame enough, but crafting their misleading language to cover up an objectively money-grabbing business practice puts them on a par with the legendary charlatans of Brake Mastery. I will never go back here, nor recommend them to anyone else. Absolutely shameful.

Well, that is exactly what happened. When I returned to this location to have the crack addressed, they conveniently couldn't find any record of me having paid cash for a chip repair. I couldn't find my receipt so I was SOL. Looking back on this experience, I suspect the employee who did the chip repair for me picketed the cash I had paid. I can't think of another reason that there would be no record of me having gotten a repair done Edit: regardless of what the warranty on the chip repair was, you cannot actualize that if the business gaslights you about having serviced the vehicle in the first place.
