The place was falling behind with cleanliness as I was planning our wedding and got super busy. Decided we finally needed to hire cleaners to help. Found fantastic reviews on this place through Yelp of course and google. Booking was super easy and pricing is pretty transparent. Our first cleaning I was very excited for, and booked a deep cleaning. The first team we had - arrived later than they had said. That's okay. They got to cleaning and took maybe less than two hours for our 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. They did ask if everything looked okay before they left, and during the cleaning I did catch that the baseboards were not cleaned (this is part of the deep cleaning). She had explained that they do dust it but don't wipe - not sure if that's normal as I don't normally get cleaning done so that's fine I said ok. After they left, I did further inspection more closely and come to find that my dishes were taken out of the sink and not fully put back in, weren't washed (it was like a few utensils and maybe a bowl?). They did not wipe the countertop well at all, many crumbs left and they didn't move my small appliances around to catch it, the stove top was still very dirty, the cabinets were not wiped, corners were not vacuumed well, let's say I was highly disappointed for how much we paid. I reached out to Spekless to inform them of everything that was missed - sent pictures and explained what happened. They did refund the deep cleaning extra charge and I decided to give them another chance and requested a different team. My new team Walkiria is just Superb!!! They are SO thorough and clean SO well! They arrive on time and reorganize a lot of my stuff that I wouldn't know how to organize. I'm very happy I gave them another chance - the only con is that the pricing is definitely on the higher side when I ask my friends what they pay for theirs. read more

The cleaning team leader was very aggressive. She did a very superficial cleaning. They were ready to pack up in 1 hour and 20 minutes. They seemed to be in a hurry to move to their next cleaning assignment. As they were ready to leave, I identified that the carpet was not vacuumed properly. I could tell that nothing was moved in order to vacuum and there were crumbs/dirt on the carpet. The tables and windows were not wiped. Upon identifying the missed areas on the carpet, tables and windows, the cleaning lady became rude and aggressive to me. She started tossing and throwing things aggressively when she vacuumed. She was throwing stuff on the table. The whole cleaning experience was almost a traumatic event. I have never experienced anything like this before as I have using different cleaning services for several years. It is not worth the price and it is better to clean oneself than put up with unprofessionalism and rude behavior. read more

This was my first time using a home cleaning service in my life. I was really hesitant, because I am fairly frugal, and cleaning my home is something I can do myself and don't need to pay someone else to do. But, when those ads talked about "getting your time back" I really felt that. I would rather spend my time doing something else, so it was worth a try for me. I had a great experience with Spekless! Online booking was great and easy, and prices were reasonable. I got a 1bed 1 bath deep clean and paid about $200 with tip, and I did make sure to leave a generous tip. I do love the ability to leave a tip on the credit card after the service, so convenient! Sonia's Team cleaned my apartment. I can honestly say it was well worth the money, because I am fairly obsessive about how clean my apartment is, and I was impressed that it was actually cleaner than when I do it myself, no matter how long it takes me. And to be honest with you, my apartment really wasn't that dirty when they came to clean, so i wasn't sure how much of a difference I would see. I don't know if they use a special type of vacuum but I could tell immediately that the carpet was cleaner than when I use my robotic vacuum. Also, the bathroom. The bathroom shone. Which, as I said, I can never get it to do myself, My apartment is old and making an old bathroom sparkle has been hard for me, no matter how much elbow grease I use. The kitchen sink also shone, which I've also had a hard time achieving. I must echo the sentiments of other reviewers, the customer service is impeccable. They emailed me a coupon for a one time cleaning after I had booked and let me use it even though I'd already booked the cleaning. Answered my question via Yelp in minutes. Provided text and email updates. One day I called and before I got to speak to a person I hung up and decided to email instead (as I was at work and my lunch break was ending) and they called me back within seconds of me hanging up to say they missed my call. I requested a deep clean of my home while I was out of town recovering from a surgery. Since I live in a complex I had a lot of instructions for the cleaning crew to get in, use a parking pass, etc etc. They did it all seamlessly and I came back to a spotless home. I started to use Spekless Cleaning around this time last year. Their price is higher than market price but their customer service was so good that I was willing to pay a premium. Everything was great until the pandemic hit. Maids were overbooked so they started to skipping cleaning areas and didn't clean as careful as before. I paused for a few months hoping they will restore their operation quality. After I resumed their service, new maids were obviously not trained properly, and didn't do a good job, and I was overcharged a couple times due to miscommunication. They eventually corrected the charges and offered a re-clean for free, which was nice. But at that point, I just didn't feel like risk the energy for another service with uncertain qualities, and I was not sure if there will be more "miscommunications". I kept their service during the most scary days of the pandemic as I wanted to help keep them in business. (Work done on 7/2): Scheduling was great! They were very accommodating when I had to switch my date and came on a Saturday. I needed a move IN cleaning. I expressed to the scheduler that deep cleaning and sanitizing of well touched items (bathrooms, kitchen) was a must. Even prior to COVID, I would not feel comfortable moving my things into a home that hadn't been cleaned well. The previous owners had done a pretty good cleaning after moving out, but there were still things I could see that made it worth getting a deep cleaning, or at least that's what I thought I was paying for. They crew didn't bring in a lot to clean with. I left them in the house while I ran some errands. After 1.5 hours they called to say they were almost done. I was surprised but figured maybe they were still thorough. When I arrived they were mopping (more accurately, lightly floor wiping) the kitchen and entryway, though no where else in the house was wet so I'm not sure if that was a quick thing they decided to do when I walked in to look as if they had done the rest of the house. It also seemed to be just water being used. Still, at first glance things looked good, I thanked them and tipped them. In the next few days, prior to moving in anything, I started to spot things that shouldn't be there if even a basic cleaning had been done. So I started to take photos of what I found. - sticky spilled substances on bedroom floor (floors are hardwood or LVP) that I took a wet napkin to and it came up so it should have come up for the cleaners if they had cleaned the floor - large dust balls and cobwebs in the closet (I assume closets were not opened/cleaned at all) - dog food on top of floor vent - debris in cabinets - cobwebs in window corners and stair rails -substance on bathroom countertop -sticky handles and knobs within kitchen and throughout the house -cobwebs in the shower ceiling corners It is as if they looked at the house and figured it was clean enough already so they slightly wiped over some things. I let the scheduling team know about my issues and shared photos. They apologized and first offered to send "best team" to come out to reclean but we were moving in the next day so it was pointless. I wish I had at least been given a you're going to get a shitty team discount upfront. They did give me me $25 back from my $369+tip service. I also didn't appreciate that I was charged before the service took place when they said I wouldn't be charged until I approved the quality of service. They get 1 star for the great scheduling team and another star for removing most of the cobwebs in the unfinished laundry room when I didn't expect them to clean that. But I was still home when they did that. Maybe I should have stayed and I could have received 4 or 5 start service. They asked that I consider giving them another try, since I had mentioned I was going to be looking for a bi-monthly or monthly service. At this point, Spekless would have to come in at an awesome, we're sorry let us prove we can do better price for me to even consider using them again. read more

I also like that the company always follows up with me to ask me how the service was and to remind me of my next appointment. I retained Spekless to do biweekly cleanings of my 3 bedroom home. I pay extra for them to clean the basement and perform extra "pet cleaning" due to our dogs. I've worked with them for 8 months now and here's the good and bad (some very bad): The Good: The crews that arrive are pleasant and when they clean an area of our home, they do an okay job. Not a particularly great job but better than other services I've used. The Bad: - We've Been Ripped Off: Spekless charges us $195 per cleaning based on, among other things, the fact that our house is a 3-bedroom. Two of the three bedrooms were minimally used for several months while Spekless was coming every other week. During that time, I noticed that NOTHING in those rooms moved. Scraps of paper that were on the floor one week were still there after Spekless had been to the house to clean several times. The wripples in a throw blanket along the bottom of one of the beds remained exactly the same. A pillow that toppled over on another bed remained toppled over. A light stool that was in the middle of a carpet and would have to be moved to vacuum the carpet was in the exact same position week-to-week -- it had not shifted at all. So, before Spekless' next visit, I decided to test a theory that, despite charging us to clean 3 bedrooms, Spekless was only cleaning 1 of them (our master bedroom). We left dirt tracked onto one of the beds by the dog where he left it and specks of paper on the carpets, and took pictures to confirm the exact positioning of this dirt and debris before the Spekless crew arrived. Sure enough, after the Spekless team came, cleaned, and left -- the dirt and paper were still on the bed and carpet, in the exactly some positions without having shifted in the slightest. The other things that we noticed had not moved for months still had not moved and a rug was dusty to the touch right after Spekless had supposedly cleaned. Spekless was definitely charging us to clean 3 bedrooms but were only actually cleaning 1. After submitting all of this information to Spekless, they gave us a partial refund for one of the service visits, but not for the MONTHS that this had been going on. - They (Hopefully) Broke Our Security Sensors & Said Nothing: After one Spekless visit, our security company contacted us to say that the security sensors on one of our windows had been disabled. Sure enough, we found that they had been removed and left on the window sill tucked behind our blinds. At worst, the security system was deliberately disabled for a large window that could easily be entered from one of our patios. At best, the Spekless team broke the sensors and did not tell us. Spekless apologized when we brought this issue to its attention, but continued to send the same team to our house despite multiple requests that they not return. - Strange Use of Our Stuff: Spekless advertises that its crews use their own products, but we've definitely found that they've used both our cleaning and paper products to clean the house. One time, we found that our large bottle of Dawn dish soap that had about an inch of concentrated soap left in the bottom of it had been filled up with water. We asked Spekless about it and they said that the crew knocked the bottle over. We asked what that had to do with anything -- it was a squeeze bottle of concentrated liquid. It's not like anything would have poured out of it if the bottle had been knocked over. But, even if it did (it didn't) -- the crew's response was to fill it up with water to try to make it seem like it didn't happen? Because what, we wouldn't notice the difference between 1" of concentrated dish soap and 6" of sudsy water? We were just trying to figure out what happened and were rewarded with dishonest nonsense. - Scheduling: Most cleaning companies will give you a 2-hour arrival window. We've not been able to get one less than 4 hours from Spekless. So, if you're like us and need to be home when the cleaning crew arrives and does their work, it pretty much takes up your WHOLE day. We were informed while I was typing this that after waiting almost 4 hours for the Spekless team to arrive today, they would not be able to arrive and start cleaning for another 40 minutes (and even that was not guaranteed). We told Spekless to cancel the appointment at no charge to us since the team missed the 4-hour arrival window and we simply have to get on with the other things we need to get done today. A 4-hour arrival window is ample time for Spekless (any service provider, frankly) to figure out a way to get a crew to our house for a scheduled service. We've also asked Spekless to cancel our future appointments. Maybe we'll try them again if we cannot find anything better out there. We'll see. Right now, we're just too frustrated to think about them coming back to our home. read more

I was in contact with this company via text message and was given the following quotes: $232.50 for weekly standard cleaning and $332.50 for a monthly deep clean (both of which excluded the basement.  I called to schedule a cleaning within hours of receiving the quotes. While on the phone, I requested that vacuuming the basement (no need to do dusting, cleaning, etc.) be added to the monthly deep cleaning. For the add-on request of vacuuming, they wanted to charge me $150 more for 10-20 minutes of vacuuming. After much back and forth, the deep clean rate with the added vacuuming was changed to $357.50, which was amenable. The booking was scheduled, credit card information was provided to them and I received an email confirmation of the booking.  An hour later, they texted me to say that they were raising the price for the standard cleaning even though they were aware that the standard cleaning agreement hadn't changed and still excluded the basement. They said I had 2 pricing options for the standard cleaning: a flat fee of $277.50, or $110 per hour. They even tried to tell me the $110/hour was a bargain compared to the original flat fee- I was appalled and insulted by their at manipulation given that the house would likely take 3 hours to clean and would total $330 ($100 more than the original quote, for the same exact job). I explained that there should be no price changes after the price was already given to me in writing and the booking had already been confirmed. It still astonishes me that they would not honor their own price even if they supposedly "quoted in error due to a system glitch." The entire company lacks the professionalism and integrity that is expected with such positive reviews. This reprehensible experience demonstrates their lack of accountability and ethic. It is such a pity and a disappointment- a complete waste of 3 hours of texts and phone calls. This is not quality customer service and I hope my review will inspire internal improvements within the company and also save others from going through the same dismal experience I had. read more
