This makes my first visit! Love, love, love the location!!! I did not have a reservation, was able to walk in around 6 pm Saturday evening with a 15 minute wait. For my appetizer, I ordered the seared scallops ($19.00). The scallops were cooked to perfection and the glass noodles were freaking delicious!!! This is a must try in my opinion. I ordered Bibimbap bowl ($19.00) as my entree - apparently this is a popular dish; my waitress even recommended it. I was disappointed. It just needed something - a sauce maybe .. it just felt dry. The drink I ordered (Thai Tea - $10.00) wasn't on the menu. Happened to see others drinking an orange beverage and asked for what they had lol. FYI refills of the Thai Tea are not free. We did take out for the 2nd time and we were disappointed this visit. The first time was delicious. We placed a large order this time and most things were good and delicious. We had ordered two Bulgolgi bowls and one bulgolgi entree. We got three what seemed to be bowls. One of them had rice and then these other noodles that were not on the listed items on the menu. The other bowl had just rice and no noodles. Then we got one with no rice meat, egg and no veggies. The soups and appetizers were on point! For someone who has allergies, to put something in a bowl that is not listed can be tough and also not safe. read more

We went here in a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The was street parking. We were able to get seated pretty quickly. The place wasn't busy. The menu had a wide variety of options to choose from. I wanted to go here because they had duck. We ordered the Korean fried chicken and those were good they were nice and crispy and the sauce on them was great. He ordered the crispy duck with rice and vegetables and he said it was delicious. I ordered the bimbipap which had a variety of vegetables and beef with a runny egg on top. When I first starting eating it all of my vegetables on top were cold. I then mixed them into the rice and the rice was steaming hot. I asked for some extra sauce to stir in because I needed a little more flavor and heat. My meal was good. The portion for this was large. I was able to bring some home. I only give this place a 3 because of the location and because the waitress was nice and informative. The food is an average 3 (at best). Everything is so greasy and this place is like a fast food Asian dine in joint (one that I never have to eat at again). The music was so loud it was like a nightclub. I left with a headache I didn't arrive with. I asked them to turn down the music and they did. For the price I'd go somewhere else. We ordered 4-5 different things so it wasn't like we tried 2 things. Finally the bill came to us and it was wrong, . My husband and I went to Spice with another couple on a Saturday night. We arrived at 6:30 and it was an hr wait. We would have gone up to the rooftop bar, but it was closed for a private event. So, we went across the street to have a delicious cocktail from Corkscrew while we waited. An hr later, the text arrived that our table was ready. We were seated at an odd table in the back corner near between the elevator and the stairs. We jokingly asked it was the naughty-kid table since two of the chairs faced a wall and a third chair faced the elevator. Our candle was unlit, too. We're pretty easygoing so we just laughed it off. We ended up loving the spot. Although we still called it the naughty-kid table. Haha! We started with drinks. The guys ordered Sapporo and the ladies had pear martinis. The martinis were beautiful and tasted AMAZING! We ordered appetizers first - Crab Rangoon Dip, Spicy Tuna Rice Crisps, Szechuan Dumplings, and Pork Belly Buns. We wanted the Lao sausage, but they were out for the night. Bummer. Everyone shared the Apps and loved all of them. The other couple even tried the Spicy Tuna (they're first time) and went back for seconds. Win!! Entrees were Pad Thai x 2 (level 3 spice), Green Curry w/ shrimp, Pork Fried Rice w/added Basil, and Beef Pad See Yew. I had the Pad See Yew w/added Basil (my fave Thai noodle dish) and it was perfect in every way. Beef was succulent, noodles were tender, veggies still had a bit of "bite" to them, and the sauce was loaded with flavor w/out being too salty. The Pork Fried Rice was crazy delicious. The pork melted in my mouth and the rice was simple (without all sorts of veggies added in), which is exactly how I like it. My husband had the Pad Thai and really like it. I found it a tad too sweet, but I'm pretty fussy about Pad Thai. My friend raved about Curry. She loved the flavor, the eggplant, and the large shrimp. I also need to comment on the service. It was outstanding! Our server is originally from Thailand so she had some helpful insights and suggestions for us. She was also so friendly. Went last night and had a good experience and I felt food was much better than last year. Inside, the tables were very close together so glad we were able to go to rooftop patio (heaters there!). The spicy edamame has delicious flavors and almost a smoky nuance. Great portion too so would recommend to share. The sashimi tuna nachos are flavorful and yum (but slightly in high $$ for portions ). The Roti Canai which I think of more an Indian food had good flavor. I would eat the bread alone! The seared scallops were not seared! They were fine but I've had much better scallops so don't recommend. Spice Asian Kitchen is tucked into Kingsley Town Center among plenty of other restaurants, but this one really needs a visit. Sitting on the corner surrounded by parking, you're still probably going to have to hunt for a space because that's just Kingsley. However once you are inside, you'll forget all about that as you are engulfed in classy decor and kind service. I recently visited for lunch and the place was full but still managed to feel cozy. We ordered a couple of small plates including the KFC wings and Spicy tuna rice crisps, both of which were excellent and I highly recommend. The rice crisps especially were such a treat with the combination of textures and tastes all in one little bite that I'd come back just for those. For our meal, we had the Spice fried rice served with a side of yum yum sauce and the Pad See Yew with pork. Both of the dishes were delightful and so flavorful. They were generous for lunch portions as well. Honestly, this may be the best lunch I've had in a while. The quality and speed of service and the food were just spot on. Spice has been one of my favorites since their opening. Tonight was our first dining experience with them in nearly a year. I wanted to give them 5 stars because they always have been for us. They are also always our top recommendation to newbies. But today was a bit disappointing. Our experience was good and bad. Food: Sushi roll was underwhelming. And unfortunately this was my sons first sushi experience. Maybe the worst I've had. And with a $20 price tag, wow! Just take it off the menu! Bipimbap: flavor was wonderful and just as I remembered, but portion has been reduced dramatically from past. I would still order again. Big enough serving to satisfy. Steak Tataki: ordered well done for my son. Absolutely delicious! Very tender! Full of flavor and hearty portion! Served over veggie fried rice. He's a big eater but had leftovers. Service: Huge fail!! We waiting at least 10 mins for a drink and appetizer order to be taken. Sushi was served without chopsticks or condiments (soy sauce/wasabi). Had to ask for both and wait after sushi was served. Once entrees were delivered, another 20 mins passed before server checked in to see if we were satisfied. Then our check was dropped off that actually belonged to another table. I'd understand if they were busy, but we had a 4:30 reservation. All in all, I'm not giving up on Spice. Their service has declined, but their entrees still check all the marks on taste, quality, and presentation. Just take the sushi off the menu! It's not your forte! read more

My partner suggested we go out to eat someplace new (Spice) last Friday night. We hadn't been anywhere new since pre-pandemic. And we really haven't revisited many places in the past few months either. Having gotten used to staying at home, I didn't feel like "going out." Thankfully, I changed my mind. I easily made a reservation on Yelp and we drove the 30 minute drive from Charlotte to Fort Mill. I was amazed at the whole Kingsbury area that had sprouted. I loved the feel of it, and the look of Spice from the exterior. We checked in at the hostess stand and were brought to our table. Our table had a reserved sign on it with my name and reservation time on it. Wow! I haven't seen that in forever. Usually you make a reservation and you have to wait for the next available table. They actually reserved our table! I felt so special. We ordered two fancy cocktails as we perused the menu. My Phuket cocktail was delicious. (FYI - it's not pronounced like that.) We then ordered the Crab Rangoon dip for an appetizer. It was like destructed Crab Rangoons and it was oh-so-good. I could have eaten a giant bowl of it. I ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl for dinner. I haven't had that since my visit to Hawaii three years ago. It was delicious, too, although not as amazing as the ones I ate in Hawaii. LOL There was less tuna and smaller chunks. It was still good, though, and filling. My partner ordered the Drunken Noodles with shrimp and loved it. It was so good, he was drinking the leftover sauce with a spoon, which I've never seen him do. We chose this for Yelp Virtual International Supper Club Thai Edition. Some notes on how they're handing Covid-19: I was impressed before I got there. They let you order and pay over the phone and they do curbside pickup. Then I got there. Luckily I didn't have to go in because it looked packed inside. South Carolina has reopened and it looked like nothing had changed inside. Luckily the person that brought out my food had on a mask, but it makes me worried about how many people they interacted with inside before bringing me my food. Now onto the food. We got Red Curry (beef), Green Curry (beef), and Spicy Tuna Rice Crisps. Both curries were amazing. They worked really well for take out. I think I preferred the green curry, but both were great. I think the spicy tuna rice crisps had potential, but I don't think they worked well for takeout. I tried to reheat them, but that cooked the tuna. It did feel a little pricey. Each curry was $18 which feels like a lot for an entree. This feels like double the price you would see at a Thai restaurant. Overall, I really liked the food, but I probably won't be back until Covid-19 is no longer a concern. read more

I have heard many great things about Spice Asian Kitchen so I decided to take my family here for lunch to see if all the hype was true. First of all, the outside decor is excellent but the inside doesn't match with what you would think of Asian cuisine. Nonetheless, when we arrived we were quickly seated but because they were short staffed, it took the waitress a while to help us. To be fair, she was in training so I don't knock off any points for that. The menu is very diverse and really caters to a broad spectrum of dishes but that's where they start to lose me because they offer everything from Bulgogi Tacos, burgers, duck to salmon. So, the name Spice Asian Kitchen can be a little misleading. Because, when I think of Asian cuisines, I really don't expect to see anything else on the menu that doesn't pertain to Asian dishes, but that's my opinion. I ordered the Bulgogi Tacos and dumplings which were very good but the tacos didn't have much sauce on them so I had to ask for more sauce. The food is light, flavorful but not overpowering. When you finish eating, you don't feel full but you know that you've eaten which is nice. I would recommend Spice Asian Kitchen with the caveat that they are not strictly an Asian restaurant. Sad when you go to an Asian restaurant and the best thing on the menu is the burger. This was my second visit, the first being great! On this visit, which I talked others into going, was far from. Of the 4 of us, 2 order Pad Thai, 1 had Pad See Ew and 1 a burger. The Pad See ew was edible and had ok flavor but was like a soup. The pad Thai was far from traditional and was more like sweet and sour drenched noodles. Not edible after a few bites by either of those who ordered it. I am firm believer and letting the staff know if there is a problem with the food. After all, we as customers pay a lot of $$ to head out for a meal! For a meal that cost us over $120 per couple, I am truly disappointed that a manager did not visit our table regarding our feedback. After all, doesn't discussion help with improving the food and customer experience? We saw a manager walking around, no visit to our table or any other tables. The waitress was young and very sweet however when providing our comments and seeing that only a few bites had been taken by both who ordered the Pad Thai, the feedback was 'it really isn't everyone's cup of tea." Good thing we're slender. The steamed buns with crispy duck came with hard, overly toasted bao buns. What the heck? Literally, they were HARD! Quite honestly, I thought it was awful, the duck was not seasoned (desperately needed salt, so simple), the Hoisin sauce they put on was empty as well. The staff seems nice, that's the only good thing I can say. We left, without finishing out two appetizers. Just, unappealing. My husband and I went to Spice last night with two other couples. We have been going there since it opened, but they seem to be having problems. Food was average, I ordered salmon which was kind of dry and the mixed vegetables were good but cold. The biggest problem was the volume of the music. They had a speaker directly overhead, and the music was so loud we could hardly converse. We asked our waitress on multiple occasions to turn it down, which she did however, somebody would go right up behind her and crank it back up as loud maybe even louder. This one on our entire dining experience. I asked her if there was a manager on duty and she said yes. Whoever the manager was didn't come over, and they never resolved the problem. For the cost of the food and the ambience, it'll be a long time before I go back there. If their goal is to annoy their customers, they succeeded. read more

Sister wanted to come back for dinner so we made reservations! They were pretty packed for a Friday night but we were seated fairly fast for our reservation time. The hostess was nice to show our available seating because she saw that we had children, it was a high top near the elevator in the back that leads to the second floor. It was a little intimate and nice, so we went for it. It is currently restaurant week, so we got the special menu for $30 for dinner you get an one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. Its a pretty sweet deal! From that selected menu we got the Spicy Tuna Crisps to start, the Pad Thai with chicken, and Mango Mochi ice cream to finish. The tuna in the app was pretty spicy, so caution, but the crispy rice that holds it paired well with the spicy level. Great appetizer. The Pad Thai for me was just like any pad thai. But the Mango Mochi was paired with a raspberry sauce, which I could've done without, but loved the mochi dough! Off the menu... We tried the Strawberry Cucumber Collins and the Lychee Martini. And I need to know who makes the drinks there because they were so good & strong! For apps we ordered the Green Curry Mussels, the Kimchi Deviled Eggs, and the Szechuan Dumplings. The curry with the mussels was very different and actually a good combo if you life curry + mussels. The portion size was great for the price as well. The kimchi deviled eggs is a cold app, and has bacon on top. It actually tasted better for me without the bacon. And it's not a lot of kimchi, but just enough to get the flavor, so I appreciated that! The szechuan dumplings were steamed, and we asked for the sauce on the side for the kiddies. All great apps. They have KFC wings that I want to try! (Sister says it was really good.) For entree we tried the Spice Rice with pork (kiddies friendly). It was soooo flavorful for just regular rice. You can also get it in chicken. This was probably my favorite dish of the entire night even tho it was just rice, the flavoring was just ridiculous and I've had my fair share of rice). Then we also ate the Red Curry with fried tofu which came with rice. This curry came with green beans, bamboo shoots, and red bell peppers. So yummy! It just needed some avocado (lol). Everything was amazing! Great location, great vibes, amazing foods! So good I ordered the coconut cake to go, and ate it at home! It wasn't too coconut-y, but the coconut flakes were yummy. Spicy Asian Kitchen was a nice discovery in Fort Mill area! The restaurant is big, airy, modern decor, could use a few more details and personal touches. We were interested in their menu, Asian Fusion, Thai and Korean. We got seated fast, we stopped by right after Christmas, so the place was nice and festive. We tried some of their cocktails, I got the Strawberry Cucumber Collins, kinda of a gin and tonic with strawberries and cucumber added, nice touches. My husband had their Sugar Daddy, similar to a Mai Tai, tasty, sweet. My only complaint? I wish these cocktails were served in bigger glasses! We shared a Rost Pork Taco from their Small Plates menu (too bad it's just one), it's very nice, flavorful, tender meat and the mayo gave it a kick! For entrees, my husband enjoyed their Pad Thai and I got the Drunken Noodles, they added mushrooms and zucchini (never had that before in this dish) and I enjoyed their version. The Bibimpab bowl and the Kaw Pow were also hits in our group! Flavorful dishes, nice ambiance, our waitress was fine, a bit on auto-pilot, just coming too fast to get your order, before you looked at the menu, but no drama either. I had the seared scallops from the Small Plates section of the menu. They had the Kaw Pow with a side of white rice from the Wok section of the menu. Both were tasty and made with high quality food. There is a lovely atmosphere inside this Fort Mill location. It is located in the Kingsley Town Center complex off exit 85 from highway 77. We went on a Thursday evening. The complex was COMPLETELY PACKED and trying to find parking took 15 minutes of driving through the streets hoping someone would leave. That was a total bummer for sure. So we would go back earlier in the week and hopefully not run into the parking issue. read more

Modern Asian foodie place, amazing amount of menu choices in a very cool hip place. If you come when the weather is good opt for their covered outdoor dining. Great location, with a nice bar area, friendly staff, for a Sunday rainy night this place was happening! They had some great top shelf liquor options, so we got some really good cocktails, I had the Negroni, which was nice and smooth, always love the color. Other had the sake which I tried was also really easy drinking, great smooth not sweet. The lychee martini , little sweet for me but worked for who got it. Lots of wines and beers to choose from too. Since we were a bigger party we ordered a bunch of things and just shared. The best way in these kinda places then you get to try more! Out of spice level 1-5, we went with 4 on everything, we should have taken the 5 I think we wouldn't have needed the spice tray then! The roti canai usually my fave, was ok, the sauce was a bit sweet , usually everywhere it's more spicy. The roti was good though and crispy. Just a tad disappointed in this one as I was really looking forward to it. Spicy basil chicken, or Kaw pow as they call it, always a fave, great gingery basil sauce, lots of added veggies, ground chicken, this was excellent. The Szechuan scallops, my favorite of the night, again with lots of veggies and perfectly seared, light , flavorful, perfect. The mussels, also excellent, great Thai green curry sauce, nice meaty mussels, and they gave bread to soak up the sauce, highly recommend this one too! The Bulgolgi , with a fried egg on it, ok little dry, egg was over cooked, but the meat had really good spices and flavor, just looked dry too. Uncle Vee's noodles, flat noodles with veggies stir fried, good but not much going on as far as spices. Insane amounts of food and we pretty much wiped it out, so many more I'd love to come back and try.
