Absolute best Indian food in the valley. This has become my new go-to spot. The chicken is absolutely perfect. 10/10!

Flavor of India is one of those places that gets a lot right…read more We ordered the samosas, aloo paratha, garlic naan, chana masala, and a green salad. The samosas were absolutely to die for--perfectly crisp on the outside with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling. I'd come back just for those. The aloo paratha was another standout: buttery, comforting, and cooked beautifully. The garlic naan was soft, fresh, and exactly what you want alongside a good curry. The chana masala was enjoyable, but it felt like it was missing just a little something. I can't quite put my finger on it--maybe a touch more depth or spice? It was good, just not the most memorable version I've had. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is lovely. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff was genuinely friendly, and I especially appreciated the fun Indian music playing throughout the meal. It gave the whole experience a lively, welcoming vibe. Overall, I'd happily come back--especially for those samosas and the aloo paratha.

The assortment of food was great, and our server was amazing, taking care of us the entire time, even asking about refills on any specific dishes. My favorite was the chicken tikka masala surprisingly and not so much the curry that I got this on the refill. The rice portions were massive, and it was okay, definitely too much. The garlic naan was a tasty pairing, though. I also really enjoyed the Dosa and had to order a second one. If this is what dosa is, I may have a new addiction. The various dips around the plate were very tasty as well. It really was hard for me to decide which I liked the most since they were all great and had their own unique flavors. That Kheer, though, for dessert is a hard pass for me, though. The Kheer was too sweet; while I could see the direction, this was a "not for me" kind of dessert.

But on a Sunday, parking on the street was easy and plentiful. The dining room is elegantly decorated and bright. Service was impeccable. We were a party of 5 adults plus a baby in a stroller, and we were easily accommodated. (Though the restaurant is not accessible from the front, you can go around the back through the parking lot.) Our appetizers included potato and peas samosas and pakoras. The samosa were like mini knishes, big and stuffed with plenty of potatoes with little flavor. They were lacking the usual Indian spiciness. I honestly don't remember eating any peas. The pakoras were crunchy and satisfying. The naan included plain and onion and pleased us all. We had a mild chicken korma, a medium+ (spice level) lamb korma, a mixed grill tandoori, a medium lamb vindaloo, and a medium chicken tikki masala. We also shared a chicken biryani. The tandoori meat was seasoned and tender. The other entrees were OK, with the medium+ korma needing a little more spice. The lamb vindaloo had more of a curry color and flavor instead of the usual fiery red color. Nevertheless, it was delicious. The chicken biryani could have used more veggies and meat and more spices. Dinner with 6 entrees, 2 appetizers, 2 breads, and tax was about $175.

Even though I ordered the three item combo, I ended up just buying another fourth item because I liked it so much. The service is really nice and they gave great recs. All of the curries are unique. Everything is already freshly made when you arrive so it's grab and go. They do have seating and a wide range of drinks. Chicken tikka masala reminds me of tomato basil soup but with a bunch of different spices and chicken added to it and it's comforting because you can eat it with their fragrant rice! And It was the sweetest of the four options but I personally like sweet and savory so this was up there for me. The butter chicken was more savory and garlicky. The palak paneer was my favorite, I'd order that again for sure. The cheese melts in your mouth bc it's so soft. They blend the spinach completely which I really like not to have to chew my spinach. It's very creamy and rich! I wonder if they use coconut milk? The goat curry bone in was the spiciest and most savory of the four options but was a pleasant heat that comes later. They gave good portions of meat and honestly so worth it! The two or three item combos come with naan! They share a parking lot with other businesses in the small plaza. I highly recommend coming here for Indian food. I'm coming back for sure!

Although they didn't offer vegetable pakoras, they made some special at my request because they had onion bhaji (essentially "onion rings") on the menu. I was grateful for the accommodation. We ordered some naan (for my date- I am GF), classic chicken tikka masala and lamb saag with plain rice. We asked for no spice/1 for my dates sensitive palate. They were concerned that they had heard all Indian food was spicy and had avoided it for that. The chicken tikka masala had classic warm flavors and color, tender chunks of chicken in a creamy tomato sauce. It was an instant hit with my guest. The Lamb Saag was also well, but not over, seasoned. The meat was fork-tender. Even without the usual kick of spice I choose when ordering, it was flavorful and enjoyable. I would recommend this unglamorous location for the quality of the food. I will visit this place again. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive. They went the extra mile in their Customer Service that deserves recognition.

This is a godsend for night owls who want to dine late. There is a feeling that you are in a new version of "The Night Hawk" by Edward Hopper where single diners sit at a diner very late at night passively waiting for what no one knows. The other more important reason to come is the kind, quietly hospitable waiter who took my order. He will ask how piquant you want the curries. I chose a step up from mild, and for me, it had enough of a kick. Much of the food seems cooked to order so the food comes out hot and fresh off the stove. Assam is a state in Northeast India north of the nation of Bangladesh. It's famous for its Assam tea found even in English Breakfast and Irish Breakfast teas. 0) Chutney: a. Mint is puréed in a watery solution that is very subtle. b. Mango Is thick like a confiture/jam. Very pleasantly sweet with chopped fruit in a viscous, sugary liquid that may have a touch of vinegar to enliven the fruitiness. c) Cilantro-Mint: Watery purée with notes of green herbals. 1. Vegan Samosa: a very crisp wrapper perhaps made from a combination of rice & wheat flour contrasts against pleasantly starchy potato flavoured with a touch of aromatic Garam Masala spice blend. Coming out piping hot, great textual contrast between crispy & plush. Excellent must have Samosa. I originally ordered the beef Samosa, but they had run out, and I'm glad they did. 2) Pasanda Curry is made from finely ground nuts like possibly almonds, green herbs, curry powder, and perhaps yogurt for a creamy consistency. It had enough of a chile piquancy to heat up my tongue to stimulate the taste buds. Generous portion of shrimp added a sweet sea minerality and fibrous meatiness that went well. Bit of corn starch to thicken the smooth sauce. Rather subtle, sophisticated dish 3) Coconut Curry definitely has coconut milk fragrance, & flavour that thickens the curry. Also woody, distinct sweetness that seems to come from nutmeg. The chunks of lamb are well done, meaty with a chaw. No hint of that lamb gaminess. 4) Rogan Josh: Very refreshing, light curry with grilled onion, tomato, bell pepper, garlic that are flash sautéed to bring out dulcet tone of the vegetables. Shrimp with marine scented, fibrous meatiness kept this dish subtle and ethereal. This is the kind of delicate curry that is rarely found in Los Angeles. Definitely a must get if heavy handed cooking is to be avoided. 5) Methi Curry: Fenugreek scented stewed thick chunks of lamb braised in a dark brown, heavy sauce. Meat eaters will like this for its emphasized meaty textures. 6) Korma: Lightly, creamy, coconut milk, sweet, smooth curry with a hint of ginger, coriander, puréed cashew to add a "cashew butter" nuttiness. Slightly gamey lamb went well. 7) Yellow Curry: May have a bit of Garam Masala, turmeric for a touch of woody earthiness. Mild and semi sweet. Breast meat chicken. 8) Paswari Naan: Stuffed with a sweet paste of coconut, almond, and raisin baked in Naan flat bread. Great to dip pieces of this bread into Methi Curry gravy. Or Paswari can be eaten as a dessert with Cumin scented Chai. 1-7a) Basmati Rice accompanies all currys. Nutty with dry texture, lightly friable, al dente. This rice is made to go with savory, multi-spiced, complex South Asian food as a textural contrast and palate neutral relief from all the complex spice mixtures. Quiet late night dining along with meditative, musical South Asian chanting that is contemplative and introspective to facilitate mindfulness in order to truly appreciate the food to the fullest. 4+ stars

What I didn't like was how my boyfriend was treated and how long it took to get my mango lassi and the papadum appetizer and the rest of the vegetarian combo meal we ordered. We waited around 25 min and finally flagged down the server to ask about the mango lassi and the food. The table behind us that arrived some time after we did were given their papadum starter, drinks, and food before we were. What was more, another server came with our food and joked our kufta dish has chicken in it. Then he said he's kidding. This was not funny. I am, after all, vegetarian. The kuftas were too thick and hard to eat with naan. I did like the garlic basic naan. The rotis were too tough. We took the leftovers but neither of us actually wanted the food. I discarded all of it. This is most unlike us as we hate wasting food but the whole experience and food itself left a bad taste in my mouth. We came here very hungry after a long day. We browsed for restaurants open after 10pm on Sunday and finally came across this place. My boyfriend had come to visit me in Santa Clarita Valley from Downtown LA. He said he tried Clay Pit in Los Angeles and it was good. So we decided to come here and I drove us. In the end, we were met with a relatively unpleasant experience and mediocre food. We will not return here.
