But oh it hurts a lot to see two elderly people struggling to run this place on their own who make pickup confusing and yell at you if your order is wrong. I Ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala through their website, and was given Chicken Tikka. Waited 10 minutes to pay for my order, and then they ended up waving off my desert because they couldn't figure out how to use the tap to pay. I tipped the amount it was just incase they couldn't figure it out. I'm heartbroken cuz when I got home and realized the mistake- I called back and politely said I thought I ordered the chicken tikka masala and was met with yelling of "I asked you if you wanted tikka or masala you said tikka!" He never asked me such a thing. Even when I was trying to pay for the rice pudding, i mentioned it was chicken masala and they acted very confused like the needed to make me one and have me pay for it. This is so dissapointing considering I've been coming here since I moved in 2021. I've been a longtime customer and local but after being treated that way- I'll be going elsewhere. I'm not happy about the quality of the Chicken Tikka also. I'm really upset. Have reccomended this place to people for years and will no longer be coming here. Way too expensive for the amount of food you get. Got the tikka with rice and naan it was 8/10. Unfortunately there are many Indian food places with same quality and more quantity. The food took forever from when we ordered it despite there not being many others waiting for takeout. They did give us extra naan for the wait which was considerate. There was no location to actually sit down all they offer is takeout nor is it easy parking it's all street parking with meters. Overall the food was good but if it was cheaper or the portions larger that would make up for some of these inconveniences. read more

Heavenly. That's the best way to describe the chickpea masala I had from here. I was able to order through Royal Curry's website without issue and then went to pick up my meal about 15 minutes later. The staff here are super sweet! I waited a bit for them to finish up my order then took it home. Everything was packaged well and piping HOT when I opened it. The chickpea masala was INCREDIBLE!! One taste and I already told myself that I'd definitely return to Royal Curry Cafe. I ordered plain rice and plain naan with it. Both carbs were delicious and hearty, and flavorful even though they're mild flavors! I had the masala as medium for my preferred spice level. IMO it's more on the mild side but still has a delicious kick!! It's great because it adds a delicious amount of heat but without taking away the flavor of the sauce. I ordered this place multiple times weekly for at least a year. I was completely in love with the way they made their masala. It was always a perfect thickness and a perfect mix of sweet and spicy. About 3-6 months ago it was like a night and day change. The place I used to love has become extremely inconsistent and almost every time I order I find myself saying it may be my last. We usually get chicken tikka, chicken curry and tandoori wings (not pictured because we eat them so quick). I absolutely looooove the cheese naan, it has just the right amount of cheese and crispness per bite. My boyfriend is a garlic lover and he enjoys his garlic basil naan. They recently expanded the dining area and now have a whole dinning room. The dinning area is very intimate and I enjoy our date nights when we go to eat at royal curry. This food review is for vegetarian food only. Someone might have a different experience with non-veg food, but I highly doubt that. The flavors are bright, the naan is piping hot with perfect texture, and the entire staff is unfailingly friendly and thoughtful. I almost always go for the chicken korma, made medium spicy -- it's got a real kick without overwhelming the rich flavor of the korma. My kids adore the coconut shrimp appetizer (and of course rice pudding). My husband will sometimes get a side of masala sauce just to have for dipping over the next couple of days. I can't say enough about the quality of the food, or the people. This place is ridiculously bad. It used to be a better place a few years ago and the quality of the offerings has gone down. We tried the Paneer Tikka and Dal Makhni paired with Naan. The Tikka tasted like canned food. And the Dal was too salty. It seems like they reheat old food and serve that. The saag paneer is weirdly sweet. I asked what made it sweet and the waitress said heavy cream. Heavy cream isn't sweet so that is weird. It tastes like it has sugar in it. The bhindi (okra) is really good! The bread is ok. However the most annoying part is when the bill came, the prices for every entree were $2 higher then on the menu. I pointed this out and she said we are updating the menu?! My cousin, friend from out of town, and I ate there for lunch today. The food took about 25 minutes to come out. The chicken tika was so hard and very difficult to chew. It was so over cooked. The chicken korma lacked any flavor. My spicy lamb curry was so salty that it was so hard to finish it. The naan was ok, a bit hard/dry and the mango lassi tasted fine although I would aerve it chilled instead of with ice. This place was recomended to me by a friend as being amazing so I wonder if the issue is a certain cook working at 1:30pm. It looks family owned. I think the dad who brought out our food, as sweet as he was seemed very disoriented about who ordered what and where the food should go. Also, please play some music?
