Our experience here this year has always been lovely. This is where my kids choose to go to when we are celebrating their special occasions (birthdays, performances, etc ). Last night my kid did great in his jazz band performance and I wanted to celebrate over a dinner of his choice.... Because food is our love language! After a long day at school, practice and performance, he was craving Thailicious. I'll never complain because I love their food. We haven't been here in about a month and I noticed two younger waitresses. They were super polite and one expressed Thai mannerisms (which as an Asian, I'm grateful for). I noticed they were absolutely polite and attentive to the other customers in the restaurant as well. Great service! This time we both ordered their Bangkok Boat Beef Noodle Soup (Kuay Tiew Rua) which is a Thai style noodle dish with strong flavors. It contains both pork and beef, Bean sprout, Scallion, Basil as well as Dark soy sauce, in a Brown herb broth. I got mine medium for heat and my husband got his hot! Mine was pretty spicy!! If you like spicy, Thailicious is the place. I've only ordered mild dishes, which are similar to medium or hot at other restaurants. My husband likes spicy foods and he gets medium. If you don't handle heat well, they have a "no spice" option. I've never been to Thailand to know what is authentic, but it is some of the most flavorful Thai food I've had in Charleston. I've ordered the green curry with tofu twice. On my second trip, I got additional vegetables, which was well worth the $2 upcharge. My husband usually gets the red curry with chicken, but recently he got a noodle dish that he enjoyed. The restaurant has sister locations in Goose Creek and North Charleston, but we have only tried the West Ashley/Magwood Drive one. The reason for four stars is because portions are small. My husband's order of wings was $12 for six very small wings that were a little dry. If you don't pay for additional vegetables/protein, I find the curry to be a bit too broth-heavy. Thailicious is a bit pricey for takeout, but I always have a fully belly and full heart after finishing a meal. read more

The coconut chicken soup heat came from red pepper chili flakes instead of Thai bird chilies. There are only a couple of good Thai places in the Charleston area, and I'm glad to say that Thailicious has been added to the list. Along with the traditional Thai dishes that you know and love (panang and massaman curries, pad see ew and pad kee mao noodles, etc.) they also have hot pot! As far as I know, this is the first hot pot place in Charleston so I'm pumped about that. However this visit I set out for the Thai food so I had just that and ordered a very spicy and delicious panang curry. The flavor was solid and they definitely made it true to Thai taste. It was very spicy (which I love), so unless you're a spicy food lover like me, I would stick to medium which tastes awesome and still has a decent kick to it. I haven't tried a lot here yet but I'm pleasantly surprised by the panang so I'm confident the other dishes will be good too. And I'm looking forward to going back for the hot pot! read more

Thai Chicken Noodle soup has always been our go too when we have stuffy heads, so I stopped in to pick some up ( and a few other delicious items off the menu). I ordered the chicken noddle soup spicy hot. The Thai basil on top finished off the amazing flavors or this spicy soup...and it did the trick and cleared up his sinuses! I ordered the pad Thai with chicken, which was amazing. The sauce was light and not over powering which made this dish even better because you could taste all the delicious flavors. The most deliciously Authentic Thai food I've had since Thailand. I've worked in Thailand on 4 occasions, spending 3 to 6 months at a time in various parts of the country over the years. Thailicious brought back all of those great food memories. Also, whenever you see "Boat Noodles" and "Duck Noodles" on a Thai menu, it usually means it's more than just you're average Americanized Thai menu as you rarely see those dishes outside of Thailand. So far I tried: Boat Noodles - 100% Authentic, like sitting in a small shop in Krabi which is where I first tried them. Duck Noodles - Like being in Bangkok. Red Chicken Curry - Excellent!! Tom Yum Goong (shrimp soup) - this is how I initially judge every Thai restaurant. Excellent! Rocket Shrimp Appetizer - Excellent with authentic sweet chilli sauce. The only thing I didn't ask for (yet) is if they make their own Prick Nam Pla sauce. Will save that for next time. There's a satisfying amount of meat in every dish. They've also recently expanded their menu!!! I recommend the Thai dumplings. But beware of the level of spice here! You may want to ask for less spice because their scale of spice is different than American standards. I had an early dinner so I was the only costumer at Thailicious in West Ashley at 5 pm and the lady inside the restaurant greeted me and told me I can pick my seat anywhere. I started with appetizers, curry poppers. Curry poppers is Fried Thai dumplings stuffed with ground chicken and potatoes with yellow curry and served with Thai sweet and sour sauce. I really like this appetizer and if you come here you need to try the curry poppers! For my meal, I ordered the pad woo sen with tofu. It's stir fried Crystal Noodles with Egg, Pineapples, and Vegetables. The first initial smell ( I assumed it was fish sauce and oysters sauce) was strong but once I take a first bite I didn't even notice it. The noodle was pretty good and I really like the amount of veggies and tofu in it. Pretty good dish. I really like my dinner and the attentiveness of my server. We got takeout from here recently and it was delicious! I got the Mussaman Curry with a medium spice level. I thought I could handle the heat, but next time I will be getting mild. It was super flavorful, but right on the edge of enjoyment and pain haha. Again, it had great flavor, but the reason this is 4 stars is because of the portion sizes. There were about 4 shrimp in my dish and since I paid extra for it, I expected more. My fiancé got the Thai teriyaki bowl and loved it.
