    Butter naan perfectly crispy
    Lauren D.

My husband wanted a five star dinner to close out our trip to Great Wolf and our family of 4 were blown away! I am so sad we are not closer as this Indian food is some of the top we have ever eaten. Butter naan out of the gates had the perfect softness with a touch of crisp on the bottom, slight shimmery sheen of butter (ordered 2 servings and could have eaten a 3rd). Mango chutney is a must for me - could have been a slightly bigger portion but delish, along with the tamarind and coconut chutneys that are part of the meal. We ordered Asian chili calamari and it was perfectly crisp and batter was egg free (another household allergy). Butter chicken was a winner for my younger one - contender for our favorite place in Jersey. If you have a nut allergy, note that they may use nuts in some of their spice blends and will let you know that up front. That said, my allergic child ordered chicken tandoori and she also said it earned top Tandoori status. My husband ordered chicken Chettinand and had no hesitation eating leftovers the next day (even as a vegetarian, the reheat even smelled amazing!). My favorite Navratan korma of all time is served here - other restaurants load up on tons of cream or have a bad ratio of veg to sauce. The hint of fresh cardamom in the spices and perfect balance of cream in the sauce (not too much) - plus the right veg mixture just made this a favorite Indian dish of all time. I think I had 3 spoonfuls left and insisted on putting it in a to-go box. Super super food and so glad we found this gem (and it's fresh ambiance!) during our travels. Ps - don't forget the mango lassi!

missed the rice delivery and refuse to send it again or refund. Very bad service after paying 16$ + tips via uber eats to get food

Very bad service l. We ordered via uber eats and the rice was missing. They refused to send the rice or refund. 16$ service fee + delivery fee and such bad service. I don't recommend ordering from them

Highly Recommended: 4 1/2- 5 Stars. We've enjoyed Spice Route for several years. Every one of the Indian & Pan-Asian dishes we have tried have been beautifully prepared and delicious. Service is friendly, informative and helpful. The level of heat in each dish can almost always be tailored to your taste while the rich flavors are nicely maintained. Slice Route is one of the best restaurants in Northeast PA and anywhere. You will not be disappointed.

Lemongrass soup, Lamb Tikka Masala, Butter Naan

The reviews brought me here! I started with the Lemongrass soup which was flavorful and spicy. I had the Lamb Tikka Masala for my main course with the butter naan. The lamb was cooked just right and the meat was nice and tender. The butter naan didn't stand a chance lol! Loved it all and left full!

Went to this restaurant with curiosity and left with disappointment. Food: - The food was under-seasoned but very spicy. The Goat Curry had spice but not much curry. The fried rice was ordered with specific requirements but was served with none of the requested modifications. A dessert was ordered but never provided. - Some of the meat was cooked well. - The rice was cooked well. Service: - The servers were dismissive and did not listen to orders. Quality: - The ambiance was fine but much of the decor felt cheap - There were several instances of filth on utensils and drink cans. - They served drinks in cans instead of pouring them into cups. Overall: - The recipes are not authentic and taste nothing like they should. - This was a tacky experience.

After a wonderful day of outdoor fun and National Parks, it was time for some Asian comfort food; and we hit the jackpot with Spice Route. Spice Route USA is a fusion restaurant serving your favorite Indian, Chinese, and Thai dishes. Great Service Yummy Food Good Prices Nice Atmosphere Tonight's menu choices include the following: * Cauliflower Manchurian * sweet corn soup * whole fried red snapper with chilly * chicken tikka masala * garlic naan * palak paneer * Mango Lassi Check them out. Yum!

My boyfriend wanted Indian takeout. Forgot to take before pic here's the after! It is Friday night. Flavors were good! We were both satisfied.

I found the space clean, thoughtfully designed, and with a cozy cafe feel that made it worth lingering in rather than just stopping through. I ordered the combo set, which comes with miso soup, two onigiri, and a set of sides that included tamago. The karaage onigiri is the move here. The filling was satisfying and the flavors were well balanced in a way that made it easy to see why it keeps coming up as a favorite. Individual onigiri are priced in the four to six dollar range, which makes ordering a few to try different fillings a low risk decision. The miso soup that came with the combo was comforting and rounded out the meal without feeling like an afterthought. The unagi onigiri in the combo was where I would pump the brakes. It was good, though I felt it was a little heavier on the rice. The mentaiko and mayo is another strong option if you want something with a bit more richness, and the tuna yuzu is worth keeping in mind for a lighter, brighter pick. Kinoko with five types of Japanese mushroom and scallion is a solid choice if you want something on the vegetarian side that does not feel like a compromise. The cafe fills up and popular fillings sell out, so arriving earlier gives you the best shot at getting your first choice across the board.

The karage chicken and mushroom are probably my favorites. When asked which ones had the most filling they said the "bombs" which are more fish based. I just wish all of them had more balance between filling to rice ratio. Each ball is a solid size and because they run between $2.50-5, you feel pretty good about it. But you'll likely want to sample a few. They don't give soy sauce anymore which isn't a big loss since it's not the good kind anyway. They have also adjusted prices higher because of those darn tariffs and no more pennies (RIP). There's general seating in the Mitsuwa food court. Weekends are not a fun time here unless you get there early especially when they have events and samples.

Their two locations in the NYC metro area are inside Mitsuwa Market in Edgewater, NJ and in Katagiri Japanese Grocery close to Grand Central in Midtown Manhattan. The location inside Mitsuwa is essentially a smallish stand, when you enter is directly to the back of the store, within the food court section. There's a counter with an assortment of onigiri in a display case, this location is bigger and has a little more variety than the midtown location, though both are geared towards take out since the onigiri come wrapped in plastic and are easily transported in a paper bag. Like most have mentioned before, the nori (dried seaweed) wrapper comes wrapped around the rice ball, so it's moist and not crispy, and the rice could use a little flavor (though paired with fillings it's ok). I'll say the positives are that the size of the rice balls are quite large for the price, it's hard to find this value in Manhattan these days. The fillings are also decently generous compared to some other places. On my most recent visit I got the Bomb $4.50 (cooked salmon, spicy tuna and kombu) and a Cod Roe $2.80 for takeout and both were good for lunch the next day. My other favorites are regular kombu (marinated cooked seaweed), shiso & plum, and chicken karaage.
