Fell way below my expectations. The Chicken Kebob was bland and tasted rather fishy. Weird. The wrap was ok. Will not be returning.

Rumi isn't a restaurant--it's a teleportation device disguised as a dining room. One minute you're…read morejust hungry, the next you're wondering if you should start learning the language and cancel your other dinner plans for the rest of your life. Let's start strong: the baba ganoush was impeccable. Not "pretty good," not "I'd order it again"--impeccable. Creamy, smoky, confidently delicious, like it knew it was the best thing on the table and didn't need to brag. The lamb kabobs then showed up and completely stole the spotlight: tender, perfectly seasoned, and basically melting on contact. And yes, the white sauce comes on the side, which is ideal because it's so good you'll want to dip everything into it--kabobs, bread, possibly your dignity. The mango drink? Absolutely unhinged in the best way. One sip and I forgot what I ordered, where I parked, and what my personality was before this moment. "To die for" feels accurate, but also misleading because you'll want to stay alive long enough to order a second one. And then there's the service. I didn't feel like a customer--I felt like I'd been adopted. We were treated like family, friends, and students all at once, getting an enthusiastic, genuinely fascinating education about the food while being cared for like honored guests. Dining at Rumi feels like stepping into another country where the food is better, the people are warmer, and everyone is just thrilled you showed up. Come hungry. Leave full, happy, and slightly confused about why all restaurants aren't like this.

I placed an…read moreonline order for pickup and as I arrive I'm waiting for 5 minutes at the counter while the worker is on his phone talking to his friends. He finally greets me and asks what I ordered, he then goes to grab my food (which isn't even packed yet) and continues to stay on the phone for another couple minutes in front of me as he slowlyyy packs the food. He then forgets to include one rice and two naans that I paid for. I tell him he forgot the items and he then goes BACK on the phone for another couple minutes before trying to put the items in, which at this point I was too frustrated and didn't want to make a scene so I just left. Safe to say I won't be coming back especially if I have to wait 10 minutes to pick up an online order that's already prepared.

I ordered the chicken kabab and my husband had the lamb shank. For dessert, we ordered the oven baked rice pudding. It is served cold, however. This is a must visit when you're in town! They also sell other Turkish products like coffee, teas, doganay (spicy, fermented carrot juice), assortment of juices and Turkish delight. Thank you so much for sharing your wondering food with us.

It's a large dining area and nicely decorated with Turkish flair. The blues/rock music playing in the background was not what you would expect, but very enjoyable. The service was good, but it did take a while to get the bill when leaving. My lentil soup was good and perfect for the cold evening. I had the Karnijarick which is eggplant stuffed with ground lamb bathed in a tomato-based sauce. Flavor was good and not oversalted, but light on spices. It was served with white rice and grilled veggies. My wife had the lamb shank which was a bit tough and too light on seasoning. The salad was good. My favorite was the naan type bread serves with the meals. Overall, enjoyable, but not a great value.

The food before was good, new owners have improved the dishes even more. Menu is smaller, but all the important dishes are here. Had the app combo with a pick three, baba ghanoush, cheese rolls and a pepper walnut dip I won't attempt to spell, lol. All were solid, baba was great. They use the same style pita as before in a plastic bag. Wife ordered the kebab sampler, I did the lamb kebab. Kebabs done perfectly, lamb one was really tender and her chicken one was especially flavorful. Served with a decent amount of pilaf and sides to pick from. Don't forget to order the garlic sauce for the Kebabs, killer. Quite a few new desserts to pick from. I had the one with fried bread in a syrup covered with a type of thick cream and pistachios, wife had another that was kind of a custard with some type of shredded wheat on top. Both awesome, big difference.vover the baklava we usually get. Finished off with Turkish coffee (not on menu). The whole experience was great, an owner waited the table, great guy. Baba was so good, had to get a take out order, lol. IMO, the restaurant is better than before.
