    Buffet order once reheated
    Mirna L.

Went in here to grab lunch/dinner for later during my trip. The girl was nice and smiling to greet me and I asked for a take out order of their lunch buffet. She gave me a container and I went and picked the items myself. I went for the chicken biryani first, topped it with chicken curry, a side of butter chicken and another side of some peas I've never seen before. I was disappointed they didn't have and paneer as that is one of my favorite Indian dish. I ate this food a couple of hours later, reheated, and I must say, it was amazing! So much flavor. The biryani was by far the best. I mixed everything with it so I think no matter what I mixed it with, made it amazing. I will be back when in the area again.

For Lunch Buffet..., this place is a hit. I was in and out, so didn't get much chance to rate their service. On Point lunch, everything is served in smaller quantity to choose from, so the food remains really fresh and hot. Definitely a must return.

    The buffet area.

The food is excellent very flavorful, I never found one thing I didn't like! It was very authentic and that is exactly what I was looking for. The service was great and the inside is very clean and organized. I did the buffet and got a bunch of stuff and it was all great. I recommend!

A cheap rubber vase and crusty salt shaker indicative of poor quality.

One of the worst Indian lunch, buffets, I've ever been to. First off if you wait at the door to be seated, people will blow by you and go right back to the Buffet. There is no service culture here. The people who ate for lunch often took their dirty plates back to the Buffay. No one corrected them. When I first arrive, not a single dish was filled. This was 2 PM and they close at 3:30 PM. No excuses. I am vegetarian, and one of the offerings was rice, and the second offering was rice with vegetables, which were just a few peas and carrots. 'Cabbage pakoras' were not ever filled the entire time I was there. Remember cabbage is a very inexpensive vegetable. They finally refilled the egg plant which was swimming in oil and was completely tasteless. The naan bread is left on the steamer and soggy. The worst thing was a Ramen noodles dish made with a cheap packet of Ramen and a few onions and carrots. What on earth was that doing on an Indian buffet? People seem to be eating a lot of butter chicken. Since I don't eat meat, which is common in Indian culture, I filled up on basmati rice for my 1299+ tip lunch buffet. I will never go here again. Even the salt shakers were empty and crusted. A rubber vase was suction to the table, and very unappetizing.

    Messy Hostess desk

Don't go here. They are disorganized and overpriced. I ordered and paid through Grubhub and arrived on time. They never got my order because they forgot to turn on their iPad during lunch time. The hostess desk is messy and disorganized as well. Their lack of care for their technology and facility leads me to believe they will not care about my food or cleanliness of their food prep area As for the food, it tasted like it was made yesterday and reheated. The sauce was barely warm

    Yummy lunch

I had already began eating and almost forgot to snap a picture. The butter chicken was yummy but I added some chili chicken to it for a little spice. Everything was great and we'll definitely stop back by when we're in town.

We discovered this Indian restaurant while dining at the Chinese buffet restaurant nearby. So today my dining mate and I had lunch there. We were greeted by friendly staff. The restaurant is clean and neat. The buffet has some great buffet dishes with choices of goat curry, several chicken dishes, vegetarian selections to include rice and vegetable dishes, soup, salad, naan bread, a yummy mango custard and carrot halwa for dessert plus masala tea. Of course there is a regular menu too. The buffet for lunch about $10 per person. Food was attractive appearing, some quite spicy, all heated well ane plenty to choose from Overall we enjoyed everything and would return sgain.

Basmati rice, noodles, chicken tikka masala, and goodness knows what else.

Stopped by at 1pm, closed today, why?

I can't be sure, but there may be a total of two people running this place, and if that's the case, either one of them being out for any reason would understandably close the doors for that day.

Is the buffet available all day... lunch and dinner or only available during a certain time?

Their lunch buffet is Tuesday to Sunday 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM. They're closed on Mondays.

Calling it a meal would be an insult to actual food. The sweet tea? A sad, watered-down mess that clearly gave up on life halfway through being poured. Let's talk about the black mold--yes, black mold--on the ceilings and in the women's restroom. That's not just gross, it's a full-blown health hazard. The entire building feels like it hasn't seen a cleaning crew--or basic maintenance--since the early 2000s. The windows are caked in filth, and the air has that special "what died in here?" aroma. We were charged $140 for six people to sit in what felt like a biohazard zone and nibble on food so repulsive it should be illegal to serve. We left after 10 minutes because honestly, it felt like our immune systems were under attack just being there. My sister started having stomach pains within five minutes of leaving. I'm not saying the food caused it--but I'm also not not saying that. This place needs to be shut down, fumigated, and bulldozed. I will absolutely be calling the town, the health department, and anyone else who will listen. Do everyone a favor and close this dump before someone ends up in the hospital.

But if you're looking for something milder, they're great at that, too. I think the large menu has been updated since my last visit. The first few pages include dishes that I would describe as "soul food." There's frog, beef tripe and pork intestine-- you get the picture. I never really got into that. On this visit, my friend and I picked Stir Fried Spicy Squid, Crispy Chicken with Crunchy Red Pepper and Bok Choy with Garlic. We were hungry. The veggies came out of the kitchen almost immediately. Crazy fast. We were grateful. The other two dishes took a bit more time. When you see all of the ingredients in those dishes and how finely sliced they are, it's no wonder. I loved the chicken dish. The chicken was a little crunchy but the red peppers were super crunchy. It was a bit spicy but deliciously so. I liked the peanuts and what looked like slivers of jalapeño peppers, too. The squid was also great. Here, I think they used more jalapeño peppers and spices. There was more heat to this dish but it was deceptive. The more I ate, the more I could gradually feel the burn. By the time we were full, I could feel my face starting to sweat a little. That was fun. The restaurant is clean and attractive with a remarkable amount of seating. The back portion is reserved for hot pots which I have yet to try there. The staff is friendly, helpful and bilingual. They will make suggestions if you'd like. This restaurant generally gets a bit noisy because it's where large Chinese families gather when they want to go on the town. That's a good thing. There's also a large screen tv that plays cooking shows. With so much going on, the customers seemed pretty happy.

Every restaurant has a day here and there where they just don't meet expectations, this was one of them. I did express my disappointment to the main server, who confirmed they were short staffed and apologized. Our main sever and all the gauchos were very good and friendly. The main server was on top of everything, but the gaucho service was extremely slow. My wife and son barely ate much meat due to the slow service. I ate more, but waited and waited for several cuts, which made it to our table not nearly enough. I usually finish off with the Picanha, but after asking specifically for this cut, waiting nearly 30 minutes with my family sitting impatiently, I threw in the towel and flipped my card to red and asked for the check. The steaks and meats that came out were excellent, with maybe 1 cut being a little over cooked. I know we are in a time where finding, hiring and retaining quality employees is challenging, but it's still disappointing when you pay good money for a higher end restaurant and leave disappointed. Will I go back? Of course, it is Texas de Brazil. I have dined at all 5 of their restaurants in NY and Albany is usually good, but this isn't my first disappointment at the Albany location. It makes me second guess making the trek there, versus finding a steakhouse closer to me.

In a nutshell, this spot is decent. I'm not really interested in any kind of gamey meats and don't eat a lot of meat in general, but once in a while is fine. I didn't find the selections to be worthy of asking for seconds or even finishing some of the firsts. Several pieces of different meat options were on the dry side and overall just didn't do it for me. I will say that the single slice of filet mignon that I had was excellent. The salad bar is the star here. Oddly enough, one of my favorite things was the pineapple carpaccio - thinly sliced pineapple in what seemed to be a brown sugar syrup situation. They had a lovely smoked salmon and so many other salads to choose from that it was almost overwhelming. The spot that I went to in the past had sushi grade raw salmon and I was hoping to find that here (as mentioned, it was smoked). Our friends that really enjoy meat options noticed that several different choices were never offered to our table. Overall not bad...but it wasn't my favorite and quite sure I won't rush back any time soon.

I'll make the diplomatic assumption that changing the name is not top priority here. If that means their effort is going into the food they serve here, that is perfectly fine with me, because I did enjoy their lunch buffet. The buffet is is almost completely self-serve, and by that I mean everything is on the buffet tables, including plates, silverware, and paper napkins. The staff will bring you beverages and clear the table very promptly. The atmosphere is simple and straightforward, with pleasant music and no TVs. Today's buffet had some items I don't always see, such as papadam, and naan is on the buffet. The pakoras option was one I'd not seen elsewhere, cabbage. It was delicious, quite addicting, but also quite filling. There were several vegetarian options, 3 types of rice, 3 types of chicken, and a mutton entree. The spice level was ever so slightly higher than what I've had for some similar options at other restaurants in the area, which I also liked. There were multiple dessert entrees, including a vanilla custard/pudding, and a creamy kheer with a subtle and pleasant flavor of cinnamon. The buffet price, just over $17 for 1 person, is reasonable for the food you are offered and competitive with the other similar restaurants in the area. I'm glad to have so many buffet options within a few miles of my home; the difficult part is "Which one do I visit today?"
