My second visit with a friend unfortunately didn't deliver the same quality, being a disappointment. While the service and decor remain the same, this time around the scones were small, cold and overbaked, the butter and jam inferior from what we had last time, and the sandwich bread was slightly dry, the filling quite bland. It was unremarkable and completely forgettable of an experience. My friend selected the Afternoon Tea which costs $50 for 2 scones, 2 teas and "4 sandwiches". The "4 sandwiches" are actually 4 quarters, so it's actually one sandwich. She felt a bit ripped off and I have to agree with her. This was not a $50 experience. The tea was fine. There was no music playing. Something was definitely missing today. The atmosphere and food were lacking, so I felt obligated to change my review. The quality is unfortunately not consistent. Maybe the kitchen was having a bad day? I took her to Pecantown a couple of blocks down the street for some scones after this disappointing experience. The coffee shop did not disappoint, and it redeemed the day for her. It's just sad that I had to even do this.

I've really been impressed by teas I've had and bought here. As a place to stop for tea and a bite - not my favorite. I did the afternoon tea with a friend earlier this year and the scones, and food served with the tea was just not great. The other thing we found very strange was their afternoon tea service only included ONE pot of tea for TWO people. Every other afternoon tea I've gone to in many states and in more than one country, each person gets to choose their tea flavor and has their own pot of tea. We had to pay extra to get that 2nd flavor/ pot of tea to enjoy. Strange. The class I took with a group of friends was also a bit strange, I was expecting a lot more hands on experience and more tea tasting (there was some tea tasting) for the price. Honestly, this could be a free presentation - it was a slide deck talking about tea. I will certainly be back for tea! And that is what it's all about, after all. SO glad to have another source to shop lovely teas in the area.

And seems like they're upgrading as time goes on. More teacup selections, they added some limited addition holiday flavors, they've got classes going on, and they even added coffee to their menu (although definitely not the main focal point of the store, just there as an option if you want it!) Owners are the nicest people ever and take such good care of you. If you visit often, they'll even remember you and hold conversations with you as well :) it's a lovely experience all around. Go support them! They're my favorite small business & they are slowly gaining traction, but as we all know, especially in this economy, small businesses need all the love they can get! Even as much as I'd love to gate keep this place all to myself because of how much I love it, that's just me being selfish haha. Go try them and spread the word :)

The Austin English Tea Company brings all of the aesthetics, ambiance, and flavors you'd expect in a proper British tea room. Spent a lovely Sunday Funday morning with friends celebrating Galentine's Day (albeit a day later) with fresh and yummy tea sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, mini, quiche, cream puffs, macarons, Prosecco, and more. We had four pots of tea: Classic English Breakfast, Earl Gray, Peach White, and Coconut Oolong. It goes without saying that the English Brekkie and Earl Gray were perfectly brewed and delicious. The Peach White and Coconut Oolong were also perfectly brewed. The Peach White was fragrant and flavorful. Same for the Coconut Oolong though it was more fragrant with a less robust flavor. Still delicious. The tea sandwiches were served on perfectly fresh and soft white bread. Cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches are always my favorite, without question. The Strawberry Devonshire Scone was to die for! I really enjoyed the heart-shaped Rosemary biscuit that had a hint of parmesean flavor as well. The apricot Stilton cheese was flavorful and exactly how you want a Stilton to taste. Service was outstanding. The decor was brilliant, absolute perfection. The entire experience was reminiscent of tea rooms I've visited in England and Ireland. Looking forward to another visit soon! Note: the tea room is located inside Michelle's Patisserie in a shopping plaza---once you enter the tea room you're totally transported to another time and place of elegance, tea, & sweets.

I was…read morenervous planning this surprise party all the way from another state, but Sophie was fabulous to work with and I could not have done it without her. As a communication instructor, communication was the biggest priority for me and Sophie was a complete pro. Communication from start to finish was prompt and excellent! Sophie even brought up details that I hadn't even thought about. Her patience, kindness, and upbeat attitude made planning the party a breeze! For the party, MVTPC provided the catering, service, and decor--and there was loads of decor! From the gorgeous vintage teacups to amazing vintage bronze unicorn statute, my sister's house was transformed into a magical 1920's Gatsby mansion. I have to mention the food, which drew rave reviews from all party guests. We had french macaroons (in Lavender, Rose, and Pistachio flavors), croissants, quiche, chocolate mousse cups, and petit fours (champagne strawberry). The petit fours are not to be missed! We also had a punch station that featured an ice ring filled with fruit and flowers (side note: MVTPC does not supply alcohol, but will serve it for you. It was extremely easy and actually more cost efficient for us to buy our own booze anyway). Finally, I have nothing but the highest praise for the MVTPC staff. The hosts/hostesses were polite, prompt, friendly, and engaging. Setup and clean up were quick and efficient and didn't interrupt the party festivities at all! Overall, it was an awesome, successful party. Don't hesitate to contact Sophie--you'll be glad you did!

Every small detail down the food and decorations were, just as the name implies, marvelous! The theme was a 20s-style speakeasy which served finger sammies, several flavors of macaroons, and the biggest rave, petit fours decorated in edible glitter! There was much more food, as well, all of which were delectable! Her staff at my party, Dylan, Crystal, and Anna, made the entire event special! They cleaned, made sure food was replenished, and, most importantly, paid close attention to my guests needs! They also had a great eye for decorating and rearranging and knew exactly where everything should go. I would recommend her for any event big or small!
