My friend and I ventured into Craftiques Mall and found this delightful tea room in the back part of the antiques vendor space. It was charming and the menu extensive! I sampled some white blueberry lemonade that was really refreshing. I also tried a macha cookie and a white blueberry scone. Both had nice flavors. There is also a little tea related gift section with all sorts of charming items. We did not eat a meal there because we had just come from lunch. But they seem to cater to parties and showers, including children's tea parties. It seems like a super cute little venue within a venue, with great parking and easy access. read more

So, I came across this place visiting the antique store. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed to say the least. The place looks and sounds lovely as it's surrounded by its own little cute section in the store to sit and sip some tea. But I believe there's a lot of missed opportunities here as my tea was quite hard to drink. It didn't really have much flavor which is strange for a Chai tea but I do believe maybe it's probably more with what I asked for than the lack of quality? Not quite sure what went wrong but I didn't try any pastries or anything so maybe it's worth another shot? I'm kind of drawn away for it because it was $10 for a little flavorless watery chai :(. This tea lounge was inside an antique mall, all the way in the back. I loved the decor they had up and tea choices to sit and drink but I got two bags to go. They were out of a lot of options which were disappointing but I still managed to try some in the spectrum of what I wanted. The white blush was amazing, it has a flowers that bloom in the hot water as it's steeping, very cool. The Oolong was alright, good tea but definitely wasn't my first choice. It's located inside an antiques mall. Walk in and head straight to the back. They have plenty of tea options. You can order a personal pot or a bigger pot to share. I noticed a family having a whole tea time experience. From my understanding, you can book tea time that comes with the food, tea and a reserved table. I went for lunch and tried their pesto BMT panini. I chose a salad for my side, but they give you the option of chips or fruit. I had to also order a scone to go with my tea. I ordered the earl grey scone. It was soft and had good flavor, but I couldn't pick up the ear grey flavors in it. My friend ordered the blueberry scone which was better. For tea, I ordered the earl grey lavender. I don't add sugar or honey, but they did bring out two types of honey. They have a cute seating set up. Nothing matches, but it looks well in this antique store. The girl working the register was friendly. You order at the register and then someone brings out your food and drink. Completely hidden within the NW side Craftique, is the Garden Tea Lounge. Consisting of mismatched set of tables and chairs, this place has the feel of a uniquely undiscovered locale. With their variety of teas and tasty lunch specials, it's an ideal place to to visit while avoiding crowds. Although, I have never had the lunches, I have been here a multitude of times to delight in their teas. The atmosphere of this place is charming. The tea services are nicely set up and one order serves 1-2 people. It is quiet and after enjoying the teas, there is an opportunity to peruse the different stands selling interesting products and vintage items. Prices are not too bad, either, starting at $6 for a tea service. The staff is knowledgeable on the teas they serve and, although, not the friendliest, they are certainly well versed on different teas. This is a place to visit consistently. I am giving this place 5 stars for a couple of reasons. Let me start with it is inside the antique shop, all the way in the back. I was lucky to meet with the owner as I was checking out tea sets. She is very knowledgeable and had great advice. She gave us a tea tour. When I say this I mean around the shop teaching us about the different pots, cups, and sets. I will say I bought a nice tea set, and some teas. The other nice thing is they have great teas and the servers are courteous and know what they are doing/ talking about. My wife had a pumpkin spice latte and I just got the tea of the day. We we're definitely not disappointed. Go give a check and take a step away from coffee and get some tea. read more

The food is extremely overpriced for what it is, there has always been a roach problem, and the owners mistreat their employees, which is why you don't see the same faces each visit. It's unfortunate how downhill this place has gone since changing management because the people who used to run it who brought a lot of heart and soul have long since left, which in turn has unfortunately made the quality go downhill. The workers, due to lack of training it seems, don't really have the extensive knowledge about tea or the tea products. What use to be quaint and enjoyable break from the hustle bustle of the rest of the worlds pace has slowly developed into just another business. The days of charming service, and warm friendly faces you recognize have faded. As a long term customer it's always somewhat sad to see people you know leave. But eventually the staff has become younger generations that seem to never know how to handle the register or managers that effectively do the same but with more gumption to pretend they aren't clueless. The straw that broke this camel's back was a rather disingenuous"manager" testing me like I'm ignorant and to stupid to be educated. When I'm walking into a loose leaf tea seller that actively promotes and sells tea related items, including refillable containers for your tea you purchase, to be told I cannot get my loose leaf tea in my container. Say what? My option? I can purchase the pre-filled bags they fill from the large containers lining the wall behind the register, rip them open, then dump them in my container myself and throw away the bags.... Now that's some bass ackward linear thinking for you. And wasteful. Did I mention dumb? Anyone who follows my Yelp knows that I am highly motivated individual supporting reuse reduce recycle as much as possible to limit our footprint of damage that seems to increase every year. To be told the giant canisters full of loose tea leaves you utilize to fill the pouches you sell CANT be used to fill my personal reusable container (that I have bought from the very store I'm purchasing the refill of leaves from) with a reasoning as nonsensical as the convoluted delivery it was provided in gives me a bad taste in my mouth and desire to find a new provider of my tea leaves. Ready for the logic? The price doesn't include the labor to fill my personal container... So let me break this down for y'all. The price point that any merchandise or service is sold for is inflated to cover operational costs for the business, materials, and of course provide a profit. I can Guarantee the price of a pre-packaged custom labeled bag of tea most definitely has included in the price you pay a reimbursement for the labor to fill the container, as well as the costs for the one time use container and custom ordered stickers being used on said container. This is a Basic motion used when figuring prices, including increases in the costs they incur which are figured as a rate increase for the customers so add not to eat into their profits. When I'm asking you to bill me for that pre-package custom labeled tea price but put it in my refillable container the business SAVES money. They save on bags, labels, and prevent The need for somebody in the middle of a business day to stop what they're doing to track down additional bags and labels and refill them for new clients that do not have their own refillable containers should that particular tea be out of stock on the shelf at the time it is being ordered. So yes, I'm still paying the same rate that covers the bags And labor to fill them... And yet being told that that labor efforts put into filling my container wouldn't be covered.... I felt like I was being Punk'd. Then just straight up insulted to have somebody treat me like a moron to explain something with backwards logic that makes no sense telling me how much of a favor they were doing me by making an exception but then talking my ear off repeating themselves in circles about the logic of why it's not normally done. Thanks, but no thanks. If you don't do it, you don't do it. As a customer that is a frequent flyer to my preferred businesses of choice I am used to service changes and options being removed. I don't have to like it but there's nothing I can do about it. But sitting there explaining to me how it's not cost-effective for you to fill my container instead of providing me a pre-packaged one that you pay extra cost for the materials I'm taking with me is stupid, as is the practice of insulting your customers. I prefer to support local business but can Easily go online and have stuff shipped to me for the same quality and price. So keep your high handed logic, I'll take my business elsewhere thank you. Even if San Antonio hasn't caught up yet there are a multitude of options in Austin that would be more than happy to assist a customer that spends hundreds of dollars annually, plus all the referrals, gifts, dine in expenses, and tea hardware not including the special events and tea parties I enjoyed hosting before COVID that I was looking forward to starting again. If you aren't looking to be a loose leaf tea connoisseur with frequent refills of product but just a cute dining experience that is by no means fast, this place will probably give you exactly what you need and nothing more. read more

Came on a Saturday morning and was a bit lost when I came in. As I approached the front, realized that the restaurant is inside the consignment store. It's a cute place with nice chairs and decor. I was really looking forward to trying it out. Came to the counter and ordered two paninis. Sat down to relax on a chair, but started to get a little curious about items being sold, so decided to walk around a bit. Was told about 10 minutes later that there was not enough chicken to made two sandwiches. So, I chose another item. Not too big of a deal, but was surprised it took a while. And, it was only about noon, so it's not like I was late in the day. We received a pot of tea and a pumpkin scone. The scone was all right. Tasted more like a denser pound cake than an English scone. I was a little surprised that the pot of tea didn't include leaves to add more water for a refill. 15 minutes later the paninis arrive. The chicken was apparently cold cut and so was the other sandwich. I was a bit shocked at the $8.50 price for two cold cut sandwiches. The food did taste all right, but with the 15-20 minute wait I'm not really sure if the time and food quality added up well. I received a small serving of hummus along with the sandwich. Overall, I would not say the food was amazing. The atmosphere and dining experience is probably the most interesting and intriguing part of eating here. This is a lot different than what I am used to, however it was cute and quaint inside a store that sells a lot of different things. It looked like it's many vendors in one store. You have to go in the store and go to the back left side. There are a bunch of different tables and chairs. You can special order High or Low Tea with at least a week's notice. So I liked my oolong tea, my cheddar and chive scone, and my fig and fontina with prosciutto panini. I tried my boyfriend's too which was the Italian Chicken. Mine was sweet and his was more savory. Took my 5yo granddaughter here for a late lunch. I didn't know what to expect as it's at the back of an antiques mall. While the rest of the mall area is tight, it opens up and there's lovely antique cast iron tables and chairs. We had earl gray lavender tea served in colorful fiestaware and the special grilled cheese panini with figs and fruit salad which were served on beautiful china. I mean from the outset, it looks like your typical hipster business, but when you talk to Liz, you KNOW she is someone with a wealth of knowledge. We went in on a weekday evening for an early dinner on a busy day in our busy lives. At first, hubby was a little put off, as the cafe is located in the back of an antique store. You'll find this eclectic tea shop at the back of an antique store near one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio, Sichuan. The tea shop has 48 varieties of loose leaf tea, as well as a variety of scones (sweet and savory), paninis, and other sandwiches. The ladies running this place are very friendly and eager to impart some knowledge on you should you have any questions. The teas all fall into one of three categories from regular, to premium. As you might imagine the premiums are more expensive. We had a nice tea called Gung Fo (or something like that) and it was quite nice. However, a small teapot of the stuff was over $6 and only provided about 3 small cups of tea. We did not try any of the food but it certainly looked good. The scones looked quite amazing. I had planned on giving this place 4 stars but dropped it to 3 based on ambience. This, of course, is purely subjective but I just didn't feel comfortable in the back of an antique shop sitting on metal furniture. Others may find this perfectly fine. So, in conclusion, great tea, tons of variety, what looked to be good eats, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, but poor ambiance in this Yelpers opinion. If you're into antique shopping and want to combine that with some tea and sandwiches, this may very well be your spot. read more

I came during the week with family to this quaint little tea room nestled in an craft/antique mall. They have a large menu of specialty teas but a somewhat limited lunch menu. I ordered the Sunday Supper, which was a toasted sandwich of ham, turkey, bacon with lettuce, tomato and dandelion mustard. It was a delicious sandwich. I loved that they put the chips in a little tea cup however I mostly got crumbs. There were only two other tables of people when we got there but they did our order first while the others waited, so the staff seemed to be a little disorganized or confused. I also got the Southern Sweet Tea, which was good but nothing like real Southern Sweet Tea. I asked what was in it but the waitress didn't know. read more

This is the best hidden place in SA! Its located in the back of the Craftiques Mall. A small, shabby chic little tea lounge! I really enjoyed catching up with an old friend here and sipping on tea. They have a lot of neat choices for tea (we got blood orange, which you can have hot or cold). You can even purchase your own tea and tea pots to take home with you! They also offer more just tea, they offer classes on tea talks and often have a free open mic nights. Where you can play music or read poetry. Or just listen if your not into performing.
