The salads we ordered were also extremely dry. Ps. They dont have ranch we asked so we could dip our dry tastless pizza into it and they brought us out cucumber water. I loved going to Spin Pizza but this location recently gone down hill. I placed a special order for them to add arugula on a mini Mia because they took the pizza I usually get off the menu. I was told by the cashier that it wouldn't be a problem. When they brought my pizza, they added mushroom instead. The server then insisted the pizza didn't have mushrooms. It was COVERED in mushrooms and she lied straight to my face. Maybe she was having a bad day, but if I was highly allergic then she could have caused a serious problem. However, the girl at the cash register did make us feel rushed as she kept deep breathing and look over my should to see who else was coming in. Our experience was terrible. It took an hour to get our food, all of it was wrong even when they remade it and our waitress did not attend to our table. Below I'll list the details. Our drinks were just carbonation. We had to inform our waitress twice when we all ran out of our drinks and when she brought them back they were incorrect. There was a dead fly stuck to the side of my cup. It took a full hour for us to get our meals. After 30 minutes we approached our waitress to ask where our food was. Before we asked she asked if we needed a to go box not knowing we didn't have our food. We were the only table in the restaurant. She brought our food a few minutes later. It had obviously been sitting for a long time as it was cold and the cheese was hard. The chicken was cold and rubbery. The pizzas didn't taste good at all. Pizzas and sides were on different plates and food was missing. They remade a few pizzas that were incorrect. They brought some of the remade food but forgot one pizza. We walked up to find out where it was and they thought for whatever reason we didn't want to eat it in the restaurant so they made it and put it in a box. The pizza was supposed to be gluten free because I'm gluten intolerant but at that point I just ate it because I didn't want to wait for them to make a third pizza. The lead employee (who was not a manager) gave us 50% off our order and made 3 of our pizzas for us to take to go (although they were also not what we ordered in the first place either). read more

I've come to the conclusion that I will forever love SPIN. I've been to two different locations multiple times and every visit has been awesome. I love the vibe of each place as well as the employees who are always welcoming and fun. The menus here are also almost second to none in my humble pizza-loving opinion. I love all of the artisan toppings and the fact that you can get whole wheat (definitely worth the small up charge!) and gluten free if you diet requires it. I recommend the Patate pie lunch special with the 8 color salad, it's just enough to fill you up without feeling TOO stuffed to move out the door. The simple dressing on the 8 color salad is to die for, light and crisp and exactly the way I like my salad dressing. I haven't tried the gelato here yet, although I'll be sure to do so on my next visit - which will hopefully be very soon! read more

Fun place to go with friends. Nice atmosphere conducive to having fun conversation with good food. I usually get the pizza Mia with a Cesar salad. Also their pizzas with Kalamata olives are very tasty. They serve the olives chopped into small pieces on the pizza. The gelato has a nice creamy texture but the flavors are very hit and miss. Be sure to try the gelato you are considering. Tipping is a little confusing because you place your order at the counter. Not sure to do 15-20% or something less... Overall, it is an enjoyable spot. They have good almost single serving pizzas with both traditional and unique toppings. The pizzas are the right size where everyone can get their own or split one pizza with a couple of salads or something. They also have a great beer and wine selection where you can find any style of beer you want without having one of those 5 page over whelming beer lists. The wine list is very similar, though I'm not as into wine. The atmosphere is modern and hip but not like overly pretentious and not just another pizza joint. They have both outdoor and indoor seating available. SPIN also has a gelato bar, it looks good, but I have never tried theirs. read more

Visited Spin for the first time today with my wife. As soon as we walked in there was someone there to great me and they asked if we have been there before. Since we had not, she explain the entire menu which was very helpful. I got the mini Mia which included a personal size pizza and a salad. I chose the cinque formaggi which is a five cheese pizza. I also chose the BLT salad. Our food was delivered to our table very fast , which was surprising since they we pretty busy. The salad was amazing and the only complaint there was the croutons were slightly burnt. The pizza was also really good but I wish it was a bit bigger. I agree with other reviews regarding I wish they would just go to a full service restaurant that the waitress would just take your order. I have visited Spin Pizza now on two occasions. The pros: Nice atmosphere. Dimly lit, easy on the eyes and comfortable seating. The gelato (yes, dessert comes to mind first) is fabulous. I have tried the Swiss Chocolate and it's splendid; almost a dark-chocolate flavor. Their salads are very well made, too, and fresh. I've had the Greek Salad and the BLT Salad. I personally preferred the Greek. The employees are competent and friendly. The menu choices for pizza and salad is unique and different with lots of interesting ingredients and combinations. The cons: On our second visit, our pizza was burned on one side. The crust was black and the toppings were singed. The waitress was a bit busy and forgot about our lemon wedges we had requested so we had to re-request from another waitress. We had also ordered some flatbread to go with our starter salads and they forgot about them. I blame the cons on a full restaurant and very busy staff. I'll likely be back. The friendly staff made up for the things that can be overlooked and our sun dried and olive tomato pizza was still pretty good, especially on the non-burned side. The salads are what make this place stand out. I can't stand raw tomatoes but theirs I actually find tasty because they are roasted which is a nice touch. Pizza is usually pretty good although they could add a little more cheese and sauce on those pizzas that have it. I always enjoy the food here and knowing I can get gelato in all flavors if I want adds to the satisfaction I get when I leave here. I only knock off a star for the atmosphere. I had never tried Spin before so was not sure what to expect. But I was in for a treat. I had the Sonoma Salad and Three Meat mini pizza. The salad was wonderful, with goat cheese, and fruit that blended with the blood orange dressing perfectly. I find fruit in salads to be weird at times but this was heavenly. The Three Meat pizza was very good. One of the meats was spicy, but not too hot for me. I especially liked their savory crust which added to the flavor. Since it was my birthday, I got a token for a free cup of gelato. I sampled several flavors before settling on Mackinac Island Fudge. Also very good. The service was quick and helpful, especially at the front counter. Some places talk down to new customers but this guy was friendly and very patient as my girlfriend and I had never eaten at Spin before. read more

Recently moved to the KC area and was looking for a go-to pizza place. We tried SPIN because it was close to my girlfriend's job and we were pleasantly surprised. Their pizza is good, but what makes SPIN stand out is the variety. The appetizers all sound delicious but we tried the flatbread with dip trio and it was awesome! They also have some amazing gelato flavors for dessert. They have some exciting vegetarian options and a dairy free cheese for vegan patrons. They also have wine! Really the one star was for getting water to drink and not getting glutened. I found nuts on my pizza and they were not ordered. I'm allergic to nuts. Have to carry an epi pen. We may have eaten there @50 times in the past ten years, and the food never disappoints. I approached the bar to ask the general manager about potential job opportunities and everyone was in a seemingly very poor mood and not excited to be working. It took about 10 minutes for me to get anyone to come help me because everyone kept walking away when they saw l was standing there. I finally asked one of the employees if I could talk to the manager. She went and got the manager named Alex and instantly I could tell something was wrong. She muttered a few cuss words before addressing me as "Hun" in a very condescending way. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she also smelled of alcohol. I love this restaurant and have been going since I moved to Lee's Summit. I have always loved coming here but my most recent visit over the weekend the managers seemed to treat the workers very poorly. After witnessing one of the servers talk to what appeared to be the main manager (to which the older lady appeared very aggressive) she appeared very upset and her service suffered from this conversation clearly. We gave her a good tip because you could tell she was trying her hardest despite the aggressive discussion. In all fairness, I have to say I haven't actually eaten anything here. This review pertains to the atmosphere and menu (and WHY we didn't eat here). My significant other and I are in the area often and were very excited to find out a pizza place was coming to the mall. We went in and were surprised there is some weird walk-thru area where you order (why?) which seems unnecessary. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and we asked many questions about the menu. There is seating outdoors and a nice dimly lit eating area indoors, which I prefer. The problem comes in with the menu. We literally went down the entire list of pizza options and there wasn't one thing we both would eat. We don't like anchovies, goat cheese, funky sauces, capers, etc. and that's ALL there was. We were not able to customize a pizza, so we just said no thanks, and left. We were terribly disappointed. We really wanted to like the place. While there, we also noticed that alot of the customers were enjoying wine and, if memory serves me, drinks. So perhaps if you're a drinker, this is its main appeal. read more

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after receiving a discount coupon at a recent Yelp event. Typically, I don't have a lot of expectations for franchise restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised at our experience at SPIN! Pizza. I'm not ashamed to say I was thrown a bit by the ordering process. Standing in line like cattle to order from the large board above the registers. However I was quickly informed that the meal we ordered would be charged but the ticket left open in case we decided to add to our ticket, making the experience full service after the initial ordering process. The restaurant was incredibly busy, which is not uncommon for what is essentially high-end fast food restaurants but it wasn't long before I realized this place had a little bit more going for it. After seating ourselves, we were immediately greeted by our server, bringing us the drinks we had ordered only moments ago. This was soon followed by our salad and then our main course. We ate and drank and finally left to make room for the number of people who had queued at the door since our arrival. it wasn't until later that I realized that I had forgotten to sign the ticket and leave our server a tip. I promptly called the store to tell them of my snafu and with just a couple of facts provided they were able to find our order, apply the tip and close out the ticket. If I have one gripe it would be the layout of the restaurant. Tables are arranged close together in a wide open dining area which causes the noise level to elevate quickly and serves somewhat problematic for those interested in engaging in any dinner conversation. If you're they kind of person who finds good conversation is just as important as the beer your drink or the dish you eat, I recommend arriving before or after they typical dining rush times. This should ensure you and your party have a decent dining experience. All in all this was a fairly pleasant experience. The staff was helpful and friendly, the food was above par and the prices were reasonable and look forward to my next trip. read more
