We are new to the area. We've been to Spiro's four times. Every experience has been superb. We've brought out of town company twice and both couples were very impressed with the restaurant. The food is fantastic, the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer is the best I've ever had. We've tried many things on the menu and all have been delicious. The drinks are yummy and fun. Spyros in Rocky point is always a good night out. The drinks are great which is one of the reasons everyone goes there, the food is also great. Sitting in the bar area for happy hour is a great place to spend the evening if you're lucky enough to get a table. If you haven't been here go check it out scene is fun and lively the drinks are fantastic and the food is great. First time here, place was great, bacon wrapped scallops were amazing, and the filet mignon was the best me and my wife ever had. Hands down my favorite place to have a martini. Food is always fantastic whether at the bar or if you are having a sit down dinner. If you decide to have dinner at the dining area you better make a reservation. They can fill up fast during the weekends but I always have a fondness for their martinis. My favorite is the biscotti martini for a perfect night cap. Who needs cake when you can have a biscotti martini instead? Pure perfection all around. read more

I was visiting family on long island and heard about this new martini bar... It turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! It's a great place to chill and relax with friends while drinking yummy martinis! Plus they have some great happy hour prices on food and drinks! We went here for father's day dinner and it was a great experience. Their online reservation system was very convenient and we were seated as soon as we arrived, which was pleasantly surprising given the holiday. The waitress was courteous and professional. The father in our party enjoyed his crab cakes and NY strip, while the vegetarian and vegan in attendance were also able to find fresh salads, veggies, baked potatoes etc to suit our preferences. The sangrias were tasty although they were filled with more fruit than drink. It was a little pricey but very nice for a special occasion. Got a gift certificate from my sister. I ordered the steak and mash potatoes. My wife ordered some pasta chicken dish. We both got a coke. No alcoholic beverages we order 2 soups before our meal. Soup was good. Steak was 2x as much money as j&r right next store but they taste the same. My mother says if u sit at the bar the food is better. I guess you have to get drunk to think your getting what your paying for. I'm not saying don't go but you ain't going to see me there anymore unless someone else is paying haha. We went here for Valentines day, I made the reservation early, and they called me to confirm it no where on their website, nor when they called did they inform me that it was Valentines day menu only, 75 dollars per person plus tax and tip for a 3 course dinner that if you purchased there any other day of the week would cost 50 dollars, so not only did I not get to order what I wanted, I was charged more then their normal price, the place is also dated and the food was okay, but not worth double what they normally charge. You could hear other tables saying the same thing. Kind of feeling lukewarm about Spiros right now. I have had dinner here before, although it has been many months, and enjoyed that meal very much. The food was very good, the drinks excellent (but pricey for LI), and the service friendly. I have been hearing people rave about their Happy Hour, so yesterday my husband and son met me there after finishing a round of golf nearby. The drinks were still excellent, and obviously better priced since it was happy hour. The food was mostly mediocre, with one excellent standout, and one really awful item. Oysters Rockefeller were so good we ordered a second plate of them. It went downhill from there - Fried Calamari was not crisp at all, the breading was very mushy. A buffalo chicken flatbread pita was so over-doused with Franks Hot Sauce it was practically inedible, and it was smothered with way too much cheddar cheese. WAY too much. I don't even know why cheddar was on this item in the first place - shouldn't buffalo chicken be paired with blue cheese? The baked clams were a joke - we literally found only one piece of actual clam in the entire serving. I took one and it did not have one piece of clam in it. It was simply bland breading with absolutely no taste at all. Note to the kitchen - if you are calling a menu item Baked Clams, it should actually contain clams. The bar was not busy at all, there were only three other tables with two or three people at each one, yet the bartender/server seemed to be very begrudging with serving anyone. No personality, never smiled or even spoke other than to say "Ok" or "Sure". Really didn't seem happy to be there, which didn't make us feel very welcome. If I'm in the mood for Oysters Rockefeller and nothing else I may come back for a happy hour. These days it seems as though every steakhouse stems from the same template. There will be slabs of beef cut from the short loin and tenderloin, potatoes in myriad guises, and outlandish desserts for which no one saves room. Eating at a chophouse is America's most universal ritual for indulgence. I am fortunate enough to say that I have had the luxury to experience fine dining at a number of establishments all over the world. I have almost made it part of my life's work to discover all that fine dining has to offer. Searching for those unique restaurants that have menus created to cater every guests desires and include fresh seafood, beef ribeye and other Gourmet dishes. Still, despite all of the delicious choices that I come across steak for me still remains the star attraction. If I wrote a review for every meal I have ever eaten I would never find time to dine. However this time I am going to take a moment to share what was probably one of my most enjoyable fine dining experiences thus far. I must say one of the finest meals I have had. The service was impeccable and the food was fantastic, Spiros restaurant has managed to exceed my expectations. And that is certainly not an easy task. Our waitress Jennifer was a breath of fresh air she didn't miss a beat the entire evening, her warm welcoming smile greeted us immediately upon arrival to introduce herself and tell us the evenings soup specials as well as offering up some of the many delicious cocktails Spiros is known to concoct. She recommended the Jack Frost martini which consisted of Pearl Coconut Vodka, Malibu, Hpnotiq, Blue Curacao and Pineapple Juice and wow was it delicious! Served in a martini glass this ocean blue cocktail was spot on. There were many appetizers to choose from on the menu and torn between which one to choose I asked our lovely waitress what she liked, once again I took the recommendation from Jennifer and boy was I glad I did! She recommended Spiros Seared tuna, she said it was one of her favorites and now it has become one of mine. Elegantly presented this perfectly sliced rare tuna is accompanied by wasabi, soy sauce and fresh ginger, it is absolutely spectacular. I followed this delicious appetizer with the Spiros Shepard salad diced fresh tomato, italian parsley, cucumber, green and red pepper, onion, olive oil and balsamic reduction and yet again, it was fresh and delicious. I couldn't have been more impressed at this point, or so I thought. Each and every step of the way the entire evening was enjoyed throughout. Jennifer filled our water glasses, offered up more cocktails, was engaged in conversation in a way that you just don't find these days, it wasn't intrusive it wasn't obnoxious and fake it was real and she genuinely cared about making this a memorable and enjoyable dining experience not to mention the fact that she kept the table immaculate going above and beyond to make the night perfect. I was really impressed with everything from the great service, to her advice about the dishes to the attention to detail of wiping the crumbs off the table. Between our waitress and the great food this made the trip to Spiros worth each and every penny. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better Jennifer presented to me one of the most succulent, juicy and most delicious Ribeye steaks I have ever eaten, cooked to a perfect medium rare and served with piping hot garlic mashed potatoes this steak had just put Spiros at the top of my list. My mouth is watering while writing this just thinking about how absolutely wonderful my dinner was. And our waitress came back to find out was the steak cooked properly? are you enjoying your meal? Can I offer you another cocktail? she didn't just drop the dinner and run, she graciously took the time to ask would you care for any fresh black pepper is there anything else I can get for you right now? This is the type of service that is to be expected in a fine dining restaurant although it is extremely hard to come by, Spiro hit the nail on the head when he hired this girl she is phenomenal, I can't say enough great things about this diamond in the rough waitress 6 out of 5 stars on the service at Spiros. 6 out of 5 stars on the food that was outrageously delicious and presented with such meticulous detail. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit this hidden gem of a restaurant I would highly recommend that you do. As one who loves to eat out, I thoroughly appreciated each and every facet of this sensational restaurant. A big thank you to Jennifer for making it a memorable and unforgettable evening. read more

Bar area way too tight. Tuna appetizer very good. I did not at all care for the stuffed lobster and I was embarrassed that they took away everyones plate while i was left cracking my lobster. I didnt even finish it because I was the only one eating. On the flip side our server laura was great. However with all the fantastic restaurants why come back? Not me!! A small group went for happy hour. The mussels were yummy. A nice portion, too. The bacon wrapped scallops were tasty, but the portion here was skimpy. Our table got a beer and a couple of martinis. Then we got this frozen chocolate concoction. It was big. However, I f there was alcohol in it, I missed it. Then our DD was drinking club soda...and we got charged $3 each for 2 club sodas. That's just tacky. Service was ok. I might give it another try (since the fam enjoys this place), but probably not if I get a vote. read more

I went on a dinner date with my fiancée for the first time tonight since March at Spiro's in Rocky Point. The food was great, as always, and our waitress went above and beyond. We started with the baked clams, which were delicious and I would recommend to anyone. (They were hot and the clams were chopped but big enough to taste. ) I ordered short ribs, I usually don't eat a lot of red meat (so I don't know what made me order this) but they were amazing, super tender. My fiancée ordered what I think is called Chicken Portabello, which had chicken breast, spinach, and feta, smothered in a tomato reduction, she said it was good but towards the middle got a little tough. There was a problem with yellow jackets but we did order cocktails that were sweet and had sugar rims. We sat outside so we can't blame nature on the restaurant or the waitress. We asked the waitress to put a cup of sugar water out for the yellow jackets since they were obsessed with our drinks and she did so with no issue. The yellow jackets stayed by the sugary drink during the meal but she ended up giving us a beer on her for dealing with the yellow jackets. The waitress offered to change our table cloth because the sugar rim melted all over it but we didn't want to waste the table cloth because my fiancée is a bit of a messy eater so it's not a big deal. We just stayed calm and the yellow jackets left us alone but enjoyed their own cocktail LOL. Overall it was a good "first" date acclimating to the "new normal". read more
