My partner and I were going on a picnic. We first called another sandwich shop, but they had a 30 minute wait, and we were on a tight schedule, so I called Spiteri's. I wanted a Club, but they didn't have one. Strange! What sandwich shop doesn't have a "Club"? So I ordered a turkey, ham and bacon with pepper jack. I asked if they had a large sandwich, since we were going to split it. She said they had a 6 inch and a "half" sandwich, so I ordered the 6 inch on focaccia bread. When we got to our destination and opened up the sandwich it was soggy. Also, it was a round bun, about 4 inches wide, not really big enough to share. It had one thin slice of cheese, which I could not taste at all. The bread was dense and heavy and there was not much bacon. The sandwich had a lot of ham. Very generous ham portion, so the flavor of this "sub" was basically soggy focaccia and ham. read more

I never write negative reviews because I am in food service myself and I understand that things happen. With that being said I cannot believe the service that I was given at this place. The lady on the phone who took my order was super nice, sounded like we got everything right on the order. When I got there I picked up my order and left because I was taking my boyfriend lunch. When I got to his shop I realized that they had made my sandwich incorrectly and I called to ask if they could reconcile the situation. I was assured it would be taken care of. When I got there the older lady with glasses at the register was extremely rude, I asked if she could reheat my sandwich since it was cold and it was supposed to be hot. She preceded to give me attitude and told me i needed to be there on time to pick my order up and she clearly wasn't going to reheat it. Keep in mind if my order was made correctly IN THE FIRST PLACE I wouldn't of had to return and drive all the way back. I will not be back due to the lady who had a terrible attitude and terrible customer service. As somebody who works in food and customer service I know that when there is an issue you reassure the customer you will do everything in your power to fix the situation "the customer is always right." It is much better to swallow your pride and just fix it to save yourself a bad review. read more

My family and I went to this deli and honestly it was very good! Like my cousin doesn't even like sandwiches and she LOVED the Ruben sandwich. Also they had good water:) "The Ruben was decadent as a sandwich can be. The marbled rye was to die for". All together, it was divine. Tucked away in a random parking lot behind what I remember being a tire store, you'll find the answer to all your sandwich prayers. The sliding freezer that contains the tiny little balled ice, with accompanying fountain sodas. What can I say about Spiteri's that isn't already known? Besides being hidden way back in a shopping center and hard to find, they have the best ice in the soda business! Their sandwiches are always fresh and taste delicious!!! And they always have a good selection of chips to choose from as well. I normally call my order in, only because it gets kind of busy at times so if you call in, you can skip the long line and pick up at the checkout counter. The best.) salt/pepper In the few times I've differed, I've tried quite a few of their other selections and everything is top notch. I'm not one for macaroni/pasta/potato/egg salad but people tell me this place makes the best they've ever had. This place is amazing. I've never had a bad experience. Often these days I go in around 11:30 and noon for lunch and even when there is a long line I'm typically back to work before my 30 min. lunch is up. The food is so nomnom I mean how many other deli's in town do you have the choice of smoked chedder and gouda on sandwiches? their salads are also excellent and affordable. Even the 3.50 salad fills me up typically. the 5.50 croissant sandwiches are bomb but they actually put a little too much meat on them. i can't fit it in my mouth! that's not really a complaint. they also have some of the best customer service in chico here. everyone is always helpful and they all have a smile no matter how hectic it is. great job you guys. read more
