Truly a hidden gem! Located in the lobby area of the Grand California Hotel... Yes, this was a park day for me... i came to this restaurant for a little breathing room... And the food is Phenomenal. The Drinks?! Can't i say PHENOMENAL X2?!?! LOL

I'd give a 3.5 but rounding up to a 4. It's a nice getaway from the business of the park inside the Grand Californian hotel. Service was good, everyone was very friendly. Food came out slowly though, felt like 30 min for food and 20 min for dessert. The food was pretty good, we got the charcuterie pizza (personal size ~ there's a larger shareable version of this at craftsman bar), roasted chicken and cookie butter crème brûlée for dessert (didn't like the cookie butter cookie on top but the actual crème brûlée was delicious).

Thank you to Jonathan for taking care of us! He really took his time to help us with drink recommendations. I think it was safe to say he did a good job since we all ordered a second round of the same drinks. Yes the drinks are a bit pricey but they pack a punch! (You've been warned) Not pictured: truffle Mac and cheese (it's good)

Ambience was great. Food is pricey however the food quality was excellent. The wait staff was attentive and our food came out timely. The French Onion soup is the best. So much cheese and lots of onion bits. The drinks are great and made well. We err able to get a discount with our DVC. If you have a Magic Key Pass you also get a discount. May comeback next year. The restaurant is a treat

It's nice coming here for a night cap at the end of the night. I recommend setting up a reservation and talking to the hostess as soon as you arrive so they know you are there. The service is great and the food is delicious. They a have a great tequila selection of fine tequila. They also give you some almonds and olives after you order your food. The ambience is really comfortable and still classy! Usually the bar is full of ppl who have been drinking awhile so I recommend getting a table if you're a couple trying to get a night cap before you go to your hotel room.

Beautiful upscale restaurant with reasonable prices by destination and upscale restaurant standards. My royal petal tasted as good as it looks. I never used to like gin, but I enjoy anything made with Empress Gin (see also: the Make It Blue Make It Pink at Broken Spell Lounge that is also Empress gin-based). Had a great burger cooked medium rare to order. I was surprised the avocado was given to me as a spread rather than sliced but it does make it easier to eat without avocado slices sliding out of the bun. One son had chicken fingers. I forget what the other ordered, but both cleared their plates. Excellent service.

We absolutely love the Hearthstone Lounge! It's inside the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. I definitely recommend making a reservation because it can get busy. We were visiting for a special Disneyland event and came here for dinner the night before. Even though we arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation, they were able to seat us right away, which was a great start to the evening. The service was top-notch! The vibe here is exactly what you'd hope for from the name: cozy fireplace lounge energy with comfortable seating, warm lighting, and a relaxing atmosphere that feels upscale without being stuffy. The drink menu is seriously impressive, especially if you enjoy whiskey since they have an entire whisky library. I ordered the martini flight, which included three mini martinis: The Word, The Corpse Reviver, and The Army. All three were delicious and the portion size was perfect -- enough to enjoy each one without overdoing it. My wife ordered the Curious Cabin, a tequila-based cocktail, and she loved it. The food was excellent too, and we really appreciated the allergy-friendly options, including a strong gluten-free menu. I had the short rib lasagna, which was absolutely delicious. My wife had the hamburger on a gluten-free bun and kept talking about how amazing the bun was because it actually held together -- unlike so many gluten-free buns out there. This is such a fun place to grab drinks, enjoy a meal, and soak in the ambiance. Whether you're staying at the hotel or just spending time at Disneyland, Hearthstone Lounge is absolutely worth a visit!

Get the mashed potatoes when you get the burger!! there weren't any seats so I sat and ate it in the amazing lobby!

The Baseline: For a sit down Dining experience establishment the food flavors must represent the theme of the environment, there must be unique offerings to the restaurant based on the theme, and the experience must be immersive to the theme park experience. Food: The food was good and was above the theme park standards. They have a full whiskey and bourbon library so you can get some high end drinks. I had the roasted chicken (4 out of 5) which was juicy and flavorful. The Truffle Mac and cheese was good (4 out of 5), The Gem Caesar with chicken was just what it called itself (4 out of 5). The drinks were great and the olives/almonds were really my favorite (5 out of 5). Since this is more of a bar experience than a restaurant experience it rates higher for the lounge aspects. Service: The service is top notch and we had a great waitress and waiter. Ambiance: One of the better places to have a Disney meal in the Grand Californian. This is an old school look with Disney flair and makes for an enjoyable Disney evening out.

The food was delicious! My favorite was the French onion soup it was full of flavor. The hidden mickeys made the experience a fun occasion. The service was great, we had a great host who helped us choose delicious appetizers.

My first time dining in while at Disneyland! Usually I'm so ready to be in the park I don't even consider sitting down at a restaurant but it was a great first experience. We had a large group with 4 separate reservations but the staff was able to seat us all near each other. Our server was super nice and helpful anticipating what the little kids needed too. Located in the Grand Californian the place has a cabin-y mountain resort vibe. We were able to walk right in through California Adventure. Our table ordered the Curious Cabin, the Golden Rush Hour, and the Honey Gintini cocktails. All 3 cocktails were really pretty and tasted good. I'd recommend any of them for a lighter fruity drink. We also were given complimentary olives and nuts for starters. For food we got the truffle mac and cheese, the cobb salad, and the prime rib. The mac and cheese was a hit with the kid and had a definite but not overpowering truffle flavor. The cobb salad was a loaded with all the fixings and had plenty of dressing. Lastly the prime rib was juicy and tender. I loved that it came with au jus and it also had a small piece of bone marrow that we were able to spread on one bite that just elevated the meat. Overall a super cool experience and I'm glad I got to try it! Worth making some time for a sit down dining experience during your Disney trip!

Fancy, upscale lounge with rustic ambience that located inside the Grand California within Disneyland Park. Came after our visit at DCA and Downtown Disney, because the bartender and a few guests at Centrico was recommending us to check out Hearthstone, so we just have to! We grabbed a seat at the bar counter right in front of the alcohol shelf, it looks quite empty because they were in the middle of cleaning and organizing it, but I was able to see the expensive 40 Macallan Wishky bottle in front of my eyes. The staffs were friendly and professional, service was quick, our drink was ready within 10 minutes, Jessica - our bartender was check-in on us from time to time making sure everything is okay. I noticed that, all the staffs here, seems to be loved by the regulars, and I think I can understand why, the vibe they give off was likes: you are their friends, who visited their workplace and banter with them when the shift is about to be over. For drinks: I tried The Empress (with Vodka), it was pretty good at first but by the end of the drink it get more and more sour to my taste. My friend asked Jessica to make him a drink with strawberry flavor, and he said that was one of the best cocktail that he ever had, I would have to agree to that, because by the second round we both asked Jessica to give us the same strawberry cocktails lol. We only stay there for a short hour on Sunday night but it was memorable and I can't wait to comeback here next time, after I go visit Mickey Mouse first.

My second/third favorite restaurant on the Disneyland resort. This place has such a relaxing laid back vibe with some great food options. The couches are also super nice after walking around in the park. We always started here before hitting the parks and got the Poutine Chorizo Fries (10/10) which would fill two of us up and a few cocktails. Ask for some almonds for the table also! Drinks and food always hit before walking it all off.

I think this is on everyone's speakeasy list!…read more Make sure you make a reservation It is very packed. They offer bar seating and booth / table Follow the wall from Randy's donuts and Look for a wall of Japanese sake/beer barrels and head towards the restaurant - the rolling boil. There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Especially for it usually being very busy in here This place is located inside the Anaheim packing district. So I suggest hitting up a couple other spots before or afterwards for some more food or drinks P.S. it is very dark In here. They never cared if we used our light to look at the menu. However, they do not want flash photography They also do not strictly enforce a dress code (my friend from Nashville asked) however, they suggest dressing business casual and not too underdressed

I really liked the clarified strawberry drink, similar to strawberry and cream. I ordered a drink after that unfortunately forgot the name (photo attached with a tall glass) but there was no special cocktail craft taste to it. Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. We were bummed over all mostly about the food.

We have returned to Strong Water several times in recent months, so it's time for an update. We…read morefirst returned in early June since they introduced some new cocktails and food to the menu. The other visits were just because this is by far our number one place. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

This review is for the Trader Sam's mixology seminar. I haven't visited during regular hours yet…read more The inside of Trader Sam's was closed for a few months for renovations earlier this year. They have mixology seminars periodically, and I snagged spots for a friend and me a few days after they reopened. The cost is ~$180 per person and it is held inside the main bar area. They will also validate your parking. Arrive at least fifteen minutes before the start time at the check-in sign near the entrance. When it's time to enter, grab any available seat at the bar or any of the tables. Everything for making the drinks is set up ahead of time. You mix and garnish a cocktail and a mocktail. Kelly Merrell who is well known in tiki/cocktail circles guided the seminar. For an introductory mixology seminar, the format was great with a lot of basic cocktail education and interaction with the attendees. I've been making cocktails at home for a while and even picked up some helpful tips. The "Barrel of Mischief" cocktail we made had six different spirits, which was perfect for describing the different characteristics and some background on each. After mixing up the cocktail, you garnish it however you like from various options provided. The cocktail was very good. Even with all those different spirits, it was very balanced and not boozy and had some complexity. We also made a basic mocktail with lemon, simple syrup, and elderberry tonic. It was even garnished with a cute Mickey Mouse cucumber slice. Apparently, bars have been paying a lot more attention to mocktails lately, which is great for people who don't drink but still want to get the same experience. Once the seminar inside has completed, there is a reception for attendees across from the entrance in the Tangaroa Terrace outdoor patio area. The area was reserved and has tables, a large fireplace, and live music. We were served ahi tuna bites, Hawaiian fried rice, and a Taiyaki waffle fish filled with ice cream. We were also served a Miehana cocktail. Kelly and other Trader Sam's staff mingled with guests. Each attendee also received a Trader Sam's 15th anniversary mug a few weeks before its general release. I had a great time, learned a few tips, and I finally got to see the inside of Trader Sam's. Since reopening, they are now walk-in/waitlist only and no reservations, and they said it's actually easier to get in now. I'm looking forward to returning during regular hours for food and cocktails.

I am stunned that I've never written a review for here! This is for sure one of our go to rest and…read morerestore bars and small bites. Their cocktails are usually on point and NOT watered down. We typically look in the app for walk in openings or just ask if there are spots at the bar. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. They are a more upscale vibe with different seating styles. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The restroom is upstairs by the full restaurant and thehave an elevator next to the stairs if needed. For this last visit, drinks were great as usually and the food delicious. Their pork belly bao is always very tender and tasty. This is the first time we have the hummus pita thing and it was delicious! It was very refreshing and all the flavours worked well. Last but not least, the meatballs were good but not my favourite based on the very strong unique flavors to it. Overall we will be back. It's a nice rest stop at DCA

I tried the shrimp ceviche and was extremely letdown. The shrimp had not been marinated and lime long enough for it to actually been cooked through the sauce and pickled onion was delicious, but there was hardly any of it, and there was more of the black tortilla chip than shrimp. It was still tasty. I'm not gonna lie and obviously the drinks are always five stars, but the taste really lied in the avocado sauce with pickled onion not really the shrimp. As always, the people were there were extremely friendly in the ambience inviting.

Guys, if any of you follow me and you're looking for a great date-night spot, your lady would…read moredefinitely appreciate this one! RISE is located on the rooftop of the Westin Anaheim, right across from Disneyland. They have live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, which makes the atmosphere even better. I forgot our bartender's name, but he was very attentive. I had a friend meet me, and as soon as she sat down, he already had a menu ready for her. I definitely appreciated that kind of service. Now let's talk happy hour--YES! The crispy fries were so good, the pizza was amazing, and the drinks were absolutely on point. They also offer valet parking. I believe the first hour is free, but it can get a little pricey if you stay for a couple of hours like we did. And one of the best little bonuses: if you're there at the right time, you can watch the Disneyland fireworks from the rooftop! Such a nice touch to an already great night. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for date night, drinks with the girls, or happy hour with a view.

Heres where it went downhill. We waited 15 minutes without a table touch, greet, or water. We literally were about to leave until the server Evan finally arrived. He explained he was doing bottle service and did not see our table. Timing is def off. We got food and drinks literally at the same time even if we ordered drinks first. Truffle fries were good and tasty. The San Mariana Pizza was great! Burst of flavor! The cuban bites is hands down one of the worst dishes I tasted in my life. It was just mojo dressing everywhere. Views are good, but everyone runs to the front and blocks the view. Love the Westin hotel but this place is an aesthetic hype. Service from Evan underwhelming.
