Oh, it's a small and perfectly harmless little place--so you should definitely step inside. Don't concern yourself with what may happen once the door closes behind you. The theming is enchanting, from the décor to the beautifully crafted potions they call "drinks." The bartenders clearly possess forbidden knowledge, and you can taste the care, research, and perhaps a little sorcery poured into every glass. Yes, the prices carry the usual Disney curse, but the drinks are strong, the presentation is superb, and the experience is wickedly delightful. I highly recommend stopping in. We recently stayed at the Disneyland hotel and I had been wanting to try out this lounge. We do have kids ages 5 and 7. I wasn't sure how it would be with them, but our server was great and there were several other families with young kids there when we were. We did show up right when it opened and had no wait getting in. I had the risotto and my husband had the seasonal pizza with broccolini and prosciutto. He loved his pizza and mine was also delicious and huge! We could've easily split it. My kids split the turkey sandwich and enjoyed it as they do not have a kids menu here. I had such a good time here. The ambiance is nice. It's so dark it's hard to see the menu though. But you can take the table light and hold it up to your menu. The Raven's Wing, you would'nt know it's alcohol and could get you in trouble if you have a bunch. My pizza was a speciality one with broccolini and sliced parm ham. It was different so I went for it. And I tell you I would have this over and over again. The molten chocolate cake is okay, but I'm a chocolate snob so it was just okay for me. We came to Disneyland to enjoy a day in both parks. But we arrived the night before and celebrated my birthday at the Disneyland Hotel's Broken Spell Lounge. My family's experiences in community theater include SLEEPING BEAUTY on our resumes. "Make it pink. Make it blue." Although this quote shows up on the drinks menu, we all chose the Raven's Wing cocktail. SMOKY! Staff member, David, performed his magic by covering the cocktails and lighting them to bring on the effect. Wow!! Sam, our waiter extraordinaire, brought our menu choices: Southwest Chicken Salad, Broken Spell Cheeseburger and Steak Frites. Then she surprised me with a birthday cheesecake. I've been to Broken Spell Lounge twice now, and both times were fabulous! The first was on Super Bowl Sunday so it was a bit more loud and lively than I think it is normally -- they had a tv set up to watch the game, which was fun to do alongside our Sleeping Beauty-themed cocktails. The second time was on a normal night and the ambiance was quieter and more demure, more of a speakeasy feel. I loved both! As far as the drinks go, they are SUPER fun and imaginative! I've had the Make It Blue, Make It Pink (which changes color like Aurora's dress!), the Benevolent Faerie (a trio of red, blue, and green drinks inspired by the Sleeping Beauty fairies), and the Raven's Wing (a sweet meets smoky cocktail which is lit on fire at the table). All are absolutely delicious in different ways, but the Raven's Wing is my favorite. The fairy trio is definitely on the sweeter side, but the presentation is just ooooh, chef's kiss. (Or fairy's kiss, as the case may be.) It's beautiful inside -- not too big, not too small, but just right. (I know that's Goldilocks and not Sleeping Beauty, but it's true.) You feel like you're stepping inside a magical forest! Lots of deep greens, cutouts and paintings of trees, and touches of sparkle. The service is also impeccable! Everyone working here is so kind and helpful, and they really want to ensure that your experience is top notch. On my most recent visit, we were taken care of by Sam, Rich, and David, and they were all fantastic. They even brought out a surprise dessert to celebrate my mom's birthday! We recently visited the Broken Spell Lounge as the first stop on our Disney bar crawl. The atmosphere was classy and lowkey. The menu features drinks themed after Sleeping Beauty. There were not many people there even on a Friday night, so we were able to walk right in and grab a table. Our server, David D, took amazing care of us. We were in a bit of a time crunch because our table at Trader Sam's was ready a lot sooner than we had expected. David took our order, gave us our drinks, and rang us up very quickly. In total, we probably spent only around 15 minutes there, and David made the process seamless for us. Although we only had a few minutes to enjoy our drinks, each concoction was distinct enough to leave an impression after the quick round of sips we had before we had to chug our drinks. I will rapidly fire my thoughts as rapidly as we passed the glasses amongst each other. The Benevolent Faerie is a flight of three potions, crafted in the likeness of the fairies Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. My favorite was the green drink. On the nose, it was minty and refreshing. On the palate, a sweet, creamy matcha. The red one was decent. Sweet and tangy. I thought the blue one tasted like cough syrup and did not finish it.  The Make It Blue, Make It Pink, is a nod to Princess Aurora's color changing dress, and you can probably guess exactly what this drink does and what ingredients are included. That's right - Empress Gin and lemon juice. A small note I'd like to make is that anyone who orders this drink is more than likely doing it for the show - so a little warning before you pour the lemon juice for us to get our cameras would be nice. As you can see in the video, the drink was already a bit pink because we asked the runner to stop the pour (this is not about you David, don't worry). The Black Thorn Bramble would probably be the most universally palatable drink out of everything we ordered. You can't really go wrong with a fruity drink with a vodka base. Sweet and refreshing. But my favorite drink is probably the most polarizing of the bunch - the Raven's Wing. You get a little smoke and fire show at the start, and the smokey flavor is infused into your drink. The smoke hits you first and is followed by the sweet and tangy flavors of pineapple and prickly pear. I thought it was interesting and delicious.  I would definitely come back to the Broken Spell Lounge and hopefully be able to actually lounge next time. I was a bit irritated because our table at Trader Sam's wasn't even ready for us when we showed up and then our Trader Sam's server didn't even greet us for a long time after we were seated. I've been to Broken Spell a few times, mostly for drinks, but I recently had dinner here and was impressed! Broken Spell is located where Lobby Lounge (and previously Steakhouse 55) was in the Disneyland Hotel. This is definitely a classic lounge vibe with cozy lighting, low tables, soft chairs, and some bar seating. The aesthetic and details make you feel transported to a fairytale forest lounge. They have live music daily, which is a nice touch as you enjoy their offerings. The service is attentive and friendly (no surprise given the excellent service that you would expect at a Disney Resort). This place is still a bit of a hidden gem; during most of my experiences I was able to walk up and be seated instantly. However I recently stopped by during the holidays and wait times were up to 30-40 minutes for two people, and it was busy all evening. A quick breakdown of the items I've tried: - Make it Blue, Make it Pink (Empress Butterfly Gin, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Lemon Juice): Broken Spell's signature drink in my opinion. My first visit to Broken Spell was specifically to get this drink and I was not disappointed. I'm a big gin fan, and this is a tart and delicious cocktail--and the color changing effect really makes it a fun one. A must order! - Black Thorn Bramble (Tito's Handmade Vodka, Chambord Raspberry Liqueur, Cinnamon, Lemon Juice, garnished with Basil, Mint, Blackberries): The bramble is refreshing and fruity, and the mint helps give it a nice finish. I did have one that was very heavy on the blackberry, which tasted good but the texture of my beverage was more of a fruit salad than a tasty cocktail. - Five Golden Rings (Golden Eagle Vodka, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Ginger, Rosemary-Cranberry flavors, Edible Shimmer Glitter): *Holiday Menu only* This was a great beverage to have before and during dinner here. Not overly sweet, and has a lovely presentation. It sounds like this was on their holiday menu previously, so hoping they bring it back again! - Prickly Pear French 75 (Condesa Prickly Pear Gin, Piper Sonoma Brut, St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur, Sage Honey, Lemon Juice): *Holiday Menu only* Another wonderful themed drink for the holidays! The pear flavor was perfect (not syrupy or fake) and the sage honey was a great complement. - Ahi Tuna Tataki (Aji Amarillo Ponzu, Persillade, Crispy Wontons): Wow this one surprised me! The tuna was fresh and high quality, and the ponzu sauce was so yummy I could have had a cupful. A great plate to share between two people, or have all to yourself! - Steak Frites (Grilled Prime Flat Iron Steak, French Fries, Demi-glace): Overall this was tasty, but two small misses for me here: 1) the steak was very small for the price; 2) we were originally told they didn't have the demi-glace sauce-- however after we got our food, we were able to get a side of it and it was pretty disappointing. It tasted like very bland gravy; honestly the melted butter on top was much preferred! Though I would be willing to ask for the sauce again in the hopes it was an off night, since the flavor and doneness of the steak was perfect. The steak comes with their house truffle parmesan fries, which was a lovely addition; they are extra delicious! Like most places sprinkled with pixie dust, the wait and price is worth it for the quality of food, beverages, and overall experience. Thanks to a high recommendation from one next to us at the bar top at Oga's Cantina in Disneyland, we discovered this lounge (otherwise, we never would've considered this hotel bar). We were fortunate to land 2 seats at the bar top. Service was friendly and comfortably attentive. My Cheeseburger ($25), served with Fries, was generous in size, flavorful, and the attractive bun was soft and buttery. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his Wild Mushroom Risotto ($24), rich, creamy, and comfort-food worthy! We found the entrees to be rather reasonable for a hotel resort; the cocktail menu -- especially the whiskeys were (as to be expected) higher priced. Tried the Chili Chocolate Smoked Old Fashion and although it was good I felt Mezcal would have been a better pairing (group next to me mentioned the same thing). My husband and I had a Disney date last weekend. We stopped at Broken Spell Lounge where the formerly Steakhouse 55 Lounge. I had been meaning to check it out, but it's one of those places where if you did not know about it, you might miss it. We stopped in and asked to be seated. There were a few open tables and we asked to sit where there were cushy chairs, but we were told that it might be a communal table so we opted for a 4-top. My husband did not want to be seated so close to the entrance but TBH, it did not matter too much. Our server dropped off the menus and asked if we wanted some waters. We did and we looked at the menu. The nice thing about Disney restaurants and lounges is that the entrees are generally shareable and the drinks while pricey are really solid. I opted for the Benevolent Faerie ($23) and my husband had the Riesling ($8). As for food, we mulled it over and ordered the Prime beef French dip with fries ($34) with the horseradish cream on the side. I'm not the biggest horseradish fan so I felt that having it on the side was a safe choice. Our drinks arrived first and I was really happy with the Benevolent Faerie, named for the fairies in Sleeping Beauty, which is actually a flight of vodka-based glittery cocktails in red (mango-passionfruit), blue (blueberry-banana-coconut), and green (matcha-coconut). I had a sip of the Riesling, which was light, crisp, and refreshing. The sandwich and fries arrived soon after the drinks and I kind of wish they had cut it in half for us but it was served whole. The horseradish cream and au jus was served on the side. I had a bite with just the au jus and it was fairly salty, but when I spread some of the horseradish cream on it, it was delicious! The flavor profile expanded a little bit and it was so good. We both agreed that the horseradish cream was a must for this sandwich. The fries were kind of steak fries but were starchy. The food was really good and we had a lovely dinner enjoying the dark ambiance. We opted to grab dessert elsewhere. They take the Magic Key discount as it is part of the Disneyland Hotel. Hotel parking is validated by the restaurant but if you have a Magic Key and a park reservation, then you can save some money on parking by parking at either Toy Story or Mickey & Friends. read more

I had to take half to go. One son liked his fish 'n chips. The other super picky kid liked his chicken sandwich. The ambiance is nice. Cozy velour couches in pretty jewel tones and low lighting. I do wish they had some higher tables available for diners, but that's quibbling. It should be way more busy than it is. While sitting at Vista in Downtown Disney, sipping on our espresso martinis, my friend excitedly told me she'd seen something online about a new, secret, cute spot that we just *had* to try. After a bit of searching, she pulled up a screen shot she'd snagged a month ago, where the original poster had proclaimed this spot to be magical, mystical, unknown. Guys, it's literally the old Steakhouse 55 lounge. Did the original poster oversell this spot? Yes, definitely. Was it still a cute place to stop in for a quick second? Sure...if you know what you're getting into. Also, I should mention that when we'd talked about finding this place, what drove us was the mention of mocktails. I had no desire to get another cocktail, but was looking forward to something holiday-inspired and alcohol-free. I was also not hungry, so didn't plan on getting any food. So, of course, we ended up getting a speciality cocktail each and two small plates to share. Of course. The Pepperminit Kiss cocktails were $18 each. They were served in small glasses, but packed a punch. I mean, even the whipped cream was sauced. I took it slow, taking teeny tiny baby sips, thinking that'd help manage the alcohol. But, no...even the tiny sips numbed my face and made my head spin. The plates we ordered - Parmesan Truffle Fries ($18) and the Ahi Tuna Tataki ($29) did very little to help soak up the booze in my system. Also - we actually ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail ($29), but were served the ahi tuna instead. We debated sending it back, but I could tell my friend was happy about the mistake. The fries were crispy and truffle-y, which I enjoyed. The serving was generous, as well. I didn't love that they came with regular ketchup, but I'm not sure what sauce would have worked for a dip in its place. The tuna was okay, but kind of bland...? There were tiny dots of a sauce on the plate, and it came with a small serving of greens, which had more flavor than the tuna itself. They did sprinkle some sea salt over the pieces, which added a nice crunch, but the crispy wontons - removed because of my friend's gluten allergy - were sorely missed. I don't think I'd go back - I do still miss Steakhouse 55 so very much - but it's a nice little spot if you need somewhere to kick back for a minute. I'm surprised that people refer to it as a "secret" when it's literally right next to Goofy's Kitchen, but I guess that's a spin. read more

Had the chance to visit this lounge inside the Disney Hotel this past Saturday after spending the day at Disneyland. There wasn't a wait even though it was a Saturday night. Our group took a while to order, but our waitress was really patient with us, which I appreciated. We ordered Parmesan & Truffle Shoe String Fries, a Specialty Pizza (mushroom and balsamic glaze), chicken wings and some drinks! The food was really good and the waitress recommended I try Raven's Wing for a balanced but sweet drink and it was perfect. I enjoyed how the smoke garnish played into my olfactory senses but didn't change the flavor of the drink itself. I would return! On our recent trip to Disneyland, and as guests of the Disneyland Hotel, I learned of The Broken Spell Lounge just a day prior to arrival in Anaheim. This is a lovely Sleeping Beauty forrested theme lounge, and while it is small, we had no issue in waiting for a table both times we visited this Lounge. We went to the Broken Spell on our day of arrival, and David was an excellent server! I already knew I was going to order the charcuterie pizza, and asked David for a recommendation on cocktails. David recommended the Raven's Wing, and the presentation and smokey flavor did NOT disappoint. The charcuterie pizza was delicious and large enough to satisfy the appetite of two people with leftovers. I also tried the Benevolent Fairy drink which comes in three seperate potion glasses and was so much fun. While it was a great drink, I preferred the Raven's Wing! Server David was very kind and very attentive, checking on us regularly to ensure a great experience. On our last day, we stopped in on our way to the airport so we had our luggage. We were immediately seated, and greeted by a server named Gloria. When she saw our bags, she thought we were just arriving, and gave a very detailed rundown of the cocktails and food. If I could give this a 3.5 I would. There's no issue with the service, food quality or drink taste. I do believe that you could have a better experience somewhere else on property purely based on the drink and food offerings. The cost and limited options did not sell it for me. As an alternative, I would prefer Trader Sams or Palm Breeze bar at the new Disneyland Hotel Villas. The drink and food options offered at those locations are superior. The atmosphere at both are unique and the food menus are distinctly theirs. At Broken Spell Lounge, ee tried the chicken wings and two cocktails. Everything was great but the wings are also offered at Palm Breeze. I think I would have preferred a simple drink over there. But everyone that has their own preference. As for atmosphere, it is very cozy. And they really make the bar feel like a faithful tribute to Sleeping Beauty with the depiction of the forest on the walls. Overall I was very excited to try this lounge and I am happy that I did. But I do not think I would go out of my way to go back. It's decorated like a, dark forest sleeping beauty themed, and they've done a pretty good job of utilizing a small space to provide another experience. I generally don't really care for super sweet cocktails so I was a little apprehensive on ordering this one, but it was a cold winter night in SoCal and we were feeling the vibe. This cocktail bar has been on my must try list for so long since I saw their "Make it Pink, Make it Blue" cocktail on instagram, and I'm SO happy I finally got to check it out! I recently did a Disneyland trip with some friends. We were staying at the Disneyland hotel, so it was so convenient to grab drinks here. The vibe is so beautiful and pays homage to my favorite Disney princess, Sleeping Beauty. It truly is beautiful and the dim lighting adds to the vibes. The one negative is that it is sort of in their conference center area and feels just plopped in a random corner. But once you are sitting, it's very cool. I had to try the Make it Pink, Make it Blue drink. It's a gin based cocktail, which normally isn't my fav, but I really enjoyed this drink! It was tart and not too sweet and the presentation was a 10/10. My friends got martinis and enjoyed their drinks as well. We shared the truffle fries which tasted like an upscale McDonald's fry in the best way. Yum! This bar is a must try if you are in Disneyland, especially if you are a fan of Sleeping Beauty! read more

I love this place. My wife and I have had great nights at the bar and in the couch area. The steak is great the fries are tasty, staff is funny and engaging. Big disappointment tonight as we listened to the staff tell people walking up at 11:20 they were done serving people, the restaurants Disneyland APP hours are 4pm to 12am. They did last call for my wife and I around 11, the place was still pretty busy. If I paid to stay at the Disneyland Hotel and the official planning app told me a place was open until 12am, I would be disappointed to be turned away at 11:20. The host literally called across the room saying can these people order a drink and the bartenders said no we are done serving...A lot of these people save for years to come vacation at the park and the people who are supposed to create magic for the guests should at least do what is listed in the sales material, the app is the guide, people are basing their days on what it says. Again, my wife and I have always had a great time here, but the experience for these other guests is important, it was wrong. read more

This lounge is kind of new in Disneyland hotel. It is very nice atmosphere as Sleeping Beauty themed. You can't make a reservation. First come first serve. There were many opened tables when I went there but they didn't let us seat for more than 2 people tables. So all big tables were empty but few 2 people group were waiting for the table. That' didn't make sense to me. We found the bar so we didn't wait. Drinks were expensive. But they were all look fancy. Benevolent Fearie comes 3 different drinks which are imaged as fairies of sleeping beauty. They had eatable grittier. They looked very pretty. They were very sweet though. Shout out to Rico (the host) and David (our server). I really feel like Broken Spell doesn't get enough hype from the Disney influencers (although maybe that's a good thing). I'd just happened to see that they had a cute holiday drink so when some friends and I met in downtown Disney we decided to stop in for dinner and drinks. Rico the host was so kind and kept us updated on our table as we waited in and around the lobby Disneyland Hotel. He waited for a big high top table to open up so we could eat comfortably. Even so, the tables are pretty small, just fyi! Then our server David took great care of us. I had been burned a few nights prior by an old fashioned at Paseo that was too smoky. I asked him about the toasted marshmallow old fashioned and he promised to go light on the smoke and he definitely delivered. Such a delicious and fun drink. All the drinks here are so aesthetic. To eat, my husband got the shepherds pie and loved it and I had the turkey club. As always, I loved how packed this was, they definitely didn't scrimp on the turkey. stop #2 after the Palm Breeze we pulled up to the bar. soon after the music started and it was quite amazing! we each ordered 1 drink but were so tempted to stay and have 1 more but we wanted to have a trifecta date (stop #3 was trader sams) I had the chili chocolate old fashioned and hubby got the pork belly whisky flip. While both were amazing ...the pork belly whisky flip was beyond mindblowing! how does meat make a drink taste so amazing! next time i am ordering this for sure! i also am curious to try the Amanita muscaria (mushroom infused woodford reserve...) service was stellar ambiance was amazing!!!!! drinks were fabulous. read more

The lounge is located inside the Convention Center. It's a very cool, unique lounge. They have live music sometimes. Really liked the feeling of the place. Unfortunately, the place was quite dirty. The menu was sticky and there were crumbs all over the floor. We liked that the staff dressed well. We got the Barrel-Aged Smoked Old Fashioned for $26. The drink was delicious and smoky. Sadly it was a weak drink. You get delicious snacks with your drink. We would come back again if we're around the neighborhood. However, the drinks are expensive. read more

Unfortunately, this did not turn out to be anything that I thought it was. We got there early before it opened so we did it in the lobby for about 15 minutes. We got to enjoy a little show from some of the characters going into Goofy's kitchen. Once it opened, we sat pretty quickly. We went over the menu to see what we wanted to try and that's why I went downhill. All of their most popular items they no longer had because he said they did not have some of the ingredients to them. The whole reason for me going was to try out the cute drinks that I've seen all over social media so that was a bummer. So we placed another order for different drinks, and on top of that the gentleman that was serving us was new so he was being trained They brought out our drinks and again we did a whiskey flight and one of the drinks barely had anything in it. We already let us know that they ran out of that so we could pick another one from the three that we have on the flight so once we tried those, we picked another one that they had none of them were as good as the one that they ran out of. I ordered one of their Halloween specialty drinks that one is able to light on fire as I said the gentleman that was serving. The drinks with the young lady was being trained and he put too much of whatever it is that they throw on there to light it up and do a little show my drink tasted awful . The other drink we decided to order that was also one of the Halloween specials again. The ingredients did not mix well and it tasted awful. Unfortunately, I will not be going back here again, and I will not recommend this place to anybody. read more

This was my favorite stop of the night. The dim lit lounge creates a cool/chill ambiance topped off with live music (who were incredible). It's so nice because it had a "Disney" vibe without overly being "Disney." Service is quick and every person we interacted with elevated our experience. We were told they have a rotating specials menu so we got the holiday specials. Will definitely be making my way out here again soon read more

The Baseline: For a in hotel restaurant lounge it must have a good drink menu, excellent appetizers, and a stellar staff to bring out the experience. Food: The food was good and above the baseline but not at the amazing level. Had the Charcuterie Pizza, Wagyu Cheeseburger, and truffle fries. Disney please stop dressing up bag fries for your higher end food establishments. Drinks on the other hand rocked. My parties order was a Chili Chocolate Old Fashion and a "Make it Blue, Make it Pink" cocktail. Both worth trying out and drinking. I got the clearest ice cube I have ever had in a cocktail. Service: Awesome Disney Service! Tiffany was a great waitress and the water glasses were always full. Ambiance: The Lobby Lounge has been rebranded to the Broken Spell Lounge. The inside has a good Disney Magic feel to it. There was live jazz band entertainment and it only added greatly to the experience. read more

This was the last stop of the day after a long day in the parks. This place is nestled away in the Disneyland hotel, where the old Steakhouse 55 used to be. It was dark and quiet in all the best ways. Went on a weekday and it was not busy at all. It was a great way to wind down and relax after walking around for the day. The food and the drinks were great and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Food and drinks all came out in a timely manner. Can't wait to come back again. read more

I was so excited to try this place because it's been hyped all over social media. The power of ONE worker has made me never want to come Back here which is a shame. We got to sit down and our server came to us and I was ready to order a drink and I asked what were they drinking and she just said it's on the front page and that she would come back. It's like what the heck..: she gave us water and we order the drinks and when it came to food she said I will be back again. I change my drink order right away I get up and tell her and she asked where was I sitting. Like this is a small place and you literally took my order are you kidding me? Located in the Disneyland Hotel, this intimate setting is perfect for adults who love Disney, but might need a little break from the little ones! There's bar seating and comfortable tables and chairs located throughout the lounge, and the night we were there they had live music! Our bartenders and servers were phenomenal! The drinks menu is divine, but they have a bit of a limited food menu - no stress tho, because the food puts you in a trance. By far the best burger we've had on property! Don't snooze on your chance to check this spot out - it's beautifully done and the price points are fair for Disney. read more
