One word AMAZING and I never really made this kind of comments for any place but this place is really incredible. Our helper was amazing. The food is incredible. The drinks are perfect. The prices are just right and so is the location with the beautiful dining room great atmosphere with great music, next time I'm back in Pittsburgh I'll be coming back

Really enjoyed my time at this restaurant. I came on a Thursday early evening with a reservation. Probably could've gone away with that one around 630 but definitely by 8 PM, it got busy. The service was great and very attentive. Our waitress had great timing with refilling our water and asking if we wanted More cocktails. There were several complementary small dishes that came between our appetizer, dinner, and dessert. That was an amazing gift by the chef/restaurant. Honestly, I would've been satisfied just eating the complementary dishes lol. They included, a small soup, focaccia bread, Housemaid sausage, & more. We ordered the crispy octopus and pork cheeks for appetizer. The octopus was a bit too crispy, a good portion of the end tail was not really edible/couldn't even cut it with my knife because it was too cooked. The meaty part of the octopus was delicious. The lentils or whatever grains and vegetables that came with the octopus were fantastic! The pork cheek were perfect, absolutely nothing to say on that besides you should definitely get them. I ordered the wagyu eye for my entrée. One thing I noticed is that the waitress never asked how I wanted to steak done. I'm assuming that's because the chef has one way that they make it. I would've preferred if the steak was more rare. It was kind of between medium and medium rare. The seasonings were very good though. My partner got the fried chicken and that was very good. The greens that come with it are pretty sweet, it's definitely a high class southern entrée. And for dessert, we got the affogato, I loved the honeycombs on it! This restaurant is absolutely worth your time, belly, and money if you were thinking about coming. I hope my review helps you decide which foods to get!

From start to finish, we were not disappointed in the hype of Spork. The staff is so knowledgeable about every item on the menu. The amuse-bouche in between each course may have been one of my favorite parts of the entire experience. I wish I could go back and order a bowl of the cold mushroom soup that we started with....it is divine!! We started with the octopus appetizer because we both decided that we were going to try food outside of our normal comfort zone....let me tell you---ORDER IT! Every single bite on that plate was well balanced and delightful. We will definitely be going back and hope to enjoy something new from their next door season garden.

Prior to visiting Spork I do not have the greatest expectations, But! I am very happy to recommend them to your list of restaurants to experience. Maybe it's the location that misled my expectations but I went here for a work dinner. The ambiance is great classy decor and seating / table preparation. Our server was very knowledgeable on the menu and was loaded with recommendations! The menu has a very good array of seafood other meats with many cocktails/wines to complement! Check them out! Enjoy

Spork has been one of my favorite dining experiences in Pittsburgh for a little while now, and every time we go back it's just as good! The menu is all locally sourced and therefore changes frequently, and the food is prepared wonderfully. I recommend eating family style to be able to try as many things as possible. I was most impressed by the appetizers. We tried the octopus (my favorite & cooked perfectly!), compressed watermelon salad, pork cheek, & tomato salad. The only "miss" for me was the tomato salad because the others were all so interesting and flavorful. For large plates, we got the lamb (delicious as always), halibut, & fried chicken. In between each course you get an amuse bouche, of which the mushroom soup was my favorite. In addition to the fabulous food, the service at spork really stands out. The restaurant also has a good cocktail & wine list. It is a full fantastic dining experience, and I already can't wait to go back! Food: A Drinks: A- Service: A+ Ambiance: A-

Our favorite spot in the city. Incredibly kind and helpful staff, beautiful decor, and out of this world food. Apart from what you order, they bring many little plates to try, so it almost turns into a tasting menu experience. They also have table side cocktail making, which adds to the experience. Spork has a garden, so the herbs they use in the food and drink are fresh. This enhances the food even more. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Absolutely incredible dining experience. From the food to the service to the little "surprises" sprinkled throughout the meal. I can't speak highly enough of Spork.

This place is pretty good and they REALLY try. Appreciate that they are checking for vaccination and see that others have ding'ed them for this. I appreciate them doing this and this is why I thought it would be good to write a review for this place because they should be measured on that fact. Went there with the family. I was actually surprised that there were other families there as it didn't really seem like a menu that would attract the crowd. The lamb shank was good and had a good taste to it. There are a couple of pastas on the menu that were quite tasty. Wife had a fish dish that was quite delicate. Just a TOUCH under seasoned for our taste but nothing a flick of salt couldn't solve. We were eating all day so we skipped the appetizer course. Although, they did have two rounds of amuse bouche that were quite stellar. This is what I mean that they were really trying - expect this from a little more higher end restaurant and really shows the range of the chef. Specialty drinks were pretty good. They looked a little foo foo but they turned out quite good and happy happy. Cheers

If you are looking for a "Dining Experience", this is the place to go in Pittsburgh. James Beard nominated Chef Christian Frangiadis and his team prepare some of the most beautiful and tasteful dishes in the city. And Sean Enright's cocktails perfectly pair with every dish. From start to finish you will be led on a culinary adventure that you will never forget!

Spork has been on my list for forever and we finally checked it out - what a experience!!‍ - Our meal started with a tiny mushroom soup, yum! For small plates, we ordered Mushroom, Scallops and Octopus. Love their mushrooms, beautifully marinated and turned out to be super flavorful. Scallops were cooked perfectly cooked, and the tortellinis were the largest one I've seen, the filling was black truffle with ricotta, creamy but not heavy. The octopus though was a lil disappointing, flavor was good but texture-wise it's overcooked, the wasabi cabbage slaw underneath was surprisingly good! Then we were served the bread board! It was sooooo good, the focaccia and sourdough - Here come the Entrees! The presentation of Lamb Duo was a piece of art, came with a humongous plate Highly recommend to people loves lamb. Mushroom Raviolis, yes we loved their mushroom dishes so much that we picked it out of all their pastas! It did not disappoint! Each ravioli was almost same size as my palm lol, very fulfilling. Love the texture, especially with the crispy brussel sprouts and sunflower seeds! - Lastly, the 3 course dessert! We were so full at that point but we found some room for these babies. The lemon curd puff with fresh berry was very refreshing, we thought it's going be the best of all until we tried the mango berry sorbet! It came with a minty lemon gel, which made it to the top list! So good! Chocolate mousse bomb was yummy too. - House Cocktails Miso Guava and Milk Punch! I don't know why I didn't have high expectations for these, but they were so delicious, highly recommend both! - Overall a great experience. It's pricy but if you want to treat yourself or you are having a special occasion, then it would be a great choice and totally worth it!!

Spork might be my new favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh!! My boyfriend and I went for the first time a few weeks ago. We have heard great things about Spork for years, but never made it in. We made a reservation for a Friday date night, and literally couldn't have had a better experience. I knew the restaurant was expensive, so I wasn't sure what the ambience would be like. It was super quirky with celebrity prayer candles on each table. I loved that the kitchen was wide open so we could see (and smell) everything being prepared! I would love to sit at the bar facing the kitchen next time to watch them cook! We were the first ones there at 5 pm and ate for 2 hours. Our waitress Heather was very personable and friendly, and answered all of our menu questions. She was passionate about the menu and made great recommendations. I started with a glass of Malbec and my boyfriend tried the Dairy Air Milk Punch. Both drinks were great. We ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees since it was our first time there, but the portions were large! I started with the crispy octopus ($33-roasted red pepper spuma, crispy leeks, napa wasabi slaw, chorizo sausage), and my partner started with the Berkshire pork cheek ($25- spätzle, cider glacé, horseradish crème, crispy onions). We both were obsessed with the appetizers and could have eaten them as our meals. The octopus was so tender, except for the end which was too hard to eat. I think it was just for presentation, because I couldn't bite into it or cut it. The slaw was a mix of spicy from the wasabi, but cold in temperature. The flavors all paired together like nothing I've ever tasted before. This octopus was *chef's kiss*. My boyfriend raved about the pork cheek and said it was his favorite part of the meal. From the time you sit down, the staff brings over small bites from the kitchen to taste. This was really fun to try new things and made us feel special (even though everyone gets this treatment lol)! Some of the bites we tasted included: a mushroom/chickpea soup drizzled with chili oil, ratatouille on a cracker with grana padano cheese and fried leeks, and homemade focaccia (wasn't my favorite) with good Sicilian olive oil and seaweed churned butter (incredible). The board was sprinkled with salt and the presentation was beautiful for each dish! They also brought us warm buns that were amazing. I loved the roll much more than the focaccia. My favorite bite was the potato puff fried in duck fat with pureed crickets (I know...), and caviar on top. They should really offer a few of those as an appetizer because I would love to eat it again! Then we tasted homemade kombucha as a palate cleanser before our dinner came. I got the most beautiful pasta dish I've ever seen! Forest mushroom ravioli ($44- two cheese, tomato water, crispy brussels sprouts, koji seared mushrooms, ricotta salata, sunflower seeds, carrot crème). The raviolis were packed full of the savory mushroom filling. The carrot creme was also so unique and flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the wagyu eye ($84- black shallot mashed potatoes, grilled broccolini, fermented tomato hollandaise) and loved every bite of it. We were so full at this point, but still wanted to try their beautiful desserts. The Dessert ($28- 1. profiterole craquelin lemon curd (my favorite), with fresh berries, 2. chocolate umami bombe with tempered milk chocolate, chocolate espresso mousse, strawberry fluid gel, 3. vanilla génoise mango, strawberry, vanilla glacé bombe coconut cashew powder, dulce de leche crème, mint-berry fluid gel). Each dessert was straight off of a cooking/baking tv show. We were impressed with every bite. I loved the mix of sweet and savory! When more produce is in season, they use what they grow in their garden! Everything in the restaurant is farm to table and tastes fresh like the seasons. Our whole meal was absolutely incredible and we will never forget the experience! I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or just to treat yourself. They also have a happy hour at the bar with discounted drinks. I'm not sure if there is discounted food for happy hour too. It would also be fun to go to dinner with a few people so you could share some more appetizers. We will be back for a birthday or anniversary very soon! :)

The atmosphere is dark and intimate with a totally rad and almost New Orleans-ish flare to it. They allow smoking which is a bad thing if you don't like smoke hanging in the air, but it does add to the authentic old-timey bar feel if you're up for it. We came here for pre-dinner cocktails before heading over to Girasole (an amazing little old world Italian place) right next door. A fantastic pairing and the perfect night out. All in all, I would go here every weekend if I lived near. Since I have to make the trip by car service, it's saved for special occasions, which may just add to its overall charm for me.
