I have had nothing but bad experiences with their service department, specifically Kenny. I had my car towed on Friday night and a week later there is no solution. I have had this same issue with my car three times and the costs here seem extremely high compared to the other invoices I have. I simply requested to speak with someone regarding the estimate and have not been successful in doing so. Kenny, the service rep I was assigned to, is condescending, rude, not helpful. I requested to speak with someone else and they transferred me to someone who was not in. It seems they are purposely ignoring my calls. I am ready to have to car repaired and picked up, however I deserve an explanation on the costs. I do not recommend this branch to anyone I know. --I am happy to report that after discussing this with the manager, I was able to get my issue resolved! read more

On 7/26, I test drove a Lexus I saw on the AAA car buying website. Over the next two weeks, I would communicate with Pete Matthews multiple times via phone, text, and email expressing my intent to purchase, get the purchase order to my bank to cut a check, buy new insurance, get a new driver license, as I'm new to the city, and confirm the availability of the car. On August 4, I called one last time to make sure that the car was still available. He said it was, so I had my bank fedex a check, set to arrive Tuesday, August 8. On the 8th, I called to confirmed that the check had arrived, and I was told that the car was reserved and would be ready for pick up on Wednesday, August 9. Imagine my surprise when I get a call from a manager named Kyle saying that the car had been sold two days prior and that they didn't know how that could happen but he'd be happy to show me something else from the lot. No one contacted my when the car was sold! I said that I am absolutely not interested in anything else. As a result, I had to 1) go pick up the check, 2) fedex it BACK to the bank at my expense to pay off a loan on a car I never had in my possession, 3) REAPPLY for my loan, 4) ask for a special dispensation on interest rates because they'd gone up by the time I first applied, and 5) cancel the insurance I bought in anticipation of being able to drive it off the lot. And since then, we go nowhere but sport Chevrolet for all stuff related to our car, like oil change, services, battery change, new tires, etc. So far everything is awesome with them. I have my car there because it wasing driving right. They had my car for a month and a half. No one every contacted me and I had to constantly call to check the status of it. After waiting this long with no updates, I decided to take off from work and to there surprise I spoke to the owner, but he was in a meeting and ask if I could come back. Hell No!! You are have had my car over a month and you want me to come back. Then they tell me your car was ready three days ago, so I said when we're you going to tell me this. After a horrible interaction with one of the salesmen, he worked diligently to reverse the issue and took time out to address my concerns. Take your money elsewhere. My initial sales experience was great but it went downhill from there. Before purchase the vehicle was set to have some upholstery work so after the vehicle was purchased I took it back for this service to be done (3rd party). It took 2 weeks for them to "finish" this the headliner is still dropping and there are several other imperfections. Additionally the 3rd party discarded my inspection sticker. After notifying the dealership they took no responsibility for it until I came in person to which Vince (used sales manager) sat before me maskless with his feet on the desk and denied responsibility until I provided proof of the inspection, and then he only offered the $10 replacement fee without any solution to the complications associated with replacing the sticker. It was silly of me to assume the service department would be more professional, I scheduled a service here and after dropping my car off the preceding evening to ensure my service could be done in a timely fashion, I had to call to find the status of my vehicle before the close of business on the day of my appointment. When whatever services they thought they did was complete I had to return immediately because the requested service was not complete AT ALL and in addition to that my brakes were disconnected. After all of this I contacted a general manager to come up with a solution for all of these issues and I have yet to get a response. Don't waste your time and money here. If I could give them no stars I absolutely would. This is by far the worst dealership I have EVER dealt with. The customer service I received is absolutely atrocious. I purchased a 2013 Mercedes Benz ML 350 from a Chevrolet dealer and I should have known better. Everyone from the receptionist to the salesmen to the finance department are completely incompetent. After I purchased my car, I had several service lights come on. I called to find out what was going on, but no one cold tell me anything or give me a straight answer. Randy (who sold me the car) was extra friendly when he made the sale, but has not been helpful in the least in any way afterward. I've had to drive back to the dealership at least two other times for separate issues (e.g. didn't give me the correct manual, etc.). Our most recent conversation was horrible. They lied to me about the maintenance that was done on the car prior to my purchase. When I called to let them know, he wouldn't let me speak (cutting me off at every other word). He changed the story he originally told me and said whatever state inspection that was done was thorough and better than what a mercedes dealership service could have done. Impossible! How would he even know. He works at Chevy. I could go on and on. I'm completely furious. I'm going to definitely file a complaint with the BBB and any other site I can spread the word. read more

Well once again I returned to Sport Chevrolet to purchase a new pickup truck. On February 10, 2022 I made the deal to trade in my 2016 Silverado that I purchased from Sport in July od 2016. I had just short of 90,000 miles on the truck and although now may not have been the best market to purchase in, it was however a great time for the trade value of my 2016. The new 2021 Silverado (yes I bought a new 2021 not 2022) has options my old truck didn't and the old had some the new truck doesn't, I am still pleased with the purchase. My salesman, Eldon Charles has been my go to guy for over a decade for personal and even company vehicles. He treats me fairly and you would almost think we were old friends for life. He never tries to up sell me and always shows be the advantages of one new vehicle over the next. The sales manager Clint Rose has the most easy going approach to closing out the deals and then passed me off to Abel Rezene a finance manager who also quickly explained all finance options. He found the best and lowest interest rate then, shared all options for extended warranties an protection plans. Again no pressure to purchase anything not needed for my amount of use of this vehicle. I have purchased many cars over the years, some from other competitor locally as well as by other manufactures, but I will say Sport's team never disappoints to make the transaction seem quick and painless. I purchased my car a month ago, a used 2014 Chevrolet Sonic LT. The first few days I realized my breaks had problems. Next week, my heat went out, gears were getting stuck, engine light came on. Manager (Vince) has an "I don't care" attitude. No loaner cars, manager said he's not going to buy a rental for me but expects ME to pay out of pocket. I would have been in better spirits if he at least had a better attitude about helping me. On the positive side Mr. Clash was very considerate and helpful. The owner, Mr.Gibbs reached out to me immediately after my conversation with the manager. He was very kind, understanding and great at listening to all of my concerns. Very negative impression of them, based on initial inquiries with salespeople. I was interested in getting a new Chevy cargo van with certain options. I spoke to a salesman and I expressly told him I was interested in working with him to discuss the various options. Instead of responding to me like an intelligent consumer, this salesman immediately went into one of those silly sales gimmicks about "Well, you need to act fast, the current GM incentive program expires at the end of the month." Well, first of all, as anyone with the brains of a marsupial would know, although a given month's GM incentive program expires at that month's end, GM creates a NEW incentive program the NEXT month. While it's nice that GM offers these incentives (such as $1000 cashback and/or very-low-interest financing) it is no reason to RUSH a purchase in one month as opposed to the next. The way this salesman was pushing it, it was just a gimmick to try and motivate me to buy a.s.a.p. And second of all, I wasn't interested in jumping on the first van in their lot just to get an incentive. I was interested in sitting down with a knowledgeable salesman who could walk me through all the choices available and then go ahead and order a van to my specs. Obviously, this was not something the cheesy salesman at Sports Chevrolet could grasp. In contrast, when I called Ourisman Rockmont Chevrolet , the sales guy there IMMEDIATELY grasped what I was talking about. I went there, and we sat down in front of a computer and went thru all the options in an intelligent manner - with NO sales pressure whatsoever, NONE. I had to bring my car in for a recall repair and set up my appointment by phone. The employee asked for the make and model of my car, and when I suggested that I also give her the VIN # so that she could check to see what work needed to be done, she brushed me off. I assumed that this meant that she knew what work needed to be done on my car and it was going to be no problem. When I got to the dealership, not only had they lost my appointment, but they were completely unapologetic and seemed to be implying that I had never had an appointment. Not the end of the world but certainly not a great first impression. The receptionist did manage to get me in with the next available service technician, but I still had about a 20 minute wait. As soon as the technician saw what work I needed to have done he told me that they didn't have the necessary part. When I asked when the part would be available, he said he had no idea and that they had only received something like three of them in the last nine months. Again, no apology or concern for the wasted time/energy it took me to get to the dealership. If this part was so obviously rare, why did they let me schedule an appointment? Shouldn't they at least have checked to see if there might be an issue? Given that they completely dropped the ball, I really felt that some apology on their part would have been totally appropriate. I left Sports Chevrolet extremely frustrated and do not plan to return. read more

The service department is atrocious. If I didn't have a free maintenance plan I would never come back here. Three hours for an oil change once, another time it was two hours. No explanation other than "there are people ahead of you" or some random excuse. I had a piece of my control panel on my steering wheel fall off. I knew it had to be replaced so I took it in. It took the brilliant minds here 3 hours to tell me it needed to be replaced and that they would have to order a new one...At least they have two waiting rooms. What is the point of having an appointment if I can't even be seen within a reasonable time? Stay away, at least from the service department. One star because of the multiple bad experiences and because I can't give it a 0. Let me stress one more time, stay away. read more

I gave it a 1 because of the poor attention we received at the service department. I have taken my Equinox in for the same issue several times and they couldn't find out what the issue was. It was minor so I let it go but then other issues that indicated electronic or computer problems began to pop up. I scheduled an appt and when I arrived they told me it might take hours to look at my vehicle because they were busy and I would have to leave it. First, I had an appt. Two, no one told us that I might have to leave it or my husband would have driven me there. Third, they have no loaners so Carlos said I would have to rent a car (impossible on a Saturday morning). We left with a promise from Carlos that all we had to do was call him and leave a message and bring it in when we can. He never returned our calls so my husband spoke to the manager. He said he was scheduling us for the following Saturday. Guess what, we showed up and there was NO APPOINTMENT. This time we were prepared and had brought another vehicle. They kept the car for 2 days and never calls with status updates. My husband had to threaten to call BBB when we finally got a call saying they couldn't find the issues. Funny thing is 1 mile away from the dealership, the issues began again. Now, a few weeks later, my battery has died twice on a 2019 Equinox and they tell me they cannot service it for 2 weeks. No one else will touch the battery because of the way Chevy has wires attached to it. Even with jumps, the battery is not lasting and there are issues. Again, no loaners, no service and a useless warranty. I have a called the service manager but have no hope any satisfaction there since we didn't get any the last time. I IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE OWNER GIBBS FOGARTY AFTER POSTING THIS REVIEW. HE WAS VERY NICE, UNDERSTANDING AND PROMISED TO DO EVERYTHING HE COULD TO HELP ME. After my previous review, the General Manager reached out to me. I appreciated the gesture, but was not interested in giving them another chance. However, I found myself in a situation where I had to go back for something tied to the purchase of my vehicle. I met another Service Advisor, who I thought couldn't be as bad as the first - right? Well, after purchasing a used vehicle at Sport, I have to lower my review. First off, I believe I was ripped off with my trade in. The car was having issues when I sold it to them, but it was a 2005 Cadillac STS with less than 100,000 miles and should have gotten me more than $4,000 on the trade in even with the problems it was having. I got called an idiot by another dealer for selling the car for that low a price and they were right. Lastly, they gave me what was probably the worst interest rate I have ever seen on a car loan with an 18%. My credit was not that bad, so there wasn't any reason GMC financial should have charged me that amount. On top of that, they didn't even try my bank which I later refinanced with and got an interest rate of 6% (dropping the monthly payment from $329 to $237, a drop of nearly $100). This leads me to believe that I was being fooled because they refused to use my bank at the time for some reason that they refused to tell me. Since I needed a car ASAP and they knew it (at least the Salesman did), they felt they could stick me with whatever they wanted to give me at the time. read more

Eric was good at his job, but when it came to the end I didn't expect an almost $5000 added to the vehicle. They said I can cancel the protection package within 90 days but what a price tag. A $16,000 car turn into a $20,000 vehicle. I haven't financed a car since 2001 so maybe things have drastically changed since then. I'm only okay with my purchase but there some unsettled feeling about it. I know I am paying way too much for this vehicle, but it is what it is. I don't plan on doing this again until the wheels, doors, roof, etc literally fall off this vehicle. I would recommend them to others but the whole we don't negotiate on certified vehicles part I would recommend others to skip those vehicles because you pay for it being "certified" then you're hit with a protection package on top of that so if it is so "certified" why the the extra, extra protection? read more

Updated rating to 3 stars (A-OK). Taken the car back twice since first maintenance & seen a dramatic improvement in service. We've received a loaner while it's being checked for bugs in the computer/nav section. And it's been lovely and clean after service. We've been working with Randy since our first maintenance and he's been responsive and helpful. So the navigation problems with the Volt have continued. It would frequently but intermittently not initialize and just spin. Tough to deal with when you have a terrible sense of direction and a baby who hates the car seat. It has failed at inopportune times, like getting my sister to the airport in VA for an international flight. It has also been reading directions out wrong when it does work - again intermittently but often. So when I should take a right, and the highlighted route says to take a right, the system will announce "take a left" and so on. We got the car back last week with the Nav data wiped and reinstalled. So far I've done one return drive with the navigation system& it has started but it has read the directions out wrong. This is my first new car. It's one year old and under warranty. I'm not sure what you do from here. A non-functioning or no GPS would have been a deal breaker in purchasing it (see my afore mentioned lack of direction). I'm going to drive again and double check it's still having an error,& we'll see what can happen. Sadly likely to have more experiences to report on ---------------------------- We bought a new car at Sport Chevrolet. The sales person had some difficulty explaining the features and how they worked, but we were happy enough with the vehicle and it was one of the few places nearby with one in stock. I just took the car back for its first maintenance and the experience with the servicing department was awful. My appointment was at 9:30am and I expected to spend 1-2 hours, but once I got there I was strongly encouraged to leave the car and told it could be a few hours. I was dropped at home by the shuttle and waited and waited. I was hoping to get a call at least after lunch time as I had appointments beginning at 3pm. When I didn't hear anything by 4:45pm I called to see what was going on with the car. The servicing person told me they'd done their servicing but couldn't seem to find the problem I'd explained when I dropped it off. I could come back and get it. No apology or explanation as to why he had never called me back to tell me it was ready. I scheduled the shuttle and was told it would be here within the hour, and I'd get a call when it was on the way and a second call when it was outside. An hour later, with no calls, I called back and was told they left 20 mins ago so it would be there any minute. The shuttle finally arrived 2 hours after I called and scheduled it. The paperwork I got said they had spent a total of one hour on the car and that I was guaranteed it back at 5pm (5pm never communicated to me). I queried why it had taken all day if they only spent an hour doing it and I had an appointment at 9:30am but I was told they did a tyre rotation, too, as if that explained 8 hours in the shop. They were completely unconcerned and unapologetic for wasting my entire day spent waiting around for them and their shuttle (and arranging childcare to get out in the evening). The car itself had its windows all rolled down when I got it and it smelled bad. When I got home I asked my husband to check out the funky smell, since I am sensitive to smells in general, and he said it just smelled a bit of chemicals to him, though he didn't know why anyone would have spent much time in it. He did comment that he was disappointed the windows don't get cleaned, floors don't get vacuumed etc -- I don't know if that's something one should expect, but it's what he's used to at Jiffy Lube. He was also disappointed that they had the car all day and didn't charge it for us since we were showed their fancy Level 2 charger on site when we bought the car. Overall, a very frustrating experience and a massive waste of a day waiting around. No communication at all - over the car or the shuttle without me calling to ask and follow-up, and little interest in general, certainly no indication that this was anything out of the ordinary or a situation worth apologizing for. What should have been a morning only appointment, starting at 9:30am left me waiting all day and finally getting home with my vehicle at 7:30pm having accomplished an oil change, tyre rotation, fluid level check, and reprogramming my key. I will only be going back because we have a service/maintenance package with them. None of the problems we've been experiencing with the new vehicle were addressed (including gos not working). The service guy said maybe there's be a software update to help with glitches before our warranty expires. Not really acceptable when I need to carry an external gps for a brand new car that cost over $36k and is under warranty. read more

Horrible sales force. Better show up with a suitcase with cash in it if you want to test drive a Vette. I am between buying a Cadillac CTS-V and a Corvette. I was test driving a CTS-V and drove it to Sport Chevrolet to test drive it next to the Z06. The salesman said we would have to schedule an appointment next week if we wanted to test drive the car. Even after I told him we were going to buy either the CTS-V or Corvette he treated us like we were teenagers out for a joy ride. Needless to say, if I pick the Corvette over the CTS-V I will not be buying that Vette through Sport Chevrolet. read more

This review is for performance car repair only. I have been to this dealership for years, and will recommend this dealership to anyone with a Corvette or high performance Camaro. Derek Selden is a guy with true credentials and the show cars to prove it. I have seen enough people who only bring their classic and high performance Corvettes, Camaros, Cadillacs etc. to this shop, that I was convinced to do the same. I've never felt more taken care of by another dealer, and it's the only place that I'll go. Just make sure you don't come on a busy day - the wait can be a little on the long side. Free shuttles to the metro make it a little easier, but this place can get crowded. Consider yourself warned. read more

On Tuesday, September 6th I went in for service as I live across from the dealership and my tire light came on and I could tell it was a slow leak. I have the tire protection plan and had to take off work to get the tire fixed. Around 12:45 pm I got there and Sterling the Service Advisor was at the counter and I asked if it would be possible to have someone look at my tire as it was an emergency and I have the tire protection plan and need to figure out the next move. Sterling asked if I had an appointment I said no but can some take a look real quick to see if anything was in my tire. He asked if I had an appointment and I said no as how can I anticipate having a flat tire and I assumed since this would be treated as an emergency especially since I paid for the tire protection plan. He told me you don't have an appointment therefore we can't see you. He was extremely rude and condescending to me and he literally told me "Well you can go to NTB." I told him I have the tire protection, a service I paid for just for these instances and you are telling me to go somewhere else. I was angry at this point and having a customer service background his tone and delivery were not right. I asked when I appointment was available and he told me a lady's name and didn't even point me how to find her. She was nice but told me the next appointment was Saturday and it was Tuesday which was unacceptable. I left at that point angry and ended up going to AutoNation in Laurel where the Service Team was friendly and fit me in and was done in less than an hour. DO NOT GO TO SPORT CHEVROLET IN SILVER SPRING, MD and if that is how having the tire protection plan implemented don't waste your money buying the plan either. I live across from the dealership and will be driving to AutoNation in Laurel for my car needs. read more

Edit for Yelp. So I felt bad, leaving these reviews across all their pages, but upon further inspection, I can see clearly that the oil is coming from the oil drain plug. As soon as I got my head up underneath the car, a big ole drop spilled right from the plug, the plug is covered in oil. Their lube tech either failed to inspect the gasket on the drain plug before replacing it, or tightened it too tight. Either way, the following is how I was treated trying to get the problem taken care of: I wish I could recommend. I will probably never return after this last visit. After this past visit 2 days ago, for an oil change, The next day, Yesterday, I find that my car is leaking oil. Big ole puddle underneath my car. Looks like it's coming from the drain plug. Big Deal, but no big deal about it. I call the service center and ask how it can be rectified. I'm told to bring it in. I drive my car over, Get there just after 5pm and am met by a tall, bald guy who tells me in so many words, the guys he has back there that are available to examine my oil drain plug aren't the best guys, and just incase it's my oil pan (I'm assuming he meant the gasket, but it's also a 5 year old, late model vehicle, driven 15k miles a year to the T... And was not leaking before this change.) He wants me to bring it back in tomorrow. So, in so many words, despite this being a potential huge problem on their end, and mine, and something that could have probably been quickly rectified with a quick drive over a lift or a pit to examine the drain plug, oil filter, and a quick top off of my engine oil, apparently after 5pm, No mechanic in the sports chevrolet service department is qualified to do that work, and their service desk will turn you away with an engine leaking oil after a job they performed, and after telling you to come in to fix the problem. Yeah, Stay FAR away from this service department. Being turned away for even a day with an engine leaking oil after a job they performed? Not even being willing to pull someone to take 5 minutes to look at the most simple components on the car with some of the most major implications. I would've waited. I wasn't given that option. The service desk actually saying that the guys available when I got there aren't worth their salt enough to examine an OIL DRAIN PLUG/OIL FILTER? If you're going to plant the seed for an upsell in service, at least do the work to qualify my vehicle as something that would need that repair instead just saying "it could be", despite me telling you to your face "It looks like it's coming from the drain plug". Terrible service, and obviously they don't care enough about the integrity of my engine to warrant giving them my business again. read more

It's one thing to charge highway robbery as a dealership for repairs. It's an entire different thing to lie and attempt to steal money from a customers as if we can't add or read to know the difference between what we owe and what we are charged... then not to answer or return call. #unacceptable! read more

I purchased a new vehicle here and was fairly pleased with the process. It was a total of about 3 hours from start to finish. I've been to the service department twice for routine maintenance and yes, be patient, because you will have to take a seat and wait. Knowing this, Call and grab yourself an appointment. 1-2 hours for a scheduled oil change. The service department is very busy but the staff is attentive and friendly. I think I saw a courtesy vehicle shuttle people out to work or home. I'll continue to return for future maintenance and If I purchase another Chevrolet again I wouldn't hesitate to buy it from Sport. read more

I had a great experience at this dealership. Antonio Johnson my sales agent. I was looking at four different types of cars and the Chevy Sonic was my first stop. He let me test drive the car and ran the numbers for me and then I left to go test drive the other vehicles. I didn't expect to purchase the Sonic because I thought I wanted another small SUV. However the Sonic was surprisingly roomy and I liked the way it handled better than the other cars I drove. More than that, I didn't feel comfortable with the other dealerships or sales agents.
