As far as bars go this one could be everything you're looking for. It's a dimly-lit, typical looking watering Hole. There wasn't anything that stood out about it except for they installed power outlets at every machine so you can charge your device while you're there. Cool beans! The bartender was very personable and the service was prompt the whole night. I had a "Spicy Fatty burger" which was very tasty It definitely satisfied my craving for a good burger. I freely played music on the jukebox but it seemed I didn't have to play much because they were already playing the songs I would have played anyway...another plus. The drinks were flowing all night and it was the pretty good visit with no complaints. It wasn't very crowded in there I'm not sure if that's because of the out-of-the-way location of this bar. There was a very odd 4% "surcharge" they added to my bill. I was too inebriated to inquire...or even care at that point. But it's worth mentioning in case you want to ask why and maybe even have it removed.

Had the pull pork tatters. Very good The place is clean. Doug was the bartender. He was busy but still able to handle a difficult person like me

Nom nom nom! The kids' cheese pizza is enormous and only $6.99!

this is a great neighborhood pub and the food is quite good. They finally started doing happy hour food specials maybe a year ago? It's from 3-6 and I think they have a reverse happy hour. Bloody mary $3, domestic beer $2, the appetizers are a good deal of $4.99 and you get a really big serving. Their nachos are very good, so are the mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers, the last of which is not even on their regular menu. The house salad on HH is by far the best deal, and it is fresh and ENORMOUS (see my pic.) It's 3 meals for sure. My favorite entree is the vegetarian wrap, because of the freshness of their ingredients and it even has artichoke hearts. It is huge, I always end up taking half home for lunch the next day. They used to have tilapia and would make me fish tacos but they stopped ordering the fish. I really wish they would put fish tacos on their regular menu, they were REALLY good and I miss them. The Kids' pizza, believe it or not, is an enormous portion (no way a kid can eat even half of it), and it is cheese and fresh garlic. I order it often and it's only $6.99 for a big pie. The kids' macaroni and cheese comes out in a huge white bowl and it is very good, creamy homemade cheese with elbow macaroni. The person who really makes the food incredible is their night chef, Sam. He is very passionate about cooking and he will come out and talk to you about the food and how he prepares it etc. He's a friendly guy, you gotta like him. Kolleen is the best bartender ever. Not only is she kind and friendly, but is really on top of things when it comes to service. I say the same thing about Leah, great person, friendly and professional. Heather works as a server usually in the evenings and we all love her, she is fast, friendly and efficient. Justin is awesome too...except when the Titans play the Bears. Booo. ;) Stan and Nick are usually the late night bartenders and I've always gotten good, friendly service from them. They built a new "Man Cave" lounge which is a great addition to this place. it is a very comfy lounge area with black leather couches and plenty of HD flat screen tvs. I've watched many a- Bears games in this Man Cave with a large group of friends and we have always received the best service, hands down. A bonus, the man cave is smoke-free. The bar tends to get really smokey but they have a nice outdoor seating area to escape from the smoke. (well, as long as it isn't 120 freakin degrees outside). Be sure to give this place a try, I've been a regular for years and have never been disappointed.

My review is strictly based off of the restaurant portion -- not about their bar or anything. As far as I know, when they have happy hour for drinks, it's mostly just beer and stuff. They have steggs (steak & eggs) all day for $5.99 and it's actually GOOD. Not like the the crappy steggs at Southpoint (although that is cheaper) but quality trumps the cheaper in this case! I've never had a problem with their service. Love the guy that usually serves us, too. They also have happy hour (food) specials from 3-6pm and 11pm-2am daily. Domestic beer $2 & Bloody Mary $3 and they've got some appetizer-type food for $4.99 each. I've yet to try most of their HH food but I did have the nachos and that was such a huge portion! HH Specials: wings n fries, chicken fingers, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, zucchini sticks, breaded mushrooms, nacho del grande, onion rings, & house salad. It's also close to my house and a perfect place for some late night nomming. :0)

    Omg! Love this place!

Great bar and great bartenders! I've never won much at slots ever but I won at Ace! Over a grand off the slots?! Amazingness! Not only are the slots fun and obviously pay out but the service is phenomenal and food? Delicious! Love this place and love that it's so close by. Our favorite bartender, hands down, is Scott. Super friendly and attentive! He always looks out for us and never leaves us wanting. Best bar on the southwest side of town.

What a great "around the corner" local bar that pours nice drinks, provides friendly service and great bar food to boot. So far I've had a slice, nachos and their fries. Everything comes out fresh and hot and hits the spot. They've got a TouchTunes and a pool table as well. Aces sticks to the basics of a good local (non-commercial) bar in a way that is cozy, comforting and warm. Thanks Aces!

    Huge Loaded Taters!

Stopped in to the neighborhood bar and found they have a new menu with huge loaded potatoes called Mister Tater. They were on point. Pair with a cold tap beer, and man I'm in heaven!

Vibe: Sophisticated, Professional, and Energetic…read more For anyone looking to impress a client, close a deal, or celebrate a milestone with colleagues, finding the right venue for a business lunch can be a delicate balancing act. You need an environment that is sophisticated but not stuffy, lively but quiet enough for serious conversation, and supported by a culinary program that commands respect. The George Sportsmanship Lounge delivers on all of these fronts with remarkable grace, redefining what a modern business lunch can--and should--be. The Atmosphere: Polished Athletic Heritage Meets Executive Comfort Walking into George, you are immediately struck by how masterfully the design bridges the gap between a high-end club and a refined, modern lounge. The decor pays a tasteful, artistic homage to the spirit of "sportsmanship"--think rich leather banquettes, beautifully curated vintage sporting photography, warm walnut accents, and low, ambient lighting that feels incredibly exclusive. For a business lunch, the layout is exceptionally well-thought-out. The seating is spaced generously to offer genuine privacy for confidential conversations, and the acoustics are engineered beautifully; there is a vibrant hum of energy in the room, yet you never have to raise your voice to be heard across the table. It strikes the perfect balance of prestige and approachable comfort. The Food: A Masterclass in Contemporary American Cuisine While the ambiance sets the stage, the culinary execution is the true star of the show. The menu at George elevated our business lunch from a standard meeting into a memorable dining experience. We started with the Yellowtail Crudo, which was exceptionally fresh, accented with a vibrant citrus-yuzu vinaigrette and thinly sliced serrano peppers--a light, refreshing starter that perfectly primed the palate. For the mains, our table ordered the Dry-Aged Ribeye Frites and the Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass: The Ribeye: Cooked to a flawless medium-rare, the steak boasted an incredible crust and a rich, deeply savory flavor profile. Accompanied by truffle-infused hand-cut frites and a velvety chimichurri, it was a decadent but perfectly portioned lunch masterpiece. The Sea Bass: This dish was a revelation. Flaky, buttery, and resting on a bed of ginger-infused heirloom grains and baby bok choy, it was light enough for a midday meal while remaining deeply satisfying and complex in flavor. Even the non-alcoholic beverage program deserved applause; their mocktails, particularly the cucumber-basil press, were sophisticated and felt just as celebratory as a traditional cocktail. The Service: Impeccable, Swift, and Discreet Great food can easily be overshadowed by poor service, but at George, the staff understands the rhythm of a business lunch. From the moment we were greeted by the host, the service was seamless. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering precise recommendations and timing the courses beautifully. Crucially for a business meeting, the staff practiced "discreet hospitality"--they were highly attentive, ensuring water glasses were always filled and plates were cleared promptly, yet they never interrupted the flow of our conversation at critical moments. The entire meal was paced perfectly, wrapping up within a comfortable 75 minutes, leaving us plenty of time to return to the office without feeling rushed. The Verdict The George Sportsmanship Lounge successfully shatters the mold of the traditional, outdated steakhouse business lunch. By combining a stunningly curated, upscale atmosphere with world-class gastronomy and highly professional service, they have created the ultimate venue for the modern executive. It is a masterclass in hospitality, and it has easily secured its spot as my go-to recommendation for lunch meetings. Highly Recommended for: Client entertainment, executive team lunches, and power midday dining.

There's also a nice couch section with a round center table where I saw a group of friends enjoy their visit. If you're into sports, there's several televisions around the perimeter that provide good view of the action. As my first time here, the staff is very kind in explaining how the process works. I was told that you can enter your phone number and then it allows you to scan the QR code on the table for food. The alternative is to walk up to the front counter to order. I wanted to learn how to do this process so I tried. I added the food item to the cart on my phone but when it came to checkout, I was unsure how to proceed. It asked me to add a credit card, yet I already had one opened on file for my visit. I went back up to the front and the team member was unsure so we handled the entire food ordering up front. I put in an order for the chili nachos and the size was quite decent with a lot of toppings. It's a good shareable to start. I also tried the sweet potato fries which I asked for more well done to ensure that they come out with some crisp. The sweet potato fries were actually a waffle and they did come out nice, hot and crispy - so that is a winner of an app! The pour yourself concept is interesting and it's nice that each sign provides information about the content and more info if you tap the screen - such as the general beer taste description. The glass shelf has several options. I didn't see any cold glasses which would have been a plus. The staff member said that you can sample beers by just pouring a little, but there were no small shot glasses to do this. Therefore, I was compelled to just go for it and pour 3 ounces to try a light lager. Sitting back at the table, I was almost certain that a new glass would be required for each visit. However, I saw everyone bring their own glass back up to refill each time. I didn't see any clear signage on site that explained the process. If refills are allowed - then I think that additional signage should also explain pouring etiquette as well. There's a water station for self serve as well. I appreciate the lids and straws that are also at the station. I would have loved to have some ice readily available but I'm sure it's probably just an ask as I saw others have ice in their drinks. The pricing per ounce reminds me of a self serve yogurt place in that the amount you get actually feels more expensive in the end. The per ounce feel makes you think it's a good deal, but it's on par or a hair over other places that pour for you. Overall, I think this is a cool concept to try and to show out of town friends if they don't have anything like this in their area. Also - I can see this being a great place if friends are going dutch as they can use their own card and everyone is responsible for their share. Lastly, if you don't like to commit 16 oz to just one beer, this is a great way to try several beers in one sitting.

But let's get straight to the issue- the HOSPITALITY! I don't like being negative- I want local businesses to thrive and reach more people, but I need to add this bit of criticism- Lately, coming here feels like you're rolling the dice- and going out to eat and being treated well shouldn't have to feel like a gamble. When I dine here, I don't feel welcome. The bartenders make it clear that they cater to some regulars more than others. It takes the bartender half an hour to get us started with drinks and a menu to look at the food. It's crazy- I come here so often know some of this establishment's staff by name now and yet, I'm met with this recent disservice- The other night I arrive here with my girlfriend to grab some food around 1 am. I see the bartender, Ryan, zooming around, refilling beer and shots, going in and out of the kitchen. It's not that busy of a Friday night- maybe a handful of couples and groups all sitting at the bar. He passed SEVERAL times by me, no acknowledgement, no "Hey, bear with me, I'll be right with ya." 1:30. He finally comes to us apologizing, gets us started on drinks and hands us the menu. We take a couple of minutes to decide. He stands around by the Pos and talks to another bartender (Andrew I think?), who came from the kitchen, then immediately left. Another 10-15 minutes pass. By this point, I was wondering if I should just walk out. Finally, Ryan comes to take our orders. Typically, a server or bartender leads the conversation, right? I'm sure you hear things like "what can I get started for you," or "how would you like your eggs cooked" or "how would you like your Steak cooked" - You've all heard those before, right? Well- nothing. No cue. No asking anything. It felt awkward. Uncomfortable. Unwelcoming. I don't even know if he was paying attention. At one point, it was ME who was the one asking my girlfriend "How do you want your eggs cooked?" when she asked to get the Steak and Eggs because there was ZERO response coming from our bartender to anything we said. The energy felt COMPLETELY off, so I just asked then and there for the check and left off to grab some Cane's instead. An absolutely dismal experience. I don't like making my reviews about me, but I felt like I needed to explain exactly why I'm upset about my recent visits here so anyone reading this can better understand instead of just reading a vague mention of how rude the staff was. Let's get to the Good Bar Bites I recommend if you do come here (maybe day time could give you a different experience): WSKY Burger- I recommend a medium on the patty! Very juicy- the crunch of the onion rings and candied bacon- One of my favorite burgers! Steakhouse sliders- tasty and sharable mini burgers! Although- I need some clarification- Can modifications be made to this dish? One day, while ordering over the phone, a bartender named Zach told me I cannot add an extra slider (I wanted 4 sliders instead of just the 3 that come on the order), I'd have to purchase two whole orders if I wanted more. What's this about? I've never had that issue before, so just curious. Flatbread Pizza- of course pizza is always awesome to munch on. The crunch on the flatbread is so satisfying I honestly don't think I'll be coming here anytime soon. It sucks. The bar looks beautiful, the food is delicious. But why have I been treated like an outsider lately? It's not worth going to a place, even if it has good food, if you're not going to be treated well.

The flavor makes it one of my favorite drinks. The ambience is amazing this place has such amazing decor, a great personality, and feels comfortable and inviting. The food here is amazing and never disappoins, I havent had too much on the menu since I don't eat pork or Shellfish but the items I have gotten like the beer batter pretzels and the hot fried chicken sandwich haven't disappointed. The quality is amazing and you can definitely tell the chefs in the back put in tons of effort and love on the food. I sit at the bar and the bartenders are always good, I haven't caught their names but I have come on different occasions and none of them have ever given me bad service. They're all so inviting and kind and always make sure I have everything I need. I tend to overtip of leave a 22-30% tip cause they deserve it for their amazing work. Dare I say its been a Masterclass experience coming here? Yes, weather you come here for late night drinks and happy hour or their lunch you won't be disappointed! Thank you 595 for the Masterclass experience!

I am in love with most anything they do with pork belly. The beer and cocktail menus are among the best options in town. This is a place where they take pride in your cocktails and spend more time curating their beer menu for one week than most do in ten years. The vibe inside is a friendly and welcoming community that cheers on the home teams and is always willing to strike up conversations with strangers about their beer. Matt and his bar staff will make you feel at home and like a regular in no time. Amy and the serving staff are fun to joke with, make sure your glass is never empty and your belly is always full. Overall, you can't go wrong with 595. Their food is great, the drinks are outstanding and the stuff hits a bases loaded home run every time.

We ordered a few dishes to share and loved how creative everything was. It's Japanese-American fusion, so you'll see fun twists like wagyu sliders, wagyu sandos, uni pasta, nori's, and miso black cod. service was great! everyone so friendly and attentive. It felt like the perfect mix of dinner + lounge energy. Not quite a club, not just a restaurant -- somewhere in between where you can eat, sip, and hang out for hours. they have a live DJ and it was playing the best music! P.S. the owner is chef winston from Omakase Kyara so you know the food is good here!

Chef Winston's Omakase Kyara is on my regular rotation, so I had to see what GastroPUB Nisei was about. While Kyara's food is a science, perfectly executed like a precision 911 gt3, Nisei is a fukn 1967 mustang fastback restomod with a roaring v8 that provides throttle therapy. This food is creative, with deep flavors, and will punch your soul. It's (add exploitive here) delicious at bar prices Best bites: Wagyu sliders. I could eat 10 of these. The balance of the Wagyu, truffle, and the brioche is amazing. This is not your dry, bar slider Kalbi tacos. It's more like a steak taco flavored Korean. I could eat 10 of these after my 10 sliders Ox tail ramen made me feel like anton ego. If you grew up on ox tail, you will not be disappointed Lobster rolls were perfectly done Miso cod fantastic I'm going back to try the rest of the menu. Go check out Nisei, if you want a drink, a good vibe, or just an amazing bite that will be etched into your memory
