Stopped into Aces Bar & Grill this past week and wanted to give a shoutout to the bartending team. Gina was working swing shift and really stood out for being friendly, attentive, and efficient. She handled service smoothly while still making regulars and new guests feel welcome, which helped create a comfortable atmosphere at the bar. John came on for graveyard afterward and kept that same consistent, easygoing professionalism while taking care of guests. As far as bars go this one could be everything you're looking for. It's a dimly-lit, typical looking watering Hole. There wasn't anything that stood out about it except for they installed power outlets at every machine so you can charge your device while you're there. Cool beans! The bartender was very personable and the service was prompt the whole night. I had a "Spicy Fatty burger" which was very tasty It definitely satisfied my craving for a good burger. I freely played music on the jukebox but it seemed I didn't have to play much because they were already playing the songs I would have played anyway...another plus. The drinks were flowing all night and it was the pretty good visit with no complaints. It wasn't very crowded in there I'm not sure if that's because of the out-of-the-way location of this bar. There was a very odd 4% "surcharge" they added to my bill. I was too inebriated to inquire...or even care at that point. But it's worth mentioning in case you want to ask why and maybe even have it removed. read more

this is a great neighborhood pub and the food is quite good. They finally started doing happy hour food specials maybe a year ago? It's from 3-6 and I think they have a reverse happy hour. Bloody mary $3, domestic beer $2, the appetizers are a good deal of $4.99 and you get a really big serving. Their nachos are very good, so are the mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers, the last of which is not even on their regular menu. The house salad on HH is by far the best deal, and it is fresh and ENORMOUS (see my pic.) It's 3 meals for sure. My favorite entree is the vegetarian wrap, because of the freshness of their ingredients and it even has artichoke hearts. It is huge, I always end up taking half home for lunch the next day. They used to have tilapia and would make me fish tacos but they stopped ordering the fish. I really wish they would put fish tacos on their regular menu, they were REALLY good and I miss them. The Kids' pizza, believe it or not, is an enormous portion (no way a kid can eat even half of it), and it is cheese and fresh garlic. I order it often and it's only $6.99 for a big pie. The kids' macaroni and cheese comes out in a huge white bowl and it is very good, creamy homemade cheese with elbow macaroni. The person who really makes the food incredible is their night chef, Sam. He is very passionate about cooking and he will come out and talk to you about the food and how he prepares it etc. He's a friendly guy, you gotta like him. Kolleen is the best bartender ever. Not only is she kind and friendly, but is really on top of things when it comes to service. I say the same thing about Leah, great person, friendly and professional. Heather works as a server usually in the evenings and we all love her, she is fast, friendly and efficient. Justin is awesome too...except when the Titans play the Bears. Booo. ;) Stan and Nick are usually the late night bartenders and I've always gotten good, friendly service from them. They built a new "Man Cave" lounge which is a great addition to this place. it is a very comfy lounge area with black leather couches and plenty of HD flat screen tvs. I've watched many a- Bears games in this Man Cave with a large group of friends and we have always received the best service, hands down. A bonus, the man cave is smoke-free. The bar tends to get really smokey but they have a nice outdoor seating area to escape from the smoke. (well, as long as it isn't 120 freakin degrees outside). My review is strictly based off of the restaurant portion -- not about their bar or anything. As far as I know, when they have happy hour for drinks, it's mostly just beer and stuff. They have steggs (steak & eggs) all day for $5.99 and it's actually GOOD. Not like the the crappy steggs at Southpoint (although that is cheaper) but quality trumps the cheaper in this case! I've never had a problem with their service. Love the guy that usually serves us, too. They also have happy hour (food) specials from 3-6pm and 11pm-2am daily. Domestic beer $2 & Bloody Mary $3 and they've got some appetizer-type food for $4.99 each. I've yet to try most of their HH food but I did have the nachos and that was such a huge portion! HH Specials: wings n fries, chicken fingers, jalapeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, zucchini sticks, breaded mushrooms, nacho del grande, onion rings, & house salad. Great bar and great bartenders! I've never won much at slots ever but I won at Ace! Over a grand off the slots?! Amazingness! Not only are the slots fun and obviously pay out but the service is phenomenal and food? Delicious! Love this place and love that it's so close by. Our favorite bartender, hands down, is Scott. What a great "around the corner" local bar that pours nice drinks, provides friendly service and great bar food to boot. So far I've had a slice, nachos and their fries. Everything comes out fresh and hot and hits the spot. They've got a TouchTunes and a pool table as well. Absolute waste of time. I was paid to do a review on this garbage bin posing as a Bar goer. I can only think of this place as a sad bugs life scene. It was dirty and I don't know if it was employees or management or (god forbid) the owner, but apparently reviews on a shit place isn't acceptable. I asked when it would be appropriate to conduct my review. All i got was a yeah. Yeah? That didn't answer my question. They laughed at me on my way out the door but I guess jokes on them, i'll have a job. All they know how to do is Fuck up drinks on the elementary level which will never get them hired ANYWHERE. Stopped at Aces Bar and Grill today for my Dinner. My waitress Jessica was very nice. My dinner and drinks were great I wasn't sure if they had a formal Dining Area so I set at a table in the Bar area. Music was diverse being played over head. You can tell Aces is a neighborhood bar and grill. I wanted to try it since I live down the road from it. I'll take a friend there the next time I visit. Ace L. swears by this place, so I decided to finally check it out. Everything from the bartender, cook, atmosphere, and FOOD are excellent. I was pretty overwhelmed. Nick, the bartender at night, is super cool and observant. I didn't have to say anything and he noticed us looking at a particular seating area that seemed closed off. Even though we were happy to sit anywhere, he told us we could sit in that cute section in the back :) and I can't get over how NICE he is. *hug* We took Nick's recommendation and ordered the Jokers Wild Platter, which comes with chicken fingers, fried zucchini, mozzarella sticks, and fried mushrooms. Typical bar platter, one would think. No- It was SOOO GOOD!!!! Now I go to bars all the time, and bar food can taste the same no matter where you go. BUT the bar food at Aces was extra tasty!! My friend even noticed the guacamole was made fresh. And those chicken fingers! What do they put in their batter?? Tell me!! Anyway, another amazing member of their staff to mention: Bryan, their cook :) he's the man! Aside from making awesome-tasting food, he was so attentive. He kept stopping by and checking on us, which my friend and I totally appreciated. This place is great. They have a claw machine where you can win a live lobster for $2 which they prepare for you. A generous happy hour (4pm-7pm & 11pm-2am) where domestic drafts are only $2 and appetizers are half off and a an incredibly friendly staff. The place is clean, open, the TV are great and they even put the UFC fight on for me when everybody else was watching football. I will definitely be frequenting this as my "GoTo" neighborhood bar. read more

I almost feel bad leaving this review, but this type of bar is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. My boyfriend and I happened in here because we saw the incredible yelp reviews, and what we found was disappointing. The bar was pretty well packed, but we found a couple seats at the bar and the bartender immediately came over to take our order. My boyfriend asked if they had a happy hour, and the bartender laughed and said no. Ok... I thought. So we just ordered a draft beer and had a seat. This is when I started looking around. The bar is dimly lit and filled-- I mean FILLED with smokers. Now, I understand I'm in Vegas and people smoke in bars, I'm no stranger to that; but this is new levels of smoke. My eyes immediately started burning and the gentleman to my left and to my boyfriend's right were just smoking like smokestacks. Looking around, the place literally looked like it had a fog machine there was so much smoke. There were lots of people, most appeared to look mid 40's-70's. Everybody seemed to know everybody-- think Cheer's style. Unfortunately the smoke got the best of us and we cashed out after just a beer. After leaving, our clothes, hair, and even our mouths tasted like cigarettes; and we were only there for maybe 10 minutes. I can honestly say, the bartenders were great, and everybody seemed just fine... it's just so smokey that even if I were in a dive-y bar kind of mood I wouldn't find myself here. read more

First time here, not from the area. My friend and I needed a spot to meet up in between where we live. I was checking bars in the area on Yelp and was sold by the first few food photos so we came here. The calamari looked appetizing so that's what I ordered. Sadly they now use heavily breaded and frozen calamari (I did not finish it, as shown in the photo). The bars on tap are limited and generic. The saving grace was my friend put $20 in her machine and she left with $140 (my $20 disappeared in the blink of an eye). read more

Hidden Gem! What a cool bar for a chill lunch. Brunette bartender was excellent and food flavourful. She reccomended the cajun chicken sandwich and my inner fat kid was amazed. All love from our attentive and positive bartender. She was taking care of our needs like she was in our heads. The patio is cool too. New spot for me in this area. Great first impression! This isn't a big college frat bar which is nice it's a low key, low lit classy bar, with a more elegant backside than Nicki Minaj's! I normally love bar & grills, you can always find great food at decent prices, and really friendly staff. My husband and I were up late and decided to try this place out since it's conveniently down the street from us. We walked in, we were not greeted or acknowledged. We didn't know if we had to sit at the bar or if we could sit in the separate dining area they have. We waited to ask and we were ignored. Never stepping foot into this place again. I'd rather take the drive across town to my normal joints. What a disappointment. read more

I have lived in the area for about four years. I WANT to be able to frequent this bar bc it is a walkable distance from my house. I also want to preface this review with this: I have ALWAYS for four years gotten great service here. I have had decent luck on the machines, good food, and great friendly bartenders. However, it is so damn smokey all the time, it is unbearable for non smokers, even those that don't normally mind some smoke. It's a small bar and that's why I've always liked it. I don't know if they just don't have a good ventilation system or if that's just how it is when a handful of smokers are in there, but I have left there and woke up the next day and my PURSE was so stinky, I got a new one. That's not ok. I really wish I could enjoy this great neighborhood spot. But until they maybe address the ventilation system or something, I think this may have been it for me tonite. Maybe they just cater to, or want smokers, but it sucks bc there are a lot of us non smokers that would love to go spend some money gambling and drinking here. I come home every nite from work and wish I had a local spot to gamble at before getting home. This bar has always been great. We love Aces!!! My wife and I actually met here quite some time ago. I've been going to Aces since it opened, it's our neighborhood bar, and would definitely recommend it to anyone! Kolleen is the bar manager & bartender and is great and awesome in soooo many ways!!! I highly recommend you stop in and have a cold one with the friendly staff of Aces!!! I recently moved to the area and pass by this place all the time. I figured I'd give it a try and popped in to check it out for lunch. The bar had a nice mellow atmosphere, with customers bantering to each other about the various sports games on the monitors. The bartender immediately came by to take my drink order and give me a menu when one of the bar guests who probably had some money riding on a college football game started screaming when his team gave up the ball. Along with the other bar goers, the bar tender jeered him in good humor while pouring my Newcastle. Aces is the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular even if you've never been. Their beer selection is okay, but the quality of the food is outstanding. I ordered a Reuben that totally knocked my socks off, it came out quickly, and could go toe to toe with any NYC deli creation. A little hole in the wall bar that's flocked to by a good amount of people. Kolleen is usually behind the bar when I'm there and is a fantastic tender. Why yes, they do have a restaurant attached to it, or it might be the other way around, but whatever works for ya. I was shown this place by my girlfriend and while I've never eaten at the restaurant, this review is mostly about the bar. As for their selection, it's pretty average for the most part. They actually have a good assortment of wine of decent quality. The gaming is pretty regular. Not all the machines are the same, some have different sets of gaming on them. As far as I've seen the machines are usually pretty hot. I've personally never lost any money there, but that's just me. If there's one thing about this place that I like the most, it would be the atmosphere. Friendly, laid back and the service is amazing. read more

First time there was two nights ago. It was around midnight, just got off work, and was ready to unwind close to my house. Bartender was on top of it, hooking up my double Jameson on rocks as I downed them. Haha the machines were hot also. I hit 5/5 in keno. And they have a legit bonus play (?). When you hit something, the bartender brings out the iPad and you click one diamond out of five that shows you a number, I believe. Then you look at a big screen tv and it shows you your bonus pts that convert to free game play money. I won I think a total of $40(?) in addition to my $800. Fun little neighborhood bar. We visited Aces quite a few times because we live in the area. There is a restaurant area to the right when you walk in... separate from the bar area, but you're still going to smell the smoke and hear the noise. With that said, I dont think that this is the type of place to take the family out for dinner. They have a pretty stellar happy hour... $2 domestics and $5 apps/meals (see photos). We got mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers the first time... the chicken fingers and fries were good, nothing fancy. I did appreciate that they cover the chicken fingers in the sauce of your choosing. Fries are pretty thin, think Steak n' Shake. Mozzarella sticks... I will probably never order again. The cheese wasn't melted at all and I hate that. The other times that we have gone, we have sat at the bar. I will make it a point to note that THEY DO NOT SERVE HAPPY HOUR AT THE BAR. I'm not sure why and honestly I think it's silly - especially when their bar is empty. There are plenty of tvs for watching sports or Tosh.O (like we did during our forth visit, ha!) This is definitely one of the more "fancy" bars I've been to. Overall, the place was very well-kept. I remember walking in and thinking, "Wow.. This place is really nice." The purpose of our visit was to meet my steggs (steak and eggs) craving. I'm not sure if the workers here are use to greeting upon customers entering, but we did not get that. We managed to figure out that we eat in the second part of the place where all the dining tables are at. (Yay to intuitive thinking, right?) I must add I really loved the dining area. The tables and chairs made it feel more cozier especially with all the TVs hanging around. Anyways.. on to my meal! Probably one of the best hash browns I've had. It didn't take like plastic nor was it burnt like some of the places I've been to. I request for over medium eggs in which I got over easy in return. The steak was pretty good. It's a little on the flatter side, but for $5.99 - what do you expect? It was still very juicy though which is all that wells. Me and my boyfriend asked for medium well and got medium well done in return. It was still delicious though and definitely fulfilled my craving. All in all, we will be back.
