I'm not one to usually write a review about sporting stores, I usually just review places I eat at…read more I would, however, like to write a very nice experience I had today around 12:30 - 1 PM ish when I had to find a new mug/tumbler to bring to my Krav Maga classes. There was quite a selection, and I was looking for a specific design so I looked for an employee who went through a lengthy process on the hunt for the tumbler I picked out. I unfortunately do not remember his name, but he had blonde hair I believe and was fairly tall compared to me lol. I have OCD, so I analyze every detail when I buy something. Or just everything in general. After he had recommended the Yeti Rambler and a few others, I ultimately decided on that one. This was when the probably most odd adventure at Dick's began of finding the tumbler color I liked that had the least amount of markings, dings, imperfections, etc. There were quite a few of that specific tumbler color, & it took a decent amount of time to finally decide on one. After pulling out every color of that size of mug I decided on, I narrowed it down to a few, but was still struggling due to some very minor markings I saw. I had asked for his help more than a few times to see if he could spot any markings on them and he crouched onto the floor with me, looking at them and pointing out what appeared to be the best option while I rotated the tumbler to look at it with the lighting at certain angles. Not only did this employee take the time and patience to help me, but went as far as getting me a wet and dry paper towel to see if a tiny dot of a smudge would wipe off -spoiler: it did indeed come off- but I really sincerely appreciate how understanding he was about the situation and how far he went to help me. I'd imagine a majority of people on this planet would go mad trying to help someone pick a tumbler for over an hour, but there was no judgment on his part and was very kind. I also left with an awesome tumbler thanks to him, and slightly embarrassed/guilty for the probably agonizing experience he had to go through lol, but still was very kind throughout all of it. He seemed inconvenienced when I came to the counter because he was talking to his friend about the football games over the weekend. He did not make eye contact with me at all. The first thing he says to me while looking at the register was " Find everything you're looking for?". I asked him how are you and he gave me the most sinister look I have ever received. He did not make eye contact with me again until I asked him if he was the manager and he said that he is the "2nd highest in charge". It's not my fault that you hate your job and hate your life. No need to take it out on your customers. I will be sure to let everyone know about this horrible experience and I will never come here again.

Swimmers... if you are "serious" about your craft, then East Valley Sports may have what you need…read more I'm not gonna lie, prices are higher than most major retailers, but they offer some of those specific/unique swim-related items that big brand stores typically don't carry. They do have Grab Bag bins around the store with gear that is 40-50% off the MSRP (which means you know it's high already), so that can help. As a swim coach for a high school team, they did a great job with our order, and communication about our orders was clear. It is located in the "far" east valley, but easily accessible.

Guess they were too involved with the fandom and not the business portion of the establishment. Some green/purple haired anime girl helped me. Was very rude from the beginning because I wanted a certain game of thrones sword. Was super nice to her as well and there was a "sale" tag on it that no other sword had. Asked her to honor it and she was like "it is the box number" in an evil lord valdamore type voice. I felt the sin oozing out of her, and almost had to engage my new weapon to cleanse the establishment in defense of her evilness. Luckily, I was able to escape. I let her know that I would be writing them a crap review as well so here we are. Stick to online. Swords are the quality of the poop I took this morning. The customer service is of the same level. The owner is the same level, except more like fiery diarrhea. Not good people here and a way below average establishment with stupid prices and bad quality items.
